비강 및 비인두에 발생한 도립유두종과 편평상피암종의 p53단백 및 세포증식능에 관한 연구

The inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma are common neoplasia in the sinonasal cavity and nasopharynx, but the incidence of these tumors are very low and the study on the oncogenesis or biological activity of the tumor cells are not well known. This study was designed to evaluate the oncogenic roles of the p53 gene and the proliferative activity of the tumor cells in the inflammatory polyp, inverted papilloma and squamous cell carcinoma. The experiment was carried by the immunohistochemical stains about the p53 protein, PCNA and Ki-67, histochemical stain about the AgNORs. and flow cytometric analysis about the DNA ploidy using the formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissues. The frequency of the expression of p53 protein was 0%(0/16 cases) in the inflammatory polyps, 18.8% (3/16 cases) in the inverted papillomas, and 87.5%(14/16 cases) in the squamous cell carcinomas. The labelling index(%) of the PCNA and Ki-67 was 5.3% and 3.3% in the inflammatoy polyps, 29.6% and 25.2% in the inverted papillomas, and 51.9% and 36.8% in the squamous cell carcinoma. The expression of the PCNA and Ki-67 was distributed in the periphery of the tumor islands of the inverted papilloma and was distributed in the both of center and periphery of the tumor islands of the squamous cell carcinoma. The number of nuclear AgNORs was increased in the order of inflammatory polyps (0.96), inverted papillomas(1.34) and squamous cell carcinoma(2.09). The frequency of the DNA aneuploidy was 0%(0/16 cases) in the inflammatory polyps, 18.8%(3/16 cases) in the inverted papillomas. and 12.5%(2/16 cases) in the squamous cell carcinomas. Above results indicates that the changes of the p53 gene and proliferative activity of the tumor cells are involved on the oncogenesis and the biological activity of the inverted papilloma or squamous cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx and sinonasa cavity.

Gap junctions and their structural proteins, connexins (Cxs), have been implicated in carcinogenesis. To explore the involvement of Cx32 in gastric carcinogenesis, immunochemical analysis of Cx32 and proliferation marker Ki67 using tissue-microarrayed human gastric cancer and normal tissues was performed. In addition, after Cx32 overexpression in the human gastric cancer cell line AGS, cell proliferation, cell cycle analyses, and p21^Cip1 and p27^Kip1 expression levels were examined by bromodeoxyuridine assay, flow cytometry, real-time RT-PCR, and western blotting. Immunohistochemical study noted a strong inverse correlation between Cx32 and Ki67 expression pattern as well as their location. In vitro, overexpression of Cx32 in AGS cells inhibited cell proliferation significantly. G1 arrest, up-regulation of cell cycle-regulatory proteins p21^Cip1 and p27^Kip1 was also found at both mRNA and protein levels. Taken together, Cx32 plays some roles in gastric cancer development by inhibiting gastric cancer cell proliferation through cell cycle arrest and cell cycle regulatory proteins. Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.
Acanthamoeba의 한국형 동정 및 SAM-synthetase와 Ubiquitin의 생활사 특이적 발현

Acanthamoeba는 자유생활을 하며 전세계적으로 모든 환경에서 존재한다. 한국형 Acanthamoeba는 공주산성에서 발견되지만 cyst의 크기가 다양하여 더 자세한 특징을 서술할 필요가 있다. 활성아메바는 cyst-inoculation 시작 3일후에 관찰되고 cyst들은 11일째 PYG 배지에서 관찰되며 세포밀도는 9일째 가장 높다. SAM-synthetase mRNA와 ubiquirin mRNA 합성은 포낭시기동안 감소되고 SAM-synthetase mRNA는 ubiquitin mRNA보다 더 빨리 감소된다. 이런 결과는 SAM-synthetase mRNA와 ubiquitin mRNA의 농도감소가 전사 단계에서 조절된다는 것을 시사한다. Acanthamoeba is a free living amoeba that is present in all types of environments throughout the world. A Korean type Acanthamobea was identified at Sang-sung Park in Kong-ju city, but it needs more chracterization because size of cyst was various. Activated amoeba were observated at day 3 from cyst-inoculation, and cysts were detected at day 11 in PYG-media and cell-density was most high at day 9. Synthesis of SAM-synthetase mRNA and ubiquitin mRNA were decreased during encystment, and SAM-synthetase mRNA was decreased more rapidly than ubiquitin mRNA. This results suggest that decline of concentration of SAM-synthetase mRNA and ubiquitin mRNA were presumed that were regulated in transcription level from the compared with report of Feldman(1991), Moura(1992) and Tomlinson(1991) that concentration of SAM-synthetase and ubiquitin were decreased during encystment in Acanthamoeba.

In this study, a driver model based on the lead-lag controller for stable maneuver of a highly nonlinear, multi-dimensional, numerically stiff multibody vehicle model according to the various handling test requirements such as steady-state cornering, double lange change, etc. is presented The lead-lag controller is developed with lead and lag compensation. Which use the transfer function with cross-over frequency by frequency response method. The proposed driver model is applied to a vehicle model in steady-state and slalom maneuver to verify its effectiveness and validity. The results show that the proposed path control strategy is excellent both in pursuing the desired course and stability of the vehicle.
화상 처리 기술을 이용한 공기 가압식 인젝터의 분무 특성 분석

본 연구에서는 공기 가압식 인젝터의 분무 특성과 보조 공기압에 따른 분무 특성에 의한 영향을 분석하였다. 분무 분리각, 분무 도달력, 분무 도달거리, 자우터 평균 입경 등의 분무 특성은 인젝터와 최상의 엔진 성능을 실현하기 위해 필요한 흡기 포트의 최적 설계에 매우 중요한 인자이다. 이러한 분무 특성을 파악하기 위해 거시 분무 구조를 가시화하고, 분무 미립화 과정은 그림자 촬영법과 디지털 화상 처리법을 이용하여 정량화하였다. 실험을 통하여 공기 가압식 인젝터와 공기 보조 어댑터를 설계시 필요한 유용한 설계 인자를 파악할 수 있었으며 본 논문에 상세한 내용을 기술하였다. An experimental study is carried out to analyze spray characteristics for air-shrouded injector and to see the effects of air shrouding pressure differential on the spray characteristics. The spray characteristics including spray angle, targeting capability, penetration, and SMD(Sauter Mean Diameter) are very important for injector and intake port design to achieve best engine performance. The global spray structure are visualized and spray atomization processes were quantified using shadow graphy method and image processing algorithm. Effective spray characteristics to design air-shrouded injector is derived from this experimentation and described in more detail in this thesis.

Temperature of 618 and 1250℃ at As and Ga sities respectively in the horizontal Bridgman furnace and growht speed of 0.7cm/h were found to be optimal for the production of single crystalline GaAs. Self-seeded and unintentionally doped GaAs crystals showd n-type characteristics with Hall mobillity of ∼0.75㎡/V-sec and carrier density of ∼10^19 m^-3 when the mesurements were made right after the growth. About three month later it was found that the same samples were converted to p-type GaAs. The analysis on the p-type sample showed that impurity scattering is dominant at around room temperature and thus the measured Hall mobility was 0.0065㎡/V-sec at 300K. 7.4±0.6 eV was obtained for acoustic deformation potential in the heavy hole band by fitting the theoretical conductivity and Hall coefficient to the corresponding experimental data. The value is very much higher than the theoretically estimated value, 3.6eV. The carrier density variation with temperature obtained from the present analysis gave 0.38 and 0.17 eV respectively for the activation energies of donor and acceptor.

This study was conducted to determine the contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees according to different growth stages in Daegu city. The orders of heavy metal contents in leaves of roadside tree and soil were Fe〉Mn〉Zn〉Pb〉Cu〉Cr〉Cd and Fe〉Mn〉Zn〉Cu〉Pb〉Cr〉Cd, respectively. The contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees and soil showed an increasing tendency as the levels of traffic volume increased. The contents of heavy metals in leaves on October were higher than those on May.

A 10-year-old spayed female dog with history of persistent nasal discharge and halitosis was presented. In oral examination, there were severe dental calculi and gingivitis. The radiographic imaging showed lesions of left nasal cavity and periodontal membrane. In computed tomographic imaging, there are increased density of left nasal cavity, loss of nasal concha and partial defect of nasal septum. Many inflammatory cells were observed in nasal cytology. The result of culture from nasal smear was negative. All these findings result in rhinitis by dental calculi and gingivitis. The dog got improved after scaling, tooth extraction, and medical treatment.
