        Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

      • Acetonitrile-Methyl alcohol 혼합용매중에서 β-phenylethyl ρ-chlorobenzenesulfonate와 Aniline과의 반응속도 연구

        The reactions of β-phenylethyl p-chlorobenzene sulfonate with aniline have been studied in acetonitrile-methyl alcohol by conductometric method. The temperature of reaction were 45℃, 50℃, 55℃ and the activation thermodynamic parameters were evaluated. In results, the rates of reaction were increased with MeOH content. The isokinetic relationship was shown ΔH^≠ and ΔS^≠ its temperature was 293.1°K It was also found that the specific solvent effects were more important than the bulky solvent effect in the rate of reaction.

      • 직업 유무와 진균 감염

        Back ground : This study was designed to evaluate the relation fungal infection with the males and females with/without occupation and to evaluate cause of fungal infection Methods : This study was done via direct interview and KOH mount with 03 patients who are oupatients in a university hospital from July 2000 to Aprill 2001. They were divided into three groups, males with occupation, females with occupation, females withoup occupation and sudied by sex, age, duration, types of dermatophytosis, site of infection, infection in families. Results : The results were as follows 1. Fungal infection was 40% in males with occupation, 24% in females with occupation, 36% in females without occupation. 2. The site of fungal infection was the offices(42.5%), the families(30%) in men with occupation and the families(54.2%), the offices (41.7%) in females with occupation and the families(72%), the others(11.1%) in females withoup occupation. 3. The members of the families were the spouses(32.5%), the parents or children(32.5%) in men with occupation and the spouses(41.7%), the parents or children(25.0%) in females with occupation and the spouses(69.4%), the parents or children(13.9%) in females without occupation. Conclusions : In our study, the results showed no difference in the fungal infections among males with occupation, females with occupation and females without occupation. Fungal infection of females without occupation was spread in the families and by the pouse among the members of the families

      • 베어링 조합방법이 이송축 열변위에 주는 영향에 관한 연구

        One of the important technical issues is how to decrease thermal expansion of ball screw in proportion to the increase of machining speed. when measuring force of stretch of ball screw, since not only actual expansion and the value of bending have to be considered, it's impossible to definite the exact value of expansion. In addition, support bearings of ball screw gain considerable force in axial direction. It also generates thermal expansion on the ball screw, and deteriorates the bearings. In conclusion, it's impossible to give the pretension enough to absorb the all elongation due to thermal expansion generated during machine running. If gave, bed, column and saddle are all bent to change machine accuracy, and the support bearings of ball screw are damaged. The purpose of this paper is to study the pretension of support bearing of ball screw in machine tool.

      • 배추 시스테인 단백질 분해 효소 억제 유전자 BCPI-1의 발현과 종자 발아 및 유묘 생장과의 연관성

        Phytocystatins are protein inhibitors of cysteine proteinases of the papain family that have been identified in both monocot and dicot plants. A cDNA encoding a phytocystatin, BCPI-1 (Brassica Cysteine Proteinase Inhibitor-1) has been isolated from Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. pekinensis) flower buds. Here, we tested whether BCPI-1 transcription is regulated by hormones, and could be involved in regulating cysteine proteinases during and after germination. BCPI-1 was sensitive to exogenous GA_(3) and ABA, which are important factors controlling seed germination, suggesting that the expression of BCPI-1 is hormonally regulated. We introduced a recombinant plasmid containing the full-length BCPI-1 cDNA under the control of cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter into rice embryogenic calli using the particle delivery method, and regenerated a number of transgenic rice plants. Constitutively over-expressed BCPI-1 caused changes in overall plant growth and development, including reduced germination and seedling growth. These data support the role of the BCPI-1 in the regulation of endogenous proteinases during both seed germination and subsequent seedling development. Phylocystatins은 papain계열의 cysteine 단백질 분해 효소 활성을 특이적으로 억제하는 억제자로 다양한 식물 종으로부터 분리되었다. 본고에서는, 배추 화아 cDNA library로부터 분리된 phytocystatin인 BCPI-1(Brassica Cysteine Proteinase Inhibitor-1)의 생체 내 기능에 대해 연구하였다. 먼저, BCPI-1 전사체는 발아 조절에 중요한 영향을 미치는 GA₃와 ABA에 의해 예민하게 증가, 혹은 감소되는 반응을 보임으로써, BCPI-1이 식물 호르몬의 영향을 받으며, 특히 발아나 유묘의 생장 조절에 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다. Particle bombardment 방법을 통하여 BCPI-1을 벼의 배 형성 세포 내에 도입, 재분화 시켜 형질 전환 벼를 생성하였다. CaMV 35S promoter의 조절에 의해 지속적인 BCPI-1 발현을 보이는 형질 전환 벼의 경우, 발아와 유묘 생장이 현저히 지연되었다. 위의 결과들을 바탕으로, BCPI-1이 식물체 내에서 생성되는 cysteine 계열의 단밸질 분해 효소 활성을 조절하여 종자의 발아와 유묘의 생장에 영향을 미치는 것으로 추측한다.

      • 다발성 원발성 악성 종양의 임상적 고찰

        다발성 원발성 악성 종양은 최근 평균 수명의 증가, 악성 종양의 진단과 치료법 및 종양 역학 분야의 발달로 발견 빈도가 증가하고 있을 뿐 아니라 분자 생물학의 발달로 그 발생 기전에 관한 연구와 이차암의 약물 예방 요법에 관한 연구가 활발하게 이루어짐으로 해서 더욱 관심이 모아지고 있다. 1980년부터 1993년까지 인제대학교 의과대학 부속 부산백병원 외과학교실에서 경험한 다발성 원발성 악성 종양 47례를 분석하였다. 다발성 원발성 악성 종양의 발생빈도는 0.84%이고 동시성 암이 29례 위암과 폐암, 위암과 자궁 경부암이 높은 빈도로 관찰 되었다. 악성 종양의 가족력이 있거나 제1암의 수술 후에 항암 약물 요법이나 방사선 조사 등의 부가적인 치료를 시행하는 경우 추적 기간 중에 항상 다발성 원발성 악성종양의 발생 가능성을 고려하여 발암 물질에 노출을 피하도록 하며 철저한 추적조사를 통한 제2 암의 조기 진단 및 치료로 암 환자의 생존기간을 더 연장할 수 있다고 생각된다. The incidence of multiple primary malignant neoplasm(MPMN) in an individual is in gradual and steady increase with the time as reported in many literature. This increase has been attributed to the fact that the average lifespan of cancer patients was remarkably prolonged with a striking development of cancer surgery, postoperative adjuvant therapy, and diagnostic and interventional radiology. Authors reviewed forty seven patients with multiple primary malignant neoplasm among 5,534 cancer patients registered in Pusan Paik Hospital from 1980 to 1993. The overall incidence of multiple primary malignant neoplasm was 0.84%, synchronous neoplasm was 29 cases and metachronous was 18 cases. The sex ratio of male to female was 1.2 : 1 The mean age of the patients with synchronous neoplasm at diagnosis was 57.4 years old and metachronous neoplasm at first cancer was 48.5 years old. In metachronous neoplasm, the mean time interval between 1st and 2nd neoplasm was 67 months. There was one familial MPMN affected by stomach and colon cancer. The most frequent combination site was stomach and colorectal cancer. Blood group A was most common in synchronous and metachronous neoplasm (55%). Therefore, in order to get longer survival period in cancer patients, it is important to make early detection of second cancer in same patient with careful follow-up and examination, and to avoid the exposure of the carcinogenic material in the high-risk patients, based on awareness of the possibility of second cancer.

        The purpose of this stud,' was to examine structural problem which occur in case of enlarging inner space and to show the solution. Shear experiment was performed to insure unification of the existing structure and steel frame in case of acting lateral force like seismic effect and wind effect. Also, bending experiment was performed to consider deformation of vertical direction due to subsidence of extension frame. Design range of connection was proposed by various test.

        접촉 센서를 이용한 CNC 선반 열변형에 따른 위치오차 개선에 관한 연구

        Development of high speed feed drive system has been a major issue for the past few decades in machine tool industries. The reduction of the tool change time as well as rapid travel time can enhance the productivity. However, the high speed feed drive system generates more heat in nature, which leads thermal expansion that has adverse effects on the accuracy of machined parts. The detail of the model proposed is described in the paper together with the experimental methodologies using a proposed compact measurement system to examine the validity of the proposed approach. The results showed the machining accuracy could be maintained to better than ±5㎛ while using this sensor.
