        한국현대시에 나타난 기독교의 구원의식 : 윤동주, 김현승 시를 중심으로 Focus on Poems by Yun Dong-ju and Kim Hyun-seung

        Both Yun and Kim began their poetic activity from the ground where Christianity was unfamiliar, experienced the fierce struggle between absolute truth of God and secular values, and integrated the functions of a poet and a Christian. turning the combination into a tool with which one can discover self-esteem as well as salvation. However, they differ considerably in ways they understand the source of human existence and the awareness of paths one goes through to reach salvation. Readers find poetic value in Yun's works when they discover the integration of the individual struggle rising from instability and loneliness, and the suffering of group caused by deprivation of historical and social positions due to the loss of homeland. To Yun, salvation is something more than individual thing. He is more interested in the land of God as a symbol of 'A thousand years Kingdom'. Yun seeks eternity in this new social order, and it is not something that escapes history but that works as a part of history. In Kim's works, readers find his agony and understanding as a human who stands before God, and the works also show the solitude and sorrow of a human who has lost God. A man meets the Absolute Being, agonizes over his doubt and despair, finds human beings are bound to fate and its sorrow and solitude, and finally accepts himself as he is and his inner struggle and suffering is healed. Kim chooses challenging spirit in order to adopt religion and solitude into his poems, and his attitude leads his to his salvation ultimately. Through sublime process in which the despair he has about religion redeemed with solitude, the poet steps into the true religion. Kim's works show the struggle of human beings go through to get at the nature of religion and to discover true self, and they also show how people, as orphans with parents, undergo painstaking process in which they deny themselves over and over. Poetic agony found in Kim's works could be described as an inevitable factor that is needed to introduce unfamiliar ideas, which is Christianity, into his poems. With poems by these two poets, Koreans are now facing the new world in terms of the spirit and methodology of modem poetry. It is because Yun presents a model of the land of God in which individual and group salvation are inevitably connected to each other, and because Kim integrates anti-Christian factors with that of Christian in portraying the true spirit of poetry. Their ways provide the process in which Christianity settles in the Korean literature.

        Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

        Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Results : In 1997. 99 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 45(45.5%) were PPNG. Conclusion : The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 45.5% in 1997.

        <i>In vitro</i> and <i>in vivo</i> evaluation of a novel polymer-free everolimus-eluting stent by nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide film deposition

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Inflammation and thrombosis are linked to the use of polymer-based drug-eluting stents (DES). The aim of this study was to develop a polymer-free everolimus (EVL)-eluting stent using nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide (N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB>) and verify its efficacy by <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I> assessment in a porcine coronary model. Various analytical approaches such as scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy, electron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and contact angle measurement were employed for the characterization. As a part of biocompatibility assessment, platelet adhesion and smooth muscle cell (SMC) proliferation were examined. Bare metal stent (BMS), N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> stent, everolimus-eluting N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> (N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-EVL) stent, and commercialized EVL-eluting stent (EES) were randomly placed in forty coronary arteries in twenty pigs. After four weeks of implantation, the stents were subjected to histological and quantitative analysis. The N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> film used in this study was well coated without any cracks or peeling. Surface hydrophilicity (88.8% of angle decrement) could be associated with the decrease in surface roughness post N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> deposition (37.0%). The platelet adhesion on the N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> surfaces was less than that on the BMS surface. The proliferation of SMC was suppressed in the N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-EVL group (30.2%) but not in the BMS group. In the animal study, the percent area restenosis was significantly decreased in the N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-EVL group compared to that in the BMS group. The results (BMS; 47.0 ± 11.00%, N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-EVL; 31.7 ± 10.50%, and EES; 29.1 ± 11.21%, <I>n</I> = 10, <I>p</I> < 0.05) were almost at par with those of the commercialized EVL-eluting stent. The introduction of N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> deposition during fabrication of polymer-free DES may be an efficient accessorial process for preventing in-stent restenosis and thrombosis.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> surfaces can help to reduce the platelet adhesion. </LI> <LI> In porcine model, N-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> everolimus decreased in-stent restenosis and fibrin deposition. </LI> </UL> </P>

        The Implication of Cardiac Injury Score on In-hospital Mortality of Coronavirus Disease 2019

        Backgrounds: The severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has spread worldwide. Cardiac injury after SARS-CoV-2 infection is a major concern. The present study investigated impact of the biomarkers indicating cardiac injury in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on patients' outcomes. Methods: This study enrolled patients who were confirmed to have COVID-19 and admitted at a tertiary university referral hospital between February 19, 2020 and March 15, 2020. Cardiac injury was defined as an abnormality in one of the following result markers: 1) myocardial damage marker (creatine kinase-MB or troponin-I), 2) heart failure marker (N-terminal-pro B-type natriuretic peptide), and 3) electrical abnormality marker (electrocardiography). The relationship between each cardiac injury marker and mortality was evaluated. Survival analysis of mortality according to the scoring by numbers of cardiac injury markers was also performed. Results: A total of 38 patients with COVID-19 were enrolled. Twenty-two patients (57.9%) had at least one of cardiac injury markers. The patients with cardiac injuries were older (69.6 ± 14.9 vs. 58.6 ± 13.9 years old, P = 0.026), and were more male (59.1% vs. 18.8%, P = 0.013). They showed lower initial oxygen saturation (92.8 vs. 97.1%, P = 0.002) and a trend toward higher mortality (27.3 vs. 6.3%, P = 0.099). The increased number of cardiac injury markers was significantly related to a higher incidence of in-hospital mortality which was also evidenced by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis (P = 0.008). Conclusion: The increased number of cardiac injury markers is related to in-hospital mortality in patients with COVID-19.

      • 하지의 족관절, 족부 3D CT검사에서 보조기구 이용의 유용성 고찰

        목적 : 하지의 족관절, 족부 3D CT검사에서 보조기구 이용이 보조기구를 이용하지 않는 검사군과 비교하여 유용한 검사법임을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 뼈 성장판이 융합하고 특별한 외상이 없는 남,녀 60명을 대상으로 보조기구를 사용하는 실험군과 보조기구를 사용하지 않는 대조군 그리고 참조군 (한국 정상 성인의 족관절 각)을 서로 비교하여 실험군과 대조군이 참조군과 비교하여 어떤 의미를 갖는지 분석하였고 실험군과 대조군을 영상의학과 전문의 1인, 정형외과 전문의 1인, 방사선사 1인이 영상의 질을 평가 하였다. 결과 : 보조기구를 이용한 실험군이 보조기구를 이용하지 않는 대조군과 비교하여 Tibial angle은 보조기구 사용 군이 평균 68.41° 보조기구를 사용하지 않는 군이 평균 72.66°로 두 계측각 모두 참조군(63.5~65.2)과 비교하여 범위를 벗어난 수치를 보여주었다. Fibular angle은 보조기구를 사용하는 군이 평균 62.32° 보조기구를 사용하지 않는 군이 67.03°로 참조군 평균값(55.9~56.9)에 포함되지 못하였으나, Talocalcaneal angle 측면에서는 평균 39.9° 참고치 39.9~41.4° Tuber~joint(Bohler’s) angle 평균 32.4° 참고치 30.7~31.6 Calcaneus-tibia angle 평균 83.2° 참고치 81.9~93.0° Calcaneus-floor angle 평균 15.7° 참고치 12.4~13.0°로 4계측각 모두 보조기구를 사용하는 군이 보조기구를 사용하지 않는 군에 비해 참조군 평균 값에 근접 하거나 포함 되었고 대조군은 평균값이 모두 참고치를 벗어났다. 영상의 질 평가 결과 보조기구 사용 군이 그렇지 않는 군과 비교하여 전반적으로 더 뛰어난 평가 결과를 기록하였다. 결론 : 하지의 족관절, 족부 CT에서 실험군과 대조군의 계측 값은 실험군이 참조군의 계측값의 평균값에 포함 되거나 거의 근접한 수치를 보여 주었고 대조군은 실험군의 평균값에 전반적으로 벗어난 수치를 보여주었다. 영상의 질 평가결과 기구를 사용 하는 군이 기구를 사용하지 않는 군과 비교하여 전체적으로 뛰어난 평가 결과 값을 보여 주었다. 결론적으로, 하지의 족관절, 족부 CT검사에서 기구 사용은 영상의 질이 뛰어나고 평균적으로 일정한 형태와 분포도를 보여 주어 기구 사용이 보다 더 유용한 검사법임을 보여주었다. Purpose : To know of usefulness of Lower Extremity Fixation Device(LFD) on ankle, foot 3D CT compare with none use of LFD. Materials and method : To 60 peoples whose tibial growth plate was closed and not injured, we scanned Ankle or Foot 3D CT: A group were used LFD and B group were not used. Then we measured A and B group’ several joints angle compare with reference group(Korean’ standard adult ankle joint angle). Datum and image qualities were analyzed by a Radiologist, a Orthopedist and a Radiation Technologist. Results : At tibial joint, A’ mean angle is 68.41°±5.05 and B’ mean angle is 72.66°±,4.89 they were beyond reference range(63.5°~65.2°). At fibular joint, A’ mean angle is 62.32°±1.76 and B’ mean angle is 67.03°±5.99, they were beyond reference range( 55.9~56.9). However at Talocalcaneal joint, A’ mean lateral angle 39.9° is in reference range(39.9°~41.4°) but B group(34.15) is not in. And also at Tuber joint(Bohler’s), A’ mean angle 32.4° is in reference range(30.7°~32.6°) but B group(28.75) is not in. At Calcaneus-tibia joint, A’ mean angle 83.2° is in reference range(81.9°~93.0°) but B group(95.24) is not in. At Calcaneus-floor, A’ mean angle 15.7° is near to reference range(12.4°~13.0°) but B group(18.71) is far from. The standard deviation of A group showed a more than B constant distribution. The results of measure Image quality, A group is good than B group. Conclusion : On lower extremity ankle, foot CT, A group is in reference range or near but B group is generally beyond to reference range. In image quality measure, A group is good than B group. In conclusion, Use of LFD on lower extremity ankle, foot CT is similar to Korean’ standard adult ankle joint angle and is good in image quality than none use of LFD as well.

      • Evaluation of ion implantation for anti-thrombogenic coronary stent in vitro and in vivo

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ion implantation on the surface of anti-thrombogenic coronary stent. Nitrogen (N) was implanted into the cobalt–chromium surface by using an ion source under a plasma environment to enhance its hardness and surface modification. The N ion dosage was 1×10<SUP>15</SUP> ions/cm<SUP>2</SUP>. All analysis results of the ion implanted stent were compared with those of bare metal stent. The N component and distribution were confirmed by auger electron spectroscopy. Microhardness was significantly increased after 40min of implantation (415.3±12.38 HV, 18.9±2.62%). The surface was altered to hydrophobic status through ion implantation (30.6±1.12% in contact angle increment). Platelet adhesion, and smooth muscle cell migration and proliferation were prevented in the ion implanted group (43.9%, 11.2%, and 45.1%, respectively). To verify the in vitro result, stents were implanted to rabbit iliac artery and isolated at 4 weeks post implantation. Then, the stents were subjected to histological analysis. No significant differences in injury score, internal elastic lamina, lumen area, and restenosis rate were found. However, the fibrin score was more significantly decreased in the ion beam-implanted group (2.5±0.15) than in the bare metal stent group (1.8±0.31, <I>n</I> =10, <I>p</I> <I><</I> 0.05). Taken together, ion beam implantation may be an efficient accessorial tool for preventing in-stent restenosis and in-stent thrombosis.</P>

      • 가막만에 출현하는 동물플랑크톤의 종조성과 계절별 출현 양상

        가막만에 출현하는 동물플랑크톤을 계절별(2001년 4월, 7월, 9월, 12월)로 Norpac네트를 이용하여 수직 채집하였다. 우점적으로 출현한 분류군은 4월과 12월에 요각류, 7월에 요각류와 지각류,9월에 야광충이었다. 출현 개체수는 22~17,197indiv. m^-3으로 시·공간적으로 변동폭이 매우 컸다. 요각류의 우점종은 4월에 Euryte-mora pacifica, Acartio omorii, Cenfropages abdominalis, Colanus sinicus, 7월에 Lobidocera rofunda와 A. erythraea, 9월에 A. eryfhraea와 Paracalanus parvus s. l., 12월에 A. omorii와 E. pacifca로 주로 내만종으로 변하였다. 그러나, 9월에 외양종인 Eucalanus sp.와 Neo-calnus sp. 또한 다수 출현하였다. 이와 같은 출현 경향은 가막만이 폐쇄성 내만임에도 불구하고 동물플랑크톤의 분포 특성은 내만수 이외에 계절적으로 외만수의 영향을 강하게 받고 있음을 암시하고 있다. Zooplankton was sampled vertically with a Norpac net from Gamag Bay in April, July, September and December, 2001. Copepods were predominant in April and December, and cladocerans in July and Noctiluca scintillans in September, respectively. There are high spatio-temporal fluctuations in the abundance of zooplankton with a range of 22∼17,197 indiv./㎥. In the copepod community, neritic species, Eurytemora pacifica, Acartia omorii, Centropages abdominalis and Calanus sinicus were predominant in April; Labidocera rotunda and A. erythraea in July; A. erythraea and Paracalanus parvus s. l. in September; A. omorii and E. pacifica in December. However, oceanic species Eucalanus sp. and Neocalanus sp. were abundant in September. It indicates that although Gamag Bay is semi-closed, the distribution pattern of zooplankton is seasonally strongly affected by oceanic waters in addition to neritic ones.

        Multicenter Prospective Study of Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease in Korea

        Backgrounds/AimsThis multicenter study aims to evaluate the effect and feasibility of anti-reflux surgery compared with medical treatment forgastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). MethodsPatients with GERD who were undergoing medical treatment with proton pump inhibitors for more than 8 weeks and those whowere scheduled to undergo anti-reflux surgery were enrolled. Efficacy of pre-operative medical treatment was evaluated retrospectivelyand effect of anti-reflux surgery was prospectively evaluated at 1 week and 3 months after surgery. Quality of life (QOL) was alsoinvestigated before and after surgery. ResultsBetween February and October 2018, 51 patients underwent laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication for treating GERD at 5 hospitalsin Korea. Thirty-four patients (66.7%) showed poor proton pump inhibitor response. At 3 months after surgery, heartburn wascompletely resolved in 87.9% patients and partially improved in 9.1%. Acid regurgitation was completely resolved in 82.9% andpartially improved in 11.4%. Atypical extraesophageal symptoms were completely controlled in 45.5% and partially controlled in36.4%. GERD-related QOL scores at 1 week after surgery significantly improved compared with pre-operative scores. There was nodifference in GERD-related QOL scores between 1 week and 3 months after surgery. General QOL measured with European QOL-5dimensions and health-related QOL instrument with 8 items significantly improved after anti-reflux surgery. Satisfaction with treatmentwas significantly higher after surgery than before surgery (72.5% vs 11.8%, P < 0.001). ConclusionAnti-reflux surgery improved GERD symptoms and QOL in patients. Anti-reflux surgery is an effective treatment option compared withmedical treatment for GERD patients selected for surgical treatment.

        Dust Collection and Nutrient Absorption by Halophyte Communities in Saemanguem Reclaimed Land

        Halophyte community was established for dust prevention in Saemangeum reclaimed land from 2006 to 2008. In the present study, the functions of halophyte community were examined on-site in aspects of dust collection and nutrient absorption. In dust collection experiments, total suspended particulate (TSP) decreased through transplanted halophyte community and the reduction effect continued to 50 m leeward, which was 5.6 times of plant height. TSP reduction behind in-situ halophyte communities amounted to 25.6% on seven-monthly average. TSP collected within four halophyte communities varied among halophytic species in the field. Harvested in the reclaimed land, halophytic samples contained significant amount of nitrogen (0.84 to 1.71% of dry weight), $P_2O_5$ (0.05 to 0.21% of dry weight), and $Na^+$ (0.08 to 3.20% of dry weight). On the basis of halophyte community area in 2006, the amount of total nitrogen, $P_2O_5$ and $Na^+$ absorbed by Suaeda asparagoides was estimated up to 404,000, 47,000, and 498,000 kg, respectively. These results implied that halophyte communities are capable of both collecting significant dust particulates and absorbing of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sodium in the reclaimed land.
