In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

Horseshoe Appliance를 이용한 III 급 부정교합의 치험례

성장기 아동의 치열은 대부분 혼합 치열로,이 시기에는 유치 탈락 또는 계승치 미맹출로 인해 치열에 빈 공간이 많아 지고,계승치가 맹출되었다 하더라도 고정성 장치를 부착시키고 강한 호선을 적용시키기는 매우 어렵다. 이런 치료 진행의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 horseshoe 장치가 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 이 장치는 치열에 빈 공간이 있는지의 여부에 관계없이 장치 제작이 가능하며,치열 상태와 무관하게 전 치열을 하나로 묶어준다. 그리고 구강내에 이미 맹출된 치아의 모든 치면을 피개하므로 치아의 정출과 회전이 발생하지 않으면서 악간 고무줄의 힘에 의해 치조골의 골개조가 상악과 하악 치궁에서 서로 반대 방향으로 유도된다. 경희대학교 치대병원 소아치과에 내원한 환아에서,Horseshoe Appliance를 이용하여 III급 부정교합에서 양호한 결과를 얻었기에 보고하는 바이다. In mixed dentition there exists many empty spaces in the arch due to eruption of permanent teeth and exfoliation of primary teeth. The empty spaces makes it difficult to apply fixed orthodontic appliances. Horseshoe Appliance can be used effectively at this stage, holding the whole dentition in one piece, It covers every surface of erupted teeth and prevents extrusion and rotation of single tooth. By using intermaxillary elastic force, remodeling of the alveolar bone is opposite in each arch. In patients who were treated with horseshoe appliance, forward growth of maxilla, labioversion of maxillary incisors and linguoversion of mandibular incisors were obtained. Minimum downward and clockwise rotation of mandible was shown, so increasing anterior facial height was minimized.

천추 갈색종양(Brown tumor)으로 발현된 부갑상선 기능항진증 1예

부갑상선 기능항진증에 의한 골병변으로 갈색종양이 있다. 갈색종양은 주로 장골을 침범하고 척추골에서의 발생은 매우 드물다. 국내의 보고에서 갈색종양의 장골 침범은 있었으나, 척추골에서의 발생은 보고된바 없다 .저자들은 부갑상선 기능항진증으로 인하여 척추골의 천추에 발생된 갈색종양 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. The bony involvement in primary hyperparathyroidism present as browm tumor or osteitis fibrosa cystica and lead to pathologic fracture. Brown tumor commonly involve long bone such as femur, tibia, fibula, humerus, and radius. Brown tumor of axial skeleton is a rare entity. Previously reported case that involve axial skeleton still not present. We report a 47-year-old male patient that he has a hyperparathyroidism presenting as brown tumor involving sacrum.

갑상선암의 분자표지자들에 관한 고찰

The incidence of thyroid cancer has been rapidly increased in Korea. Although fine needle aspiration cytology is recommended for diagnosis of cancer, there are some limitations. Patients with indeterminate or suspicious cytology category in which malignancy cannot be ruled out usually undergone a thyroidectomy, however, only 10∼25% of them finally diagnosed as cancer. According to the progress in understanding molecular mechanism, some mutations or other molecular alterations have been studied for the diagnostic and prognostic markers for thyroid cancer. The majority of papillary thyroid cancers have BRAF and RAS mutations or RET/PTC rearrangement, and approximately 80% of follicular thyroid cancers harbor a RAS mutation or PAX8/PPARg rearrangement. These genetic alterations are mostly studied and current clinical guidelines suggested that these molecular markers may help management for patients with indeterminate cytology. In addition, recent studies demonstrated the high sensitivity and specificity of thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor mRNA in diagnosing cancer in patients with indeterminate cytology. For the detection of recurrent or residual thyroid cancer, serum thyroglobulin is the only circulating marker in clinical practice. However, it lacks sensitivity and is unreliable specifically in the presence of antibodies to thyroglobulin. Recent studies demonstrated a significant role of measuring the mRNA of thyroglobulin, thyroid peroxidase, thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor, and sodium/iodine symporter in peripheral blood for monitoring of the recurrence of thyroid cancer.

바렉터 다이오드를 이용한 가변 BPF 설계 및 제작

This paper presents a tunable filter that can be used in front stage of UWB receiver operating under 2GHz frequency range. It presents the optimum design method of comb-line structure tunable filter keeping the fixed bandwidth and attenuation characteristic in the tunable frequency range. This filter is implemented by applying a tunable capacitor, obtained by reverse-biased varactor diode, to a capacitor used in SIR structure. As a result of tunable filter measurement, the center frequency was little moved down. Its bandwidth was almost corresponded with the result of a simulation but did not meet the given 100MHz bandwidth.

식생활 의식과 식습관이 음식물 쓰레기의 감량과 재활용에 미치는 영향

The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of housewives' dietary awareness and habits on the reduction and recycling of food waste products. We have done statistical analyses of 501 questionnaires answered by housewives living in Taegu city. The results are as follows: The dietary awareness is significantly different according to the housewives' ages. The group of above 50's age, and the group of housewives and their husbands with a lower education level have a more traditional awareness and eating up habits. Also the younger group, and those with a higher education level who grew up in a big city have a more progressive dietary awareness. But the younger, higher income, small family, higher education level groups, and also employed housewives, produced more food waste products than the other groups. The groups those have traditional or rational awareness concerning dietary awareness, and those with good eating up and accurate cooking habits turned out to have more affirmative effects on the reduction and recycling of food waste products.

난소 갑상선종의 1예

Struma ovarii is a mature cystic teratoma of the ovary. It is an uncommon tumor accounting for 2.7% of all ovarian teratomas and composed totally or in overwhelming proportion of thyroid tissues. When thyroid tissue constitutes more than 50% of the tumor, it is usually called a struma ovarii. Grossly, they are encapsulated, several centimeters in diameter and have a red, shiny, and meaty surface. Microscopically, the tumor is composed of mature thyroid tissue consisting of various sizes, lined by a single layer of columnar or flattened epithelium. The clinical behavior is benign and simple excision is adequate treatment. We have experienced a case of struma ovarii arising from the left ovary. So, we report this case with review of literatures.

Er ließ sich von den neuen Einfl U ·· ssen des Rococo mitreißen und wandelte sich zum Sch o ·· ngeist, der große literarische Kenntnisse machte, und begann vor ihm entz U ·· ckt zu sein. In Leipzig wurde er seit 1766 mit der Tochter der Wirtsleute, Anna Katharina bekannt und verliebte sich in sie, aber das Verh a ·· ltnis endete zu guter Letzt mit einer freundschaftlichen Trennung. In der Laune des Verliebten, das der Form und dem Inhalt nach auf die Sch a ·· ferst U ·· cke des Rococo zur U ·· ckgeht, zeichnete er selbst den Drang seiner siedenden Leidenschaft. Die Lyriken der Straßburger Zeit, die Goethes Liebe zu Friederike verdanken, geh o ·· ren zu dieser ersten Erlebnislyrik der deutschen Literatur. Hier erlebte er mit Ersch U ·· tterung die Gr o ·· ße der gotischen Baukunst am Straßburger M U ·· nster. Und durch Herder wurde Goethe mit der Gedankenwelt Hamanns "Poesie ist die Muttersprache der Menschheit" bekannt und o ·· ffnete den Blick f U ·· r die Volkspoesie, in der er dichterischer Gestaltungskraft erkannte. 유동화제와 시멘트 풍화에 따른 콘크리트 유동특성과 강도특성

Recently as construction industry become large-sized and complex, construction type of the saving-energy is recommended. So, practical technology of high-flowabillity concrete to solve placabillity and workability is more attracted. This study is regarding the series of experiment carried out to identity effect on flowing and compressive strength due to super plasticizer and cement weathering. As a result of flow test to identify fluidity of cement, cement fluidity increase as the cement weathering increase. However, the fluidity after 1 hour was not measured in all cases except the cement paste using the polycarbonate. The results of compressive tests of concrete show that early compressive strength is extremely decreased with the cement weathering. Especially, strength loss of the 4th step of cement weathering is more then 65%, compared to the strength of concrete using the fresh cement. Polycarbonate produces higher 1 day compressive strength then others and Naphthalene sulphonate produces higher 38 day compressive strength then others.
