        간내 담석과 동반된 간내 담도암에서의 p53과 Ki-ras의 발현

        Background/Aims: Hepatolithiasis or primary intrahepatic stones may be accompanied later by intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. This cancerous lesion is frequently associated with atypical hyperplastic epithelium that was suspected of being precancerous. To investigate the Ki-ras or p53 mutation may play a role in carcinogenesis, and to determine whether atypical hyperplastic epithelium may be precancerous, this study was performed in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas associated with hepatolithiasis. Methods: We examined 12 patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas associated with hepatolithiasis. Ki-ras point mutations were assessed by direct DNA sequencing. Expressions of p53 protein were immunohistochemically assessed. The overexpression of p53 and point mutation of Ki-ras were examined in normal, hyperplastic, atypical hyperplastic, and can- cerous tissues separately. Results: The expressions of p53 protein were detected in 4 (33%) of 12 cholangiocarcinomas and Ki-ras point mutations at codon 12 were found in 2 (17%) of 12 cholangiocarcinomas. In those two carcinoma cases which contained the mutant sequence of Ki-ras, the same point mutation from wild type GGT (glycine) to GAT (aspartic acid) was. found in the associated atypical hyperplastic epithelium. However, none of the normal and hyperplastic epithelium harbored Ki-ras or p53 mutations. Conclusions: The overexpression of p53 may play a part in the carcinogenesis of some intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas associated with hepatolithiasis, whereas the role of Ki-ras mutations in those cases is dubious. However, Ki-ras point mutation at codon 12 may be responsible for either cancer or atypical hyperplastic epithelium associated with hepatolithiasis in certain cases, suggesting atypical hyperplastic epithelium may give rise to carcinoma.

      • 光州地域 工業團地의 廢水排出 特性과 效率的 管理

        광주지역의 공단폐수처리 및 관리에 관한 연구를 수행하였으며 기존씨스템의 현황과 문제점 분석을 통하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 즉, 광주지역에는 4개 공단이 있는데 폐수배출을 주도하는 업종은 금속광물류이며 가장 큰 BOD원은 본촌공단으로서 총 BOD부하량의 65.6%를 점유하고 있다. 단위업소당 평균유량을 기준한 폐수발생비중이 큰 순서는 음·식료, 금속·광물류, 섬유류 순 이었고 용수사용에 대한 폐수사용 비율은 음·식료와 금속·광물류 0.56, 섬유류 0.85 로서 폐수의 체계적 관리를 위하여는 업소에서의 계통별 물수지분석이 긴요한 것으로 판단되었다. 업종별 방류수의 S-BOD_(5), S-COD_(Mn), S-COD_(Cr), 농도는 각각 3∼83mg/ℓ, 7∼140mg/ℓ, 20∼900mg/ℓ로서 수질규제 기준에 만족된 수준이라 할 수는 없는 상황이었으며, 더욱 엄격한 관리를 위하여는 BOD농도보다 COD농도에 관심을 가져야 하고, 특히 COD에 있어서도 앞으로 강화될 수질규제에 능동적으로 대응하려면 KMnO₄법보다는 K₂Cr₂O_(7), 법에 의한 측정수단이 더욱 효과적일 것으로 판단되었다. 공단업소 대부분의 방류수는 k(유기물 분해속도상수)값이 0.006∼0.024day^(-1), (BOD/COD)比 0.024∼0.325로서 상당량의 난분해성 유기물질이 포함되어 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 업소는 급변하는 국제정세에 부응하여 환경문제와 관련된 사내 외 교육체계를 유지할 필요가 있다. 또한, 기존의 개별업소 폐수처리방식은 그룹화된 유사업종별 공동방지시설 운영방식으로 개선될 필요가 있으며 이 경우, 공동방지시설의 처리공법은 BOD보다는 COD중심으로 검토함이 바람직할 것으로 판단되었다. A study on the management and treatment of industrial wastewater in Industrial Parks of Kwang-Ju has been performed. The obtained results from the experiments or the literatural data analyses of the present status and problems on the existing systems for wastewater were as follows; There are four Industrial Parks in Kwang-Ju and metals & minerals industries take the lead in discharge of industrial wastewater. The biggest BOD source in four industrial parks is Bon-Chon Industrial Park with 65.6% of total BOD loads. The biggest effluent flow among the industries is the beverage or foods industry on base of average flowrate per each similar factory by industry, and the second of big industry is metals & minerals (42 %), the third is fibers (8 %) in mass order. The estimated flowrate ratios of the effluent wastewater to the supply water were 0.56 in beverage or foods industry, 0.85 in metals & minerals respectively. So, it was considered that analyses about the flow balance of water from supply step to effluent step are important for the effective and systimetical management of industrial wastewater. Concentrations of the effluent wastewater for factories to be surveyed are 3∼83mg/ℓ, 7∼140mg/ℓ and 20∼900mg/ℓ, respectively for S-BOD_(5), S-COD_(Mn) and S-COD_(Cr). These qualities are not enough to satisfy the legal regulation, therefore it was considered that COD base is desireable than BOD base in the parameter of water quality for the more strict management. Especially also in COD concentration, COD_(Cr), concentration by the potassium dicromate(K₂Cr₂O_(7)) method would be better than the potssium permanganate (KMnO₄) method for the more active mamagement of water quality. As for the BOD/COD correlations of the effluent with 0.006∼0.024 day^(-1) of k values, ratios of them are 0.024 ∼ 0.325, and it was estimated that a much of non-biodegradable organic matters should be contained in most of effluent wastewater from Industrial Parks. The company or factory needs to make inside- or outside-education systems related with environmental problems tighten a little more for the rapidly changing international situation in near future. And also, it was considered that the joint treatment system by group would be better than the existing individual treatment system for the similar factories and the treatment method is to be reformed from the BOD first management order to the COD first.

      • 소라, Turbo cornutus SOLANDER의 棲息場 環境과 集團成長에 關하여

        1977년 6月부터 12月까지 西歸浦 沿岸에 位置한 숲섬,甫木里,法還里의 3個 養成場을 對象으로 海洋基礎生態學的 要因 및 標識放流한 소라의 成長과 移動등을 調査하였다. 1. 各 養成場의 水溫 및 比重의 垂直的 變化는 보이지 않았고 숲섬 養成場이 多少 低溫을 나타냈다. 2. 숲섬 養成場의 海低地型은 B,C형태이고 甫木里 養成場은 A形態,甫木里 養成場은 C, D形態가 主로 構成되어 있다. 3. 各 養成場의 流速은 숲섬 養成場이 가장 빨라 4∼20 ㎝/sec였고, 法還里 養成場은 1∼10㎝/sec로 緩慢한 流速을 보였다. 4. 西歸浦 沿岸의 吸收係數는 0.218∼0.329(평균 0.283)이였고 숲섬, 法還里, 甫木里 順으로 작았다. 5. 調査된 海藻相 中 各 養成場別 優點種은 共히 모자반, 감태, 석회조, 클라도포라 등이였으며 특히 法還里 養成場은 모자반이 優勢하게 分布했다. 6. 標識放流한 소라의 成長度는 6月부터 10月까지 빠른 傾向을 보였고,養成場別 成長速度는 甫木里,숲섬,法還里의 順이었다. 7. 標識放流期間 동안 具殼 新生部에 形成된 棘數는 2∼3個가 가장 많았다. 8. 소라의 移動거리는 各 養成場 共히 5∼25m의 範圍가 가장 높은 頻度를 보였다. Studies on the growth of topshell which had tagging liberated and ecological survey were taken from the three culturing topshell forms of the Seogwipo coast form June to December, 1977. Three culturing topshell farms are Supseom, Bomkri and Beophwanri coat. The culturing topahell farms are shallow with the mean depth 5∼8m, and vertical changes of water temperature and specific gravity in each arears were not appeared. The water temperaure of Supseom area was lower than the other areas. The compositions of submarine geological type in Supseom, Bomokri and Beophwanri area were B (Hole type) and C (crevice type) type, A (Rock type) type, and C and D (Sand type) type respectively. The Current speeds of each culturing farm area were in the range of 1∼20㎝/sec, and the current of Beophwanri culturing farm area was slower than the other areas. The absorption coefficient of Seogwipo coastal water in the range of 0.218~0.329 and the mean was 0.283. Fifty species of marine algae were identified. Major algal group of each culturing farms were Sargassum sp.,Ecklonia cava, Chladophora sp., calcareous algae. Particularly, Beophwanri culturing farm was abundant in Saragassum sp. Of the three culturing topshell farms increment in growth of topshell were showed rapid growth from June to October and noted that increment in growth of Bomokri was the highest. During the tagging liberated period, the number of spines on newly formed parts of shell was in the range of 0∼5 spines. The creeping distance was 5∼25m in each culturing topshell in all.

      • 제주대학 임해연구소 부근의 해조분포 및 식생

        저자가 1974년 3월부터 1975년 2월에 걸쳐 1년간 조사한 제주대학 임해 연구소의 해조분포 및 식생은 아래와 같다. 1) 채집된 해조는 모두 101종으로 녹조류 18종, 갈조류 36종, 홍조류가 47종이다. 2) 이 지역의 대표적인 해조군집은 ① Porphyra-GloiopeltiAssociation; ② Ishige Association; ③ Hizsikia fusiforme Association; ④ Sargassum Association; ⑤ Collaina Association으로 식물 사회학적인 분포로 보아 Hizkietum Taniputi에 속한다. The annual variation of marine algal flora including 101 species in all(18 species of Chlorophyta, 36 species of Phaeophyta, 47 species of Rhodophyta), was observed at Marine Laboratory of Cheju University near Seogwipo for one year from March 1974 to February 1975. Five typical algal association were observed at the observed station; 1) Porphyra Gloiopeltis Association; 2) Ishige Association; 3) Hizikia fusiforme Association; 4) Sargassum Association; 5) Corallina Association.

        A bacterium producing five fibrinolytic isozymes was isolated from black bean chung kuk. The bacterium was identified as Bacillus subtilis BB-1 by 16s rDNA sequence homology search. A gene out of five fibrinolytic genes in the Bacillus subtilis BB-1 was cloned by shot-gun method. A Cla ⅠDNA fragment of B. subtilis BB-1 chromosome was cloned in to pBluescript ⅡSK(-) and showed the fibrinolytic activity to bacterial cells. The Cla ⅠDNA fragment was sequenced and the sequences did not show homology with gene for protease or fibrinolytic enzyme genes in other organisms. The Cla ⅠDNA fragment was reduced to 2,142 bp by activity-guided PCR cloning method. The optimum pH and temperature of the enzyme were 5.0 and 35℃, respectively. Substrate specificity of the fibrinolytic enzyme was detected in skim milk, casein, gelatin and blood agar plates. The activity of the enzyme was not detected with these substrates. Taken together, this enzyme is a new fibrinolytic enzyme and may be used to prevent thrombosis and arteriosclerosis.

        Recently, the importance of groundwater is higher as the use of groundwater for drinking, agriculture and industry sisnificantly increases. However, groundwater has been contaminated by industrial waste, domestic sewage, landfill leachate and seawater intrusion. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the chemical characteristics and water-rock interaction of groundwater for the preservation of groundwater resources. The purpose of this study is to find out the magnitude of groundwater contamination, and its water-rock interaction characteristics in granitic regions. The Cretaceous Palgongsan granitic regions are selected as the study area. The results are as follows : Groundwater is contamimated by NO_3^- in a Part (CP-3, CP-4, CP-5) of study region. K^+/Na^+ in groundwater of study legion is equivalent to 1/10 for K_2O/Na_2O of rock. Groundwater's evolution is being progressed to noncarbonate hardness tupe of Ca^2+ -HCO_3^-, continuously noncabonate alkali type of Ca^2+, Cl^-, SO_4^2-. Saturation index of aluminosilicate minerals for groundwater is dominated kaolinite. This indicates the initial evolution process of groundwater.

        Although numerous studies have shown that cadmium disturbs the normal biological processes in central nervous system the mechanism of toxicity is not well understood The present study has investigated the effect of cadmium on oxidative stress, Na+/K- ATPase activity and the aggregation of amyloid beta peptide(β-amylotd) in neuronal cell Ime, HT22 cell LC_(5) and LC_(50) of cadmium for HT22 cell resulted from MTT assay was 4 1 μM and 9 5 μM, respectively Cadmium(2 to 8 μM) dose-dependently increased the lipid peroxidation and decreased the content of glutathione Cadmium 4 μM showed a significant decrease in Na^(-)/K^(+) ATPase activity as compared with control group The aggregation of P-amyloid was accelerated in a dose-dependent manner by the treatment with 2 to 8 μM cadmium These results suggest that the neurotoxicity of cadmium can be mediated by the increase in oxidative stress and decrease in Na^(-)/K^(+) ATPase activity.

        Human Papillomavirus에 감염된 에이즈 환자에게 발생한 항문암 2예

        We report two cases of anal cancer in patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome infected by human papillomavirus (HPV). One patient presented with huge anal abscess of long duration which developed after incomplete resection of anal warts 2 years ago and the other patient presented with anal bleeding. They were diagnosed as having anal squamous cell carcinoma. Highly oncogenic HPV 69 and 16 were detected by HPV-DNA chip on the previous specimen of warts and anal cancer tissue, respectively. The possibility of anal cancer should be considered in patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus who present anal problems such as anal abscess, anal bleeding, or condyloma accuminatum in anus. 항문암은 HIV 감염자에게 발생하는 빈도가 비감염자에 비해 더 높다. HIV 감염자에게 항문암의 발생 빈도가더 높은 까닭은 항문 성교와 이로 인해서 발생하는 human papillomavirus (HPV) 감염이 이들 환자에게 더 흔하기 때문이라고 생각한다. 항문의 농양, 첨규 콘딜로마로 내원한 HIV 감염자에게서 항문암을 진단하였으며, 이환자로부터 2년 전에 수술로 떼어낸 첨규 콘딜로마 조직에서 HPV 유전형 69를 발견하였다. 또한, 항문 출혈로병원을 방문한 HIV 감염자에게서 항문암을 진단하였으며, 조직 생검으로 얻은 종양 조직에서 HPV 유전형 16를발견하였다. HIV 감염자에게 항문의 농양, 첨규 콘딜로마, 항문 출혈 등의 임상 증상이 발생하면 HPV와 관련된항문암을 감별해야 하겠다.
