A neural network approach has been developed to determine the depth of a surface breaking crack in a steel plate from ultrasonic backscattering data. The network is trained by the use of feedforward three-layered network together with a back-scattering algorithm for error correction. The signal used for crack insonification is a mode converted 70˚ transverse wave. A numerical analysis of back scattered field is carried out based on elastic wave theory, by the use of the boundary element method. The numerical data are calibrated by comparison with experimental data. The numerical analysis provides synthetic data for the training of the network. The training data have been calculated for cracks with specified increments of the crack depth. The performance of the network has been tested on other synthetic data and experimental data which are different form the training data.
PCR을 이용한 국내시장에 유통중인 유전자재조합 콩 및 가공식품의 모니터링

본 연구에서는 PCR을 이용하여 국내시장에 유통중인 원료콩과 가공식품에 epsps 또는 pat 유전자가 삽입된 유전자재조합 콩(GMS)의 사용여부를 모니터링하였다. 이러한 GMS의 검출을 위해 3쌍의 primer set을 제작하였고, 각각의 primer들은 GMS에 삽입된 유전자와 특이적으로 반응하여 PCR산물을 생성하였다. 2001년 표시제가 시행되기 이전에 생산된 총 가공식품과 이후의 제품에 대해 각각 모니터링을 수행하였으며, 표시제 이전에 생산된 제품의 경우 대부분의 미국산 원료에서 esps가 삽입된 GMS가 검출되었으나, 표시제 이후에는 검출되지 않았다. A method using PCR was developed for the monitoring of genetically modified soybean (GMS) and GMS derived foods utilized in the market. We designed 3 pairs of specific oligonucleotide primers based on epsps and pat inserted in GMS and ferritin gene as internal standards. Template DNAs isolated from soybean and processed foods were used for multiplex PCR with 3 primer sets. PCR, used with specific primer sets for GMS detection, showed the amplified DNA fragments with GMS template DNA. In this study, GMS containing epsps was detected from soy processed foods manufactured before GM food labeling system, however, GMS containing epsps or pat was not detected from soy processed foods manufactured after GM food labeling system.

Sang-Woo Kim, Jae-Young Choi, and co-workers report on p. 2187 the electrical and structural stability of the nanogenerators, with excellent charge scavenging performance under external mechanical loads such as bending and rolling. The Flavonoids of the bark Ectractives from Pinus koraiensis grown in Mt. Jiri were analysed. in this study. Dihydroquercetin(DHQ) was isolated from analysed diethyl ether soluble fraction in the EtOH(95%) extractives from the bark of Pinus koraiensis. 1) Diethyl ether soluble fraction content in the EtOH(95) extractive from the bark of Pinus koraiensis was 14.0%. 2) Development Standard of dihydroquercetin, H and I group among fraction of liquid chromatography were separated a section Rf value 0.4 by TLC. 3) The dried sample was tested by UV spectroscopy. Maximum peak of DHQ in methanol removed 289 nm to 292 nm in methanol mixed with 1N NaOH solution. It was identified to be phenolic compound having aromatic ring. Typical peak of monomer appeared at 1600 and 1800 cm. 4) R values in phenolic compound and hydroxyl appeared 3436 to 3200 cm and aromatic R value was at 1476 cm. It was identified to be phenolic compound having aromatic ring. Typical peak of monomer appeared at 1600 and 1800 cm. 5) The typical hydrogen bonding signal of DHQ by Proton NMR showed at 11.70 ppm between the OH-5 and 4-C=O. The H-6 and the H-8 on the A ring showed at 6.01 and 5.94 ppm, to be double doublet. Each signal due to the three aromatic protons of the B ring appeared at 7.54 and 7.42 ppm to doublet H-5' : at 7.25 and 7.12 ppm to be doublet H-6' : at 6.96 and 6.86 ppm to be double doublet H-2' on the NMR Spectrum. Downfield removed to meta position between the H-2' and H-6'.

製紙工場에서 發生되는 슬러지의 再活用 方案의 一環으로 製紙슬러지와 시멘트의 水和反應을 木質- 시멘트와 比較하여 測定하였으며, 硬化促進을 僞한 添加劑로는 CaCL_2를 選定하여,木質-시멘트와 比較하여 시멘트 重量當 3% 그리고 5% 添加하였다. 또한 슬러지 - 시멘트間 그리고 本質 - 시멘트間의 結合狀態와 超微細構調를 살피기 僞하여 走査電予顯微鏡으로 斷面을 觀察하였다. sludge I의 最高溫度는 50.0℃, 最高 溫度到達時間은 18.2 時間, 硬化障害指數는 13.4 %를 나타냄으로서 木質- 시멘트의 水和反應 보다도 가장 良好한 反應을 보였다. 硬化促進을 僞한 添加劑에 依해서는 木質-시멘트의 水和反應이 슬러지- 시멘트의 水和反應 보다도 더욱 改善된 것으로 나타났다. SEM觀察에서도 sludge I의 境遇는 시멘트와의 硬化障害 現像이 나타나지 않아 木質보다 優秀함이 立證되었다. This study was examined on hydration of paper sludge - cement composite. The intention was to provide a preliminary elucidation on how cement and sludge bond together. The result indicated that the paper sludge I had the most effect on hydration than any other specimens. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to examine the cement formations and sludge(wood) - cement formations. The addition of chenmical additives, calcium chloride, appears to enchance compotibility in cement-wood- water mixes.

This paper was carried out to analyze the variation of composition of seed oil with storage periods. Difference of content of crude fat in fresh-cut seed and one year storage seed is not detected but in pentadecanoic acid, acid value, iodine value and peroxide value in one year storage seed have lower than those of the fresh-cut seed. Linoleic acid and oleic acid were high among of total fatty acid in fresh-cut seed but moiety of linolenic acid and icosanoic acid was low otherwise that of palmitic acid and oleic acid is increased in one year storge. In neutral lipid, capric and mytistic acid were high in fresh-cut, oleic acid, palmitic acid and linoleic acid were increased after one year storge. In glycolipid, the lauric acid and linoleic acid were high in fresh-cut seed, the palmitic acid was increased, otherwise, linolenic acid was decreased after one year storge. In phospholipid, palmitic acid and unknown part were high in fresh-cut seed, palmitic acid, oleic acid and linolenic acid were increased after one year storge.

방사선 조사 마우스에서 소장움세포의 Apoptosis 발생에 미치는 생약의 효과

Apoptosis의 유발을 억제하는 한약제를 파악하여 apoptosis와 관련된 정상적 또는 질병에 대한 연구에 자료를 제공하고자 방사선에 의해 유도된 apoptosis를 지표로 한의학적 처방에서 많이 사용되는 대표적 한약제(24종)의 효과를 검증하였다. 용안육, 산조인, 원지, 인삼, 복령, 목향, 천궁, 백작약, 승마, 시호 및 눈꽃동충하초 투여군에서 apoptosis는 감소되었으며, 이들 생약제는 apoptosis와 관련된 질병의 예방 및 치료에 적용할 수 있을 것이다. 추 후 이들 생약의 작용 기전에 대한 연구가 요구된다. This study was performed to determine the effect of several herbs on radiation-induced apoptosis in jejunal crypt cells. Longyanrou(Euphoris longana), Suanzaoren(Zizyphus vulgaris), Yuanzhi(Polygala tenuifolia), Rensan(Panax ginseng), Fuling(Poria cocos), Muxiang(Saussurea lappa), Chuanxiong(Cnidium officinale), Baishaoyao(Paeonia lactifolia), Shengma(Cimicifuga heracleifolia), Chaihu(Bupleurum falcatum) and Dongchongxiacao(Paecilomyces japonica) reduced the frequency of radiation-induced apoptosis(p<0.05). Although the mechanisms of this effect remain to be elucidated, these results indicated that Longyanrou, Suanzaoren, Yuanzhi, Rensan, Fuling, Muxiang, Chuanxiong, Baishaoyao, Shengma, Chaihu and Dongchongxiacao might be useful inhibitors of apoptosis, especially since these are relative nontoxic natural products.
