      • Development of a Mobile Application, "Wild Flowers of Bukhansan National Park (version 1.0)", for Identification of Plants in Bukhansan National Park

        We developed the educational purpose mobile application, named "Wild Flowers of Bukhansan National Park (version 1.0)", aiming for easy identification of wild flowers for students and visitors in the park. When visitors find a flower or part of plant in the park, visitors can search for its name utilizing the pictures and characters provided in their own smartphone mobile devices or tablet PCs. The application provides pictures of wild flowers in the park and character-based searching system based on 12 diagnostic features (e.g., growth form, leaf arrangement, flower symmetry, petal color, petal number, sepal number, etc). We adopted the complete floristic survey of Chung and Lee (1962) and added species that we confirmed their distribution in the park during the development of this application. In summary, number of vascular plants in this park was estimated to be 428 taxa including 100 families, 280 genera, 327 species, 1 subspecies, 50 varieties, and 5 formas. We provided a total of 588 pictures representing 358 taxa and each taxon includes multiple pictures in many cases. Included identification quizzes can be an efficient educational tool as well as fun activity for students and visitors who are learning plant species in Korea. Our next step will include GPS function in the application for indicating visitor's location and for providing previously reported sites of the species that we interested in the map of the park. The future application which includes GPS function will be a valuable tool for the monitoring of rare plants, plant researches related to the climate changes, etc. We currently provide Korean iPhone version only, and English version and both of android versions will be serviced soon.

        북한산국립공원의 계류수질 보전 전략(I)

        This study was conducted to investigate physicochemical property changes from July 1998 to August 2001 in Mt. Bukhansan National Park. Four water sampling points were selected to measure the quality of stream water in the northeastern part of the Mt. Bukhansan National Park. The results were summarized as follows; In spring, the average pH of stream water was below the first class of the river water quality standard, while it was normal level in summer. The average electrical conductivity was about 2.3~3.3 times higher in downstream water than in upstream water during spring and summer. The contents of anions($Cl^-$, $NO{_3}^-$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$) were about 1.1~7.4 and 0.4~11.4 times higher in downstream than in upstream water, respectively. These results indicate that water quality was poorer in downstream than in upstream water. We suggest that stream water in the Mt. Bukhansan National Park should be protected from impacts of snow melting mineral particles in spring season and human impacts like wastewater of point source in summer season.

      • Analysis of monitoring Road-kill in Odaesan National Park

        We surveyed mammalian roadkill at the National Route 6 (Jin-gogae to Songcheon, 18㎞) and a local road 446 (Odaesan National Park office to Sangwon-temple, 12㎞) in Odaesan National Park. Data of the surveys were analyzed by year, month, and species. Roadkills of 226 individuals were found at the survey areas. Of them, the road-killed 131 mammal individuals, 44 bird individuals, 40 reptile individual and 11 amphibian individuals were found during the survey period. High ratio of the road-kills was observed in mammals than the other animals. Among mammalian species, high ratio of the road-kills was observed in squirrels. There were road-kills of three endangered species, containing otters, yellow-throated marten and leopard cats. According to the analyses of annual road-kills, roadkills of 104 cases were occurred and highly frequent in 2014, following by roadkills of 81 cases in 2015, and then those of 41 cases in 2016. Most ases of the roadkills occurred in summer (June to September). The results will contribute to establishing management for reduction of roadkill in Odaesan National Park.

        The rs196952262 Polymorphism of the AGPAT5 Gene is Associated with Meat Quality in Berkshire Pigs

        High-quality meat is of great economic importance to the pig industry. The 1-acylglycerol-3- phosphate-O-acyltransferase 5 (AGPAT5) enzyme converts lysophosphatidic acid to phosphatidic acid in the mitochondrial membrane. In this study, we found that the porcine AGPAT5 gene was highly expressed in muscle tissue, influencing meat characteristics, and we also identified a non-synonymous single-nucleotide polymorphism (nsSNP) (rs196952262, c.673 A>G) in the gene, associated with a change of isoleucine 225 to valine. The presence of this nsSNP was significantly associated with meat color (lightness), lower cooking loss, and lower carcass temperatures 1, 4, and 12 h after slaughter (items T1, T4, and T12 on the recognized quality scale, respectively), and tended to increase backfat thickness and the waterholding capacity. These results suggest that nsSNP (c.673A>G) of the AGPAT5 gene is a potential genetic marker of high meat quality in pigs.

        김치유래 젖산균의 균체지방산 분석을 이용한 분류학적 연구

        표준균주를 포함한 230여개의 김치유래 젖산균에 대한 균체지방산(FAMEs)을 분석하였다. FAMEs profiles는 Euclidian Distance 17.5에 의해 7개의 Major Cluster와 1개의 Single Cluster로 나뉘어졌다. 이중 A, B, C 및 Cluster는 Leuconostoc속으로 분석되어졌고, F는 Lactobacillus속으로 분석되어졌다. 그리고 E와 G cluster는 두개의 Genus가 혼재되어 나타났으며 보충적인 연구가 필요하다. 앞으로 김치유래 젖산균의 균체지방산 분석결과를 기반으로 한 데이타베이스에 95가지 탄소원을 이용하는 수치분류학적 접근방법 및 Pyrolysis Mass Spectrometry 등의 화학적 분석 방법과 분자친화적 연구를 통한 종합적 분류정보 체계가 갖추어지면 젖산균의 신속, 정확한 동정 및 연구에 활발히 이용되어질 것이다. Two hundreds and thirty lactic acid bacteria, mostly isolated from Kimchi, including type strains were sued for analysis of cellular fatty acids. The 230 test strains were recoverd in 7 major and 1 single clusters defined a Euclidian distance of 17.5. These aggregate taxa were equivalent to the genus Leuconostoc (aggregate group A, B, C and D), and the genera Leuconostoc and Lactobacillus (aggregate group G). It is concluded as evident that FAMEs (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) profile of cell can be used as a criterion in classification of lactic acid bacterial from kimchi. Additional comparative taxonomic studies need to be carried out on well chosen representative strains to determine the most appropriate methods of value.

        정신분열병에 대한 리스페리돈의 효과 및 안정성

        연구목적 : 본 시험의 목적은 임상시험 시작전에 연구자들을 대상으로 PANSS Workshop을 통하여 PANSS, ESRS에 대한 국내에서의 표준화 작업을 구축하고 새로운 정신병 치료제인 리스페리돈의 효과와 안정성을 재확인하여 리스페리돈 사용에 대한 적정화를 이루는데 있다. 연구방법 : 1996년 4월부터 1996년 9월까지 국내 39개 대학병원 정신과에 입원중인 혹은 증상이 악화되어 입원하는 정신분열병 환자 377명을 대상으로 다시설 개방 연구를 시행하였다. 1주일간의 약물 배설기간을 가진후, 리스페리돈을 8주간 투여하였고, 기준점, 1주, 2주, 4주, 그리고 8주후에 평가되었다. 용량은 제1일에는 리스페리돈 1mg씩 1일 2회, 제2일에는 2mg씩 1일 2회, 제3∼7일에는 3mg씩 1일 2회 투여하였다. 이후 환자의 임상상태에 따라 임의로 증량할 수 있으며, 최대 일일 16mg을 초과하지 않도록 하였다. 추체외로 증상을 조절하기 위한 투약을 허용하였다. 임상증상 및 부작용의 평가는 PANSS(Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale), CGI(Clinical Global Impression) 그리고 ESRS(Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 : 377명중 343명(91%)이 8주간의 연구를 완결하였다. 치료 종결시점인 8주후 PANSS 총점수가 20% 이상 호전된 경우를 약물 반응군으로 정의할때, 약물반응군은 81.3%였다. 리스페리돈에 반응하는 예측인자로는 발병연령, 이전의 입원 횟수, 유병기간이 관련 있었다. 리스페리돈은 1주후부터 PANSS양성, 음성, 및 일반정신병리 점수상에 유의한 호전을 보여 효과가 빨랐다. CGI의 경우도 기준점에 비해 1주후부터 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. ESRS의 경우, 파킨슨 평가점수는 기준점과 비교해 투여 1주, 2주, 4주후 유의하게 증가되었다가 8주후 기준점과 차이가 없었다. Dystonia 평가점수는 1주후만 유의한 증가를 보였으며, dyskinesia 평가점수는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 혈압, 맥박수의 생명징후 및 일반 혈액학 검사, 생화학적 검사, 심전도 검사에서 유의한 변화는 없었다. 결 론 : 이상의 다시설 개방 임상 연구를 통해 리스페리돈은 정신분열병 환자에서 양성증상뿐만 아니라 음성증상 및 전반적인 증상에도 효과적인 것으로 사료된다. 보다 명확한 평가를 위해서는 다른 항정신병약물과의 이중맹검 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각되며, 또한 장기적 치료에 대한 평가도 함께 이루어져야 하겠다. Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of risperidone in the treatment of Korean schizophrenic patients. Method : This multicenter open study included 377 schizophrenic patients drawn from 39 university hospitals. After a wash-out period of 1 week, the schizophrenic patients were treated with risperidone for 8 weeks and evaluated at 5 points ; at baseline, and 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks of treatment. The dose was increased from 2mg/day(1mg twice daily) to 6mg/day(3mg twice daily) during the first week and adjusted to a maximum of 16mg/day over the next 7 weeks according to the patient's clinical response. Medication to control extrapyramidal symptoms was permitted. The psychiatric and neurological status of the patients was assessed by PANSS, CGI, and ESRS scales. Results : 343(91%) of 377 patients completed the 8-week trial period. Clinical improvement, as defined by a 20% or more reduction in total PANSS score at end point, was shown by 81.3% of patients. The predictors of response to risperidone were associated older age, shorter duration of illness, fewer previous hospitalization. Risperidone had rapid onset of action ; a significant decrease of the total PANSS and three PANSS factor(positive, negative, general), and CGI was already noticed at the end of first week. For the ESRS, parkinsonism rating scores were significantly increased until week 4 comparing with baseline. Dystonia rating scores were significantly increased until week 1, and dyskinesia rating scores were not significantly changed during the study. Laboratory parameters including vital sign, EKG, hematological, and biochemical values showed no significant changes during the trial. Conclusions : This study suggests that risperidone is generally safe and effective against both the positive and negative symptoms in our group of patients.

      • 科學敎師敎育의 實態調査와 그 改善方案 : 物理敎師 敎育을 中心으로

        The presnt study is concerned with too purposes. One, immedi-ately, is to use the new physics (science) curriculum revision in the physics (science) teacher preparation institution. The other, ultimately, is to throw some suggestions in curriculum revision and the related agencies and persons. The problems set-up, in detail, are educational objectives, the contents of subject-matter, the methods of instruction, management of curriculum, teacners' problems and opinions to the future education of physics teacher. Not only to analyze the present curriculum but also to develop the new curriculum, three dimensions, theoretical background reflected recent advancement and current topics in science educa-tion, the present status of the secondary school curriculum, the literature survey, and the status quo of college and graduate school curricula preparing qualified science teacher of secondary school are considered in criteria of analysis. The results are the following. The educational objectives set-up are not clear-cur and not appropriate. The contents of subject are not so validated to objectives reflected current science curric-lum of secondary school and philosophy of science teacher educa-tion, and are not made into structure. The methods of assertion and proof and the creative thinking information processing, problem-solving, decision-making are encouraged in the present teaching. In conclusion, the new physics (science) teacher preparation curriculum model appropriate to our situation is presented. The new model emphasized the flexibility of the curriculum managem-ent and stressed the achievement of excellence in teaching of open-competence, the concept of science for all and multi-aspect of modern science and technology.

        交通安全施策における住民參加と合意形成の動向に關する硏究 : 日本の事例を中心として 일본의 사례를 중심으로

        교통분야에 국한하지 않고 「주민참가」를 다루는 연구에서는 주로 정치학을 중심으로 하는 흐름과 건축학·토목공학을 중심으로 하는 흐름이 보여진다. 정치학을 기초로 하는 어프로치에서는 「참가」의 대상이 되는 당사자의기능이나 변천을 유형화한 연구가 비교적 많다. 한편, 건축학이나 토목공학에 의한 어프로치에서는 교통이나 환경, 복지 등 구체적인 각종 도시계획의 책정에 관한 방법론이라고 하는 측면에서의 연구가 많이 보여진다. 이상의 접근방법에 대조해 교통시장을 연구하는 시점에서 「주민참가」를 파악해 보면 교통시장에 있어 입수 가능한 3요소(교통시설·교통용역·교통도구)의 편성을 수요자나 도로주변의 주민이 참가여부에 따라서 새로운 형태로 바꾸는 행위라고 할 수가 있다. 「주민참가」나 「합의 형성」에 있어서 환경면이나 건강면에서 부하가 적은교통 3요소의 편성을 선택할 수 있도록 하기에는 종래의 행정주도에 의한 일방적인 정보전달을 재검토하는 교통 이용자 한사람 한사람의 의식에 호소하는 연구가 필요시 된다. 그 수법으로서 종래는 안전한 보행이나 운전의 익숙에 특화하고 있던 교통교육을 안전하고 환경에 부하가 걸리지 않는 교통수단을 선택하는 내용의 것으로 바꾸고 그리고 리스크 인식의 개인차에서 보여지는 「합의형성의 곤란성」을 해소하기 위해서 당사자들간의 정보교류나 이해사항의 시행착오에 의한 「리스크 · 커뮤니케이션」이 유효하다라고 보여진다. The flow centered on politics, architecture and civil engineering is mainly seen in the research that deals with not only "citizen participation in municipal affairs" but traffic field. There is comparatively a lot of researches which types the function and changes of the person who is the object of "participation" in the approach based on politics. On the other hand, in the approach of architecture or civil engineering, there are lots of researches regarding methodology about decision of various concrete city planning such as traffic, environment, and welfare, etc. In contrast to approach mentioned above, if we grasp the "citizen participation in municipal affairs" in the viewpoint of the traffic market studies, we can say that the "citizen participation in municipal affairs" is the act which change the combination of three elements (a traffic facility, traffic service, and traffic implement) that can come to hand to new form according to demand person and place-along-the-route (area along the railroad line) residents' participation. In order to enable it to choose the three traffic elements that is few of load in the side of environment or health in "citizen participation in municipal affairs" and "agreement formation", the research is needed that appeals to consciousness of every single traffic user who re-examines the one-sided information transmission led by administration. The methods are to change the contents from old traffic education that specialized in safe walking and familiar driving to contents of choosing means of transportation which is safe and few of loads. Also, to solve the "difficulty of agreement formation" brought by deference between individuals of risk recognition, "risk communication" by information exchange between persons concerned or trial and error of items of agreement is expected to be effective.

      • 블럭탐색 제어를 이용한 프랙탈 영상 부호화 시간 향상과 컬러 영상에의 응용

        In this paper, in order to reduce block search area during the process to determine the coefficient of IFS transform equation in Fractal Coding, We performed the following steps : First, We partitioned Domain blocks and Range blocks with certain critical point determined by the edge characteristcs and the direction of brightness. When similar block's detected, the Domain block in the same class of the given range was only searched. Second, When the processing is on, We determined the linear list structure with the second error limit, We, therefore, could control coding time, We tryed to improve the compression rate of the Image with reducing the number of times of tranformation by changing the area of block with Quadtree Partitioning, and also tried to progress the fidelity of the image by changing the search density of search area, according to the magnitude of range block. We applied these method to image compression of 24-bpp color. First of all, after converting the RGB coordinate into YIQ Coordinate which has brightness signal and chrominance signal, We minimized by a quarter and coded I,Q signal which implies the information of the color but takes just small part at image information and on the case of decoding, with linear interpolation method we got I,Q signal enlarged as it was. All throughout these processing, We could find out that There are no damages on the original image, and we are able to make better result on compression rate and fidelity of image comparing with those of conventional Fractal Coding method which was applied to the RGB images.
