Individual identification is an important part in medicolegal field especially in mass disaster. At July, 27, 1989, KAL KE-803 was crashed on landing at Tripoli International Airport, Liba. The plane was caught in fire and sixty eight Koreans were sacrified. The majority of victims were severely charred and injured. The authors examed all dead bodies and successfully identified all the cases through visual, anthropological, odontological, radiological and pathological methods including fingerprint and blood typing.
Photoluminescence과 Conductance 측정을 이용한 자외선 조사된 Ge첨가 다성분계 산화물 유리의 구조변화 관찰

Ge-doped multicomponent oxide glasses were prepared by a conventional melting method. The structural change around Ge ions was investigated by using PL(photoluminescence) and conductance(G). After UV irrdiation, the PL intensity decreased and the change were maintained at room temperature, but a photodarkened glass recovered near its original properties when it was heat-treated at 500℃ for several hours. The conductance of the irradiated sample decreased because the disorder in structure was happened by UV irradiation. These results can be explained a structural change were occurred at bonding structure between Ge ions and glass components.
위장관을 침범한 Henoch-Sch o¨nlein purpura 1예

Henoch-Scho¨nlein purpura(H-S purpura) is a systemic necrotizing vasculitis of small vessels that is characterized by nonthrombocytopenic palpable purpura on the buttocks and extremities, arthritis of knees and ankles, glomerulonephritis, and colicky abdominal pain, histologically characterized by leukocytoclastic vasculitis. Gastrointestinal involvement with colicky abdominal pain and GI bleeding, most frequently in jejunum and ileum, occurs in above a half of all patients, but common in children. We performed GI endoscopy in a case of H-S Purpura. Gastroduodenoscopic findings showed erythemas and erosions in gastric antrum, and mucosal edema and petechiae in duodenal 2nd portion. Colonoscopic findings showed 5-10㎜ sized multiple shallow hemorrhagic ulcers in transverse and descending colons We report a case of H-S purpura involving colon with literatural review.

Micro gas-flow sensor is fabricated using a microfabrication technology and micromachining techniques. An NON insulated film with low thermal conductivity and low internal stress is deposited by using LPCVD and APCVD process. As the micromachining technology, characteristics of silicon wet anisotropic etching are investigated. Experimental variations for (100) etch rate observation are following ; (1) TMAH concentrations in water (3∼25wt.%), (2) etch temperatures (80∼90℃). The etch rates for (100) silicon increases with increasing etch temperature and with decreasing TMAH wt.% concentration. Platinum thin films are deposited on the NON film by rf sputtering and lift-off method. Micro gas-flow sensor combined with platinum film heater and temperature detector is fabricated. And its operational characteristics are measured in the range of 0∼500sccm of nitrogen gas flow-rate. The gas-flow sensor have been shown a good linear relationship between the oxygen content in helium and the resistance of temperature detector within 0 to 18mol% of the oxygen contents. with the constant total flow-rate of 225sccm.
膵臟 組織내 Protein Methylase I 酵素의 精製

An enzyme which methylates the guanido group of arginine residues of protein using S-adenosyl-L-methionine as methyl donor has been designated as protein methylase I. Among the enzyme products of this reaction which thus far have been identified are N^G-mono, N^G,N^c-di-, and N^G, N'^G- dimethylarginine. This enzyme is widely distributed in various organs of rat, being especially rich in pancreas of hog. The level of protein methylase I activity was found to closely parallel the rate of cell proliferation. Elevated activity was observed in fetal tissues, continuously dividing HeLa S-3 cell culture, regenerating adult rat liver, and in fast growing Novikoff hepatoma. Protein merhylase I has been purified from calf brain, rat and calf thymus, Krebs II ascites cells and recently a form of protein merhylase I has also been purified from wheat germ, which is the first report of the enzyme being present in the plant kingdom. In the present paper, protein methylase I has been partially purified from hog pancreatic tissue. 1) Protein methylase I has been partially purified about 14-fold from hog pancreatic tissue with 25% yield. 2) Mainly the enzyme was found in cytosolic fraction of pancreatic cells. 3) Main purification steps were homogenation of the tissue, S_3 fraction of cells, 35% ammonium sulfate ppt., and DIEM-cellulose chromatography.

There are many potential dangers around our life, but we are laking in the consciousness of safety because accidents do no happen frequently. If an accidents occurs, an ability to deal with it is so weak that it can be enlarges to a disaster. Therefore it is important to accustom ourselves to manage dangers and this can be realized by traing. In this study, the traditional traing methodologies are compared and analyszed in order to find an efficient traing way for the public. Also, we propose a traing method by using UCC(User Created Contest) which is a growing communication and content tool in the Internet environment nowadays.
추적조사를 중심으로 한 腰椎間板脫出症에 대한 蜈蚣藥鍼의 臨床的 硏究

Objective : This study is performed for the purpose of examining the efficacy of the scolopendrid(Scolopendra morsitans L) which has been to low back pain as a folk remedy. Methods & Results : Seventy patints with H.I.V.D. treated with the scolopendrid aquacupuncture and examined 4 tests; D.I.T.I., physical test, Oswestry disability index, and self-conscious pain rate were studied. And we follow up after discharge, we evaluated the present state and recovery period. Or we evaluated by herniated type and duration of onset. There was 58~97% of efficacy rate in each tests. Moreover, statistically valuable change in all 7D.I.T.I. points and in disability index and in self-conscious pain rate was showed. Conclusion : The scolopendrid aquacupuncture is possible to be effective terating the H.I.V.D patients. so we suggest the possibility using this new remedy to the H.I.V.D. patients.
황해 동남 해역의 수괴지표성 요각류 및 모악류의 분포와 수괴특성

Distribution of indicator species of copepods and chaetognaths were studied as an indicator species of water mass in the southeastern area of the Yellow Sea. Undinula darwini, Lucicutia flavicornis, Pleuromamma gracilis, Euchaeta resselli, Euchaeta plana and Sagitta enflata were found to be reliable indicator species for determining warm water mass. Of these species, E. plana and E. russelli have a weak tolerance on the low temperature. Sagitta crassa was indicator species of neritic waters: Sagitta bedoti was that of mixing waters. Centropages agdominalis represented neritic cold waters. In February U. darwini, L. flavicornis, P. gracilis, E. russelli, E. plana and S. enflata occurred in the western waters of Cheju-Do where warm waters over 14℃ occupied. Centropages abdominalis occurred in the northern area beyond Chindo with water temperature less than 10℃. E. plana, E. russelli and S. bedoti were found at the regions between Cheju-Do and Chindo where the water temperature was 12∼14℃ corresponding to the mixing waters. Based on cluster analysis and T-S diagram in February three different water masses were identified from the south to the north. In August, water masses were analyzed at two different layers, 0∼20m and 20m∼bottom layers, separated by thermocline depth. In 0∼20m layer, E plana and E. russelli were found from the western waters of Cheju-Do to Daehuksando. In 20m∼bottom layer, E. russelli and E. plana occurred at the northwestern waters of Cheju-Do with the water temperature warmer than 12℃. C. abdominalis was found at the northern area beyond Chindo. Based on the cluster analysis and T-S diagram in August three different water masses at 0∼20m and 20m∼bottom layers were identified from the coast to the offshore. C. abdominalis was found at the adjacent water of Chindo at 0∼20m layer and the northern area beyond Chindo at 20m∼bottom layer. This fact suggested that the cold water mass existed at the adjacent waters of Chindo in summer.
