        Association of 20 potential ATP2B1‐interacting genes with blood pressure in Koreans

        Plasma membrane calcium‐transporting ATPase 1 (ATP2B1)is associated significantly with blood pressure in Caucasians and Asians. ATP2B1 regulates calcium homeostasis and belongs to the P‐type calcium pump family; several studies have identified diverse proteins that bind to ATP2B1. We hypothesized that ATP2B1 regulates blood pressure through ATP2B1‐interacting genes. To this end, 20 potential ATP2B1‐interacting genes were selected, 197 SNPs of which were analyzed for their association of systolic and diastolic blood pressure. These 20 genes were categorized into 2 groups: ATP2B1‐binding genes and ATP2B1‐cleaving calpain family members. Three ATP2B1‐binding genes (CALM1, NOS1, and PDLIM1)were associated with blood pressure, and a SNP in CALM1(rs2401887) generated the strongest association signal (beta=‐3.60±0.92, p=8.9×10^(‐5) for systolic blood pressure and beta=‐1.40±0.62, p=0.02 for diastolic blood pressure). Of the calpain family members, 3 genes (CAPN6, CAPN9, and CAPN10)were associated with blood pressure, and the CAPN10 SNP rs4676348 yielded the strongest association signal (beta=‐0.88±0.27, p=0.001 for systolic blood pressure and beta=‐0.58±0.18, p=0.015 for diastolic blood pressure). Further, the interaction of CALM1 to ATP2B1 was examined using the blood pressure of individuals who carried both variants of CALM1and ATP2B1 genes. Similarly the interaction of CAPN10 to ATP2B1 was also examined. The CALM1 variant (rs2401887)and CAPN10 variants (rs4676348) appear to decrease blood pressure further in addition to the decrease by the variant (rs17249754) of ATP2B1, which suggests that ATP2B1 might regulate blood pressure through the ATP2B1‐interacting genes CALM1 and CAPN10.

        A Study on FIFA Partner Adidas of 2022 Qatar World Cup Using Big Data Analysis

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the big data of Adidas brand participating in the Qatar World Cup in 2022 as a FIFA partner to understand useful information, semantic connection and context from unstructured data.Therefore, this study collected big data generated during the World Cup from Adidas participating in sponsorship as a FIFA partner for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and collected data from major portal sites to understand its meaning. According to text mining analysis, ‘Adidas’ was used the most 3,340 times based on the frequency of keyword appearance, followed by ‘World Cup’, ‘Qatar World Cup’, ‘Soccer’, ‘Lionel Messi’, ‘Qatar’, 'FIFA’, ‘Korea', and ‘Uniform’. In addition, the TF-IDF rankings were ‘Qatar World Cup’, ‘Soccer’, ‘Lionel Messi’, ‘World Cup’, ‘Uniform’, ‘Qatar’, ‘FIFA’, ‘Ronaldo’, ‘Korea’, and ‘Nike’. As a result of semantic network analysis and CONCOR analysis, four groups were formed. First, Cluster A named it ‘Qatar World Cup Sponsor’ as words such as ‘Adidas’, ‘Nike’, ‘Qatar World Cup’, ‘Sponsor’, ‘Sponsor Company’, ‘Marketing’, ‘Nation’, ‘Launch’, ‘Official’, ‘Commemoration’ and ‘National Team’ were formed into groups. Second, B Cluster named it ‘Group stage’ as words such as ‘Qatar’, ‘Uruguay’, ‘FIFA’ and ‘group stage’ were formed into groups. Third, C Cluster named it ‘Winning’ as words such as ‘World Cup Winning’, ‘Champion’, ‘France’, ‘Argentina’, ‘Lionel Messi’, ‘Advertising’ and ‘Photograph’ formed a group. Fourth, D Cluster named it ‘Official Ball’ as words such as ‘Official Ball’, ‘World Cup Official Ball’, ‘Soccer Ball’, ‘All Times’, ‘Al Rihla’, ‘Public’, ‘Technology’ was formed into groups.

        Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is the most common non-epithelial neoplasm arising in the gastrointestinal tract, but this tumor is rarely seen in association with type l neurofibromatosis (NFl) Generally, the majority of GISTs are isolated neoplasm and they are sporadically found in the stomach, but the GISTs in NFl patients are usually multiple and usually found in the small intestine. We report a case of multiple GISTs in the jejunum of a 63-year-old woman diagnosed as NFl accompanied by complication of gastrointestinal bleeding, In this case, Patient had multiple cafe-au lait spots and neurofibroma on skin and had freckling on axilla and groin, and then, we made a diagnosis of NFl. Gastrointestinal bleeding is controlled by resection of multiple GISTs. Generally, only 3-5% of all gastrointestinal bleeding comes from the small bowel. Causes of small intestinal bleeding are angiodysplasia, neoplasm, NSAIDs induced ulcer etc. but, If patients have NFl accompanied by complication of gastrointestinal bleeding, GISTs on small bowel must be considered.

        The purpose of this study is to understand a term of 'Jangbu theory 臟腑論' in 'Dong-Eui-Su-Se-Bo-Won 東醫壽世保元' . The conclusion would be summerized as follows. 1.'Jangbu theory 臟腑論' of 'Sa-Sang medicine 四象醫學' is based on 'Sa-Sang structure 四象構造' . 2.'Mind 心' of 'Sa-Sang medicine 四象醫學' is recognised as the Lord of body. 3.'four-Jang 四臟' and 'four-Bu 四腑' constitute 'Sa-Sang structure 四象構造' which is based on the deviation of 'vital energy 氣', and 'four-Jang 四贓' plays a loading role. 4.'Sacho 四焦' explaine the whole function of human body including one's heart's desire, physical constitution and the visceral physiology. 5.'ear-eye-nose-mouth 耳 目 鼻 口' is connected with 'the profound secrets of nature 天機' and also has a close relation with creation of 'spirit-vital energy-blood-essence 神氣血精' and spiritual function. 6.'SaHae theory 四海論' of 'Dong Mu 東武' is philosophical concept set on the basis of 'nature 天性' and 'life 入命'. 7.'spirit-vital energy-blood-essence 神氣血精' doesn't have the relation of mutual transformation. It's creation and consumption lies on 'the power of ear-eye-nose-mouth 耳目鼻口之力'. 8.'Sa-Sang medicine 四象醫學' expands its theory centering on the deviation of 'vital energry 氣'and the transversaa circulation of 'SaHae 四海'. According to the above result, 'Jangbu theory 臟腑論' in 'Dong-Hui-Su-Se-Bo-Won 東醫壽世保元' should be understood on the basis of' Sacho 四焦' and 'SaHae 四海' according to 'Sa-Sang structure 四象構造' , accompanying philosophical thinking focused on human and society, the centural concept of 'Jangbu theory 臟腑論' could be said as' Mind 心' to be the Lord of body.

        한방 닭죽 개발 및 최적 배합비율 확립

        죽의 기능성 향상을 위하여 2:1:1:1의 배합으로 혼합한 한약재료(가시오가피, 숙지황, 산약, 백복령)와 닭가슴살 등의 재료를 사용해 한방 영양죽을 제조하였다. 한방 닭죽의 DPPH radical 소거능, SOD 유사활성, 맛의 선호도, cost는 수학적인 canonical model과 trace plot을 이용하여 분석한 결과, SOD 유사활성 이외에는 각 성분들이 독립적으로 작용하여 상호작용이 없는 선형 모델을 보여주었다. DPPH radical 소거능, SOD 유사활성, 맛의 선호도를 최대로, cost를 최소로 목적 범위를 설정하고, 각각의 canonical 계수를 이용하여 수적 최적화를 통하여 최적 배합비를 구한 결과, 한약 혼합물 101g, 닭가슴살 38.66g, 찹쌀 비율 41.34g의 최적 배합비를 구하였으며, 이 배합비에 따른 맛의 선호도는 6.39, DPPH radical 소거능은 17.25㎎VCE/ℓ, SOD 유사활성은 2.25%, cost는 1,382.39 won으로 나타났으며, 여러 결과들 사이에 최적화된 한 값에 수렴하는 desirability는 0.714로 나타났다. 이는 한약혼합물이 많을수록 기능성 면에서는 높게 나타나지만 맛의 선호도면에서는 낮게 나타냈고, 닭가슴살의 경우에도 그 함량이 많을수록 맛의 선호도는 올라갔지만 그에 반해 cost가 높게 올라간 것을 반영한 결과로 사료된다. The objectives of this study were to develop porridge with medicinal herbs and chicken breast meat and to find out the optimum mixing ratio. Several herb extracts such as Acanthopanacis senticosus, Rehmannia glutinosa, Disocorea japonica, and Poria cocos Wolf were used in the ratio of 2, 1, 1, and 1, respectively. The optimum processing condition for herbal chicken porridge was determined by a design expert program. Seventeen experimental points were selected, and herb extracts (82∼101g), chicken breast meat (30∼50g), and glutinous rice (40∼60g) were chosen as the independent variables. The measured responses were preference of taste, DPPH radical scavenging, SOD-like activity, and cost. The optimum formulation of herbal chicken porridge using the numerical analysis was set at herbal extracts (101g), chicken breast meat (38.66g), and glutinous rice (41.34g) with a 0.714 desirability value. DPPH radical scavenging effect, preference of taste and the cost showed a linear model, whereas SOD-like activity showed a quadratic model indicating a higher interaction among the mixture. As a result of proximate composition of optimized herbal chicken porridge, the contents of moisture, carbohydrate, crude protein, crude lipid, and ash contents were 76.4, 9.0, 1.4, 0.5, and 1.6%, the calories of the porridge was 46.1kcal/100g.

        십이경근(十二經筋)과 근육(筋肉)과의 관계(關係)에 대한 연구

        The Oriental Medicine is described with so many terms of its own theory causing misunderstand of the concept which is expressed with same term used in modern medicine. Muscular system is also used in the both medicines, the Oriental Medicine and modern medicine. For the purpose of resolving the misunderstand of using the medical terms, we referred to a large number of literature for the muscular system in both medicine. Although there are few references concerning about systematic components in the Oriental Medicine, among the concepts of the Oriental Medicine, there are comparatively many approaches to the Meridian muscular system, a muscular system related with the Meridian, Therefore, there are many similarities and differences in the interrelation between the muscular system which was stated at the time of the concept of the Meridian system was developed and anatomical muscular system in the modern medicine. As a result of survey the references, we found out that anatomical muscular system is limited to visual compartments, whereas the Meridian muscular system is covering not only visual components but also the relation with internal organs. We conclude that there are conceptual differences in the kyung-keun system in the past and anatomical muscular system in the present.

        정신분열병환자의 뇌량에 대한 신경병리적 고찰 : 확산텐서영상(Diffusion Tensor Image)기법의 적용

        Objectives : Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a new technique that can be used to visualize and measure the diffusion of water in brain tissue. It is particularly useful for evaluating white matter abnormalities. In this paper, we investigated the neuropathology of the corpus callosum in patients with schizophrenia through the new methods, diffusion tensor imaging. Methods : Diffuse tensor imaging was performed in 19 schizophrenic patients and 26 healthy controls. One complementary measure, fractional anisotropy (FA), which is considered to be sensitive indices of axonal integrity, was obtained from regions of interest in the five areas of the corpus callosum. Neuropsychological measurement also underwent for measurement of frontal lobe function in two groups. Results : There were no significant differences of FA in the DTI measures for either the schizophrenic patients compared with controls. FA was significantly decreased in women compared with men. Neuropsychological measurements such as Wisconsin card sorting test were correlated with FA of patients with schizophrenia. Conclusion : FA measures revealed no differences between schizophrenia and controls. The findings suggest that the structural integrity of white matter in patient with schizophrenia was not disrupted. The results are discussed in relation to previous studies reporting positive and negative findings. It is concluded that further studies using DTI in larger samples, improved and standardized methods of data acquisition and analysis are needed.
