        Thymoma is associated with myasthenia gravis, Pure red cell aplasia, and autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, and hypogammaglobulinemia. It's association with aplastic anemia is rare and aplastic anemia appearing after surgical removal of thymoma is especially rare. The authors hereby report a case of aplastic anemia occuring in a patient who was diagnosed with thymoma and myasthenia gravis and had the tumor surgically removed. The patient was treated with anti-thymocyte globulin, cyclosporin, and prednisolone, and showed partial remission with hematologic improvements after 12 months.

      • Ethanol 전처치가 chloroform에 의한 급성 간 병변에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구

        In an attempt to elucidate the cytopathological effects of acute alcohol intoxication on acute hepatotoxic cellular change induced by chloroform, Sprague-Dawley rats as control animals were injected with 0.2m1/kg of chloroform intraperitoneally and the experimental animals were intoxicated with 1ml, 2ml and 3ml/kg of ethyl alcohol for three consecutive days before chloroform administration. The mortality and cytopathological changes in the control and experimental groups were as follows: 1. The mortality of the control was 10.0%, and those of the experimental groups intoxicated with 3ml, 6ml, and 9ml/kg of ethyl alcohol were 20.0%, 25.0% and 65% respectively. It is evident that the larger dose of ethyl alcohol induced higher mortality in the experimental animals. 2. Vacuolar degeneration and fatty change of the hapatic cells in the control group showed mild to moderate within 48 experimental hours and disappeared thereafter. The changes in the experimental groups were more marked in degree and longer in duration than those of the control. 3. Necrotic change of the hepatic lobules in the control group were observed to a mild degree within 48 experimental hours, and disappeared thereafter. The necrotic changes in the experimental groups were more severe in degree and lasted longer than the control. 4. Regeneration of hepatic cells in the control group showed moderately active from 48 to 72 experimental hours, and achieved almost normal structure after 72 experimental hours, whereas in the 9ml alcohol pretreated groups is appeared more slowly and milder in degree than the control. The above results suggest that the mortality of the experimental animals and the necrotic changes of the liver cells showed higher incidence, and were more marked and extensive in the experimental groups in dose related order. Regenerative changes of the hepatic cells were less achieved in experimental groups, especially in the group intoxicated with the larger dose, 9ml/kg of ethyl alcohol.

Unity 3D Engine to provide several features in the production of the game, basically, terrain making, Unity 3D Engine from collision, particle effects and AI of the enemies is set to create a game using only one genre FPS not be enough to be an element of fun to think that the basic framework of the FPS genre adventure genre of games by adding the elements of the game more fun.

        이트리아 첨가 붕규산염 유리로 제조한 알루미나-유리 복합체의 파괴인성 평가

        The study was performed to evaluate the fracture toughness of dental alumina-glass. Alumina compacts were prepared by press 150㎏/㎠ and sintering at 1100℃ for 2hrs. Dense composites were made by infiltrating partially sintered alumina with four different borosilicate glasses containing 1, 3, 6, 9 mol% Yttria(Y₂O₃) at 1200℃ for 6hrs. Apparent porosity was measured by the KS L 3114 principle method. Fracture toughness values were about ∼4.72 MPa·m½. Porosity rates of alumina-glass composites were about 0.2%. The fracture surface of the alumina-glass composites showed a Palmqvist crack pattern at the fracture origin and indicated a tendency by the frictional interlocking between the microstructurally rough fracture surfaces.

      • Ethanol이 Aflatoxin B1에 의해 유발되는 백서 간 전종양성 병변에 미치는 영향

        This study attempts to elucidate whether ethanol alters aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) induced experimental preneoplastic lesions. A total of 86 Sprague-Dawley male rats were used in the experiment and were divided into four groups : the control group, the ethanol treated group, the AFB1 treated group and the ethanol + AFB1 treated group. Ethanol(2.5g/kg) was administered daily together with the simultaneous administration of AFB1 (1mg/kg) at one hour intervals, using a nasogastric tube, two times per week, for 12 weeks. The control group was given a similar volume of distilled water or dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO). DMSO used to dissolve the AFB1(1mg AFB1 to 0.1ml DMSO). The animals were sacrificed at the 4th, 8th and 12th week of the experiment. Changes were observed using light microscopy, electron microscopy, immunohistochemical staining, and serum enzyme tests. The followings are the results: Light microscopically, the normal hepatic lobular structures were distorted and replaced by altered foci at the fourth experimental week, and then were replaced by basophilic nodules, eosinophilic nodules, clear to vacuolated nodules, and hyperplastic areas at the 8th or 12th experimental week. The hyperplastic areas were distinct from the discrete basophilic, vacuolated, and eosinophilic nodular lesions compressing the surrounding parenchyma. There was a decrease in the intensity of the PAS staining in the nodules, compared with that of the control. Electron microscopically, the ethanol-only treated group showed proliferation of smooth endoplasmic reticulum(SER) and accumulation of lipid vacuoles at the 4th and 8th experimental week, and the degree of these changes became severe at the 12th experimental week, with deposition of collagen fibers. The AFB1-treated group showed variations in the size and form of the mitochondriae, shortened or depleted microvilli, proliferation or blebbing of the SER, disorganization of the rough endoplasmic reticulum, free ribosomes, irregularly shaped nuclei and nuclear membrane, and nucleolar segregation of fibrillar and granular elements. These changes varied depending on experimental weeks and the degree of severity was proportional to the experimental duration. Also, these changes was more severe in the ethanol + AFB1 treated group, compared with those of the AFB1-only treated group. Serum enzymes such as ALT, AST, ALP, TG, and GGT increased in the ethanol or AFB1 treated group, compared with those of the control group. These enzyme values were higher in the ethanol + AFB1 treated group than those in the AFB1 only treated group. The glutathione S-transferase placental form positive(GST-P +) hepatic foci were prominent in the AFB1 or ethanol + AFB1 treated group, although they were not seen in the control group. They were scored by comparing the areas(mm^(2)) per cm^(2) of GST-P + foci in the liver with those of the corresponding control group. Among the experimental groups, the values were highest in the ethanol + AFB1 treated group. Also, the altered foci on the H & E slides were at the same sites as the GST-P positive areas. The above results suggest that the glutathione S-transferase placental form positive(GST-P +) hepatic foci are subjectively useful markers for morphologic preneoplastic lesions, and that the ethanol exacerbated the GST-P + areas of the AFB1-induced preneoplastic lesions.

      • 캔음료중 epichlorohydrin 의분석법에 관한 연구

        캔식품중에 잔류하는 epichlorohydrin을 분석하기 위한 pu링e & trap-Cc/uf통D 분석법을 확립하여 캔의 lacauer 코팅제에서 식품으로 이행되어 잔류하는 epichtorohydfn을 측정하고, 식품유사용매에 의한 용출시험을 통해 일일추정섭취량을 산출하였다. epichlorohydrin의 검량선은 y=0.0006x+0.OO6?(R큰0.9983)의 직선성·라 0.05#ga의 검출한계를 나타내었다. 각종 음료 및 식품유사용매에 일정량의 epichlorohydrin을 첨가한 후 분석하였을 때 회수을은 72~91%였으며, 실제 시판되는 f5건의 캔음료 중 잔류하는 epichlorohydrin을 측정한 결과 모든 캔음료에서 검출한계(0.1#94) 이하였다. 제관업체에서 구입한 modifed epoxy, epoxy phenolic, vinyl organosol, epoxy phenol ester 등의 BADGE(bisphenol A diglycidyt ether)형 에폭시수지로 lacquer 코팅된 식품용 캔에 식품윤사용매인 10% 또는 95% 에탄올을 층L진한 후 90~121'c의 드라이오븐에서 30분~2시간동안 용출시켰을 패 캔의 lacquer 코팅재에서 식품유사용매로 이행되는 epichBorollydirn은 코팅재질, 그리고 가열온도 및 시간에 문관하게 모든 캔에서 검출한계(0.4#ga)이하 였다. 위의 용출결과를 FD.f_의 "Recommendation for Chemistry Data for Indirect Food Additive Petition" 윽 일일추정섭취량 산출법에 적용하여 얻은 epichtorohydrin의 일딜추정 섭 취 량은 0.2r조persorday이하였다. A sensitive ana1?~7tical method based on gas cl)romatogFapy~mass spectrometry with a selected ion monitoring (GE/hfS-Slhf) and the purge-and-trap concentrator ))·asdeveloped for determining ot'epicillorohydrin in canr;ed be)#erages coated with eporl· resin. Thecalibration rurve in the ranre of 0.j ~50nr had'correlation coefficient of 0.9983 and detection limit of 0.Osrga. Recoveries of epichlorohydrin spiked to beverages were in the range of 72 ~91% with detection limits of 0.1 #ga. fn survey of epichlorohydff in twenty commercialcanned beverage samples, epichlorohydrin was not found in all the samples with the detectionlimit of 0.1 r9a. In migration test of various cans coated with BADGE-based coating cans;modifed epoxy, epoxy phenolic, vinyl organosol, epox?· phenol ester were exposed to the foodsimulants of 10% ethanol and 95% ethanol. flfo delectable epichlorohydrin migrated to foodsiHulants was found in aTl the cars with detection Jimit of 0.4 #9/L. Using the miEration data,along uTith the applicstion of food and beverage cans complied with FDA's "Recommendationfor Chemlstry Data f,3r Indirect Food Additive Petition" , the potential dietary exposure toepichlorohydrin was estlmated to be under 0.2rf/person/day.

        구강외과 수술용 스텐트 기반 영상유도 수술 시스템의 개발

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop a stent-based image guided surgery system and to apply it to oral and maxillofacial surgeries for anatomically complex sites. Materials and Methods : We devised a patient-specific stent for patient-to-image registration and navigation. Threedimensional positions of the reference probe and the tool probe were tracked by an optical camera system and the relative position of the handpiece drill tip to the reference probe was monitored continuously on the monitor of a PC. Using 8 landmarks for measuring accuracy, the spatial discrepancy between CT image coordinate and physical coordinate was calculated for testing the normality. Results : The accuracy over 8 anatomical landmarks showed an overall mean of 0.56±0.16 mm. The developed system was applied to a surgery for a vertical alveolar bone augmentation in right mandibular posterior area and possible interior alveolar nerve injury case of an impacted third molar. The developed system provided continuous monitoring of invisible anatomical structures during operation and 3D information for operation sites. The clinical challenge showed sufficient accuracy and availability of anatomically complex operation sites. Conclusion : The developed system showed sufficient accuracy and availability in oral and maxillofacial surgeries for anatomically complex sites. (Korean J Oral Maxillofac Radiol 2009; 39 : 149-56)
