        면접조사를 통한 초등학생의 영양교육 실태 및 실천도 조사

        This study investigated the experience and practice of elementary school students on nutrition education. The data were collected from 217 male and female students attending 5-6th grade elementary schools in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do from March to June 2007, interviewing face to face by a nutrition teacher and 3 interns of a nutrition teacher. The results were as follows: 86.5% of the subjects learned about ‘Table etiquette’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’ (78.7%), ‘Food waste and environment’ (72.3%), ‘Healthy snacks’ (55.7%), ‘Food sanitation’ (52.3%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (48.1%). Nutrition education experience was significantly different by gender. A total of 43.5% boys responded that they never learned about ‘basic food preperation’ (p < 0.01). They had learned ‘Nutrients for body’ and ‘Food waste and environment’ in school, ‘Healthy weight loss’, ‘Food culture of foreign countries’, ‘Food circulation’ on television, Most content (‘Table etiquette’, ‘Simple cooking’, ‘Food sanitati n’, ‘Eating behaviors for health’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’, ‘Healthy snacks’) was learned from parents. The practice after nutrition education was higher in ‘Table etiquette’ (2.14), ‘Eating fruits and vegetables’ (2.07) than others compared with education experience. The most reason of non-practice on nutrition information was ‘Troublesome’. In ‘Nutrients for body’, a boy answered ‘Difficult for practice’ 20.0%, a girl answered ‘Difficult to understand’ 32.6%, showing a significant difference between the gender groups (p < 0.001). They remembered the ‘Nutrients for body’ (49.6%), ‘Food sanitation’ (44.5%) because of ‘important content’,‘Basic food preparation’ (40.6%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (36.3%) because of ‘interesting content’, ‘Healthy weight loss’ (52.0%), ‘Eating behavior for health’ (44.5%) and ‘Healthy snacks’ (33.7%) because of ‘need for my health’.

      • Hg₁-xMnxTe산화막의 홀효과에 관한 연구

        HClO₄(pH:2) 수용액에서 양극산화 방법으로 HgMnTe(HMT)의 표면에 산화막을 형성 시켰다. 산화막의 두께는 SEM으로 측정하였으며 10㎛였다. 전류-전압 특성곡선을 얻어 산화 피크 전압으로부터 HTeO₂?, TeO?, HHgO₂? 막이 형성되었음을 알 수 있었다. 산화시키지 않은 HMT와 HClO₄수용액에서 산화시킨 HMT에 대해 Hall전압 및 자기저항을 각각 측정하였다. 홀전압과 자기저항은 HMT보다 HMT산화막에서 더 컸으며 이것은 HHgO₂? 공격자가 홀의 역할을 하고, TeO₄? 산화막은 전하의 포획도를 낮게하기 때문으로 생각할 수 있다. Anodic oxidation processes on HgMnTe surface has been studied in standard aqueous HClO₄(pH:2) solution. The 10㎛ thickness of the anodic oxide layers was measured by SEM. The Composition of the anodic oxide layers are evaluated from current-voltage(I-V) characteristic of HgMnTe Oxidation. The layers are composed of mixed oxide. ??, TeO₄, and?? in HClO₄solution. Transport properties have been investigated in HMT oxide layer made in HClO₄solution and virgin HMT samples at 300K. Hall voltage and magnetoresistance are greater in oxide layer HMT than virgin HMT. As a result, we know that the vacancy of ??in an anodic oxide layer acts as hole and the resulting oxide ?? layer exhibit a reduced degree of charge trapping and increase magnetoresistance.

        Although a great number of papers on presuppositions have appeared in recent books and journals, we can't explain the concept of presupposition clearly. However, I think that there are two types of definitions for presupposition : one is a semantic notion, defined in terms of truth and consequence, like (1). (1) A sentence A semantically presupposes another sentence B iff: ⒜ if A is true, then B is true. ⒝ if A is false, then B is true. The other concept of presupposition is a pragmatic notion that the speaker or the hearer rather than the sentence he utters, has presupposition. Under the pragmatic notion, presupposition is the condition that a sentence must be uttered sincerely, as (2). (2) An utterance A pragmatically presupposes a proposition B iff A is appropriate only if B is mutually known by participants. Under these concepts of presupposition, the aim of this paper is to propose that pragmatic presupposition is superior to semantic presupposition in explaining the problem of presupposition cancellation and the projection problem for presuppositions, that is, the problem of explaining how the presuppositions of a complex sentence are related to the presuppositions of the clauses it contains. First, let's look at Langendoen and Savin's proposal(1971) to solve the projection problem for presuppositions. According to this proposal, the set of presuppositions of the complex whole is the simple sum of the parts. In other words, if S?? is a complex sentence containing sentences S₁,S₂,···S?? as constituents, then the presuppositions of S??=the presuppositions of S₁+the presuppositions of S₂···+the presuppositions of S??. For example, the complex sentence (3) holds both the presupposition of its antecedent “Fred has been beating Zelda”and the presupposition of its consequent “She has been unfaithful.”So this proposal is called “cumulative hypothesis ”(by Morgan(1969). But the cumulative hypothesis leads to wrong predictions in cases like (4). (3) If Fred has stopped beating Zelda, then Fred no longer resents Zelda's infidelity. (4) If Jack has children, then all of Jack's children are bald. (n 94) the consequent clause presupposes that. John has children. Nevertheless, the conditional as a whole has no such presupposition. Second, let's turn to Karttunen's proposal(1973, 1974, 1977). Karttunen(1973) distinguished between three different types of complementizable predicates, which he called “plugs”, “holes”, and “filters”as follows: (5) a. Plugs : predicates which block off all the presuppositions of the complement sentence b. Holes : predicates which let all the presuppositions of the complement sentence become presuppositions of the matrix sentence c. Filters : predicates which, under certain conditions, cancel some of the presuppositions of the complement But I think this proposal is very good, but imperfect, because there are some counter- examples for this proposal. I will pick out only one counterexample in (6). In (6), predicate ‘tell’belongs to the above plugs, but the complex sentence (6a) presupposes (6b) which is the presupposition of the complement of (6a). (6) a. The mechanic didn't tell me that my car would never run properly again. b. My car used to run properly. Third, in contrast to the prior theory, Gazdar's proposal(1979 a.b) is as follows: ⒜ all the pontential presuppositions of a sentence are generated as a complete set, as in the original Langendoen and Savin's suggestion. So at this stage, the presuppositions of any complex sentence will consist of all the presuppositions of each of its parts. ⒝ Then a cancelling mechanism is brought into play which culls out of this total set of potential presuppositions all those that will survive to become actual presuppositions of a sentence uttered in a particular context. In one word, we can say that sentences will be associated with potential presuppositions, utterances with actual presuppositions. At any rate, I think Gazdar's proposal has explanatory adequacy and can solve or explain the above problems. In conclusion, semantic theories of presupposition are not viable for the simple reason that semantics is concerned with the specification of invariant stable meanings that can be associated with expressions. Presuppositions are not invariant, not stable, not belong to any orderly semantics, but very changeable to context ; so presuppositions do belong to pragmatics.

        급성 충수돌기염의 조기 진단을 위한 초음파검사의 의의

        Background: In the most of emergency department, the diagnosis of appendicitis has been carried by clinical history, physical examination and plain X-ray. But the diagnostic accuracy by these methods was so low that unnecessary operation was common performed, and sometimes the operation was delayed till the physicians could confirm the acute appendicitis clinically. Although many kinds of diagnostic tools such as CT scan, laparoscope, and etc, we believe that ultrasonography(US) would be a quick and sensitive diagnostic method for the evaluation of acute appendicitis in the Emergency Department. Methods: Forty-seven patients who were clinically suspected as acute appendicitis were evaluated with the grayscaled US by emergency physician. The probe of US was placed on maximal tender point of abdomen, and the appendix image was evaluated while probe was pressed deeply and gently. When the blind loop was found at maximal tender point of abdomen, we evaluated the diameter of appendix, the presence of compressibility, peri-appendiceal fluid collection and other mass effect. As soon as the ultrasonographic evidences of the appendicitis were noticed, the operations were done and pathologic report were reviewed later. Results: Among the forty-seven patients, forty patients were diagnosed as a appendicitis by Us, and most common ultrasonic findings were as follows; 1) non-compressible blind loop larger than 5 mm in diameter, 2) wall thickening more than 3 mm, 3) peri-appendiceal fluid collection, 4) periappendiceal mass. Among remaining 7 patients in whom we could not get any positive findings of appendicitis, abdominal CT scan was carried in 2 cases who had direct and rebound tendemess on right lower abdomen, and CT scan showed the evidences of the appendicitis. The other 5 cases without rebound tendemess were observed for 2 hours, and abdominal pain was disappeared lately. Finally forty-two patients were operated and confirmed as acute appendicitis by pathologic reports; 24 were reported as suppurative appendicitis, and 12 cases of gangrenous appendicitis, 3 cases of perforated appendicitis, and 3 cases were peri-appendiceal abscess. The specificity of US in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis was 71.4%, and the sensitivity was 95.2%. Conclusions: In some patients suspected appendicitis, emergency physicians could diagnosis acute appendicitis accurately and rapidly by use of ultrasonography. Although the US was an accurate imaging modality to diagnosis acute appendicitis and evaluate its complications, we recommend a laparotomy or abdominal CT scan in the patients with negative US findings in spite of presence of peritoneal irritation signs such as rebound tenderness and/or muscle guarding on right lower abdomen.

      • 슬릿 플레이트 댐퍼를 가진 반강접합부 실험

        The resistance of a structure against an earthquake is related to its ability to absorb the seismic input energy. The development of devices for dissipating the seismically induced energy on the structure is a subject that is receiving large attention in the field of earthquake engineering. One example of these devices is the steel plate with slits. In this paper, a connection with a slit-type steel plate damper installed at each ends of wide-flange section beam, as an energy absorption element, was proposed. A series of experiment was performed to investigate their behavior and structural characteristic. The main parameters were the aspect ratio of the struts in slit plates, thickness of the struts and height of the vertical places. Test results indicated that most of the energy was absorbed by plastic deformation of slit plate dampers.

      • 중학교 과학 교과서 분별 증류 실험의 비교 분석 및 개선

        이 연구의 목적은 제 6차 교육과정에 의한 중학교 1학년 과학 교과서 분별 증류 실험의 문제점을 파악하고, 중학생들이 분별 증류 실험을 능률적으로 수행할 수 있는 실험 방법을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위한 첫 번째 단계로서 현재 사용되고 있는 8종의 과학 교과서를 분별 증류 실험 장치와 액체 혼합물의 종류에 따라 6가지로 분류하였다. 두 번째 단계로서 액체 혼합물을 가열 방법에 따라 직접가열과 물 중탕 가열로 나누어 교과서 실험과정에 따라 같은 실험을 세 번 실시하였다. 세 번째 단계로서 실험 결과의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 대안 실험을 실시하였다. 대안 실험에서는 알코을 램프로 직접가열 하는 방법과 기름 중탕으로 가열하는 방법, 그리고 가열 맨틀을 사용하여 가열하는 방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과, 가지 달린 둥근 플라스크를 직접 가열하는 실험 결과가 가지 달린 시험관을 물 중탕으로 가열하는 실험 결과보다 이론적인 결과에 근접하였다. 그리고 가지 달린 둥근 플라스크를 직접 가열하는 실험에서 플라스크 윗 부분을 보온해 주는 실험이 보온하지 않은 실험보다 실험 결과가 더 나았다. 대안 실험에서는 액체 혼합물의 증류 온도 증가를 보면서 가열 맨틀의 가열 온도를 을려 준 실험의 결과가 이론적인 결과에 가장 가까웠다. 이러한 연구 결과로부터 가지 달린 시험관을 물 중탕으로 가열하는 분별 증류 실험 장치는 탐구실험 수업에 부적절한 것이므로 개선이 요구되며, 중학교 과학실 여건을 고려할 때, 액체 혼합물의 증류 온도 증가를 보면서 가열 맨틀의 가열 온도를 변화시키는 분별 증류 실험이 가장 능률적인 방법임을 알 수 있었다. The purpose of this study was to find out the problems on the fractional distillation experiments in the middle school science textbooks based on the 6th curriculum and to suggest an efficient experiment method for the middle school students. The first step was the classification of the experiments in 8 science textbooks according to heating apparatus and liquid mixtures. The second step was doing each experiment 3 times followed by the experimental process in the textbooks. The third step was developing the alternative experiments for solving the problems found in the second step. The heating method used in the alternative experiments were direct heating, oil bath, and heating mantle. The results of the second step showed that the direct heating experiment of branched round flask was more close to the theoretical prediction than the experiment of water bath heating of branched test tube. Also the direct heating experiment of thermally insulated branched round flask was better than the result of the experiment which was not insulated. The results of the third step showed that the experiment using heating mantle regulated heating power by observing the temperature of distillate gave the closest result to the theoretical prediction. From the above results, it is concluded that the experiment using branched test-tube with water bath heating is not adequate for the fractional distillation and an alternative experiment using insulated branched round flask with heating mantle regulated heating power during experiment is recommended.
