Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia(CEP) is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by chronic infiltration of the lung with eosinophils. It presents with profound systemic symptoms comprising fever, night sweats, weight loss, dyspnea and blood eosinophilia with nonsegmental air-space consolidation confined to the outer third of the lung, the "photographic negative of pulmonary edema". Histopathologic features of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia are intraalveolar and interstitial infiltrations with eosinophils, histiocytes, giant cells, scattered lymphocytes and plasma cells. Glucocorticoid therapy cause prompt resolution of symptoms as well as disappearans of blood eosinophils, elevated serum Ig E levels and the roentgenographic lesions. Infrequent radiographic findings include nodular infiltrates, consolidations, cavitations, atelectasis and pleural effusions. Deaths from CEP although rare, have been reported, but the majorities of CEP have benign courses and do not need a therapy with ventilator. We report a case of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia, which had a sudden course associated with diffuse pneumonic consolidations on the both lung and bilateral pleural effusion.

This paper purpose of presenting the improvable effect of the Youngsan River water quality according to management of the Kwangju Chun water quality. QUAL2E model, the estimate model of the water quality is used in this paper. The river length of study-basin is 60.0km in middle channel of the Youngsan River. The river length is divided into 60 elements, and those are divided into 6 reaches. This paper focused on the improvement effect of the Youngsan River-water- quality, with water quality management degree of the Gwangju Chun and clean water inflow degree of the Youngsan River. As a result of estimate, the Youngsan River BOD concentration-regression equations that were based on BOD concentration of the Gwangju Chun and inflow clean water of the Youngsan River considerating the Gwangju Chun BOD concentration.

Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.
PEG 분해균주의 분리와 PEG film의 상용성에 관한 연구

PEG를 sole carbon과 energy source로서 이용하는 미생물을 자연계에서 분리하였고, PEG의 분자량이 높아질수록 그 분해 미생물의 수가 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, liquid culture로서 PEG농도를 감소시키는 미생물을 선별하였고, 분해율은 PEG 8000이 약 18.8%였으며 PEG 10000은 약 25.4%인 것으로 조사되었다. PEG film의 제조를 위해 EMAA 및 EAA와의 상용성을 적외선 분광(IR) 스펙트럼을 사용하여 조사한 결과, EMAA와 EAA의 카르보닐기와 PEG의 에테르기와의 강한 수소결합이 형성으로 blend film제조시 상용성이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. Several strains capable of degrading PEGs(Polyethylene Glycols)were isolated and investigated for their biodgradation ability of PEGs. Microorganisms screened for the biodegradation studies were those grown on the PEG used as a sole carbon and energy source. It was known that the number of microorganisms decreased when grown on the high molecular weight of PEG(e.g. 20,000). A liquid culture was carried out with such microorgaisms and resulted in the decrease in PEG concentration meaning that PEG was degraded in the reactor. The biodegradability was found to be about 18.8% for PEG-8000 and 25.4% for PEG-10000, respectively. For the manufacture of biodegradable PEG film, EMAA/PEG and EAA/PEG blending ability was investigated with IR spectrum and showed that it was possible to produce blending film.
p-Nitrostyrylphenylsulfone 基質에 對한 L-Cysteine의 反應

The kinetics and mechanism of nucleophilic addition of L-Cysteine to P-nitrostyrlphenyl-sulfone substrate over wide pH range was presented and analyzed in detail. The rate constants were determined by ultra-violet spectrophotometry in 50% methanol water mixed solvent at 25℃ and the following rate equation which can be applied over wide pH range was obtained. i.e kt = ko + kp [OH^(-)] =(1.92×10^(-3)+3.71×10^(3)[OH^(-)]/8.94×10^(-2)+1.03×10^(5)[OH^(-)]) +4.56×10^(2)OH^(-)] From the rate equation, the following mechanism were proposed; above pH 10. 50, the reaction proceed by the attack of L-Cy-S^(-) on the activated carbon-carbon double bind of substrate. Below pH 8.50, the reaction proceed by addition of L-Cysteine to p-nitrostyrl phenylsulfone substrate. And in the range of pH 8.50-10.50, these two reaction occur competitively.
Panipenem을 포함한 Carbapenem 계열 항생제의 몇 가지 임상균주에 대한 시험관내 항균력

목적 : Panipenem은 일본에서 개발된 카바페넴계 항생제로 그람양성균, 그람음성균, 혐기균에 이르기까지 광범위한 항균력을 나타낸다고 보고되고 있지만 국내에서 분리되는 균주에 대한 감수성 검사결과는 아직 없다. 본 연구에서는 임상에서 분리된 E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, S. pneumoniae 균주를 대상으로 carbapenem 계열 및 몇 가지 항생제와 감수성을 비교하고, 특히 P. aeruginosa의 경우 carbapenem의 효과를 Muller-Hinton agar (MHA)가 반감시킬 수 있는 특성을 고려하여 감수성에 변화가 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 방법 : 2002년 3월부터 6월까지 가톨릭대학교 성모병원, 강남성모병원, 성가병원, 성모자애병원, 성빈센트병원에서 분리된 임상균주 E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, S. pneumoniae를 대상으로 하였다. 항생제 감수성 검사는 NCCLS 기준에 따랐고 P. aeruginosa의 경우 MHA 이외에 minimal agar Davis (MAD)를 추가로 사용하였다. 감수성 결과 해석시 panipenem은 imipenem과 같은 기준을 적용하였다. 결과 : E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa는 각각 100균주였고, S. penumoniae는 134균주였다(PSSP 41, PNSP 93균주). E. coli, K. pneumoniae는 모든 균주가 imipenem, meropenem, panipenem에 대해 감수성을 보였다. P. aeruginosa의 경우 imipenem, meropenem, panipenem, ceftazidime의 MIC_(90)은 각각 16, 8, 32, 64㎍/mL이었다. MHA와 MAD 배지를 이용하여 P. aeruginosa에 대한 항생제 감수성을 비교해 본 결과 imipenem, panipenem의 MIC_(90)가 각각 16, 32㎍/mL에서 8㎍/mL로 감소하였고, imipenem에 비해 panipenem이 더 많이 감소하였다. S. pneumoniae의 경우 PSSP는 imipenem, meropenem, panipenem에 대해 모두 내성이 없었고 PNSP는 imipenem, meropenem, panipenem에 대한 MIC_(90)가 각각 1, 2, 0.25㎍/mL이었다. 결론 : 결론적으로 panipenem은 E. coli, K. pneumoniae에 대해 기존의 카바페넴계 항생제와 유사한 우수한 항균력을 보였다. P. aeruginosa의 경우 ceftazidime, imipenem과 비슷한 항균력을 보였고 아미노산 함량이 적은 배지를 사용함에 따라 MIC가 낮아졌으며 imipenem보다 더 많은 영향을 받았다. S. pneumoniae의 경우 특히 PNSP에서 기존의 카바페넴계 항생제보다 우수한 항균력을 보였다. Panipenem은 주요 그람음성균 및 폐렴연쇄구균 감염에 유용할 것으로 기대된다. Background : Panipenern (PAPM) is a new carbapenern which has an enhanced broad spectrum against both gram-positive and negative organisms. The aim of study was to compare the activities of PAPM with those of imipenern (IMPM), meropenern (MRPM) against several clinical isolates in Korea. Methods : We tested the in vitro antimicrobial activities of PAPM, IMPM, and MRPM against total 300 clinical isolates of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 134 Streptococcus pneumoniae collected from 5 different university hospitals. Using NCCLS guidelines, MICs of PAPM, IMPM, MRPM, and/or ceftazidime were determined. Results : All isolates of E. coli and K. pneumoniae were susceptible to PAPM, IMPM and MRPM. MIG_(90) of PAPM, IMPM, and MRPM against P. aeruginosa were 32, 16, and 8 ㎍/mL, respectively. Comparing Mueller-Hinton agar (MHA) and minimal agar Davis (MAD), the MIG_(go) of PAPM and IMPM were reduced from 16 and 32 ㎍/mL to 8 and 8 ㎍/mL, respectively. PAPM was more influenced by MAD than IMPM. All isolates of penicillin susceptible S. pneumoniae showed 0% of resistance to the carbapenems tested. MIC_(90) of PAPM, IMPM and PRPM against penicillin non-susceptible S. pneumoniae were 0.25, 1 and 2 ㎍/mL, respectively. Conclusion : Panipenern could be one of the potentially useful drugs for the treatment of infections caused by E. coli, K. pneumoniae, and S. pneumoniae. We also showed that PAPM had good anti-pseudomonal activity when examined in MAD, the amino acid-limited media. Therefore, it could be useful for the treatment of infections caused by P. aeruginosa.
舞踊 專攻生의 體格과 體型에 關한 考察 : 忠淸南道 所在 中學校 學生을 中心으로

The aim of this study is to ciassify, compare and analyze charecteristics of physiques and somatotypes of some middle school students majoring in Korean Dance(15 students), Modern Dance(15 students) and Ballet(14 students) in Chung nam Province. In order to get some results this study has used the methods to mesure the elements of physiques(Height, weight, girth of chest, sitting height, length of arms, length of legs) and to mesure skinfold thickness of four parts, bone diameters of two parts and muscle girth of two parts. The results of this study are as follows. 1. The mean height are 160.03±5.47(Modern dancers' group), sitting heights are 86.07±3.20(Modern dancers' group) But there is no significant differences. 2. The mean weights are 50.19±6.34(Korean danders' group), chest girth are 79.29±5.34(Korean cancers' group) But there is no significant differences. 3. The mean length of arms are 76.26±3.13(Ballet group), length of legs are 102.24±3.76(Ballet group) But there is no significant differences. 4. The rankings of muscle girth in two parts of obdies are 1) Modern dancers' group 2) Korean dancers' group 3) Ballter cancers' group and there are significant differences in maximum circumferencer of upper arms(p<0.05).

The hot deformation behavior of advanced reduced-activation alloy (ARAA) was investigated using hot torsion tests. Thefl ow stress decreased as deformation temperature increased and as strain rate decreased. The fl ow behavior demonstratedthe typical dynamic recrystallization (DRX). Based on the constitutive analysis of peak stress, the activation energy for hotdeformation was found to be 330.3 kJ mol −1 . Peak stress was analyzed as a function of the Zener–Hollomon parameter, andcalculated and experimental values were in good agreement. A DRX kinetic model for ARAA was derived with deformationconditions based on the Avrami-type model. It was confi rmed that the volume fraction of dynamically recrystallized grainsincreased as deformation temperature increased and as strain rate decreased. The necklace structure and grain boundarybulging were observed in the deformed microstructure of ARAA. The suggested DRX mechanism for ARAA during hotworking is discontinuous DRX.

Recently, the importance of cost control is increasing in the early design phase. But there is little information that can be used in the early design phase. and cost data of work item is difficult to recognize cost changes by functional alternative change in the design phase. It is necessary to constitute historical element cost data for the effective cost plan and control in the early design phase. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present the plan of elemental cost data generation and database constitution.
