Purpose: The serum prostate specific antigen(PSA) level is known to be related with the total prostate and cancer volumes. After a transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH), a decrease in the serum PSA level is expected. We investigated the relationship between the resected prostate specimen weight and serum PSA level. Materials and Methods: Between July 1998 and March 2003, 372 patients underwent a TURP for the treatment BPH. We performed studies, including digital rectal examination, urinary flow rate, international prostate symptom score, serum PSA levels, and transrectal ultrasound(TRUS) pre-and post-operatively. We compared the resected specimen weight of the prostate with the changes in the serum PSA level using correlation and regression tests as statistical methods. Results: Removal of 1gm of BPH tissue decreased the serum PSA the average level by 0.45±0.25ng/ml. In patients with BPH, there was a strong statistical correlation and a direct proportionality between the resected specimen weight and changes in the serum PSA level(p<0.05). Using the above mentioned statistical methods, the formula y=2.389+0.158x(x= resected specimen weight, y=changes in serum PSA levels) was derived. However, there was no statistical correlation between the two factors in prostate cancer patients. Conclusions: An elevated serum PSA level in patients with BPH is mainly caused by the enlargement of the prostate transition zone. A statistically significant difference was noted between the pre-and post-operative serum PSA levels. However, in patients with prostate cancer, the serum PSA levels showed various postoperative changes. Some patients that underwent a TURP for BPH showed no match on the previously-mentioned formula, and these patients should be carefully followed up, with serum PSA level check-ups and/or a prostate biopsy considered.

This paper is to practice optimal rigidity design by the strain energy density estimation method for static buckling and sizing design sensitivity analysis for dynamic buckling of a nonlinear vehicle frame structure from those results. Using these sizing design sensitivity resutls, an optimization of a nonlinear vehicle frame structure with dynamic buckling constraint is carrried out with the graient projection method.

In this study, using linear and nonlinear deformation theories and by closed-form analysis and finite difference energy methods, respectively, various buckling load factors are obatined for stiffened laminated composite panel with trapezoidal type stiffeners and various longitudinal length to radius ratios, which are made from Carbon/Epoxy USN 125 prepreg and are simply-supported on four edges under uniaxial compression, and then for them, optimal design analyses are carried out by the nonlinear search optimizer, ADS.

본 연구에서는 여러가지 하중조건하에서 단순지지된 보강원통셸의 최소중량화 설계문제를 CONMIN을 사용하여 해석하고, 일반적인 대칭적층[0/.+-..theta./90]$_{s}$ 의 복합 적층원통셸, 복합적층honeycomb sandwich원통셸, 그리고 보강된 복합적층원통셸의 최 소중량화 설계문제에도 확장 적용한다. 설계변수(design variable)로는 등방성재료 인 경우와 복합적층인 경우 최대 9개, 부등제한조건으로는 전체좌굴(general buckling ), 준전체좌굴(panel buckling), 판 및 보강재의 국부좌굴(local cripping), 로링모드 (rolling mode), 그리고 응력과 변형률제한 등의 성질제한조건(behavior constraints) 과 설계변수의 상, 하한을 나타내는 기하학적 제한(side constraints)등 최대 32개를 설정한다. 본 최소중량화 설계예에서는 보강재의 최적단면형상을 검토하기 위하여 직사각형(R)형, I형, 그리고 T형 단면 등의 보강재들을 사용한다. The minimum weight design for simply-supported isotropic or symmetrically laminated stiffened cylindrical shells subjected to various loads (axial compression or combined loads) is studied by a nonlinear mathematical search algorithm. The minimum weight design in accomplished with the CONMIN optimizer by Vanderplaats. Several types of buckling modes with maximum allowable stresses and strains are included as constraints in the minimum weight design process, such as general buckling, panel buckling with either stingers or rings smeared out, local skin buckling, local crippling of stiffener segments, and general, panel and local skin buckling including stiffener rolling. The approach allows the consideration of various shapes of stiffening members. Rectangular, I, or T type stringers and rectangular rings are used for stiffened cylindrical shells. Several design examples are analyzed and compared with those in the previous literatures. The unstiffened glass/epoxy, graphite/epoxy(T300/5208), and graphite/epoxy aluminum honeycomb cylindrical shells and stiffened graphite/epoxy cyindrical shells under axial compression are analyzed through the present approach.
家兎 肝 Mg^2+-非依存型 ADP-ribose Pyrophosphatase에 關한 硏究

Mg^2^+ -independent ADP-ribose pyrophosphatase which does not require Mg^2^+ for its catalytic activity on ADP-ribose was mainly localized in subcellular organelles such as nuclei, mitochondria and microsomes of rabbit liver. The enzyme from rabbit liver nuclei was solubilized by 2% Triton X-100 and purified 50-fold to the specific activity of 105 umoles/hr/mg protein by deae-cellulose chromatography and Sephadex G-200 gel filtration. Paper chromatography revealed that AMP was produced from ADP-ribose by the action of nuclear Mg^2^+ -independent ADP-ribose pyrophosphatase, indicating that the enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ADP-ribose to AMP and ribose-5-phosphate. The molecular weight of the enzyme which had optimal pH of 10.5 and Km value of 1.5mM for ADP-ribose was approximately 550,000 daltons determined by gel filtration on Sephadex G-200 column, suggesting its oligomeric nature.

This study is object to structural analysis comparison of continuous casting mold. A two-dimensional finite element model was developed to compute the temperature distribution, thermal stress and thermal strain behavior for continuous casting mold. For structural analysis using thermal analysis result from ANSYS. In other to structural analysis of continuous casting mold, many variables such as casting speed, cooling condition, film coefficient, convection and load condition are considered.

본 논문에서는 복합적층 평패널의 최소중량화설계를 수행하기 위하여 길이방향 보강재로 보강된 평패널에 축압축 하중이 작용할 경우 좌굴하중을 구한다. 또한 좌굴에 대한 최소중량회설계를 유한차분에너지법을 이용한 선형좌굴이론과 비선형좌굴이론에 의해서 구하고 비선형 탐색 최적설계기법 ADS를 활용하여 해석한다. 복합적층 평패널의 종횡비는 1, 3, 7에 대하여 고려하였다. This study is object to minimum weight design of stiffened laminated composite flat panel. Various buckling load factors are obtained for stiffened laminated composite flat panels with rectangular type longitudinal stiffeners and various aspect ratios, which are made from Carbon/Epoxy USNl50 prepreg and are simply-supported on four edges under uniaxial compression.
