Feeding habits of Favonigobius gymnauchen collected from the eelgrass bed in Kwangyang Bay from January 1994 to December 1994 were studied. Favonigobius gymnauchen was a carnivore which consumed mainly gammarid amphipods, polychaetes, crabs and copepods. Its diets included minor Quantities of gastropods, tanaids and isopods. It showed ontogenetic changes in feeding habits. Small individuals (1$\~$2 cm) fed mainly on gammarid amphipods, polychaetes, and copepods. While the portion of the stomach contents attributable to polychaetes and crabs increased steadily with incensing fish size, consumption of copepods decreased progressively. Gammarid amphipods were the most selected prey item for all size classes. Although gammarid amphipods, polychaetes, crabs and copepods were major prey organisms for all seasons, the relative proportion of these food items changed with season. Consumption of copepods was relatively high in spring and fall and consumption of gammarid amphipods, polychaetes and crabs was relatively high in summer.

The seasonal distribution and abundance of larval fishes in the central and southern surface waters of the East Sea were investigated seasonally during 2011 and 2012. During the study period, the larvae of 39 species belonging to 26families were collected. The most abundant species were Engraulisjaponicus, which accounted for 97.5% of the total number of individuals collected. Scomber japonicus, Clupea pallasii, Chromis notatus, Cottidae sp., and Coryphaena hippurus accounted for 1.7% of the total. The number of species, number of individuals, and species diversity indices fluctuated with the season. The peak number of species and individuals occurred in September and May, respectively. The larvae of the main species displayed a distinct spatial distribution and seasonal occurrence patterns. E. japonicus and C. notatus widely distributed throughout the study area. During summer and autumn, S. japonicus and C. hippurus were abundant in southern and offshore regions. C. pallasii occurred only in the southern region during winter. The seasonal occurrence and patterns of distribution of the larvae of main species seems were correlated with surface water temperature.

Seasonal variation of the crab community in the eelgrass (Zostera marina) bed in Kwangyang Bay was studied based on the monthly collections through a year of 1994. The crab community in the eelgrass bed was composed of 21 species representing 12 families. The community was dominated by Charybdis Japonica, Telmessus acutidens, Hemigrapsus penicillatus, and Pugettia quadridens. Crabs collected in the study area were primarily small-sized species or early juveniles of large crab species. Most individuals had carapace width smaller than 25 mm except C. japonica and T. acutidens which had maximum carapace width over 85 mm. More than 5 species were collected every month except January and February (4 and 3 species, respectively). The peak abundance occurred in August and low abundances in autumn and winter. Species diversity indices showed that more diverse crabs were collected In spring and summer, and lesser ones in autumn and winter. The crabs in the study area can be grouped into three groups on the basis of their occurrence patterns: resident species, seasonal species, and temporary species. More abundant and more diverse crabs were collected during nighttime than daytime.

Seasonal variation of a shrimp community in the eelgrass (Zostera marina) bed in Kwangyang Bay, Korea was studied based on the monthly collected samples through a year of 1994. The shrimp community in the eelgrassbed was composed of 26 species of shrimps representing 6 families. The community was dominated by Heptacarpus pandaloides, Crangon affinis, Eualus leptognathus, Latreutes acicularis, Heptacarpus rectirostris, Heptacarpus geniculatus, and Latreutes laminirostris. Most of species were the small-sized species with carapace length smaller than 25 mm. The peak abundance occurred in the late winter and spring and low abundances in autumn. More than 10 species were collected every month except lull (8 species). Species diversity indices showed that the shrimp species were more diverse during the late summer, and lesser during the late autumn. Predominance of Crangon affinis in the late autumn caused such a low diversity. The shrimps in the study area could be grouped into three groups on the basis of their occurrence patterns: resident species, seasonal species, and temporary species. More abundant and more diverse shrimps were collected during nighttime than daytime.

The seasonal and interannual variation in the species composition and abundance of the decapod assemblage (shrimps, crabs, and hermit crabs) collected using pots in the coastal waters off Gori were studied between 2005 and 2008. During the study period, 49 decapod species belonging to 19 families were collected. The dominant species were Crangon hakodatei, Pandalus gracilis, Carcinoplax longimana, Charybdis bimaculata, Carcinoplax vestita, Diogenes edwardsii, and Dardanus arrosor. These seven species accounted for 95.46% of the total number of individuals collected. The number of species, number of individuals, biomass, and species diversity indices fluctuated with the seasons. The peak number and biomass of individuals occurred in July 2006. The number and biomass of individuals were higher in summer and lower in winter, and the diversity indices were lower in summer than in the other seasons. The abundance of dominant species showed some seasonal and interannual change; in particular, those of C. hakodatei and P. gracilis corresponded with the bottom water temperature.

The feeding habits of olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus were studied using 126 specimens collected from coastal waters off Taean, Korea from April 2008 to March 2009. The total lengths of P. olivaceus ranged from 16.7 to 40.6 cm. P. olivaceus was a piscivore that consumed mainly fishes. The diet also included small quantities of shrimps, cephalopods, polychaetes and mysids. Although, P. olivaceus mainly consumed fishes of all size classes, some degree of change in diet composition was found; i.e. after fishes, smaller individuals fed more on shrimps, whereas larger individuals consumed more cephalopods.
