      • 좌골신경병증 : 임사양상 및 전기생리학적 연구 --

        좌골신경은 말초신경중에서 가장 강하고 긴 주행을 가진다. 좌골신경병증은 하지를 침범하는 단신경병증중 비골신경에 이어 두번째 빈도를 차지한다. 그러나 좌골신경병증에 대한 연구는 많지 않기에 저자는 좌골신경병증환자에 대한 원인 및 전기생리학적인 특징에 대하여 연구하였다. 전기생리학적 이상과 임상양상으로 진단된 총 19명의 좌골신경병증 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 좌골신경병증의 원인중 골반뼈의 골절이 6예로 가장 많았고 이외에도 총상, 대퇴부골절, 종양, 수술시의 쇄석위 위치후에 발생한 경우 등이 있었다. 신경전도속도 검사에서는 비골신경의 이상정도가 후경골신경의 이상정도 보다도 심한 양상을 보여 비골신경의 손상이 심함을 알 수있었다. Objectives: Of the mononeuropathies affecting lower extremites, sciatic neuropathy is second in frequency. But there is little information, so we undertook a retrospective study of the etiology, clinical and electrophysiologic features of the sciatic neuropathy patients. Methods: We identfied 19 sciatic neuropathy patients with electrophysiologic or clinical evidence of involvement of both peroneal and tibial divisions, or denervation of the hamstrings with either peroneal or tibial involvement. Convention nerve conduction study were done using conventional technique including peroneal, posterior tibial, sural, superficial peroneal nerves. We used grading systems for CMAP and SNAP amplitude, for example grads 1 is nornmal. Grade 2 is amplitude between 50% and 100% of the lower limit of normal. Grade 3 is below 50% of the lower limit of normal. Grade 4 is unobtainable response. Results: The etiology of the sciatic neuropathy was as follows : Hip fracture(6), compartment syndrome(2), gunshot injury(2), femur fracture(2), tumor(1), laceration(1), after BPH operation- lithotomy position bilatral case(1), unknown(4). The most common symptom was weakness. Abnormal SNAP amplitude of the sural and superficial peroneal nerve was 14 and 13 cases respectively and abnormal CMAP amplitude of the peroneal and tibial nerve was 19 and 10 cases repectively but grade 4 abnormaliy was more common in the peroneal nerve division. Abnormal EMG findings of the tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius and biceps was 18(18/19), 17(17/18), 11(l1/12) respectively. Conclusion: The most conmmon etiology of the sciatic neuropathy in our series was hip fractures and peroneal division was more involved by electrophysiological grading systems.

      • 선천성 좌내경동맥 부재 1예

        선천성 내경동맥부전 및 발육부전은 매우 희귀한 질환으로 전세계적으로 약 100예가 보고되고 있다. 이 질환은 뇌의 동맥류도 같이 동반하는 경우도 있으며 증상이 없이 지내는 경우도 있다. 본 저자 등은 두통을 주소로 내원한 43세 여자 환자에서 좌내경동맥의 선천적 부전을 전산화단층촬영을 통하여 확진하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Congenital absence of the internal carotid artery is a rare anomaly. When the internal carotid artery is congenitally absent, collateral circulation develops through the circle of Willis from basilar and the opposite internal carotid to supply the involved hemisphere. Absence or hypoplasia of the carotid canal on a computed tomography through the skull base should suggest a congenital ICA abnormality and prompt a search for associated intracranial vascular abnormalities because of high association with circle of Willis aneurysmal formation. A 43-year-old female patient listed to our hospital because of headache. There was no definite abnormal findings on neurologic examination. MRI did not show left intracranial portion of ICA, so we studied 4 vessel angiography. Angiography showed left ICA was not present and left MCA and left ACA was supplied by left posterior communicating artery and right AComA, respectively. Computed Tomography confirmed the absence of left carotid canal.

        입술 움직임 영상 선호를 이용한 음성 구간 검출

        본 논문에서는 음성인식을 위한 음성구간 검출과정에서 유입될 수 있는 동적인 음향에너지 이외에 화자의 입술움직임 영상신호까지 확인함으로써 외부 음향잡음이 음성인식 대상으로 오인식되는 것을 방지하기 위한 한 가지 방법이 제시된다. 우선, 연속적인 영상이 PC용 영상카메라를 통하여 획득되고 그 입술움직임 여부가 식별된다. 다음으로, 입술움직임 영상신호 데이터는 공유메모리에 저장되어 음성인식 프로세서와 공유한다. 한편, 음성인식의 전처리 단계인 음성구간 검출과정에서 공유메모리에 저장되어진 데이터를 확인함으로써 화자의 발성에 의한 음향에너지인지의 여부가 입증된다. 최종적으로, 음성인식기와 영상처리기를 연동시켜 실험한 결과, 영상카메라에 대면해서 발성하면 음성인식 결과의 출력에 이르기까지 연동처리가 정상적으로 진행됨을 확인하였고, 영상카메라에 대면치 않고 발성하면 연동처리시스템이 그 음성인식 결과를 출력치 못함을 확인하였다. 또한, 오프라인하의 입술움직임 초기 특정값 및 템플릿 초기영상을 온라인하에서 추출된 입술움직임 초기특정값 및 템플릿 영상으로 대체함으로써 입술움직임 영상 추적의 변별력을 향상시켰다. 입술움직임 영상 추적과정을 시각적으로 확인하고 실시간으로 관련된 패러미터를 해석하기 위해 영상처리 테스트베드를 구축하였다, 음성과 영상처리 시스템의 연동결과 다양한 조명환경 하에서도 약 99.3%의 연동율을 나타냈다. In this paper, A method to prevent the external acoustic noise from being misrecognized as the speech recognition object is presented in the speech activity detection process for the speech recognition. Also this paper confirmed besides the acoustic energy to the lip movement image signals. First of all, the successive images are obtained through the image camera for personal computer and the lip movement whether or not is discriminated. The next, the lip movement image signal data is stored in the shared memory and shares with the speech recognition process. In the mean time, the acoustic energy whether or not by the utterance of a speaker is verified by confirming data stored in the shared memory in the speech activity detection process which is the preprocess phase of the speech recognition. Finally, as a experimental result of linking the speech recognition processor and the image processor, it is confirmed to be normal progression to the output of the speech recognition result if face to the image camera and speak. On the other hand, it is confirmed not to the output the result of the speech recognition if does not face to the image camera and speak. Also, the initial feature values under off-line are replaced by them. Similarly, the initial template image captured while off-line is replaced with a template image captured under on-line, so the discrimination of the lip movement image tracking is raised. An image processing test bed was implemented to confirm the lip movement image tracking process visually and to analyze the related parameters on a real-time basis. As a result of linking the speech and image processing system, the interworking rate shows 99.3% in the various illumination environments.

      • MRI 체동 아티팩트의 제거

        In this paper, a new algorithm for canceling MRI motion artifact in image plane is presented. In the conventional approach, the motions in the x(read out) direction and y(the phase encoding) direction are estimated simultaneously. However, the feature of each x and y directional motion is different. First, it is noticed that the x directional motion corresponds to a shift of the x directional spectrum of the MRI signal, and the non zero area of the spectrum just corresponds to x axis projected area of the density function. So the motion is estimated by tracing the edges of the spectrum, and the x directional motion is canceled by shifting the spectrum in inverse direction. Next, the y directional motion is canceled using a new constraint, with which the motion component and the true image component can be separated. This algorithm is shown to be effective by simulations.

      • 입술움직임 영상신호를 활용한 음성구간 검출에 관한 연구

        This paper describes an attempt to correlate lip movement visual information acquired via a camera with speech audio information acquired by a microphone from a human speaker in order to prevent audio created by external noises from being misrecognized as speech emitted by said speaker. Images of the face of a human speaker are acquired via a camera for PC and are then separated into images that indicate lip movement and images that do not indicate lip movement. The data of lip movement image signals is saved in shared memory and shared with speech recognition process. This data is analyzed by the speech activity detection process, which is a pre-processing step of sound recognition. Existing technology involves a coterminous, yet independent acquisition of visual information and audio information that allows the isolated processing of both data types. Coordination of these isolated processes can better refine the pre-processing of speech recognition. Coterminous, coordinated use of an image processor and a speech recognition processor reveal the following juxtaposiition: First, if audio data is acquired via speech made together with images indicating movement of the lip; on a human face causes the results of speech recognition to be displayed, Second, if audio data acquired via speech made together with images of a human face whose lip movement is not registered by the camera prohibits the results of speech recognition to be displayed.

      • 신경회로망과 다소자 초음파 트랜스듀서에 의한 수중물체의 3차원 화상화

        A multi-element ultrasound transducer has been developed aiming at basic experiments of 3D endovascular ultrasound endoscopy for clinical diagnosis. A three-layer artificial neural network is employed for learning and imaging of targets placed on three different plane in front of the transducer. Inputs to the neural network are ultrasound echos received by transducer elements. Back Propagation is used as a learning algorithm. Rough visualization is realized even for untrained objects on untrained plane after being trained by primitive patterns of various sized rectangular targets.

      • 이산코사인변환을 이용한 한 장의 저해상도 영상으로부터 고해상도 영상의 생성

        In this paper, a simple method which generates a high resolution image from a single low resolution is proposed. The method solves a simultaneous linear equation that relates the high resolution image to the low resolution image. Since this equation is underdetermined, We utilize the energy compaction properity of discrete cosine transformation to reduce the number of unknowns used to represent the high resolution image and also propose two different implementation methods. The first divides the low resolution image into a set of small blocks and the proposed method is applied to each block separately. The second implemenation method applies the propose method directly to the full image frame. The validity of this proposed method is shown to be effective by using the simulated images.
