The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics, change in physique and physical function of college students majoring physical education and Taekwondo (454 males and 64 females of age groups ranging from 18 to 26). The results are as following: 1. The male group of 23yrs old in physical education showed highest values in 7 items(Weight, Chest Girth, Fore Arm Girth, Thigh Girth, Calf Girth, Scapular Skinfold Thickness and Suprailiac Skinfold Thickness). 2. In the Physical function, the male group of 18yrs old showed highest values in Power, Flexibility, and then 21yrs old at Back Strength, Vital Capacity, and 23yrs old at Grip Strength, and 25yrs old at Blood Pressure, respectively. 3. In the physique, the male group of 22yrs old showed highest values in Weight, Chest Girth, Thigh Girth, Calf Girth, and then 24yrs old Upper Arm Girth, Fore Arm Girth, and 19yrs old at Height, Upper Limb Length, respectively. 4. In Physical Function, the 22yrs old showed highest values in Back Strength, Vital Capacity, and then 23yrs old at Side Step, Trunk Extension, but 18yrs old showed lower Values in Grip Strength, Side Step, Vital Capacity and Blood Pressure. 5. The female group of 22yrs old showed highest values in 8 items(Height, Sitting Height, Waist Girth, Upper Limb Length, Lower Limb Length, Skinfold Thickness), and then 18yrs old at 5 items (Weight, Upper Arm Girth, Fore Arm Girth, Thigh Girth, Calf Girth), respectively. 6. In the physical function, the 22yrs old showed highest Values in Grip strength, Back Strength, Power, 5 Minute Run, and 18yrs old at flexibility, Harvard Step Test, respectively. 7. In the change of the physique for two years(1988-1989) in the male group, majoring Physical education the 22yrs old showed increase in 4 items, and the 20yrs old in 3 items, but 18yrs old showed decrease in 3 items. 8. In the change of the physical function for two years in the male group, the 20yrs old showed increase in 4 items, and the 21, 25, 26yrs old in 3 items, but the 19yrs old showed decrease in 6 items, and 18, 22 yrs old in 5 items, respectively. 9. The change of the physique for two years in all female group, of 18, 19, 20, 21yrs old showed increase in 11 items except Skinfold Thickness. 10. In the change of physical function for two years in female group, the 18yrs old showed increase in 3 items, and then 20yrs old in 5 items, but 19, 22yrs old decreased 12 items, respectively. 11. The highest significant difference in physique between male and female was found in weight(mean Value 17.5%), and the lowest difference was found Thigh Girth, Calf Girth(1,3%), Upper Limb Length, Lower Limb Length(2.5%). 12. The Highest difference in physical function was Strength (mean Value 40%), Vital Capacity (33%), Power(22%), but Lower Trunk Flexion, Foot Balance(3.4%). 13. In the difference of Physique and physical function between physical education major and taekwondo major, the physical education showed higher values in skinfold Thickines (mean Value 16.5%), Weight, Waist Girth(4.7%) and Strength(33%), Endurance(5.6%), but subjects majoring Taekwondo showed higher values in Flexibility and Foot Balance. 14. In all male groups, Waist Girth, Scapular Skinfold Thickness, Back Strength, Sargent Jump, Trunk Extension and Diastolic Blood Pressure were showed a significantly related at 0.001 level.

서울의 Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae 발생빈도(1994)

Background : In recent years gonorrhoea has been panendemic and remains one of the most common Sexually Transmitted Diseases in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Method : For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae(PPNG), Ive have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results : In 1994, 168 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 109 (64,9% ) were PPNG. Conclustion : Our results suggests that the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is still increasing.

판별분석법을 이용한 관상동맥질환 고위험군의 예측

The objective of this study is to predict the high risk group of coronary artery disease from body mass index, blood pressure, fasting blood sugar and serum lipids level using the method of discriminant analysis. Variables with significant difference between coronary artery disease group and normal group were HDS-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, LDL-C, and TG. But the acuity did not exceed 70% in any single variable. As the results of discriminant analysis, statistically significant discriminant variables were HDL-C, T-chol, FBS and TG. The discriminant equation was(Y) = -0.06759(HDL-C) + 0.01498(T-chol),+0.01923(FBS) - 0.01421(TG) + 0.5187, and the overall discriminant power using the above 4 variables was 79.3%

The purpose of this study was to compare the characterists and change in physique and physical function by college student of physical education major(287males and 40 females of age groups ranging from 18 to 26). The results were as following; 1) The characteristics of physique and physical function by sex and age. ① The male group of 18yrs old showed higher values in Height, Weight, Upper Limb Length, Strength, Flexibility, and Vital Capacity than any other groups, but female group showed lower values in Height, Weight, Chest Girth, Lower Limb Length, Thigh, Girth, Calf Girth and all of the Physical function. ② The male group of 19yrs old showed high values in power and Agility, then female group showed in Strength and Flexibility. ③ The male group of 20yrs old showed the lower values in Weight, Waist Girth, Upper Limb Length, Fore Arm Girth, Thigh Girh.Calf Girth, Vital Capacity, and female group are very lowed in Upper Arm Lenght, Fore Arm Length, Skin Fold Thickness and 5 minute Run. ④ The male group of 23yrs old showed the high values in Upper Arm Girth, Fore Arm Girth and Balance, and then female group higher in Weight, Chest Girth, Waist Girth, Upper Arm Girth, Fore Arm Girth, Thigh Girth, Power, Shuttle Run, Balance and vital capacity than any other age Groups. ⑤ In male group, Chest Girth, and Blood Pressure were significantly related, and Side Step and Trunk Extension were nagatively related to the age at 0.1% level, and then in female group, Sargent Jump, Standing Long Jump and Vital Capacity were showed a significantly related at 0.5% level. 2) The difference of physique and physical function between male and female by age. ① Everage difference in whole physique items except skinfold thickness was 9.8%, and that 21.1% in all of physical function except Trunk Flextion between male and female group subjects. ② About the ages, the 18yrs old male group showed the 22.8% higher values of 26 items, but 22yrs old male group were about 12.2% in 23 items, thus it is very lower than any other groups. 3) The difference of physique and physical function between General group and physical education group in age-matched. ① In the physique male physical education groups showed about 7% higher in Weight, Chest Girth, Upper Limb Length, Upper Arm Girth, Thigh Girth, and female group showed about 7% higher in Weight and Upper Limb Length. ② In the physical function, Trunk Flextion, 5 minute Run, and Blood Pressure(Diastolic) were about 8% high values in whole group, and female group showed about 8% higher in Standing Long Jump, Shuttle Run, and Trunk Extension. ③ In 22yrs old male and female physical education group were very dominated in physique and physical function than the other age group against the general group.

한국에서 한 일간지 신문기사 검색을 통한 IMF 전과 후의 자살 양상 비교

Objectives : Under an IMF bailout program, our country's financial situation forced people to change many things suddenly. Therefore, this study was attempted to search the aspects of changes of suicide attempts in order to find out how the financial crisis affects people's suicide attempts, the extreme repertoire for psychological change Method : November 21, 1997, the day issued the application of IMF bailout program, is the basic date for comparing the changes, on a certain newspaper(Dong-A daily newspaper). The condition was divided into two, namely before and after the basic date, and the characteristics of suicide were compared between two conditions. Results : The news of suicide increased more after than before the application of IMF situation. (before:105, after:158) Specially, for 30-50 years old, active age in community, the rate of suicide attempts reached twice than that of the others. After the IMF situation, the prominent reason of suicide was the financial crisis. For the type of suicide, the family suicide was remarkably increased after the IMF situation. Conclusion : The frequency of the news of suicide was higher after than before IMF bailout program. The major reason of suicide was the financial crisis. Considering that the social and economic crisis affects people's view of death, psychosocial interventions are necessary for their mental health.

Background and Objectives: Intentional self-mutilation of the genitals in male is exceedingly rare. As the authors experienced 3 cases of male genital self-mutilation while psychotic, we investigated with psychiatric points of view including general and psychiatric characteristics of genital self-mutilation in Korea. Materials and Methods: Total 21 cases of the genital injury were obtained from the index book of Journal of Korean Neuropsychiatric Association and the Electronic Library Search Engine. From these, excluding the 4 accident-caused cases of penile amputation, the authors investigated 17 cases in terms of general epidemiological characteristics, the type of mutilation, diagnostic classification, psychodynamics of their behavior. Results: Epidemiological data showed that the most of the genital self-mutilation cases are twenties (52.9%); most are single (64.7%). In terms of the mutilation types, complete transection of penis type were committed most frequently (72.1%). The formal diagnoses were mainly schizophrenia (82.3%) and schizoid personality disorder(11.8%). Psychodynamically, lots of cases could be explained as to punish failures in the male role (20.6%), related to religiosity (14.7%), and related to physical pain or somatic illness (14.7%). Conclusion: We are unable to say exactly what prompts a man to divest himself of his genitals. On the basis of 17 cases, we are willing to hazard several risk factors. For individuals psychotic at the time of act there seem to be at least three paradigmatic at-risk groups: (1) younger acutely psychotic men with related to cure or punish failures in the male role, (2) the men with personality disorders who act rageful feelings against themselves and/or close objects, and (3) sociocultural factors known to contribute to such an act include some complex religious belief regarding purification or resisting temptation. Psychological factors yet undetermined may be' equally important.

Brucella abortus 국내 분리주의 Heat Shock Protein 암호 groE 유전자의 염기서열 분석과 발현

GroE that is a heat shock protein composed of GroEL and GroES is known as an immunodominant target of both the humoral and cellular immune responses in bovine brucellosis. This study was carried out to characterize groE gene encoding heat shock proteins of B. abortus isolated in Korea and to evaluate the immunogenicity of the GroE protein expressed in E. coli system. In PCR the specific signals with the size of 2,077 bp were detected in five strains isolated from the mammary lymphnodes of the dairy cattle that were serologically positive and the reference strains. In comparison of the sequences of nucleotides and amino acids among the strains, GroES showed 100% identity in both sequences. GroEL was evaluated 99.0∼99.9% in nucleotides and 98.0∼100% homology in amino acids. The groE gene including groES and groEL was inserted into pET29a vector and constructed pET29a-GroE recombinant plasmids. The inserted groE was confirmed by digestion with Ncol and EcoRl endonucleases and nucleotide sequencing. E. coli BL (DE3) was transformed with pET29a-GroE, named as E. coli BL (DE3)/pET29a-GroE. In SDS-PAGE, it was evident that the recombinant plasmid effectively expressed the polypeptides for GroES (10 kDa) and GroEL (60 kDa) in 0.5, and 2 hours after IPTG induction. The immuno-reactivity of the expressed proteins were proved in mouse inoculation and Western blot analysis.

倒産豫測模型比較에 관한 實證的 硏究

This study is to compare discriminant model with logit model to incremental predictive power of bankrupt and nonbankrupt firms. For these purpose, this study follows the procedures described below. 1. For a sample of bankrupt companies, 25 firms are selected among failed firms in Korea between 1990 and 1992. And as nonbankrupt companies sample, the same number of firms of similar size in total asset are selected at random in the same industry. 2. Selected independent variables are 6 financial ratios. 3. Discriminant and logit analysis are used to classify failed and nonfailed firms. Results of this study suggest that logit analysis is superior to discriminant analysis in the theoretical sides. Also, in the classifying correct, that inferior to this.

락탐화합물의 고리 확장 연구 : 입체 선택성과 Mechanism에 관한 연구 Study of Stereoselectivity and Mechanism

The ring expansion chemistry is one of the most important methods to prepare five-and six-membered heterocylic compounds. We have studied about γ-lactam ring expansion with stereoselectivity from β-lactam derivative. To do this chemistry, proton of N-benzyl group in β-lactam derivatives is eliminated by LDA and make carbanion.This anion make unstable 4-membered lactam intermediate, and then the ring is opened by homo clevage or hetero cleavage for releasing ring strain, followed by recyclization to one carbon to make γ-lactam ring with stereoselectivity in β-, γ- positions.

The chamber has a diffuser in the middle of the floor, and exhausts on the ceiling, simulating underfloor air conditioning system.
