Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

This study seeks to investigate the interplay between 'body' and 'object' in the poetry of Kim, Hye-Soon. In Kim's poems, the body is the source of interminable existential crises and also the basis for suffering. Futthermore, the outer world that the body occupies proves to be no less an aggressive threat to the subject. In an attempt to effectively overcome this 'double oppression,' Kim foregrounds both the inner and the outer sphere affecting the body. However, in terms of the inner sphere, the wounded subject fails to overcome the limits sets by the reality principle. Likewise, in terms of te outer sphere, the attempt at the pluralization of the subject is also doomed to failure, insofar as the process f convergence back to a singular self ultimately comes into play. In the end, the yoke of multiple oppression can only be surmounted by re-establishing the relationship between the wounded subject and the external savior.

Results : In 1997. 99 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 45(45.5%) were PPNG. Conclusion : The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 45.5% in 1997.

Spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage due to hemophilia A with impaired coagulopathy is very rare. Spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage has been recorded as having originated from many retroperitoneal organs and blood vessels, and it may be due to local and/or systemic factors. In the majority of the patients, kidney and adrenal gland were the major site of hemorrhage. The systemic causes of spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage are anticoagulation therapy and chronic hemodialysis. During the course of these treatments, hemorrhagic complications may occur at many site, including the retroperitoneal space. Blood dyscrasias including leukemia, polycythemia, sickle cell trait and hemophilia have been reported associated with spontaneous retroperitoneal hemorrhage. Background: A hyperosmolar nonketotic state has been known to have a high mortality, and even now, despite this high mortality, only a few studies of this disease have been performed. We studied the prognostic factors for the hyperosmolar nonketotic state. Methods: We retrospectively studied the cases of 40 patients who were in a hypersomolar nonketotic state when admitted to Sanggye Paik Hospital during the 6-year Period from 1995 through 2000. We divided the hyperosmolar nonketotic patients into two groups, the complete recovery group and the incomplete recovery group, and compared the clinical features, the laboratory findings, and the precipitating factors between two groups. Results: 1) A total of 40 patients were studied: 24 in the complete recovery group and 16 patients in the incomplete recovery group. The mortality rate was 32.5%. 2) No significant statistical difference existed among the clinical features of the two groups, except for the sex(p<0.01). 3) Among the laboratory findings of both groups, analysis revealed that the effective osmolarity was significantly higher among those in the incomplete recovery group(p<0.01). Serum sodium concentration was also significantly higher among those in the incomplete recovery group(p<0.01). Serum creatinine was also significantly higher among those in the incomplete recovery group(p<0.05). Serum bicarbonate concentration, on the other hand, was significantly lower among those in that group(p<0.05).4) Infection was identified as the most common precipitating factor(62.5%). Among the precipitating factors of the two groups, there were significant statistical difference in pneumonia, UTI, and inappropriate glucose control. 5) A significant statistical difference existed among the initial level of consciousness of both groups(p<0.05). 6) The only significant independent factor responsible for prognosis of nonketotic hyperosmolar state patients was the sex. Conclusion: The sex was only significant independent prognostic factor of nonketotic hyperosmolar state patients.

우리나라 리스會計制度의 改善方案에 관한 硏究 : 現行 리스會計處理基準을 중심으로 The Current Leases Accounting Standard

Korea's current lease' accounting standard bears a great deal of inconvenience and undue advantage against the lessees, which is fundamentally caused by the fact that the accounting standard was established, upon request of lessors and in favor of them, by two accounting corpor ations, Samil and Dongyong, and that the object of the Lease Act about equipment and facilities is aimed at gaining profit from the lease business. This means that many factors in the accounting standard inclined toward the interest of lease companies. Since accounting information have a considerable influence on the business activities, the importance of fairness and inconvenience of accounting standard cannot be underestimated. Some sufficient and closer re-examination on the Act for lease accounting should be made. Besides those problems mentioned above, this thesis reveals a number of other controversial and reformable points in the Act as follows. 1) Since it is a conceptual fallacy to put the bargain purchase option together with the bargain renewal option, the two concepts must be differentiated from each other. 2) It. is in reality almost impossible to get some profit from the bargain purchase option made use of by lessors, but it is stated conversely. 3) Depreciation of the leased assets is prescribed in the same way as actual assets, but that of financing lease should be made along with lease term. 4) In case of depreciating leased liabilities, which one of the interest rate rules should be adopted is not specified. This paper proposes that the interest rate used in lessee's evaluating the present value should be applied unchanged to this occasion. 5) The principles about residual value are not provided. Its concept and the rules for accounting procedure ought to be provided. 6) According to the lease classifying standard, danger and advantage arisen from the ownership are prescribed to be transfered to lessees only when the economic useful life ends. But a financial report of lease business is dependent upon the actual transfer of danger and advantage resulting from the ownership of leased property. 7) All the Financing leases of lessors, without taking sales-type lease into consideration, are regarded as direc-??financing lease. This must be point out an another conceptual fallacy, since it is presumed that the profit source of lessors is restricted to interest receipts. Some proper complements are therefore required on this item. 8) No principles for the initial direct costs can be found in the Act. Its concept and basic accounting must be set up in concrete terms. Heat and mass transfer in the counter-current contact of an air stream and a thin falling liquid film was investigated in a flat-plate wetted wall column. In this study, temperature profiles of the gas phase were measured by micro-thermocouples and composition of gas samples was analyzed by a gas-chromatograph. Local Nusselt numbers were calculated from the temperature profiles. Taking into account the effect of various variables on heat and mass transfer, a new theoretical model was proposed. The model was used to analyze experimental data. Observed heat and diffusion fluxes were compared with theoretical values predicted by a laminar boundary layer theory with high mass transfer at the interface. Good agreement between data and predictions was obtained.

손가락 끝 점을 이용한 손 형상 인식

최근 사용자 친화형 유저 인터페이스 구현을 위해 인간의 손 형상을 실시간으로 인식하는 연구의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 그러나 인간의 손은 자유도가 크기 때문에 손 형상을 정확히 인식하기란 매우 어렵고 또한 피부색과 유사한 색을 가지는 복잡한 배경에서는 더욱 곤란하다. 본 논문에서는 별도의 센서를 부착하지 않고 카메라를 사용하여 피부색 정보에 의한 손 형상을 분할한 후 손가락 끝 점을 찾는다. 찾은 손가락 끝 점을 이용하여 방향을 탐지하는 알고리즘에 대해 기술한다. 이 방법은 템플리트 매칭을 이용하여 손가락 끝 점을 탐색한 후 찾은 손가락 끝 점과 손목의 중심을 이용하여 전, 후, 좌, 우 방향을 탐지한다. 제안하는 방법을 이용하여 3D 가상현실 공간에서의 네비게이션(Navigation)에 응용하였으며, 실험결과 전진, 후진 및 좌측, 우측의 방향전환도 매우 좋은 결과를 보였다. 또한 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 마우스, 키보드, 조이스틱 등의 조작 없이 전, 후, 좌, 우 방향전환을 사용자가 직관적으로 지시함으로써 보다 자연스러운 인간과 컴퓨터의 상호작용을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

Testosterone에 의한 승홍의 신독성 유발에 의한 연구

Mercuric chloride, inorganic compound, is one of the most important drugs that has been used in the field of argriculture, antisyphilitica and anticeptics, but it is not used clinically at present. We have studied the effect of testosterone on the mercuric chlorideinduced nephrotoxicity. Renal lipid peroxide concentration of male rat treated with mercuric chloride was significantly increased in comparison with that of the female rat, it showed similar effects on testosterone pretreatment. Changes in renal catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities were not siginificantly different in testosterone-treated groups. But, renal xanthine oxidase and aldehyde oxidase activities of testrosterone-treated group given mercuric chloride significantly increased in comparison with that of the testosterone-treated alone. Animals treated with testosterone prior to mercuric chloride showed more severe damage on histological observations than those treated with testosterone only. Consequently, we suggest that the mercuric chloride-induced nephrotoxicity might be renal lipid peroxide generating enzyme system by testosterone.
