Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) is South Korea’s first space exploration mission, developed by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. It aims to develop technologies for lunar exploration, explore lunar science, and test new technologies. KPLO was launched on August 5, 2022, by a Falcon-9 launch vehicle from cape canaveral space force station (CCSFS) in the United States and placed on a ballistic lunar transfer (BLT) trajectory. A total of four trajectory correction maneuvers were performed during the approximately 4.5-month trans-lunar cruise phase to reach the Moon. Starting with the first lunar orbit insertion (LOI) maneuver on December 16, the spacecraft performed a total of three maneuvers before arriving at the lunar mission orbit, at an altitude of 100 kilometers, on December 27, 2022. After entering lunar orbit, the commissioning phase validated the operation of the mission mode, in which the payload is oriented toward the center of the Moon. After completing about one month of commissioning, normal mission operations began, and each payload successfully performed its planned mission. All of the spacecraft operations that KPLO performs from launch to normal operations were designed through the system operations design process. This includes operations that are automatically initiated post-separation from the launch vehicle, as well as those in lunar transfer orbit and lunar mission orbit. Key operational procedures such as the spacecraft’s initial checkout, trajectory correction maneuvers, LOI, and commissioning were developed during the early operation preparation phase. These procedures were executed effectively during both the early and normal operation phases. The successful execution of these operations confirms the robust verification of the system operation.

This study was aimed to applicate as the basic data for the presentation of International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) guideline and for breeding new cultivars through qualitative characteristics of nut in chestnut hybrids. In nut shape, oval type, 85.30%, could be observed in all combinations, and triangle type, 3.78%, in K×R, K×O, E×R, I×R, J×O, and oblong type, 5.46%, in R×O, I×O, E×O, I×R, respectively. Both dark and reddish brown, 49.16% and 38.24%, in nut color were observed in all combinations, and nut pericarp hairs in only K×R, R×K could be observed in whole part. The density of its hair showed above middle rank (92.86%) in most of combinations, and the size of hilum area showed above middle rank in only E×O, K×O and E×R. Ten combinations except K×O showed a good condition in nut luster, and two or three types of three split type could be observed in all combinations, simultaneously. Superior individuals, RO-22 and RO-25, showed oblong and dark brown, but others except OK-2 showed oval and reddish brown in nut shape and nut color, respectively. In position of nut pericarp hair, only OK-2 showed stigma part, but all of superior individuals except IO-15 showed thickness in its density. Only JO-7 and RO-25 were smaller than others in size of hilum area, and JO-7, OK-4, OK-15, RO-22 and RO-25 had nuts with excellent luster. Most of individuals had nuts with two or three types in type of nut split, and JO-7, JO-12, IO-15 and OK-15 showed only single type. In peeling rate, OK-2, OK-4 and OK-15 showed around 20% while RO-25 and JO-12 showed 78.6% and 72.4% being considered as superior individuals for roasted chestnuts.

Steroid cell tumor is a rare ovarian sex cord-stromal tumor which accounts for 0.1% of all ovarian tumors. Until now, only 4 cases have been reported in domestic literatures. Steroid cell tumor often secrets testosterone and presents virilization in adult women or precocious puberty in children. Treatment is often performed by surgical removal, adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation, but completely accepted treatment was not existed. We experienced a case of steroid cell tumor, which was manifested by typical virilization in a 43-year old patient, who was previously performed hysterectomy and unilateral oophorectomy. So, we present with a brief review of the literatures.

최근 난치성 정신분열증 환자에서 가장 효과적인 약으로 알려진 clozapine은 골수에 작용하여 심각한 부작용인 무과립 구증을 일으킬 수 있다. 무과립구증의 원인 및 기전에 대한 연구는 매우 많으나 현재까지 확실한 결론이 나지 않은 상태이다. 저자들은 clozapine의 이러한 골수 독성에 근거하여 clozapine이 인체내에서 염색체에 어떤 변화를 주는지 아닌지를 알아보기 위해 clozapine 단독치료를 시행한 환자에게서 치료전과 치료중에 얻어진 말초혈액 림프구를 배양하여 염색체에 어떤 변화가 생기는지를 조사하였으나, clozapine에 의한 염색체의 자발적인 변이는 관찰되지 않았다. Objective : Many drugs and environmental chemicals can induce aneuploidy or chromosome instability in vivo or in vitro. Modification of the fidelity of cellular division may occur via a variety of mechanisms and chemical interactions. The clozapine is new antipsychotic drug with superior effect than classic antipsychotics. But, it may produce agranulocytosis and seizure in some patients. Agranulocytosis is a serious side effect of this drug but the cause and mechanism of this side effect is not clearly explained. Some study suggested that oxidative stress can induce chromosome aberration and the other study suggested that clozapine produce free radical and it can induce oxidative stress on some kind of cells. Therefore we decided to investigate whether clozapine and its metabolites can induce genotoxic effect in vivo. Method : The patients were chronic schizophrenic patients without a treatment at least one year. Diagnosis was made by DSM-IV criteria and agreed by both of two psychiatrists. Blood sampling was done before the treatment and during the treatment with considerable time interval. We used peripheral blood lymphocyte culture method and we counted the numerical aberrations, sister chromatid exchanges. Results : Chromosome aberration was not detected in all samples. Conclusion : Clozapine did not induce spontaneous chromosome aberration to human lymphocytes in vivo.

Atrial septal defect is common congenital heart disease in children. Inheritance follows the multifactorial mode primarily but in certain families autosomal dominant transmission is evident. In Korea, there has been no case report of twins with ASD or any other congenital heart diseases in children, while there have been several reports of sildings and twins with ASD or other congenital heart diseases in other countries. Herewith we report a monozygotic pair of twins with atrial septal defects who were diagnosed by cardioc catheterizarion and confirmed by operation, with brief reriew of the literature.
도농간 교육격차 해소를 위한 농촌지역 유형별 교육혁신 추진과제 탐색

이 연구는 교육혁신에 대한 이론적 고찰을 토대로 농촌지역 교육혁신 성공요소를 도출하고, 농촌의 지역특성을 고려하여 도농간 교육격차 해소를 위한 농촌지역 유형별 추진과제를 제시하는 데 목적이 있었다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 문헌고찰 및 사례연구를 실시하였고, 연구결과의 타당성 확보를 위해 전문가협의회를 실시하였다. 농촌지역 교육혁신 성공요소는 마을공부방 운영 등 26개가 최종적으로 도출되었다. 또한 농촌지역 교육혁신모형을 개발하여 목표와 전략을 수립하고, 이를 기초로 농촌지역 유형별 추진과제를 제시하였다. 농촌지역 교육혁신의 비전은 "도농간 교육격차 해소를 위한 교육혁신 실현으로 살고 싶은 농촌지역 구현" 으로 설정하고, 이를 달성하기 위한 목표는 도시수준의 교육기회 제공, 농촌형 수월성 교육 추구, 지역 인적자원개발로 설정하였다. 농촌지역 유형별 중점적으로 추진해야 할 과제는 발전 농촌지역은 마을 공부방 운영 및 학습도우미 지원, 중간수준 농촌지역은 교육환경 개선, 장학금 지원 및 다양한 교육기회 제공, 저개발 농촌지역은 기존 지원 유지, 적극적 학습 지원 및 교원의 근무여건 개선, 도농복합 농촌지역에서는 교통편의 제공, 학습기회 개선 및 학부모의 교육참여 유도 등이 선정되었다. 그리고 농촌지역 유형별 중점 추진과제에 대한 단계별 로드맵과 이를 적용하기 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하였다. The purpose of this research was to derive success factors and explore actions plan for the education innovation of rural areas for releasing education gaps between urban and rural areas. For the purpose, the researcher carried out literature reviews and case analysis were conducted, and experts council were executed. As a result, 26 success factors for the education innovation of rural area were derived. And, this study suggested the education innovation model of rural area including goals and strategies to identify action plan for the education innovation by types of rural areas. The vision of the education innovation model was making the place pleasant to live in by doing education innovation for releasing education gaps between urban and rural areas. The goals of the education innovation model were to provide urban-level educational opportunities, to pursue rural-customized education for excellency and to develope local human resources. This study identified several core tasks corresponding to each rural area: additional establishment and operation of village study-rooms and support for learning assistant system for highly-developed rural areas; improvement of educational condition and provision of scholarship and various educational opportunities for middle-developed rural areas; maintenance of existing support, active learning-support and improvement of teachers' working conditions for lowly-developed rural areas; provision of traffic convenience, improvement of learning opportunities and promotion of parents' educational participation for urban-rural complex areas. Moreover, this study suggested roadmap according to action plan divided by types of rural areas, and political proposal for effective actualization of that.
