Study of decreased melanin production through p53 by heme oxygenase-1 inhibitor in normal human melanocytes

Background: Heme oxygenase (HO)-1 is induced by oxidative stress and plays important roles in anti-apoptosis and the rapid growth of several solid tumors. p53 has a central role in skin pigmentation and may impact onmelanoma at all stages. However, there has been little study of HO-1 in relation with p53 on melanin production Objectives: To know the effect of HO-1 on melanogenesis through p53 in normal human melanocytes Methods: Human melanocytes (hM) were primarily cultured from foreskin. After incubation, cells were rinsed twice with PBS then transfection with p53 siRNA Results: Melanin content was detected with ELISA and Western blot analysis and RT-PCR of tyrosinase, MITF were performed after ZnPP treatment and p53 transfection. After ZnPP treatment, melanin content was decreased, and tyrosinase and MITF protein levels were decreased. Tyrosinase and MITF mRNA levels were also decreased. However, melanin content and tyrosinase and MITF protein levels were increased after CoPP treatment. After p53 transfection, HO-1 expression was decreased when HO-1 stimulator was treated. In addition, melanin content was decreased, and tyrosinase expression was decreased in Western blot analysis Conclusion: These results suggest that melanogenesis is inhibited by ZnPP by decreased melanin production, tyrosinase and MITF protein and mRNA levels. Furthermore, those inhibitory effects of ZnPP may be dependent on p53 in normal human melanocytes. Therefore, HO-1 may play an important role in melanogensis

현행 중학교 과학 실험·실습교육에 대한 교사들의 견해와 개선방안

The status of facilities, management of the experiment, practices, and Science education teaching method in middle school have been investigated. The present status and reasonable management of middle school science education have been grasped from the questionaires. The results are as follows : The reasonable management for expeiments and practices of science education were scanty in the middle school around the urban and rural schools owing to the shortage of facilities and equipments, crowded class, excessive classes, work for teachers, excessive contents of present textbook and insufficience of administrative support etc. The current teaching method of middle school science has emphasized knowledge. This fact does not satisfy the objective of learning due to lack of teaching method. Desirable directions for the improvement of present status of middle school science education were proposed in this paper.

The purpose of this study was carried out an epidemiological survey on the prevalence rate of the canine heartworms in Seoul City and the districts of Pa-Ju, Seong-Nam and Po-Chon in Kyonggi province of Korea from September 1994 to the end of September 1995. The blood samples from 292 male and 193 female dogs (pet, 363 ; fighting dogs, 60 ; working dogs, 62) were examined for the adult heartworms cuticle antibodies using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELSA) kits. The test was designed to detect the antibodies of the host against the specific cuticle antigens produced with the adult heartworms.

본 연구는 96년도에 실시한 우리 나라 중학교 과학 실험·실습 교육의 실태 조사 연구에 따른 계속 연구의 일환으로 고등학교 과학 실험·실습 교육의 실태를 조사하기 위한 것이다. 연구내용은 고등학교 과학 교과서의 분석, 실험·실습 실시 현황 분석, 현행 실험·실습 교육의 문제점 분석, 현행 학교 구성원들의 실험·실습 교육 운영 실태 조사 및 현행 실험·실습 교육의 개선을 위한 연구과제 도출을 주요 연구내용으로 다루었다. 연구방법은 전국의 고등학교 80개교를 대상으로 이들 학교의 학생 1,977명, 교사 165명, 학교장 80명에게 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 결과를 중심으로 우리 나라 고등학교 과학 실험 실습 교육의 정상화를 위한 실험 내적인 연구과제를 제시하면 다음과 같다. (1)교재 개발에 대한 연구, (2)실험 킷트 개발에 대한 연구, (3)교사교육 및 재교육 프로그램 개발에 대한 연구, (4)교실 밖 실험·실습 활동 프로그램 개발에 대한 연구, (5)과학 실험·실습 소재의 개발에 대한 연구. To do this 165 high school science teachers, 1977 students and 80 principals of high schools in Korea are administered questionaires of Science Education Research Institute of Kyungpook National University(1997). 서울의 Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae 발생빈도(1998)

In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

고등학교 지구과학 실험·실습 요목 비교 분석

The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of the experimental and practical education in high school earth. The present status and reasonable management of the experimental and practical education in high school earth science have been grasped from the questionaires. To do this, eighty eight earth science teachers in Korea are administered questionaires. The frequency of the experimental and practical items in the seven kind of earth science text books were investigated. The problems and the reasonable management for experimental and practical education were proposed in this paper.

有機農業의 實態와 發展에 관한 事例 硏究 : 忠南 洪城郡 洪東面 有機農家를 中心으로

This study was carried out to improve the organic farming system about crop cultivation, compost production and application, plant diseases & pest control, weed control and marketing system of organic farming products to the case study in Chungnam Hongdong area. Agricultural technologies concerning pest & diseases control, weed control and compost production are not established due to lacks of systemized researches by the agricultural scientist, and agricultural machines profitable to this works had not developed yet. In cropping system, reasonable crop rotation had not conducted. The related cultivation of vegetables on the same ground for a long time cause a various plant disease easily. So crop rotation is a reasonable method about soil nutrient utility and soil disease control. It is a good method that introduce the barley and wheat in this field crop system. Those crop have a long root, so can use the other nutrient against the vegetable. In organic farming products, the safety and quality of products by the National Agricultural Products Inspection Center had not inspected except rice, lettus and apple. Inspection is needed for the development of organic farming and mutual confidence between producer and consumer, because the mutual confidence is a major thing to sustain the organic farming. In products marketing, it is more need for the information of organic farming products. Nowaday most products are marketed in Seoul region, but it is not a good method. To search the consumer in near region is a good method for decrease the cost of conveyance and maintain the quality of products. The varieties of distribution structure of organic farming products are required. The products are sold to department store in large city and the prices are about 30% higher than normal products. But when those are supplied in near region, the prices of those are similar to normal products. Direct transactions in near regions is a good method for decrease the cost of conveyance and strength the mutual confidence between producer and consumer.

To detemine seasonal fluctuations in abundance and speices composition, polychaete samples were collected by Van Veen grab form March to November 2003 in Kangjin Bay. A total of 25,119.3 ind./㎡ polycaete were sampled and identified into 48 species. 25 families and 10 orders. Of the 10 orders. Phllodocida, Spionida, Eunicida and Sabellida accounted for approximately 79.9% of the polychaete fauna in this area. Phyllodocida, Nereidae, Nephtyidae ans Spionidae were dominant representing every moment 4 species. Of 48 species identified Neanthes japonica, Prionospio pinnate, Cirratulus cirratus and Palola siciliensis for 54.0% individuals collected. Season succession of dominant species was evident in study area: Neanthes japonica, Prionospio pinnata. Cirratulus cirratus. Nephtys oligobranchia in March, Neanthes japonica, Lumbrineris japonica. Cirratulus cirratus, Prionospio pinnata in May, Ncanthes japonica, Cirratulus cirratus, Lumbrineris nippnica. Lumbrineris japonica in August and Neanthes japonica, Prionospio pinnata, Laonice cirrata, Palola siciliensis in November, respectively. The diversity index was the highest value in March(H'=3.0059) and the lowest value in May(H'=2.7305). The eveness index was the highest in August(J=0.9184) and lowest in May(J=0.8524). The dominance index was the highest in May(D=0.3843) and the lowest in March(D=0.2275).

정맥 유리 피판술을 이용한 수부 손상 재건술

In cases of severe crushing finger injury, skin defect with vascular loss was result in bone, tendon and joint exposures. In patients with certain cases, conventional treatments were vein graft, local flap and disrant flap. Exoposed vein grafred blood vesels were not suitable for graft because of high risk of thrombosis, tissue necrosis and skin graft will not survive on deep structure and local flap may be technically impossible at extensive finger damage. Furthermore distant flap was inappropriate due to postoperative immobilization bulkiness of grafted skin and many times of operations. Therefore in the cases of exposed deep structure, it has been studied about skin flap including subcutaneous vein for a long time. In 1984, Honda et al dad attempte das clinical application and in 1985, Nichtter and Harris et al reported three types of venous flap: 1) total venous perfusion flap 2) arterialized venous perfusion flap 3) total arterial venous perfusion flap. These venous free flaps(skin flaps with subcutaneous veins, flow through venous flap have advantage that can be done without bone shortening as one procedure. And authors did 13 cases of venous flaps, especially 3) and complete survival were 11 cases, partial necrosis were 2 cases.
