        Objectives: For the purpose of preparing the fundamental data and assessing the status of exposure level of chemical substances in painting process. Methods and Materials: The author determined the concentration of organic solvents, lead(Pb), Chromium(Cr), and Toluene-2, 4-diisocyanate(TDI) in air of painting process to 90 industries classified by 15 types of manufacturing industry during a period from Jan. 1st 2001 to Dec. 31st 2001. Results: The results were as follows: 1. The geometric mean level of each chemical substance was 0.1706 ppm for exposure index in organic solvents, 0.0019㎎/㎥ for Pb, 0.0024 ㎎/㎥ for Cr, and 0.0004ppm for TDI, respectively. 2. The exposure level of each chemical substances by type of painting was the highest in dipping and brush painting for organic solvent, in spray-painting for TDI, and in spray gun-painting for Pb and Cr, respectively. 3. The exposure level of each chemical substances by type of local ventilation equipment was higher in enclosed and booth type for organic solvents. Cr, and TDI, and in exterior type for Pb, respectively than those of other types. 4. The exposure level of each chemical substances by type of hazardous material arresting media was higher in using water for organic substances, in using bag filter for Pb, TDI, respectively than those of other types. Conclusion: According to above results, this study suggests that the exposure level by type of industry exceeded the exposure level in wooden furniture and metal furniture manufacturing industry for organic solvents and Pb, respectively.

      • 부산지역 강하먼지 중 불용성 중금속 함유량

        ■ Objectives The purpose of this study was to estimate qualitatively various bulk deposition flux of insoluble heavy metal components by applying regional and seasonal distribution. our institution from January 1980 to December 31th, 2001. ■ Materials and Methods Dustfall particles were collected by the modified American dust jar (wide inlet bottle type) at 6 sampling sites in Pusan area from March, 1999 to February, 2000. Five chemical species (Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni and Pb) were analyzed by AAS(Perkin-Elmer 4100ZL). ■ Results The mean values of each heavy metal concentrations were Cd for 3.947 g/㎢/month, Cr for 0.191 ㎏/㎢/month, Mn for 0.375 ㎏/㎢/month, Ni for 0.176 ㎏/㎢/month, and Pb for 0.823 ㎏/㎢/month. ■ Conclusions Insoluble heavy metal amount of regional variations were found in order of industrial zone, coastal zone, commercial zone, agricultural zone and residential zone.

        Even though there are many analysis methods of circular tanks on elastic foundation, the finite element method requires a number of memory spaces computation time to solve large stiffness equations, In this study many the simplified methods are applied to analyze a cone-cylinder tank on elastic foundation. By the given analysis methods, direct stiffness method and foundation matrix method, the con-cylinder tank was transformed into the skeletonized frame structure. The frame structure was drivided into several finite elements. The stiffness matrix of a finite element is related with the transfer matrix of the element. Thus, the transfer matrix of each finite element utilized the transfer matrix method to simplify the analysis of the tank. There were no significant difference in the results of two methods, the finite element method and the transfer matrix method. The transfer matrix method applied to a circular tank on elastic foundation resulted in four simultaneous equations to solve completely

      • 백혈병 세포주에 대한 (±)-ar-Turmerone, 자근 및 황금추출물에 의한 항암제의 세포독성 증강효과

        Using the colorimetric [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide](MTT)assay, we evaluated the chemosensitivity of 8 anticancer drugs{vincristine(VCR), vinblastine(VBL), adriamycin(ADR), cisplatin(CPDD), etoposide(VP-16), cytosine arabinoside(ara-C), bleomycin(Bleo) and cyclophosphamide(CYC)} and the cytotoxicity-enhancing effects of (±)-ar-turmerone and the extracts of the crude drugs {Lithospermum erythrorhizon(LE) and Scutellaria baicalensis(SB)}on the above mentioned anticancer drugs against HL-60 and KG-1 cells among 8 anticancer drugs, VCR, VBL, ADR, and CPDD inhibited the growth of both cell lines by more than 50% while VP-16, ara-C, Bleo, and CYC were less effective. (±)-ar-Turmerone had significant inhibitory effects against both cell lines, showing the ID_50 values of 11.730 ㎍/㎖ and 0.292 ㎍/㎖ for HL-60 and KG-1 cells. respectively. But the extracts of LE and SB roots showed no significant cytotoxic effects. According to ID_50 values, the cytotoxicities of VCR, VBL and ADR against HL-60 were enhanced two, eight and three times by mixing (±)-ar-turmerone, five, seven and three times by adding the extract of LE root, and twenty, six and three times by mixing the extract of SB root, respectively. The cytotoxicities of the above mentioned drugs against KG-1 cell were enhanced two, seven and three times by mixing (±)-ar-turmerone, two, three and three times by conbining wilth the extract of LB root, and two, five and two times by adding the extract of SB root, respectively. The cytotoxicity-potentiating effects of (±)-ar-turmerone and the extracts of LE and SB roots against HL-60 cell were greater than KG-1 cell.

        Try to find a scheme for activation to College Physical Education, this Report informs the various kinds of Survey and process those were projected for improvement of management methods on Cultural Physical Education in Kang Weon National University. From experimentally carried out "Sports events Choosing System" not as usual be inforced "Total practical Skill System", Following Positive effects and sujestions were Presented; 1. "Sports events choosing system" gave birth to more students' interesting and more voluntary participation to the sports events they chose, and sports skill and instruction level was elevated due to charge of expert according to each sports events. This system would be managed continuously hereafter for it related to life sports. 2. This System needs to closed cooperations between College and Community, for the facilities of community are utilized by college. 3. To complete the plan for activation of college Physical Education, additionally, the successional study ; namely "autonomous extracurricular sports activity" should be excuted hereafter.

      • 抗癌丹을 投與한 大腸癌 患者 83例에 대한 臨床報告

        Climical studies were carried out 83 cases of patients with colorectal cancer treated bv Hangamdan(抗癌丹) from January lth 1998 to September 30th 2000. The results were summarized as follows; 1. Distribution of those attached by colorectal cancer, by sex, showed that Male is more then Female, by age, showed that the numbber of fifties is majorith. 2. distribution of diagnostic stage, in descending order; stage Ⅲ(53%, top), stagew Ⅵ(45.8%). 3. The effects of maintenance and improvement in the symptoms with traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) and combined treatment of westem and oriental therapy(92.1%)were boserved. The effects of the symptoms were as folows: diarrhea(37.3%),abdominal pain (25.3%), general body weakness(22.9%), nausea(20.5%) and etc. in orders. 4. Analysis of hematology attached by colorectal cancer, maintenance and increasing of WBC(89.9%), RBC(74.7%), Hgb(81.1%), Platelet(92.4%) were Observed. After taken Hangamdan, the satety of the liver and kidney were as follows; maintenance and decreasting of AST(85.9%), ALT(94.8%) , GTP(87.5%), Creatinine(90.9%) were observed. 5. of IL-12 and IFN-λ attached by colorectal cancer, increasing of IL-12(53.3%), IFN-λ(80%) were observedl. 6. Analysis of QOL attached by colorectal cancer, maintenance and improvement of combined treatment of western and oniental therapy(89.6%), traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) were observed. 7. Analysis of survival in patients with Ⅳ stage of colorectal cancer, above 7 months(18.4%), 12 months(65.8%). 8. Analysis of antitumor effects, maintenance of traditional oriental therapy(83.3%) and maintenance and improvement of combined treatment of western and oriental therapy(80.5%) were observed. Analysis of tumor marker attached by colorectal cancer, maintenance and decreasing of CEA(78.8%) were boserved 9. Analysis of curative valuation, maintenance and improvement of traditional oriental therapy(83.3%), combined treatment of westem and oriental therapy(72.7%) were observed.

      • 백혈병 세포중 대한(±)-ar-Turmerone, 자근 및 황금추출물에 의한 항암제의 세포독성 증강효과

The cytotoxicity-potentiating effects of (±)-ar-turmerone and the extracts of LE and SB roots against HL-60 cell were greater than KG-1 cell.

        백서의 우울모형에서의 칼슘통로 길항제 에타베린(Ethaverine)의 항우울효과

        연구목적: 본 전임상연구에서는 우울증의 두가지 동물모형을 통해 에타베린이 단독 혹은 이미프라민과 병용처치 되었을 때의 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 표준화된 검사법인 강제수영검사를 사용하여 옹성백서에게 에타베린(20mg/kg) 및 이미프라민 (20mg/kg)을 단독 혹은 병용 처치하였을 때의 부동시간의 변화를 관찰하였고, 경도의 만성 스트레스를 3주간 가한 후 4주간 에타베린과 이미프라민을 단독 혹은 병용 처치하였을때의 자당섭취량의 변화를 관찰하였다. 결과: 약물을 1회 단기처치 및 7일간 장기처치한 강제수영검사에서 이미프라민 및 에타베린 단독처치는 대조군에 비하여 부동시간의 단축을 보였고 에타베린은 이미프라민의 부동시간 감소에 대한 증강작용을보였다. 경도의 만성스트레스 실험에서도 3주간의 스트레스로 인하여 감소된 백서의 자당섭취량을 이미 프라민 및 에타베린이 회복시켰으며, 치료초기에 두 약물의 병용처치효과가 두드러졌다. 결론: 본 연구의 결과는 에타베린이 향우울 효과를 가지고 있음을 시사하며, 삼환계 항우울제인 이미프라민의 항우울효과를 증강시키므로 에타베린의 임상적 활용 가능성을 보여준다. Objectives: This pre-clinical study was performed to assess the effects of ethaverine in the two kinds of behavioral models of depression in rats. Methods: We observed the changes of the immobility time in the froced swimming test and the quantity of sucrose consumed in the chronic mild stress model, using ethaverine(20mg/kg) alone, imipramine(20mg/kg) alone, or ethaverine and imipramine concomitantly. Results: In the forced swimming test, both single treatment and chronic treatment(for 7days) with imipramine or ethaverine significantly reduced the immobility time, and concomitant chronic treatment with ethaverine potentiated the effect of imipramine. In the chronic mild stress model, both imipramine and ethaverine reversed the decreased sucrose consumption induced by 3-week stress and concomitantly treated ethaverine potentiated the effect of imi-pramine in the early phase of treatment. Conclusions: The data suggest that ethaverine can be used alone or concomitantly with other antidepressants in the clinical situation.

        고정상세포분리기의 개발 및 Cyclosporin A 생산을 위한 고정화 연속배양공정에의 적용

        균사형성 미생물인 고정상곰팡이의 연속배양공정에 필수적인 효율적인 고정상세포분리기를 개발하고 이를 실제로 면역억제제인 cyclosporin A(CyA) 연속생산공정에 적용하였다. 점성이 큰 고분자인 carboxymethyl cellulose 용액을 이용한 실험에서 개발된 고정상 세포분리기는 분리능이 우수하여 고점도·고유속의 경우에도 고정성담체가 거의 유실되지 않았다. 이는 고정상세포분리기내에 설치된 공기유출관과 분리관의 역할에 기인하는 것으로 보인다. 또한 실제 곰팡이 세포를 이용한 고정상 연속배양(IPRS)의 경우 고정상세포분리기를 설치함으로써 담체밀도의 감소와 배양액내의 고농도(10g/l) 현탁 곰팡이 세포의 존재에도 불구하고 안정한 조업가능성을 보였다. 고정상 연속배양의 높은 희석속도에도 불구하고 균체 및 CyA의 생산성이 높게 나타났으며, 담체가 반응기 밖으로 거의 유출되지 않은 점으로 보아 고정상세포분리기의 우수한 성능 및 조업안정성을 확인할 수 있었다. We have developed an efficient immobilized cell separator for continuous operation of immobilized fungal cell cultures, and applied this separator to actual fermentation process for the production of cyclosporin A (CyA), a powerful immunosuppressant. In the experiments employing highly viscous polymer (carboxymethyl cellulose) solution, the decantor showed good separating performances at high solution viscosites and fast dilution rates. Air duct and cylindrical separator installed inside the decantor turned out to play key roles for the efficient separation of the immobilized cells. By installing the decantor in an immobilized perfusion reactor system (IPRS), continuous immobilized culture was stably carried out even at high dilution rate for a long period, leading to high productivities of free cells and CyA. Almost no immobilized biomass existed in effuluent stream of the IPRS, demonstrating the effectiveness of the decantor system for a long-term continuous fermentation. It was noteworthy that we could obtain these results despite of the unfavorable fermentation conditions, i.e., reduced density of the biosupports caused by overgrowth of cells inside the bead particles and existence of high density of suspended fungal ells (10 g/l) in the fermentation broth.
