        This experimental study on the incineration ash and sintering pellet from sewage sludge was carried out to evaluate the possibility of recycling in sewage sludge disposal. The samples used in this study were raw sewage, its incineration ash and sintering pellet. The characteristics of the three sample types were identified using X-ray diffraction(XRD), atomic absorption spectroscopy(AAS), and inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy(ICP). The chemical compositions of all three sample types were similar in their clay component except for a high content of organic materials in the sewage sludge. According to the fireproof bricks test method( KS L 5105 Korea), the compressive strengths of incineration ash with sintering temperature were measured. It was found that the compressive strength depends on the sintering temperature. These results prove that the incineration ash and sintering pellet have a sufficient potential for use as a constructional material.

        The diagnostic requirements were suggested and explained regarding the systems of differentiation of symptoms and signs in the second year study of standardization and unification of the terms and conditions used for diagnosis in oriental medicine. The systems were as follows; - differential diagnosis according to condition of body fluid, differentiation of syndromes according to the state of qi and blood, differential diagnosis according to relative excessiveness or deficiency of yin and yang(氣血陰陽津液辨證) - differentiation of diseases according to pathological changes of the viscera and their interrelation - analyzing and differentiating of febrile diseases in accordance with the theory of the six channels(傷寒辨證) The individual diagnosis pattern was arranged by the diagnostic requirements in the following order : another name(異名), notion of diagnosis pattern, index of differentiation of symptoms and signs(辨證指標), the main point of diagnosis, analysis of diagnosis pattern(證候分析), discrimination of diagnosis pattern(證候鑑別), a way of curing a diseases(治法), prescription(處方), herb in common use(常用藥物), diseases appearing the diagnosis pattern(常見疾病), documents(文獻調査). This study was carried out on the basis of the Chinese documents and references.

      • 심전도의 디지털 기록화 모듈과 개인용컴퓨터 저장/분석시스템의 개발

        연구목적: 현재 우리나라의 의료분야에서는 정보기술의 발전으로 처방 전달 시스템과 전자차트의 활용이 상용화 되고 있으나 병원내에서 가장 많이 처방되고 검사되는 12-유도 심전도의 디지털화와 이에 연계된 심전도 결과의 개인용 컴퓨터로의 저장, 인터넷을 이용한 병원으로의 전송이나 타 기관에서의 심전도 결과의 동시 관찰 등에 관한 기술 등은 개발되지 못한 상태이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 심전도를 디지털화하며 저장이 가능한 PC 모듈을 개발하고 심전도 결과를 병원 전산 시스템에 포함시켜 병원내외에서 편리하게 조회, 검색할 수 있는 디지털 인터페이스를 개발하려 하였다. 재료 및 방법 : 낮은 전력에서 잡음특성이 우수한 대역여파기와 증폭기를 설계하였으며 각종기능이 내장된 고신뢰성 프로세서를 채택하였으며 전원 잡음이 고려된 필터와 전원 회로 설계로 하드웨어를 개발하였다. MSC 6.0과 Visual Basic 6.0을 바탕으로 하여 active X 모듈화를 유도하고 조회용 PC에서의 복원과 PACS로의 연동을 통해 순환기내과용 PACS 개발이 가능하도록 소프트웨어를 준비하였다. 결과: 심전도 검사자가 쉽게 장착, 검사가 가능한 소형화된 측정 모듈을 개발하였고 극저전류에서 동작이 가능하였으며 우수한 데이터의 압축 및 복원률을 구현하였다. 결론: 이번 심전도 디지털 모듈의 개발로 기존의 감광지에 의존하던 심전도 결과의 보존과 보관공간에 의한 경제적인 손실을 상당 부분 해결할 수 있으며 OCS에 연계된 결과로 인해 원내에서의 다면적 진료가 가능하다. 이번 연구에서 개발된 기술은 향후 디지털화된 심전도 기록장치와 같은 고부가 의료장치의 국산화와 광파일 의무기록 시스템이나 검사물의 무선 전송에 채용되어 의료 전달 체계나 응급체계의 발전에 기여하리라 사료된다. Purpose : The progressed communication technology commercialized the order communication system ( OCS) and the electric medical records( EMR) in the field of medicine in Korea. However, technologies of digitalization such as recording to personal computer, transfer to internet and simultaneous observation of electrocardiogram ( ECG) recorded at the different center were not realized yet. This study tried to invent personal computer module that can digitalize and record of the ECG and design the digital interface that can approach and search digitalized ECG in various part of hospital simultaneously. Materials and Methods : We had designed high-fidelity digital filter and amplifier which can work in very low voltage, had selected multifunctioned microprocessor. Activation X modulation was conducted by MSC 6.0 and Visual Basic 6.0. Softwares were prepared for the transfer of ECG informations from terminal PC to PACS and cardiologic PACS was designed for future application. Results : We have developed the small, portable, very low voltage managed ECG module and high quality digitalized information compression software in OCS and PACS. Conclusion : This invented ECG digital archive module can save hospital cost by substitution of ECG papers for digital storage or on-line storage, therefore ECG data can be handled in multisector of the hospital and through telemedicine. This technology can be applied to domestic ECG digitalizing device development and effective medical transfer system by adoption cordless medical information delivery.

      • 알칼리용액으로 처리된 폐피혁 분이 석고-피혁 복합체의 물성에 미치는 영향

        Gypsum material has strong compressive strength and excellent resistance against fire. But, these material has some demerits ; weak water-resistance, heavy specific gravity and low physical properties in flexural and tensile strengths. While, leather shaving dust(LSD) which is much produced from leather manufacturing company in waste has strong tear and tensile strengths, the properties of the high hygroscopic and the superior thermal insulation. In this research, gypsum-leather composites were made with gypsum and LSD. And the physical properties of those were tested. The optimum dosage of LSD for gypsum-leather composite was decided to 1~5%(w/w) of the gypsum. In that case, the composit which has compressive strength: 147~272 kg_(f)/cm^(2), flexural strength: 66~87kg_(f)/cm^(2), specific gravity: 1.11~1.29 is made.

      • 폐실질내의 주변형 결절로 나타난 소세포성 폐암의 CT 소견

        We evaluated CT findings of the small cell carninoma, which presented as a solitary pulmonary nodule at the periphery of the lung parenchyma. Of pathologically-proven 45 patients with small cell carcinoma, 10 patients was included in this study, who had a solitary, peripheral lung nodule at distal portion of the subsegmental bronchus. We retrospectively reviewed clinical data and CT findings including size, location, margin, enhancement pattern, lymph node enlargement, metastasis. Peripheral small cell carcinomas were 22.2%(10/45). All masses had well-defined margin and lobulated margin was seen in 7 patients. Mean diameter was 3.8cm (2.5-7.0cm). Enhancement pattern were homogeneous in 3 cases and inhomogeneous in seven. Calcification or air-bronchogram was not present, and focal cavitation was seen in one case. In five, only lung mass was present, and lung mass with lymph node enlargement was seen in one. distant metastasis without lymph node enlargement was noted on two patients and another two patients showed lymph node enlargement and distant metastasis. Peripheral small cell carcinoma is not rare(22.2%). Most frequent CT finding is a well-defined, lobulated mass with inhomogeneous enhancement, these findings would be helpful in differentiating small cell carcinoma from other neuroendocrine tumors when differentiataion is difficult cytologically.

        Gypsum materials have strong mechanical strengths and great resistance to fire. Also these one are very cheap because of the gypsum is a byproduct from chemical plants. But, these materials have some demerits ; weak water-resistance, heavy specific gravity and low physical properties in bending and tensile strengths. While, leather shaving dust(LSD) is very much produced from leather manufacturing process. The LSD is composed of collagen fibers which is a kind of protein. This one has strong tear and tensile strengths because of the collagen fibers are cross linked during the tanning process of leather. Also the dust has the properties of the high hygroscopic and the superior thermal insulation, but is not degraded any more in neutral condition such as gypsum slurry. In this paper, we have reinforced the physical properties of gypsum with LSD as a filler. From this research, it is decided that the optimum dosage of LSD to gypsum is below 5%(w/w) of the gypsum, and the specific gravity of LSD-gypsum mixture is reduced to 30% relative to gypsum alone.

        3차 의료기관 응급실로 내원한 안면부 열상 환자에 대한 임상적 고찰

        Background: Facial laceration is a common clinical problem in the emergency room that is frequently associated with other craniofacial injuries. It elicits an emotional response from the patient because of the underlying concern of permanent scar and secondary facial disfigurement, so they demand prompt and adequate treatment. The aim of this study is to analyze the incidence, etiology, depth, and site of facial lacerations to provide basic data for further understanding. Method: This study reviewed 1,043 facial-laceration patients treated in the emergency room at Pusan Paik Hospital between March 1999 and February 2000. This retrospective study was done by reviewing and analyzing the sex and age distributions, the monthly and daily distributions, the causes of injury, the types of injury, the sites of injury, the lengths of the lacerations, and associated injuries. Results: The sex ratio of men to wemen was 2.4:1, and the 0~10 age group was at the top of the age distribution. The number of patients was the highest on sundays and during March. About 9.2% of the patients visited the emergency room between 10:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. Falls(38.1%) were the most common cause of facial laceration, and deep laceration(51.8%) was the most common type of facial laceration. The most common laceration site was the forehead, followed by the chin and the nose. The most common associated craniofacial injury was facial bone fracture(39%), Facial-lacerations were sutured by plastic surgeons(80%), emergency physicians(10%), and oromaxillofacial surgeons(10%). We found statistical significance in the types and lengths of lacerations between men and women, among age groups(p<0.05). Conclusion: Facial laceration is one of the most common craniofacial injuries in the emergency room. By now, most lacerations have been repaired by plastic surgeons, But, the causes of lacerations are diverse and many patients are admitted due to the associated injuries. Therefore, emergency physicians should participate more aggressively in the care of facial-laceration patients to improve the outcome of the patients.

        뇌경색 발병후 병발된 만성 애역(Chronic hiccup)의 뜸치료 1례

        Hiccups, also known as singultus, are spasmodic involuntary contractions of respiratory muscles that shorten respiration. The characteristic sound is caused by rapid closure of the glottis. In oriental medicine, the mechanism of hiccups is "reversed flow of Ki". Hiccups have been associated with neoplasm, infections, seizures, diabetes. renal failure, alcohol ingestion, various drugs, and ischemic events of the myocardium or central nervous system. We present a case of chronic hiccups after cerebral infarction that was successfully treated using moxibustion therapy.

        Blinking photoluminescence properties of single TiO<sub>2</sub> nanodiscs: interfacial electron transfer dynamics

        <P>Blinking photoluminescence was observed in single TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanodiscs (NDs) by using a laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM)-coupled steady-state and ps-time-resolved photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopic system, while it was not significantly observed for TiO<SUB>2</SUB> quantum dots (QDs). Analysis of the PL blinking time trajectories revealed single-exponential kinetics with the average lifetimes of on-state (∼286 ms) and off-state (∼58 ms), implying the existence of inherent surface-trap sites which can be filled by photogenerated electron or hole. The PL spectra of single TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NDs exhibited broad surface emissions with four decay times, which may be due to diffusion of the energies of electron or hole trap states related to surface structural changes by modification of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> QDs. These results and the surface structural analysis (IR and XPS) suggests a simple model for the PL blinking of single TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NDs that is based on repetitive interfacial electron transfer to the inherent surface trap sites (<SUB>4</SUB>Ti<SUP>4+</SUP>–OH) with Auger-assisted hole trapping in the multiple surface states as modified by the diffusive coordinate model and the surface-trap-filling model. Based on this blinking mechanism and kinetics, the rates of the interfacial electron transfer and the back electron transfer in TiO<SUB>2</SUB> NDs were determined to be 18 ns and 58 ms, respectively, which are slow enough to keep the polarization of e–h pairs at the surface for efficient photocatalysis and photovoltaic activities.
