Frog culture industry is not yet familiar but has much potential. Generally, in farm, the population density is higher than that of in nature and frog farm is not the exception. But when population density is high, it can easily leads to stressful condition, poor sanitation. When a disease occur, it is a primary factor that makes the population more susceptible and the results more grave. Because of severe Rhabditoidea- helminth infection and subsequent bacterial septicemia, 50¡­70% of the total population had been died in a farm in Jeong-sun in Gangwon-do and Chungju in Chungcheongbuk-do from late June, 2012 to September, 2012. Diseased frogs showed ruptured lung, bloody ascites, liver discoloration, myocardium weakness, congested kidney, microcytic anemia and so on. Enterobacteriacea, Citrobacter.sp, Cupriavidus metallidurans, Acinetobacter.sp were isolated as major bacterium that had caused septicemia in frogs. Among isolated bacterium, Cupriavidus metallidurans, Ewingella americana, Shewanella aquimarina and Pseudoalteromonas sp. have not reported as potential pathogens in frogs before. It is a good example that severe helminth infection in frogs can lead to secondary infection of bacteria.

Acinetobacter species is a non-fermentative aerobic gram-negative coccobacillus that is an important pathogen found in nosocomial infections. Recently, multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MDR-AB) infections have been increasing and pose a serious problem. Most such infections present as bacteremia, pneumonia, or a wound infection; however, CNS infections are very rare. We herein present a case of ventriculitis caused by MDR-AB in a 37-year old man after a neurosurgical intervention. The patient was successfully treated with intrathecal colistimethate.

모체 Thyroxine 투여가 태아알코올효과를 가진 흰쥐 대뇌겉질 및 해마에서 NPY함유 신경세포의 생후 발달에 미치는 영향

Background and Objectives: Maternal alcohol abuse is considered to be one of the most prominent cause of neurobiological malformations in the postnatal and adult life of the offspring. In this study, we investigated the effects of maternal alcohol drinking on the postnatal development of NPY-containing neuron, and, the influence of thyroxine treatment on the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of pups of alcohol abused mother. Materials and Method: Time-pregnant rats were divided into three groups. Alcohol-fed group A received 35 calories of liquid alcohol diet daily from gestation day 6; control pair-fed group B was fed a liquid diet in dextrin replaced alcohol isocalorically: alcohol + T4 group C received 35 calories liquid alcohol diet and exogenous thyroxine subcutaneously. Results: Group C showed prominent NPY immunoreactivity in the cerebral cortex compared to group A and B at P7. In group C, NPY-containing neurons were widely distributed in the all layers of cerebral cortex after P14. Besides, numerical decrease of NPY-containing neuron as age increases was not found in group C. However, the decrease of NPY-containing neuron was clearly observed in group A compared to group C after P14. In hippocampus, group Band C were appeared similar patterns after P7. Additionally, in group C, NPY immunoreactivity was prominently appeared in CA2 and CA3 at P14 as compared to group B. Conclusions: The present results showed the increase of intensity and number of NPY-containing neurons in cerebral cortex and hippocampus of pups of exogenous T₄ supplemented alcohol-exposed dams as compared to control pair-fed and alcohol-exposed pups at P7. It presumably suggest that NPY-containing neurons might be regulated by the early postnatal growth stimulatory effect of the exogenously supplemented T₄. Therefore, the increase of NPY synthesis caused by maternal administration of exogenous thyroxine may ameliorate fetal alcohol effect, one of the ill effects as a result of the dysthyroid state following maternal alcohol abuse.

This study analyzes the symbolism of costume in the genre paintings of Yoon Bok Shin, the great artist of Korea in eighteenth century, baseed on the symbolic interaction theory, We classify the symbolic character into two categories, the symbolism of social status and position as a social factor, and erotic symbol as a sexual factor. The symbolism of the social status and position include the sex, age, class, occupation, and dignity. From the costume in the paintings, the symbolic character of the clothing in the social and sexual contexts can be visualized.

고주파수 근사 이론을 이용한 결함으로부터의 초음파 산란장 해석

본 논문에서는 체적형 결함과 균열형 결함에 대한 초음파 산란 현상을 모델링하기 위한 두 가지 이론을 설명하였다. 동탄성 Kirchhoff 근사 (EKA)와 기하학적 회절이론 (GTD)이 각각 원주형 기공과 반무한 균열에 적용되었다. 이 두 이론은 고주파수 근사법으로 알려져 있다. 모델 결함들에 평면파가 입사하는 경우의 2차원 동탄성 산란 문제를 고려하였으며 산란장을 반사계수와 회절계수의 항으로 구하였다. 원거리에서 산란파의 변위에 대한 입사파 변위의 비를 관찰 방향의 함수로 구했으며 그 결과를 경계요소법과 비교하였다. This paper describes two different theories used to model the scattering of ultrasound by a volumetric flaw and a crack-like flaw. The elastodynamic Kirchhoff approximation (EKA) and the geometrical theory of diffraction(GTD) are applied respectively to a cylindrical cavity and a semi-infinite crack. These methods are known as high frequency approximations. The 2-D elastodynamic scattering problems of a plane wave incident on these model defects are considered and the scattered fields are expressed in terms of the reflection and diffraction coefficients. The ratio of the scattered far field amplitude to the incident wave amplitude is computed as a function of the angular location and compared with the boundary element solutions.

예술사조와 패션과의 Parallelism에 관한 연구 : Focusing on Modernism and the Flapper Look 모더니즘과 플래퍼 룩을 중심으로

This paper analyzes the parallelism between the art trend and the fashion. As a representative case, we consider the Modernism and the Flapper look. The Modernism rejected the tradition of the past and pursued something new. This trend was in parallel with the fashion called flapper look which was against the tradition and made a drastic change. The factors which represent the spirit of the age of the Modernism are the simplicity, the rejection of the tradition, the individualism and the subfectivity, the functionalism, the fragmetnation of the self, and the straight line, We discuss the fashion style of the flapper look in terms of these factors.

뇌동맥류 수술환자의 정신신경학적 분석

The mortality rate of aneurysmal surgery had recently been reduced remarkably due to mordern microsurgical technique and refinement of the timing of operation. Despite recovery without neurological deficits, many patients remain with emotional and psychological sequelae postoperatively. We evaluated 33 patients, operated on intracranial aneurysm for recent 2 years, about quality of life and degree of cognitive function. For proper evaluation of outcome of aneurysmal surgery, in addition to the neurological outcome, psychological aspects must be considered.

To estimate tumor CEA expression of stomach cancers in relation to normal mucosa CEA, degree of cellular differentiation, pathologic stage and other clinicopathologic findings, we measured CEA concentrations in tissue extracts by radioimmunoassay for 24 cases of stomach cancer. The results were as follows: 1. Ranges of tissue CEA concentrations in normal stomach mucosa was from 6.Ong/gm to 15.4 ng/gm(mean 10.2ng/gm). 2. Mean conceatrations of cancer tissue CEA was 42.1ng/gm(from 2.9 ng/gm to 414.Ong/gm), 4 times higher than normal mucosa. In 46% of stomach cancers, tissue CEA concentrations was above normal cut off value(18.7ng/gm). 3. Tiuse CEA concentrations of stomach cancer was significantly high as high CEA levels of normal mucosa(r=0.6954), not related to serum CEA concentrations. 4. Tissue CEA concentrations of stomach cancer was high as high TNM stage, but was not related to wall invasion depth, lymph node metastasis, cellular differentiation and other clinicopathologic findings. In conclusion, the production of CEA in stomach cancers was significantly increased in half cases, CEA expression of tumor was related to pathologic stage rather than cellular differentiation. The factors determined CEA production was considered more higher levels such as DNA profile. To estimate prognostic values of tissue CEA concentrations, follow up of included patients and further study should be pursued.

Modified Hogan 법을 이용한 범인두 부전 환자의 인두피판 성형술

A competent velopharyngeal sphincter is essential for intelligible speech. If the velopharyngeal incompetence exist, the seal will not be complete during speech, with a resultant hypernasal speech quality. The patient with velopharyngeal incompetence(VPI) may develope other compensatory speech problems. There are many approaches available to correct veolpharyngeal incompetence, which include speech therapy, push back palatorrhaphy, pharyngeal wall implants and pharyngoplasty. This is cases report of velopharyngeal incompetence, which were successfully treated by superiorly based pharyngeal flap, covered with splitted hinge flap of nasal lining mucosa of the soft palate, named modified Hogan method. The advantages of this method are precision in the approximation of the flap due to pentagonal shaped flap design, good flood supply due to omission of the midsagittal incision on nasal lining mucosa, and simplicity than Hogan method.
