In recent days, the granulocyte transfusion is re-emerging because several investigators reported the effectiveness of large granulocytes (mord than 2×10^(10)per day) to control life-threatening infections for severe neutropenic patients. Application of continuous cell separators as well as erythrocyte sedimentation enhancing agents (hydroxyethylstarch, HES) made it possible to collect enough therapeutic number of granulocytes from a single donor. To increase the efficiency of granulocyte collection we gave G-CSF to normal donors at least 12 hours before harvest. Also, 10% pentastarch solution (low molecular weight-HES) which has minimal side effects compared with 6% hetastarch (high molecular weight-HES) was used to enhance erythrocyte sedimentation during centrifugation. We measured the vitro effect of HESs on the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) of peripheral whole blood depending their concentrations; the ESR (mm/hr) of 10% PS was significantly higher than that of 6% PS or HS(39.19±11.52 vs 11.62±7.26 or 15.23±6.86, p< 0.01) and that of PBS (5.17±2.85, p< 0.01). We compared the efficiency of granulocyte collection between G-CSF treated (n=9) and untreated (n=30) donors: the total number of granulocytes in the latter cases ranged 0.2 to 1.7×10^(10) (median 2.9×10^(10)) (p<0.01). Of interest, the peripheral WBC counts of donors when the counts were over 10,000/mm³ on the day of collection, correlated with the yield of granulocytes in the final products (r=0.75). Except one donors who had peripheral WBC count more than 10,000/mm³ without G-CSF, all cases showing peripheral WBC count over 10,000/mm³ had received G-CSF before collection. Furthermore, the WBC kinetics in G-CSF trealed donors showed that the peripheral WBC counts rose over 10,000/mm³ quickly (within 12 hours) and sustained during the period of injection. Among three neutropenic patients who had been received large dose grannlocgtes daily due to definitive critical infection, two patients (one in induction for ALL, and the other in early recovery phase of allogeneic BMT for severe aplastic anernia) recovered completely. However one who firstly diagnosed as SAA showed only temporary responses during granulocyte transfusion. Therefore, we suggest that (1) collection of large dose of granulocytes using a continuous cell separator with 10% PS is possible from a donor when pretreated by G-CSF, (2) such therapeutic granulocyte transfusion is effective to control life-threatening infections of severe neutropenic patients whose granulocyte counts are expected to recover within several days.

휴대용 장치는 폼팩터의 크기 때문에 일반적으로 작은 화면을 가진다. 따라서 휴대용 장치에서 작은 화면으로 GUI를 사용하기가 힘들다. 이 논문에서는 Ubiquitous Space User Interface (UUI)를 제안함으로써 공간 자원을 활용하여 사용자가 휴대용 장치를 효율적이고 쉽게 제어하고 사용할 수 있도록 한다. UUI 환경에서는 휴대용 장치의 작은 GUI 환경을 다양한 물체를 포함하는 3D 물리 공간으로 확장시킨다. 즉, 휴대용 장치의 가상 아이콘이 마치 데스크탑의 바로 가기 아이콘처럼 3D 물리 공간에 매핑이 되는 것이다. 이러한 공간 자원을 활용하기 위해 링 형태의 3D 포인팅 장치가 개발되었다. 따라서 사용자는 작은 화면의 작은 아이콘을 사용하는 대신에 3D 물리 공간의 가상아이콘을 포인팅 장치를 이용하여 포인팅 함으로써 프로그램을 선택할 수 있게 된다. 또한 사용자는 이를 이용하여 프로그램을 실행 혹은 멈출 수 있게 된다. 우리는 중요한 시스템 파라미터를 추출하기 위하여 다수의 시뮬레이션을 거쳤으며 이를 실제 UUI 시스템에 적용하여 실제로 구현을 하였다. A mobile device generally has a small display due to its compact form factor. It is definitely inconvenient touse the traditional Graphical User Interface (GUI) with a small display. In this paper, we propose the UbiquitousSpace User Interface (UUI) system which allows people to efficiently and easily control a mobile device usingspatial resources. In UUI, the small GUI environment of a mobile device is expanded into the 3D physical spacewhich includes various physical objects. The virtual icon of a program in a mobile device is mapped to 3Dphysical space as if making a shortcut icon in Desktop. A ring-type 3D pointing device has been developed tomanipulate the spatial resources. A user can select a program by pointing to a virtual icon in the physical spacewith the pointing device instead of clicking a tiny icon on a small touch screen. A user can also execute or stop a program with it. We have conducted a sort of simulations in design step toextract important system parameters and used these results to implement the prototype of UUI system.
高血壓 白鼠에서의 腦神經細胞膜을 通한 칼슘移動에 關한 硏究

To investigate the change of Na-pump and Ca-transport in the synaptosome of hypertensive rats, right kidney of Sprague-Dawley rat was removed and left renal artery was cliped(external diameter, 0.38mm). After 3 to 4 weeks, We prepared synaptosome from cerebrum of normotensive and hypertensive rats, and carried out the experiments of ouabain binding, and Ca-uptake. In te experiment of ouabain binding, in hypertensive rats Kd was not changed but Bmax was decreased, compared to those in the normotensive rats. Ca-uptake in the Na-buffer was not changed, but KCI-induced Ca-uptake was increased in the both group, but more increased in the hypertensive rat. In the present of nifedipine, KC1-induced Ca-uptake was inhibited about 30-50% in the both group. From these results, it is suggested that decreased number of Na-pump and increased calcium transport via calcium channel might be important in the pathogenesis of hypertension.

The reactivity increase of unsubstituted energetic compound in cyclic ethers was found in order of three-membered cyclic form < five-membered cyclic form < four-membered cylclic form. The nucleophilicity and basicity of cyclic ethers can be explained by the negative charge on oxygen atom of cyclic ethers. The reactivity of propagation in the polymerization of cylclic ehters can be represented by the positive charge on carbon atom and the LUMO energy of active species of cyclic ethers.
