The droplet behavior of 83.9 wt.% HAN water solution was investigated experimentally with various ambient temperature and nitrogen environment. At the initial stage of evaporation under thermal decomposition temperature of HAN, gradual decreasing of droplet diameter was observed. After that, the droplet started to expand due to the internal pressure build up by water nucleation inside the droplet. The micro explosion was observed at higher temperature than the decomposition temperature of HAN and the remaining droplet showed similar behavior of single composition droplet. The decreasing rate was augmented as the ambient temperature increasing.
수소화를 고려한 다결정 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터의 전기적 스트레스의 영향

We have investigated the effects of electrical stress on poly-Si TFTs with different hydrogen passivation conditions. The amounts of threshold voltage shift of hydrogen passivated poly-Si TFTs are much larger than those of as-fabricated devices both under the gate bias stressing and under the gate and drain bias stressing. Also, we have quantitatively analyzed the degradation phenomena using by analytical method we have suggested that the electron trapping in the gate dielectric is the dominant degradation mechanism in only gate bias stressed poly-Si TFT while the creation of defects in the channel region and poly-Si/SiO_2 interface is prevalent in gate and drain bias stressed device.
LDD 구조의 다결정 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터의 특성과 최적화

We have fabricated a LDD structured polysilicon thin film transistor with low leakge current and be optimized LDD length has been obtained. The device performance is improved by hydrogen passivation process. The on/off current ratio of poly-Si TFT's with 0.5㎛ and 1.0㎛ LDD length is much higher than that of conventional structured device due to the decrease of leakage current. The optimized LDD length may be 0.5㎛ from the experimental data such as on/off current ratio, threshold voltage and hydrogenation effect.

We have fabricated a novel gradually doped drain(GDD) structured poly-Si thin-film transistor. The GDD poly-Si TFTs reduce a fabrication process step, compared with the conventional LDD poly-Si TFT. without LDD implant by employing taper etched Si0_2 film instead of LDD implantation mask. The leakage current of GDD device is reduced two orders of magnitude from 21.52×10 exp (-9) A to 0.14×10 exp (-9) A in OFF state while keeping the ON current to be almost identical to that of the non-LDD poly-Si TFT's After 5 hours hydrogen passivation, the ON/OFF current ratio is increased by four times of magnitude, and the device characteristics, such as threshold voltage, subthreshold slope and leakage current, are improved remarkably.
RAW 264.7 세포에 대한 중국산 천연 광물성 섬유 TAFMAG의 독성효과

Objectives : This study was designed to evaluate cytotoxicity of TAFMAG, which is a trade name of natural mineral fiber mined and produced in China. Methods : The cytotoxicity of TAFMAG was evaluated by measuring iron content, lipid peroxidation, erythrocyte hemolysis, and cytotoxicity in vitro. These results were compared with the data of chrystotile and wollastonite as a positive and negative control, respectively. Results : There was significant increase of Fenton activity in TAFMAG and chrysotile with dose-response pattern. The iron chelating agent, desferrioxamine, significantly decreased Fenton activity of the particulates except wollastonite. TAFMAG and chrysotile fibers significantly increased malondialdehyde concentration from lipid peroxidation of the red blood cell membrane. In erythrocyte hemolysis test, TAFMAG & chrysotile had stronger effect on erythrocyte hemolysis than wollastonite with the concentration of 1,000g/ml. Furthermore, TAFMAG was more hemolytic than chrysotile with the concentration of 5,000g/ml. There was a significant cytotoxic effect in TAFMAG and chrysotile on RAW cell compared with wollastonite. Conclusions : In vitro study suggested that TAFMAG may have a similar health hazard as usual asbestos.

An unconscious 20 year old male carried into the emergency department after an electric shock injury 20 minutes earlier. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was undertaken when asystole appeared on the electrocardiograph monitor. A 12-lead electrocardiograph was taken when in that myocardial infarction was found after performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on an electrical injury patient. We present out case's electrocardiographs with echocardio-graphic findings and radionuclide imaging studies.
Hypoallergenic and Physicochemical Properties of the A2 β-Casein Fraction of Goat Milk

Goat milk has a protein composition similar to that of breast milk and contains abundant nutrients, but its use in functional foods is rather limited in comparison to milk from other sources. The aim of this study was to prepare a goat A2 β-casein fraction with improved digestibility and hypoallergenic properties. We investigated the optimal conditions for the separation of A2 β-casein fraction from goat milk by pH adjustment to pH 4.4 and treating the casein suspension with calcium chloride (0.05 M for 1 h at 25°C). Selective reduction of β- lactoglobulin and αs-casein was confirmed using sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. The hypoallergenic property of A2 β-casein fraction was examined by measuring the release of histamine and tumor necrosis factor alpha from HMC-1 human mast cells exposed to different proteins, including A2 β-casein fraction. There was no significant difference in levels of both indicators between A2 β-casein treatment and the control (no protein treatment). The A2 β-casein fraction is abundant in essential amino acids, especially, branched-chain amino acids (leucine, valine, and isoleucine). The physicochemical properties of A2 β-casein fraction, including protein solubility and viscosity, are similar to those of bovine whole casein which is widely used as a protein source in various foods. Therefore, the goat A2 β-casein fraction may be useful as a food material with good digestibility and hypoallergenic properties for infants, the elderly, and people with metabolic disorders.

In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.
Ca<SUP>2</SUP>-activated K<SUP></SUP> Currents of Pancreatic Duct Cells in Guinea-pig

There are numerous studies on transepithelial transports in duct cells including Cl<SUP></SUP> and/or HCO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP></SUP>. However, studies on transepithelial K<SUP></SUP> transport of normal duct cells in exocrine glands are scarce. In the present study, we examined the characteristics of K<SUP></SUP> currents in single duct cells isolated from guinea pig pancreas, using a whole-cell patch clamp technique. Both Cl<SUP></SUP> and K<SUP></SUP> conductance were found with KCl rich pipette solutions. When the bath solution was changed to low Cl<SUP></SUP>, reversal potentials shifted to the negative side, 75⁑4 mV, suggesting that this current is dominantly selective to K<SUP></SUP>. We then characterized this outward rectifying K<SUP></SUP> current and examined its Ca<SUP>2</SUP> dependency. The K<SUP></SUP> currents were activated by intracellular Ca<SUP>2</SUP>. 100 nM or 500 nM Ca<SUP>2</SUP> in pipette significantly (P<0.05) increased outward currents (currents were normalized, 76.8⁑7.9 pA, n=4 or 107.9⁑35.5 pA, n=6) at 100 mV membrane potential, compared to those with 0 nM Ca<SUP>2</SUP> in pipette (27.8⁑3.7 pA, n=6). We next examined whether this K<SUP></SUP> current, recorded with 100 nM Ca<SUP>2</SUP> in pipette, was inhibited by various inhibitors, including Ba<SUP>2</SUP>, TEA and iberiotoxin. The currents were inhibited by 40.4⁑% (n=3), 87.0⁑% (n=5) and 82.5⁑% (n=9) by 1 mM Ba<SUP>2</SUP>, 5 mM TEA and 100 nM iberiotoxin, respectively. Particularly, an almost complete inhibition of the current by 100 nM iberiotoxin further confirmed that this current was activated by intracellular Ca<SUP>2</SUP>. The K<SUP></SUP> current may play a role in secretory process, since recycling of K<SUP></SUP> is critical for the initiation and sustaining of Cl<SUP></SUP> or HCO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP></SUP> secretion in these cells.
