      • 소규모사업장 용접근로자들의 소음·용접흄·망간 노출에 관한 연구

        Objective : This study was conducted for the purpose of investigating the level exposure of welders to noise, welding fume and Manganese(Mn) related to this process. Methods and Material : All subjects in this study were welders engaged in CO2 arc and coated arc welding process especially in small-scale enterprises classified by type of manufacture of ship building, repairing and of other fabricated metal products, which is located in Gimhae and Milyang of Kyeongsang province in south Korea. Air sampling of welding fume was measured, shipped and analyzed on the basis of national institute for occupational safety and health(NIOSH) method in U.S. and work environment measurement method established in south Korea. To measure Noise in the work environment, Noise dosimeter was used on the basis of work environment measurement method established in south Korea. Result : This study was performed during a period from January, 2000 to December, 2001 and Results were as follows: 1. Noise level measured in this work environment was higher than national criteria for permissible exposure limit on health examinations related to hearing loss. 2. The concentration of welding fume and Mn in manufacture of ship building and repairing was higher than those in manufacture of other fabricated metal products. 3. In conditions of existing in ventilation system installed and operated, the concentration of welding fume and Mn was slightly lower than those of not existing. 4. In conditions of existing in sufficient air supply from out door into the work place relied on natural exhaust system, the concentration of welding fume and Mn was slightly lower than those of in not sufficient. 5. In all subjects, a rate of wearing ear plug and respiratory mask for dust and fume was lower than that of not wearing. Conclusion : According to above results, this study suggests that more positive work environment managements such as the use of portable local ventilation system, the supply of highly qualified personal protective equipment, and consecutive education and training related to health protection should be need to acquire suitable health protection program for welders engaged in small-scale enterprises in Korea.

      • 유기용제 폭로가 여성 근로자들의 월경에 미치는 영향

        유기용제는 산업장에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히 여성근로자들의 폭로기회가 증가하고 있으며 이로 인한 자연유산, 수태능력 감소, 월경이상 등이 보고되고 있다. 따라서 유기용제 폭로가 여성근로자들의 월경에 미치는 영향을 보기 위해 설문조사와 월경주기별 여성생식 호르몬(progesterone, estrogen) 분석을 하였다. 그 결과 폭로군에서 progeterone의 억제효과가 유기용제에 폭로되는 여성근로자들의 다양한 월경이상을 초래할 가능성이 있는 것으로 생각된다. ■ Objectives This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of menstrual function in female workers exposed to organic solvents. ■ Methods Rates of menstrual disorders were studied in 87 female workers with exposure to organic solvents(Cn/Hn-value 0.713) in a factory manufacturing shoes and compared with 83 general female workers who had no exposure to organic solvents, Detailed menstrual and reproductive histories were obtained by personal interview using structured questionnaire, and plasma concentrations of progesterone and estrogen were assayed by radioimmunoassay(RIA). ■ Results The rates for menstrual irregularity, menstrual duration, blood clot in menstrual flow and dysmenorrhea were not significantly different in both groups. Number of using menstrual pad was significantly higher and the plasma level of progesterone during 6-11th day of menstrual cycle was significantly lower in the exposed group compared with non-exposed group(P<0.05). ■ Conclusions It seemed to be suppression effect of organic solvents on the reproductive hormones(progesterone and estrogen) in female workers. But there was no evidence that menstrual disorder was likely to result from exposure to organic solvents, because other behavioral, psychological and work related factors may also affect menstrual function.

      • 대두단백질 가수분해물의 특성

        The present study was conducted to elucidate some characteristics of soy protein hydrolysates. The soy protein was obtained from defatted soy power by the treatment of n-hexan. The hydrolysates of soy protein were prepared from hydrolysis by bromelian and pepsin with the two kinds of samples of precooking for 30 min in steam oven and noncooking, and fractionated through Bio-gel P-4 column chromatography. Fractions of hydrolysates separated on the Bio-gel column chromatography were carried out to SDS-PAG electrophoresis, resulting to show some different bends from 66kD to 14.2kD of molecular weight. In addition, the fractions showed different activities of superoxide dismutase. From these results, it was found that the hydrolysates could be available to use in a lot of food industrial fields as new functional food materials because the hydrolysates had different characteristics in electrophoresis and could increase the activity of superoxide dismutase.

        조혈모세포이식 환자에서 침습성 진균 감염에 대한 Micafungin의 예방 효과 및 안전성

        Background: Micafungin, a potent inhibitor of 1,3-β-D-glucan synthase, is a novel antifungal agent of the echinocandin class. In vitro study showed that micafungin was effective against Aspergillus species as well as Candida species, but clinical data on the prophylactic efficacy against invasive fungal infections (IFIs) other than candidiasis are still lacking. Materials and Methods: We identified 60 consecutive adult hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients who received at least 3 doses of micafungin during neutropenic period. Micafungin was started as an alternative in patients who were intolerant or had adverse events (AEs) to primary prophylactic antifungal agents. We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and analyzed the efficacy and safety of micafungin for prophylaxis against IFIs. Results: The patients either had autologous (n=9) or allogeneic (n=51: 1 syngeneic, 24 sibling, 26 unrelated donor) HSCT. Itraconazole oral solution (n=58) was the most frequently used first line antifungal agent for prophylaxis and was administered for median 11 days. The most frequent cause of switch to micafungin was vomiting (n=42). The duration of neutropenia and micafungin administration was median 13 and 12 days, respectively. A successful outcome was achieved in 45 (75%) patients. Empirical antifungal therapy was initiated in 13 (22%) patients. There were 2 cases (3.3%) of breakthrough fungal infections which comprised a probable invasive pulmonary aspergillosis and a possible invasive fungal sinusitis. There was no case of invasive candidiasis. A total of 53 (88%) patients experienced at least one AE regardless of causality during micafungin administration. The most frequent AEs were hypokalemia, vomiting, diarrhea, and elevated serum aspartate aminotransferase or alanine aminotransferase. Among the aforementioned AEs, only 1 case of diarrhea could be classified as a probable relation with micafungin when causality was assessed. There was no AEs that caused discontinuation of micafungin. Conclusions: Micafungin seems to be a safe and effective agent for prophylaxis of IFIs including aspergillosis as well as candidiasis in HSCT recipients. However, further large, prospective, and randomized comparative studies are warranted for aspergillosis.

      • 알쯔하이머형 치매와 혈관성 치매환자에서의 ALDH2와 APOE 유전자의 다형성에 관한 연구

        연구목적: 본 연구는 국내 치매환자들을 대상으로 치매발병의 위험요소가 될 수있는 ALDH2와 APOE 유전자형이 어떤 양상으로 나타나는지 알아보기 위하여 시행되었다. 방 법: 충남 부여군에 위치한 부여노인병원에 입원중인 65세 이상의 알쯔하이머형 치매와 혈관성 또는 혼재성 치매환자 59명(남:19, 녀:40)을 대상으로 ALDH2와 APOE 유전자형을 제한효소법에 의하여 조사하였고 치매유형에 따른 유전자형과 대립유전자의 빈도를 비교하였다. 결 과: 1) 알쯔하이머형 치매환자군에서 혈관성 또는 혼재성 치매환자군보다 ALDH2*(-/2)유전자형의 빈도가 높았으나 통계학적으로 의미있는 차이는 없었다. 2) 알쯔하이머형 치매화자군에서 혈관성 또는 혼재성 치매환자군보다 APOE*(-/ε4) 유전자형의 빈도가 높았으나 통계학적으로 의미있는 차이는 없었다. 3) APOE*ε4와 ALDH2*2를 알쯔하이머병의 균등한 위험대립유전자로 가정하고 각 유전자형의 대립유전자의 수를 점수화하여 각 치매환자군의 위험유전자 전체점수를 비교한 결과 알쯔하이머형 치매환자군에서 점수가 더 높게 나왔으나 통계학적으로 의미있는 차이는 없었다. 결 론: 알쯔하이머형 치매환자군에서 혈관성 또는 혼재성치매치매환자군보다 ALDH2*2와 APOE*ε4 대립유전자의 빈도가 높게 나왔으나 통계학적으로 의미있는 차이는 없었다. A study on gene polymorphism of ALDH2 and APOE in patients with alzheimer's disease and vascular or mixed dementia. Objective : This study was designed to investigate gene polymorphism of ALDH2 and APOE, reported the risk factor of Alzheimer's disease, in korean dementia patients. Method : 59 Patients(male:19, female:40) with dementia, aged 65 and older in Buyeo geriatric hospital located in Buyeo-gun, chungnam, were finally included in this study. gene polymorphism of ALDH2 and APOE was typed with polymerase chain reaction in patients with Alzheimer's desease and vascular or mixed dementia. Results : 1) There was no difference in allelic frequency of ALDH2 gene polymorphism between patients with Alzheimer's disease and vascular or mixed dementia. 2) There was no difference in allelic frequency of APOE gene polymorphism between patients with Alzheimer's disease and vascular or mixed dementia. 3) Supposing APOE*ε4 and ALDH2*2 were equal risk allele of Alzheimer's disease, the sum of score by counting each risk allele was higher in patients with Alzheimer's disease than vascular mixed dementia, however there was no significant difference. Conclusion : The genotype frequency of ALDH2*(-/2) and APOE*(-/ε4) was higher in patients with Alsheimer's disease than vascular or mixed dementia, however there was no significant difference in allelic frequency of gene polymorphism of ALDH2 and APOE between patients with Alzheimer's disease and vascular or mixed dementia.

      • 정상인에서 베타3-아드레날린 수용체 유전자의 변이가 복부 비만도 및 지질대사에 미치는 영향

        The β₃-adrenergic receptor is expressed in visceral adipose tissue in humans and is thought to contribute to the regulation of the resting metabolic rate and lipolysis. We studied the influence of a mutation in the β₃ -adrenergic receptor gene(Trp64Arg) on body fat distribution, central obesity, lipid metabolism in 65 healthy young male adults. One out of 65 subjects were homozygous (Arg/Arg) for the trp64Arg mutation, 17 subjects were heterozygous (Trp/Arg), and 47 lacked the mutation(Trp/Trp). The body weight, height, body mass index, waist-to-hip ratio were similar between the subjects with- and without the mutation. Total body fat, abdominal fat amount, body fat distribution, serum total- and HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose, and insulin concentrations were also not different according to the presence or absence of the mutation. These results suggested that Trp64Arg mutation in β₃-adrenergic receptor gene is not a major contributing factor for central obesity or change in lipid metabolism in Korean young adults.

      • 회귀직선에서 우산형 대립가설에 대한 평행성의 점근 분포무관 검정법

        우산형 대립가설에 대한 회귀직선의 평행성을 검정하는 점근 분포무관 검정법을 제안하고, 제안된 검정통계량의 점근 분포를 포함한 점근적 성질들을 연구하고자 한다. 기존의 Kim과 Lim(1994)의 검정법과의 비교 연구를 통하여 제안된 검정법이 우수함을 보였다. An asymptotically distribution-free procedure is proposed for paralelism of krefression lines aganist umbrella alternatives. Asympototic properties arediscussed, and comparative results relative to Kim and Lim(1994)'s tests show that our precedure os generally more powerful.

        주물공장 근로자에서 발생한 국한성 석면폐증 1예

        배경: 주물공장 근로자에서 발생한 석면폐증의 작업 관련성을 평가하고 그 증례를 보고하고자 한다. 증례: 30년간 주물공장에서 근무한 환자로 인후통, 기침, 노란 가래가 있어 검사한 결과 결핵이 의심되어 치료 하였으며, 치료 중 석면폐증으로 진단되었다. 작업 관련성 평가를 위해 실시한 폐 조직의 조직학적 검사에서 1 cm^(2)당 3개의 석면소체가 발견되었고, 투과전자현미경으로 분석한 석면 함유량은 23.26x10^(6) fibers/g이었다. 결론: 작업환경조사, 폐 조직의 석면 분석 등을 통해 작업 관련성이 높다고 판단하였다. Background: Foundry workers are known to be exposed to silica and have an increased risk of Silicosis. There are also reports that state these foundry workers were associated with asbestos-related change in the X-ray results of the lungs. This report discusses a case of localized asbestosis developed in a foundry worker who worked in 12 Korean foundries. Case report: A 49-year-o1d man who worked at molding and melting for 30 years, Presented with sore throat, cough and yellow sputum for 1 month. From physical and clinical examination, Pulmonary tuberculosis was highly suspicious; therefore, he was medicated for 6 months. After tuberculosis medication, the radiological finding was reactivation of tuberculosis, and an asbestos body was detected at a trans-bronchial lung biopsy. During an operation, operators found multiple palpable masses and bullae 10calized in the right upper lobe (RUL) and performed right upper lobectomy and right middle lobe wedge resection. Using hematoxylin-eosin stain and iron stain, we could detect asbestos bodies by light microscopy. We analyzed the asbestos fiber burden in dry lung tissue by transmission electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (TEM-EDX). The fiber type was chrysotile and the fiber burden was 23.26 x 10^(6) fiber/g dry lung. Discussion: This case study of a foundry worker with localized asbestosis is uncommon in Korea. We found an occupational relationship between the foundry worker and localized asbestosis through various investigative techniques such as measurements taken at his working environment, clinical, radiological and pathological examination of the foundry worker and mineralogical examination of the asbestos fiber.

        직업적 노출에 의한 스티븐스-존슨 증후군에서 트리클로로에틸렌의 노출수준 : 3예의 사례와 문헌고찰을 중심으로

        배경: TCE는 심각한 전산적 피부염과 관련 있는 것으로 몇몇 사례들을 통해서 보고되어 왔으나,기존의 사례 보고들에서 노출평가가 수행된 사례는 드물었고 추정되는 노출량 역시 매우 다양하였다. 본 연구에서는 TCE 노출에 의한 것으로 판단되는 스티븐스-존슨 증후군 3예를 확인하고 각 사례들에 대한 작업재연을 통해 노출수준을 추정하였으며,이를 통해 TCE의 직업적 노출수준과 스티븐스-존슨 증후군을 포함하는 전신적 박탈성 피부염 발생의 관계를 이해하고자 하였다. 증례: 사례 1은 24세 필리핀인 여자로 TCE를 이용한 탈지작업을 시작한 35일 후 발진을 포함한 피부증상이 발생하였고 증상이 진행되면서 간기능 이상이 발견되었다. 환자는 스티븐스 존슨 증후군과 독성간염으로 진단되었고 증상발생 39일 간부전으로 사망하였다. 증상발생 전 약물 복용력은 없었고 바이러스 감염 등의 비직업적 원인은 찾을 수 없었으며,작업재연을 통한 TCE의 개인 노출수준 은 TWA 21.9 ppm과 32.3 ppm이었다. 사례 2는 47세 한국인 남자로 TCE를 이용한 탈지 작업을 시작한 20일 후 발진을 포함한 피부증상이 발생하였고 증상이 진행되면서 간기능 이상이 발견되었다. 환자는 중독성 표피괴사증 또는 스티븐스 -존슨 증후군, 전격성간염 및 동반된 패혈증으로 진단되었고 증상발생 42일 간부전 및 패혈증으로 사망하였다. 증상발생 전 약물복용력은 없었고 바이러스 감염 등의 비직업적 원인은 찾을 수 없었으며,작업재연을 통한 TCE의 개인 노출수준은 TWA 30.1 ppm이었으며 세척조 주위의 지역시료는 TWA 116.5 ppm∼229. 7 ppm 이었다. 사례 3은 22세 베트남인 여자로 TCE를 이용한 탐지작업을 시작한 30일 후 발전을 포함한 피부증상이 발생하였고 증상이 진행되면서 간기능 이상이 발견되었다. 환자는 스티븐스-존슨 증후군 및 동반된 독성간염으로 진단되었고 증상발생 37일 증세 호전되어 퇴원하였다. 증상발생전 약물복용력은 없었고 바이러스 감염 등의 비직업적 원인은 찾을 수 없었으며,작업재연을 통한 TCE의 개인 노출수준은 TWA 107.2 ppm이었다. 고찰: TCE에 노출된 일부의 사람들에서 노출 후 2주에서 5주 사이에 심각한 급성 간염이 동반되는 스티븐스­존슨 증후군이 발생할 수 있음을 확인 하였고,이번의 연구결과와 기존의 연구를 종합 할 때 TCE에 대한 감수성이 있는 사람의 상당수는 노출기준 이상의 고 노출에 노 출 후 스티븐스- 존슨 증후군이 발생함을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서. TCE에 대한 고 노출을 막기 위해 TCE 세척작업에 대한 작업환경 확인과 개선이 우선적으로 필요하며,동시에 노출 후 증상발생기간의 일관성과 노출기준 이하의 저 노출에서의 감작 가능성을 배제할 수 없음을 고려하여,작업시작 후 1개월경의 특수건강검진 역시 고려되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. Back ground: Trichloroethylene (TCE) has been reported to be related to severe generalized exfoliative dermatitis frequently accompanied by toxic hepatitis. The measurements of environmental exposure were limited in the previous case reports and the reported exposure values were also diverse. We reviewed three cases of Stevens-Johnson syndrome associated with TCE. The work environment was measured by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) after the cases occurred. From the study results, we intended to clarify the relationship between TCE exposure level and Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Case report: Case 1. A 24-year-o1d Filipino female worker developed a skin rash 35 days after starting to use TCE for degreasing. The skin rash developed into a bullous eruption and the liver function findings were abnormal. She was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic hepatitis. She died of hepatic failure 39 days after the onset of the first symptom. She had no previous history of taking medicine or viral infection. The work environment measured 22.0 to 32.3 ppm (Personal exposure level) with TWA. Case 2. A 47-year-o1d Korean male worker developed a skin rash, 20 days after starting to use TCE for degreasing. The skin rash developed into a bullous eruption and the liver function findings were abnormal. He was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic hepatitis and sepsis. He died of hepatic failure and sepsis 42 days after the onset ofthe first symptom. He had no previous history of taking medicine or viral infection. The work environment measured 30.1 ppm (Personal exposure level) and 116.5∼229.7 ppm (area exposure level close to the degreasing rnachine) with TWA. Case 3. A 22-year-old Vietnamese female worker developed a skin rash 30 days after starting to use TCE for degreasing. The skin rash developed into a bullous eruption and the liver function findings were abnormal. She was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic hepatitis. Her symptoms improved and she was discharged 37 days after the onset of the first symptom. She had no previous history of taking medicine or viral infection. The work environment measured 107.2 ppm (Personal exposure level) with TWA. Discussion: These three case reports and the previously reported cases indicated that the majority of people susceptible to TCE develops Stevens-Johnson syndrome after high-level TCE exposure (above the TWA occupational exposure limit of 50 ppm). Therefore, work environmental survey and improvements to the TCE degreasing process are essential to prevent high exposure. Furthermore, considering the consistency of the latency period in symptoms and the possibility of sensitization in low-level exposure, we recommend that the first specific health examination also should be conducted 1 month after workers have commenced working.

        경희대학교 국제캠퍼스 걷고 싶은 거리 조성계획

        Kyung-Hee University Global Campus accepted changing of education environment to adapt to the World's information technology society so that school has been preparing the Master plan to grow up campus's vision since 2007. However, realization of the Master plan need a lot of financial resources, much times and phases in improvement. Especially, our university needs symbolized business in 2009 due to the 60th anniversary of our university. Based on this we want to improve the main entrance road environment from school gate to the school of international management and reconstruct the spatial environment beside the main road. The purpose of this research is to construct a pedestrian space environment and reconstruct the campus environment which adapt to the new times' demands. That is why the Master plan is trying to find the landscape scenic which adapts to our school' s main entrance space and the improvement method about the pedestrian space of the Global campus to congratulate of our university's 60th anniversary.
