        Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

        열공형과 비열공형 피질하 혈관성 치매에서 위험인자의 차이에 관한 비교 연구

        Backgrounds and Objectives: Vascular dementia is a group of dementing disoders arising from various stroke syndrome. Among these. subcortical ischemic vascular dementia (SIVD) is regarded as a relatively distinct clinical entity. However, MRI patterns of SIVD are not homogenous. In some patients, lacunes are dominant, and in others, subcortical white matter changes are. This study was designed to compare risk factor profiles between SIVD with and without multiple lacunes. Methods: We divided 47 subjects (22 males, mean age. 68 years) recruited from VADAPET (Multicenter Trial For Evaluation Of The Changes In the PET Images Of Subcortical Vascular Dementia Patient) study into two groups one with more than 5 lacunes in deep gray matter (lacune group) and the other with 5 or less(non-lacune group) Clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of two groups were compared. Results: Nineteen of 47 patients (40%) belonged to the lacune group. The lacune and non-lacune groups d d not differ in the following variables: age, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia heart disease, history of stroke or TIA, history of trauma or major surgery, family history of hypertension stroke, or dementia, age at diagnosis of dementia, body mass index, white blood cell count, ESR, CRP, fibrinogen, hemoglobin A1C, total cholesterol. LDL cholesterol creatinine, proteinuria, glucosuria, and microhematuria. However, male sex, smoking alcohol. hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol were possibly associated more with lacune group SIVD than with non-lacune group (p<0 1) Multivariate analyses revealed that smoking, hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol were independent predictors of SIVD with multiple lacunes Conclusion: Our study suggests that SIVD with multiple lacunes may be significantly different in smoking habits hemoglobin, and HDL cholesterol from SIVD without multiple lacunes.

        Currently the evaluation of high school science and mathematics learning has been too much knowledge-centered without concerning the inquiring ability or scientific attitude. This study, therefore, was made for the purpose of establishing of evaluation model for high school science (biology and earth science) and mathematics learning and its evaluation items. In this paper, the research was done about three fields, biology, earth science and mathematics. 1. For the biology, the evaluation methods of inquiry learning were studied with the foreign references, and proper evaluation items were suggested. 2. For the earth science, after analizing 5 kinds of earth science textbook of current using in high school, essential 19 items were selected. 5 of them were tested in test group and control group, then, the results were analized. 3. For the mathematice, the teaching elements of「Set」and「Flow chart」in mathematics (Ⅰ) were selected and structured. Detailed teaching objects were established and evaluation items were introduced.

        레미콘 회수수의 안정적 재활용을 위한 교반수조의 설비유형 효과

        Using the sludge water in producing ready mixed concrete, which is generated as washing surplus concrete after completing manufacturing and transportation of concrete is the best method in meeting the issue of cost of production and environment. However, in reality, using sludge water decreases Quality, and solid ingredients adhere to the transportation line of sludge water and the basin of sludge water, agitated to prevent precipitation of sludge, which incurs tremendous amount of repair expenses. In order to resolve the problems above, we have studied stable methods of supplying sludge water and experimentally reviewed the types of facilities. The result showed that a facility that added stabilizing agents which retarded hydration of unhydrated cement in sludge water for certain periods (2-3 days) and simultaneously agitated and moved by air diffusion and vertical flat blade impeller was most effective in stabilizing concentration of solid and preventing precipitation of solid in the bottom of basin. In addition, the performance of agitation and prevention of adherence of reaction basin of sludge water depended on selective efficiency of sand grain, and it has been studied that buffering inconsistent band of circulation of sludge water by operating the ring blower for air diffusion to the maximum was advantageous to preventing managing concentration and prevention of adherence.

        Thermal cycling 과 시효처리가 Glass-Ionomer수복재의 인장강도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구에서는 구강환경과 유사한 액상의 조건하에서의 온도변화가 광중합형 글래스아이오노머계 수복재의 인장강도에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해 대조군으로 2종의 재래형 glass ionomer를 선택하고 실험군으로 2종의 광중합형의 resin-modified glass ionomer와 2종의 polyacid-modified resin composite을 선택한 다음 수중에서의 thermal cycling과 시효처리를 행하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 글래스아이오노머 수복재의 인장강도를 측정한 결과, polyacid-modified resin composite, resin-modified glass ionomer 그리고 재래형 glass ionomer의 순으로 나타났다. 2. 인장강도는 30일간의 시효처리로 증가되는 경향을 보였다. 3. 재래형 glass ionomer 수복재의 인장강도는 thermal cycling 처리로 증가되는 경향을 보였으며, 37℃의 증류수 중에 1시간 침적한 군과 10,000회의 thermal cycling을 비교한 결과 유의한 차이로서 강도의 증가를 나타냈다(P<0.01). 4. thermal cycling 군의 인장강도는 DR군이 45.4MPa로 최대치를, FL군이 13.4MPa로 최소치를 나타냈으며, 각 군간의 통계적 유의성을 검증한 결과 polyacid-modified resin composite의 인장강도가 나머지 군과 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 5. 특성강도는 DR군이 48.6MPa로 가장 높은 강도치를 보였으나, Weibull 계수는 CG군이 8.9로 가장 높은 값을 보여 시험재료 중에서 가장 작은 강도의 분산을 나타냈다. This study was performed to evaluate the effect of aging and thermal cycling on the tensile strength of six commercially available glass-ionomer materials: two chemically set glass-ionomer materials(Fuji Ⅱ, fuji Ⅸ), two resin-modified glass-ionomer materials(Fuji Ⅱ LC, Vitremer), and two polyacid-modified composite resins(Compoglass, Dyract). Rectangular tension test specimens were fabricated in a teflon mold giving 5mm in gauge length and 2mm in thickness. All samples were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 was immersed in a 37℃ distilled water for 1 hour. Group 2 was immersed in a 37℃ distilled water for 30 days. Group 3 was subjected to 10,000 thermal cycles between 5℃ and 55℃, and the immersion time in each bath was 15 seconds per cycle. Tensile testing was carried out at a cross-head speed of 0.5mm/min and fracture surfaces were examined with scanning electron microscope. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. The polyacid-modified composite resins were stronger than the resin-modified glass-ionomer materials, which were much stronger than the conventional glass-ionomer materials. 2. Tensile strengths were slightly increased after aging treatments for 30days. 3. Tensile strengths of conventional glass ionomers were significantly increased after thermal cycling treatment(p<0.01). 4. The highest tensile strength value of 45.4MPa was observed in the Dyract group and the lowest value of 13.3MPa was observed in the Fuji Ⅱ LC group after the thermal cycling test, and the strengths of polyacid-modified composite groups were significantly higher than those of other groups. 5. The highest characteristic strength value of 48.6MPa was obtained in the Dyract group, however the highest Weibull modulus value of 8.9MPa was obtained in the Compoglass group after thermal cycling test.

      • 출생후 성장발육에 따른 흰쥐 유곽유두의 CGRP 면역양성 신경분포변화

        출생 후 성장 발육에 따른 흰쥐 유곽유두의 신경분포 및 변화를 관찰하기 위하여 생 후 1,5,10,15,20,25,35일 및 완전히 성장한 흰쥐를 대상으로 calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP)를 이용한 면역조직화학적 방법으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. CGRP-면역양성 신경섬유들이 혀의 양측에서부터 유두 내로 진입하여 성장발육에 따라 그 분포밀도가 증가하다가 10일군부터는 상피의 직하방에 특히 풍부하게 분포하여 subepithelial plexus를 형성하고 있었다. 1일군에서는 CGRP-면역양성 신경섬유의 특징적인 양상인 염주알 모양이 명확히 관찰되었으나 그 이후로는 염주알 모양은 다소 감소하였고 하나의 선으로 보이는 경우도 있었다. 상피 내로 진입하는 CGRP-면역양성 신경섬유들은 5일군에서 드물게 관찰되었으며 teaste pore를 가진 성숙한 미뢰가 처음으로 관찰되는 10일군에서 그 수가 증가하여 출생 후 15일군에서는 상피 전반에 걸쳐 풍부하게 관찰되었다. 그러나 그 이후 20일군부터는 미뢰가 존재하는 trench wall의 하방 ⅔부위의 CGRP-면역양성 신경섬유는 감소하고 유두의 top surface와 trench wall의 상방 ⅓에 CGRP-면역양성 신경섬유가 제한적으로 관찰되었다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the distribution of nerves in the rat circumvallate papilla by each developing stage. The distribution of nerves in the rat circumvallate papilla were investigated by means of immunohistochemistry for detection of calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP). The results were as follows: CGRP- immunoreactive(IR) nerve fibers entered the base of the papilla laterally to from a subepithelial plexus. On the 1st postnatal day, the bead-like appearance, typical appearance of CGRP-IR nerve fiber, was seen but from the 5th postnatal day the bead-like appearance was seen less clearly and nerve fibers looking like a line were often observed. Mature taste buds having taste pores were first seen at the 10th postnatal day and then, increased markedly after this stage. CGRP-IR nerve fibers entering the epithelium were rarely seen on the 5th postnatal day but they increased in number on the 10th postnatal day, when mature buds having taste pores were firstly obserned and then on the 15th postmanal day, they were observed abundantly throughout entire epithelium. But from the 20th postnatal day, the nerve fibers in the lower two-third of the trench wall in which taste buds exist decreased but on the top surface and upper one-third of the trench wall the nerve fibers were observed limitedly.

        산처리에 의한 정수슬러지 감량화

        The acidic treatment of waterworks sludge released organic materials as well as inorganics such as Al, Fe and Mn. Through solubilization as mentioned above, the content of suspended solids reduced by 18% at final pH 3.5. It also increased thickening efficiency and dewaterability of sludge. However overdosing of H_2SO_4 made dewaterability deteriorated. It showed that the optimal condition of acidic treatment be as follows; 5.5㎖ dose of H_2SO_4(97%)/1 sludge, final pH 3.5 and 15minutes of reaction time. Under these conditions, reduction efficiencies of sludge through thickening and dewatering were 57% and 92.2% respectively and then 7.8% of raw sludge released as cake compared to 10.5% without acidic pre-treatment. Therefore, mass of dewatered cake decreased by 26% through acidic treatment. Water content of dewatered cake was reduced from 71% to 62% due to this treatment. The changes of sludge properties including particle size, zeta-potential and bound water by acidic treatment appear to be important keys in assesment of the improvement of sludge dewaterability.

        The aim or the study was to analyze the effect of a laweek aerobic excercise program in 15 women over age 21 randomly selected. 1. In the case of the exercise group, body weight, upper arm circumference, distribution circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference after 12weeks of aerobic excercise program This was remarkable difference(* p<.05). chest circumference, thigh circumference after 12weeks of aerobic excercise program This was not a remarkable difference, 2. In the case of the exercise group, %body rat, rat mass, rat-free mass, after 12weeks of aerobic excercise program. This was remarkable difference(* p<.05). Total body water, body mass index after 12weeks or aerobic excercise program This was not a remarkable difference. 3. In the case of the exercise group, TC, TG, HDL-C after 12weeks of aerobic excercise program This was remarkable difference(* p<.05). LDL-C after 12weeks of aerobic excercise program This was not a remarkable difference, An aerobic exercise program was carried out for an extended period of time with 15 women over age 21 who did not exercise on a daily basis. As a result their physiological factor, physical fitness and Hood constituentin their daily life, was improved, These positive changes suggests the necessity of regular active exercise and offers possible excercise programs for women.

      • 인버터 TIG용접기의 역률개선에 관한 연구

        In this paper, We proposed AC/DC boost converter with high power factor in TIG welder. The proposed power factor correction circuit with UC2854AN acting on constant switching frequency average current control have a three-loop control structure : the inner current loop, the line voltage feedforward loop, and the outer voltage loop. Also, We applied the constant current control strategy to stabilized the output current using the analog PI controller. To demonstrate the practical significance of the proposed methods, some simulation studies and experimental results are presented.
