      • 고추의 組織培養에 미치는 植物生長調節濟의 影響

        These experiments were performed to investigate the effects of plant growth regulators on the tissues culture of red pepper. The best callus growth was observed in Murashige & Skoog's media containing 0.2-2.0㎎/l 2, 4-D plus 0.2㎎/l kinetin or BA on the segments of hypocotyl and cotyledon of red pepper. On the medium with 2.0㎎/l zseatin and 0.01㎎/l 2, 4-D somatic embryos were differentiated from embryogenic cell of immature embryo by suspension culture after 5 week-culture and 8 weeks later they were developed into plantlets, while on the medium with 1.0㎎/l BA and 0.05㎎/l NAA the shoot and root were differentiated from callus mass. The addition of brassinolide retarded the formation of somatic embryo, shoot and root. Key words : Brassinolide - BA - Capsicum annuum(red pepper) - embryogenic callus - 2, 4 - D - kinetin - NAA - somatic embryo - zeatin.

        Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is an autosomal dominant syndrome, typically characterized by multiple colorectal adenomas and increased incidence of colorectal carcinomas if it is not treated. Moreover, a variety of extracolonic manifestation are seen. The prevalence of thyroid tumors developing in patients with FAP is about 1∼2%. Generally, papillary thyroid cancer indicates low mortality but ,however, as people get older, the cancer becomes more aggressive. So, the operation is required. Recently we experienced a case of FAP, presenting with papillary thyroid carcinoma, and reported with a brief review of literatures.

      • 韓國의 人口再分布에 관한 計量的 分析

        Several projects for the national economic development plannings since 1960's have brought a tremendous change in the whole nation socially, economically as well as geo-demographically. Since 1975's, advanced industrialization with high technology, achieving a highly economic development, has accelerated urbanization, which on the other hand resulted in a serious lack of labor in the rural area. This serious unbalanced distribution of the population between the urban and the rural area has caused not only political and societal gap between the two areas but also the inefficient use of the land. We, with a very dense population, think that the above problems could be solved partly through strong policies of restraint on population growth and on population migration into the urban area. This study has been done as a base for the policies in the followings. 1. In order to observe the phenomenon of population migration, we analyze time series intra and inter-migration and total migration. 2. To investigate the cyclic phenomenon, seasonal variation analysis on one-year base is considered additionally. 3. We investigate, in macro sense, redistribution of population by showing the migration trend based on the center of population gravity and that of geographic gravity. 4. We end up this study with the possible suggestions for the policy making on the population problem after discussing some predictions of migration trend.

      • 菜蔬類의 原形質體融合에 관한 硏究

        This study was carried out to investigate the optimal conditions for producing somatic cell hybrids of vegetables. The conditions investigated are enzyme concentrations and duration of treatment for isolation of protoplast, concentration of PEG 4000 for fusion of isolated protoplasts, and viability of isolated protoplasts and fused protoplasts. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The size of onion protoplasts which are isolated from white mesophyll tissue is 52.6μm. The size of welsh onion and nanking shallot protoplasts is almost uniform (about 45μm) but the size of tomato and potato protoplasts isolated from callus tissue is various(21 to 86μm). 2. The optimal conc. of enzyme for isolation of protoplasts in the mesophyll tissue of radish, chinese cabbage, welsh onionm, and nanking ahallot are 0.5% macerozyme and 1.0% cellulase. While the onion is 0.5% macerozyme and 1.5% cellulase. 3. The optimal duration of enzyme treatment for produced intact protoplasts were 4hr in chinese cabbage, 5hr in radish, 3hr in welsh onion, and 2hr in nanking shallot and onion respectively. 4. Isolated protoplasts from mesophyll tissus were fused easily and produced the hetero-karyon with 25-35% PEG 4000 in inter-or intraspecies, while protoplasts of tomato and potato derived from cell were not fused easily. 5. The isolated protoplasts were viable until 1-2 days duration of culture, after 3-4 days they were died. The fused protoplasts regenerate cell wall in 1-2 days, while cell division and morphological changes were not observed.

      • Wegener 씨 육아종 증례보고 1예 : A Case Report

        Wegener's granulomatosis is characterized by necrotizing and granulomatous disease which involves upper, lower respiratory tract and kidney. The basic pathophysiologic mechanism of Wegener's granulomatosis is still unknown. We report a case of Wegener's granulomatosis which involved lung and pleura and was diagnosed by clinical symptoms, radiologic findings and anti-neutrophilic cytoplasmic autoantibodies.

      • Anemone의 花粉 2型現象과 葯培養에 關한 硏究

        In order to investigate the effects fo anther stage, optimal basic media, kinds and concentrations of plant growth regulators, sucrose concentrations for callus and embryo formation, pollen dimorphism and low temperature pretreatment of floral bud on the emergence of embryogenic S pollen of Anemone coronaria in vivo or in vitro, anthers of Anemone coronaria were cultured in Murashige & Skoog's(M&S) and Bourgin & Nitsch's(H) basic media with the combination of auxins and cytodinins. The measurement of anther length could be reliable criterion in determining the optimal anther stages, while floral bud length and anther color could not be a reliable criterion because same sized floral buds showed various degree of microspore development. M&S basic media was more effective on callus formation than H basic media. The addition of plant growth regulators of NAA and BA with M&S basic media was effective on callus formation than 2,4-D and kinetin. The best results was obtained from the combination of 0.5mg/l NAA and 2.0 mg/l BA. The best response of calus formation was obtained from 3% sucrose concentration on M&S basic medium supplemented with 0.5mg/l NAA and 2.0mg/l BA. B type of S pollen was formed on each anther stages except anther stage I in vitro. Callus formation was effective just before or just after at first pollen mitosis, while callus formation was less effective at tetrad or mature pollen staes. Low temperature pretreatment on the first pollen mitosis anthers with 1℃ or 5℃ for 10 days induced above 25% of S pollen. Embryogenic S pollen were divided mostly into A type at 10℃ for 10 days pretreatment and rate of B type pollen was appeared 4.3% which was 5 times more than control. Callus formation was effective at 10℃ for 10 days pretreatment.

      • 施設園藝地帶의 環境管理와 微氣象에 관한 硏究

        This studies were carried out to obtain the basic data for rationalizion and modernization of management on horticultural crops in vinyl house. It was investigated from late December to January on micro-meteorology of Kimhae, Sooncheon and Jinju vinyl houses where are producing vegetable crops in vinyl house of a large area. Air temperature in Kimhae vinyl house was heated with hot wind by oil burner. In the others it was kept warm more than 10℃ with only covering materials, but there may have some damages of high temperature and the instabilized production by abnormal climate. Humidity control in Kimhae was suitable comparatively for vegetable crops. In the others districts, however, it was maintained high relative humidity more than 90%. Therefore, cucumber in Sooncheon vinyl house was tender to take a disease and in Jinju it was attacked with powdery mildew. Soil temperatures in Kimbae, Sooncheon and Jinju vinyl houses were kept warm to cultivate crops. Light transmission rates of solar radiation in all vinyl houses were 50% of outdoor. Therefore, it must make an effort to develop the materials and rationalize the management in order to increase it in that places. CO_2 concentration should be increase in Kimhae as minimum CO_2 concentration was decreased to 140 ppm. In the others it was kept more than 250 ppm because of putted straw under soil to protect the cold soil temperature.
