Previously, Gum Metal (Ti-24(Nb + Ta + V)-(Zr, Hf)-O (at%)) exhibiting an ultralow Young`s modulus, ultrahigh strength and super elasticity was developed by Saito et al., who proposed that three electronic magic numbers, an average electron/atom (e/a) ratio of 4.24, an average bond order (Bo) of about 2.87, and an average “d” electron-orbital energy level (Md) of about 2.45 eV, should be satisfied simultaneously to obtain such “super” properties. The purpose of this study was to find new alloy systems possessing those properties and to examine the effect of beta equivalent content ([Mo]eq) on Young`s moduli of new alloys having the same three electronic numbers mentioned above. It was found that not only three electronic numbers but also [Mo]eq should be considered to obtain a similar Young`s modulus and hardness with respect to the Gum Metal.
트리플헬릭스가 해체될 때 산학협력 지속가능성의 조직생태학적 접근: 산학협력센터의 존폐 사례를 중심으로

[연구목적] 정부-대학-산업계의 트리플헬릭스 모델은 다양한 형태의 변화를 통해 서로간의 성장을 촉진하고 상호 발전할 수 있는 방안을 제도화하여 모델의 정당성을 확보하였다. 이 모델을 통해 20여년이상 구축된 산학협력생태계는 조직의 밀도의존성을 높였으나, 정부지원이 종료되는 등의 환경변화에 따른 조직의 사멸률 또한 증가하는 결과를 낳았다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 생태계에서 살아남는 조직이 존재하였고 그 요인을 밝히고자 하는 것이 이 연구의 목적이다. [연구방법] 연구를 위해 트리플헬릭스, 지속가능성, 조직생태학에 관한 이론들과 미국의 센터 운영 성공 및 실패사례 등을 충분히 검토하였다. 이후, 한국의 정부 지원이 종료된 산학협력센터를 대상으로 산학협력의 지속가능성을 조직생태학적 관점으로 접근하여 적소, 변이, 선택, 보존의 요인을 추출하였다. [연구결과] 결론적으로, 트리플헬릭스가 해체될 때 산학협력생태계의 지속가능 요인으로 산학협력코디네이터 등 핵심인력의 리더십과 전문성, 지역산업 특화발굴전략, 네트워크 폭의 다양성과 지속성, 기관의 지원의지가 필요함을 밝힌다. [연구의 시사점] 본 연구는 산학협력 핵심조직과 장기간 구축된 네트워크가 해체되지 않고 효과적으로 활용되도록 정부의 제도적 뒷받침이 전제되어야 함을 시사한다. 또한, 그동안 주로 연구되어 온 산학협력 체제, 과정, 성과 등의 연구에 비해 상대적으로 부족한 지속가능성, 생태계 관련 연구에 이론적 기여가 있기를 기대한다. [Purpose] The industry-academic cooperation ecosystem built for more than 20 years through the government-university-industrial triple-helix model increased organizational density dependence, but also resulted in an increase in organizational mortality due to environmental changes such as the end of government support. Nevertheless, there were organizations that survived the ecosystem, and the purpose of this study is to clarify the factors. [Methodology] For the study, the sustainability of industry-university cooperation was approached from the perspective of organizational ecology, targeting the industry-academic cooperation centers for which Korean government support was terminated, and the factors of niche, variation, selection, and retention were extracted. [Findings] In conclusion, it is revealed that the leadership and expertise of key personnel, specialized discovery strategies, diversity and continuity of the network width, and the willingness to support institutions are necessary as the sustainable factors of the industry university cooperation ecosystem. [Implications] This study is expected to make a theoretical contribution to research related to sustainability and ecosystem, which is relatively insufficient compared to research on industry-academic cooperation systems, processes, and achievements that have been mainly studied.

The purposes of this study were 1) to investigate the relationship between theacceptance oF unisex mode and rigidity character and 2) to find out any significantdifference in the acceptance of unisex mode according to grade, major and sex. The questionnaires were administered to 133 female and 174 male college students. The results; 1. The accptance of unisex mode was not related with rigidity character. 2. The acceptance of female unisex mode was higher than male unisex mode. 3. Females showed higher tendency in the acceptance of unisex mode and fashioninnovativeness than males. 4. No significant differences were found in the acceptance of unisex mode accordingto grade and major level.

This study was conducted to investigate the repellent efficacy of essential oils (Origanum vulgare, Pimpinella anisum, and Tanacetum cinerariifolium) and four plant extracts (Agastache rugosa, Capsicum annuum, Citrus reticulata, and Ginkgo biloba) against Tribolium castaneum (adults and larvae) and Plodia interpunctella (larvae). Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis revealed the presence of carvacrol, anethole, and jasmolin I as the predominant constituent in O. vulgare, P. anisum, and T. cinerariifolium, respectively. Furthermore, ethyl hexopyranoside, 9,12‐octadecadienoic acid, cyclopentanol, and 2‐cresol were identified in A. rugosa, C. annuum, C. reticulata, and G. biloba, respectively. The repellent efficacy of each essential oil, plant extract, and the combination of oils was evaluated using a specially designed cylinder trap for 120 h. Among the three oils, O. vulgare and T. cinerariifolium had greatest repellent efficacy against P. interpunctella larvae. T. cinerariifolium exhibited effective repellence against the adults and larvae of T. castaneum. Therefore, O. vulgare (O) and T. cinerariifolium (T) were selected for further investigation of combined effects. Two essential oils were mixed in three different ratios of OT1 (1:3), OT2 (1:1), and OT3 (3:1). The repellent efficacies of OT1 and OT2 against the adults of T. castaneum were significantly greater than that of OT3. OT1 was effective against the larvae of T. castaneum, whereas OT2 was effective against the larvae of P. interpunctella. OT1 enhanced the repellent efficacy by approximately five times against larvae of T. castaneum, compared with that of T. cinerariifolium. Overall, OT1 was selected as the best repellent substance against all the tested insects.

The prevalence of PPNG among pretreated gonorrhea cases isolated at the STD clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul has been studied and reported annually since 1981. In 1991, 123 strains of N.gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 58(47.1%) were PPNG. In 1992, 98 starains of N.gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 51(52.0%) were PPNG. In all, 109(49.3%) strains were found to be PPNG among 221 strains isolated between 1991-1992. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul showed increased tendency till 1989, thereafter, it has been stationary or slightly decreasing.

Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is an autosomal dominant syndrome, typically characterized by multiple colorectal adenomas and increased incidence of colorectal carcinomas if it is not treated. Moreover, a variety of extracolonic manifestation are seen. The prevalence of thyroid tumors developing in patients with FAP is about 1∼2%. Generally, papillary thyroid cancer indicates low mortality but ,however, as people get older, the cancer becomes more aggressive. So, the operation is required. Recently we experienced a case of FAP, presenting with papillary thyroid carcinoma, and reported with a brief review of literatures.
Thermomicrobium roseum 유래 Alcohol Dehydrogenase의 정제 및 특성

Alcohol dehydrogenase from Thermomicrobium roseum was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity approximately 77-fold with a 38% activity yield by adenosine 5'-monophosphate and Mono Q column chromatography. The molecular weight of the enzyme was determined to be approximately 43,000 by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and 88,000 by gel chromatography, indicating a homodimeric structure. The Km and Vmax values of the enzyme for ethanol were 24.2 mM and 12.8 ㎛ol/min/mg, respectively. Pyrazole notably inhibited the enzymatic activity. Ca2+ ion activated the enzyme activity, but Cu2+ inhibited. The activity of the enzyme was optimal at pH 10.0 and 60℃.
