        백서에서 Depulpin®과 Formocresol에 대한 치수와 치근단 조직의 반응

        One fifth dilution of formocresol is usually for pulpotomy of the primary teeth and emergency pulpotomy of the permanent teeth. However, the use of formaldehyde has been subjected to criticism because it may be absorbed into the blood stream and become distributed systemically, it may also alter the pulp tissue rendering it immumologically active, and have carcinogenic potential. Recently Depulpin®(VoCo., Germany) gains popularity as a devitalizing agent during root canal therapy in spite of high concentration of 49% paraformaldehyde because it facilitate devitalization of pulp and make root canal therapy easier. But there have been not enough publications about the reaction of pulp and periapical tissue caused by Depulpin. This study was performed to evaluate the histological changes in pulp and periapical tissue of rats after pulpotomy using formocresol and Depulpin and to elucidate the toxic effects of these agents. Thirty six Sprague-Dawley rats were anesthetized by intraperitoneal injection of ketamine. Maxillary first molar teeth were used for pulpotomy with formocresol and Depulpin. Rats were sacrificed after 2 days, 4 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks and 4 weeks respectively. Specimens were histologically observed by light microscope changes in pulp and periapical tissue. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Formocresol group A zone of fixed tissue, in which odontoblasts could clearly be defined, was present directly underneath the pulpotomy dressing in almost all teeth of this group. This was followed by an area of necrotic tissue which resembled dried out fibrous tissue with no cellular detail except some pyknotic nuclei. In the specimens of after 2 days, 4 days, 1 week, 2 weeks in which vital tissue was present. it was separated from the fibrous area by a zone of inflammation. In the specimens of after 3 weeks and after 4 weeks, inflammatory infiltrate was in the periodontal ligament adjacent to the apical foramina of the teeth. 2. Depulpin® group The area of necrotic tissue which had no cells and fibers , was present adjacent to the dressing. This was followed by dried out fibrous tissue with no cellular details except some pyknotic nucleli. A short stump of vital pulp with odontoblasts was present at the end of the canal after 2 days. Inflammatory infiltrate was in the periodontal ligament after 4 days and after 1week. Severe root resorption and necrosis of periapical tissue opposite the root resorption site were defined after 2 weeks and after 3 weeks. Periapical lesion which consist of necrotic tissue surrounded by a fibrous connective wall. was found after 4 weeks. The results indicated that Depulpin can cause more adverse reaction to the dental pulp and periapical tissue than formocresol, and further studies are needed for its clinical use with safety.

      • SGCI 材料의 Casting 및 磨滅强度에 關한 硏究

        In order to collect the basic data for the production of nodular cast iron requiring wear resistance. the mechanical nature such as structure analysis, hardness, and tensile strength were performed on cast sample by changing residual Mg concentration of cast iron at the range of 0∼0.052% and also the wear characteristics were examined through wear test by changing abrasion speed and final load. As a result, the following conclusions were drawn. The wear amount rapidly accelerates to the maximum abrasion sped of 2.3m/sec in a sample without Fe-Si-Mg alloy processing(residual Mg amount; 0%) by increasing the abrasion speed from 1.3m/sec to 2.3m/sec. As the Mg residual Mg contents increases, the ratio of nodular increases while hardness of a sample accelerates and the wear amount decreases. The maximum point moved to the high speed side in a sample with 0.043% residual Mg contents and the wear amount showed the maximum in 3.5m/sec of abrasion speed while a sample with 0.052% residual Mg contents showed the mechanical destruction wear to 4.3m/sec abrasion speed. The more residual Mg contents are in 0.6-l.1m/sec low speed range of abrasion speed, the more wear amount was resulted while the less residual Mg contents were. the less wear amount showed. Oxidation wear occurs at 4.5m/sec of traveling velocity. Since the wear of matrix structure occurs after wear of oxidized substance in friction caused by oxidized substance, the wear amount shows less than 2.3mg/sec traveling velocity. Therefore, as the residual Mg contents increase, the wear amount decreases. Although the wear amount is large since the traveling distance of destruction wear lasts very long. the residual Mg contents are small and the oxidation wear area becomes long in a sample with low hardness. Since the mechanical destruction wear occurs when the traveling &stances reaches to the end, the wear amount results in very small. The scratches appeared due to abrasive wear in mechanical destruction wear with 2.3/sec abrasion speed while it did not show in oxidation wear although the severe wear occurred. The sectional melting appeared in 5.4m/sec of high speed friction since the temperature of contact point increased more than 1000℃. Scratches are less in the area with low load and if load increase, shoving occurs in wear grooves. In the maximum load, the severe cracking phenomenon can be observed.

      • 韓國産 植物凝集素 Celosia argentea L.의 凝集活性에 關한 硏究

        Extracts of ground seeds of the Korean Celosia argentea L. were prepared in the usual manner and agglutination with human red blood cells, agglutination titration, agglutination inhibition with human saliva and various sugar solutions, absorption with human red blood cells and agglutination with ficinated red blood cells were carried out. And demonstrated that the certain red blood cells were markedly agglutinated by Celasia extracts, while it was failed to agglutinate other red blood cells. Since such differences in reactivity were observed also among red cells of groups O, it was apparent that new blood factor being detected by the Celosia extracts, therefore, designated anti-Cea lectin Celosia, and the red cells which gace marked agglutination with anti-Cea lectin were Cea(+) type and failed to agglutinate were Cea(-) type. In the first wcperiment on a series of 732 blood specimens(310 of male donors, 173 of male trauma cases, 171 of puerperants and 78 of female trauma cases) observed that the frequency of Cea(+) type was 98% and Cea(-) type was 2%, and there were no differences in the distribution of Cea(+) and Cea(-) frequencies between male and female, and among ABO blood groups. In the second experiment on a series of 1,192 blood specimens of various pathological conditions observed that a high frequency of Cea(-) type was noted in red blood cells of the patients with gastric ulcer (13%, Z score=2.2064), duodenal ulcer(17%, Z score=3.4340) and stomach cancer (19%, Z score=2.7654). No appreciable differences were noted in the blood specimens of the patients with gastritis, enterocolitis, appendicitis, pancreatitis, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, diabetes, hypertension, leukemia, nephritis, typhoid fever and malignancy (without stomach cancer).

      • 十全大補湯加味方이 抗癌化學治療劑의 抗腫瘍效果 및 腫瘍細胞의 lysosomal enzymes에 미치는 影響

        十全大補湯加味方과 抗癌 化學療法劑인 mitomycin C의 倂用投與와 관련된 寶驗을 施行하여 아래와 같은 結論을 얻었다. 1. Ascites form of Ehrlich carcinoma에 十全大補湯加味方抽出物과 mitomycin을 倂用投與한 結果 十全大補湯加味方 抽出物에 의하여 mitomycin C의 抗腫瘍倂效果가 약간 增加하는 경향을 보였으며,마우스의 平均 生存期間도 增加하였다. 2. Solid form of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma에서 十全大補湯加味方 抽出物과 mitomycin C를 倂用投與한 結果 單獨投與時 보다 抗腫瘍效果가 더욱 뚜렷하여 腫瘍의 크기를 顯著하게 減少시켰다. 3. Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cell의 lysosomal enzymes의 총 活性度는 mitomycin C의 單獨投興時 보다 十全大補瘍加味方 抽出物의 投與時 顯著하게 蒸加하였으며,mitomycin C와 十숲大補瘍加味方 抽出物을 倂用投與한 경우에는 더욱 顯著하게 增加하였다. 4. 十全大補瘍加味方 抽出淚으로 前處理時 NK細胞의 標的細胞와의 結合能은 물론 結合된 標的細胞의 融解能도 促進되었다. 以上으로 보아 十全大補瘍加味方 抽出物이 자체로는 顯著한 抗腫瘍效果가 없다고 할지라도 腫瘍을 發生시킨 마우스의 生存率을 增加시키고,抗癌化學療法劑인 mitomycin C의 細胞毒性 및 NK細胞의 活性度를 亢進시키는 것으로 思料된다. Mainly side effects of antitumor chemotherapy are fatigue, G-I trouble(such as vomitting, nausea, diarrhea) and reduction of medullary function etc. Differentiated from syndromes in oriental medicine, above symptoms are recognized to "Deficiency of both ki(vital energy) and blood". And SDT(Sipjeondaebotang) has been widely used in "Deficiency of both ki(vital energy) and blood". SDTG(Sipjeondaebotanggamibang) consists of SDT plus several herb medicines-these have antitumor effect and reduce chemotherapheutic side effect. This experiment was undertaken to study the effects of SDTG on chemotheraphy. The results obtained in this study were as follows: 1. Antitumor activities of the ethanol extract from SDTG(Sipjeondaebotang -gamibang) and MMC(Mytomycin) on ascitis form of carcinoma in mice is a little improved. Especialy mean survival times of the group of SDTG(200mg/kg) and MMC(O.1mg/kg) is improved over 50%. 2. When SDTG and MMC is administrated together, the weight of tumor is more decreased than MMC alone. 3. 'The effect of the ethanol extract from SDTG and MMC on the lysosomal enzymes in Ehrich ascites carcinoma cell are more significantly improved than MMC alone. 4. SDTG extract increases both NKcell conjugation and cyto-lysis against target cell. According to the above results it is recognized that SDTG increases the chemotherapheutic effect of MMC and the activity of NKcell.

        The microbial activity of P3-luboklar FC,FC-A,FC-A(XT)DX and DXB was compared by DGHM Germ Carrier Test method. The following results were obtained. 1. FC,KB and KC has shown to be effective against all strains within 10 minutes. 2. FC-A was effective against E. coli, immediately, and kill could be achieved against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus within 4 minutes and 16 minutes, respectively. 3. DXB was effective against all strains within 10 minutes with the exeption of B. subtilis. 4. FC-A(XT) was the most effective against B. subtilis.

        This experiment is on a direct measuring system of sensor's transform voltage by using measuring computer which does not use data recorder of oscillo graph. The results obtained from the experiment are as follows: 1. Measuring data can be promptly acquired by A/D converting program and measuring computer program. 2. Separte recording and graphing are needless, for a graph and a data of measuring voltage are directly printed by a printer. 3. Simplification and miniature of measuring can be obtained through on-line measuring system by using measuring computer program. 4. Strain, bending moment, bending stress and load can be gained by using a leanear equation which is gained by relation of voltage versus strain.

      • 강선 이음형 PC 보-기둥 내부 접합부의 구조적 거동에 관한 실험적 연구

        In this study, new moment-resisting precast concrete beam-column joint is proposed for moderate seismic regions. it is attempt to devise connection detail which makes workability improve and confirm effective stress transfer in the region of connection. It has the connection details which help working process simplified and construction cost reduced. as replace 9.3㎜, 7strand for reinforcement. Fore specimens for partial tension test and three specimens for beam-column interior joint test were producted. An experimental study was carried out to investigate the joint behavior subjected to reverse cyclic loading and constant axial compressive load. The test variables was transverse reinforcement in joint. Structural performance of joint is evaluated on the basis of connection strength, stiffness, energy dissipation, and drift capacity. Based on the test results, the precast connection is capable of matching or exceeding the performance of the monolithic connection and thereby provides the sufficient moment-resisting behavior to be applicable for moderate seismic regions.

      • 간 세포암에서 VEGF, TGF-β1, b-FGF 발현의 의의

        Purpose: Angiogenesis is important for the proliferation and the metastasis of solid tumors. The growth of a solid tumor is widely recognized to depend on the process of neovascularrozation. Without angiogenesis, tumors cease to grow beyond even a few milimeters in diameter. It has been shown that tumor vascular density is an independent prognostic marker in several types of human tumors and is known to correlate with poor prognosis. To date, many angiogenic factors have been identified, such as transforming growth factor-α(TGF-α), transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β), fibroblast growth factor family(FGF), vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), platelet derived endothelial cell growth factor(PD-ECGF), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), and angiogenin. Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the second most common tumor in Korean males and is known as a typical hypervascular tumor with frequent portal vein invastion. The authors identified the expreesion of VEGF, TGF-β1, and b-FGF in HCC specimens and evaluated the relationship between these growth factors and the clinicopathologic characteristics of HCC. Method: We reviewed the medical records of 30 patients who were diagnosed as hepatocellular carinoma treated with hepatic resection between January 1994 and December 1998 in Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hospital. The selection of the cases was decided according to the condition of paraffin block fixation. The prognostic factors such as age, sex, tumor size, concentration of serum α-fetoprotein, presence of liver cirrhosis, presence of tumor emboli in portal vein, TMN stage, amount of transfusion during the operation, hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection, and Edmonson-Steiner(E-S) grade were investigated. Relationship between the prognostic factors and the immunopathologic expression of the TGF-β1, b-FGF, and VEGF was examined. Result: Thirty patients (24 males, 6 females) were included in the current study. The patient's mean age was 50.6 years and the age ranged from 36 to 65 years. The mean size of the tumor was found to be 5.2cm. All the patients were follewed up for 7 to 63 months. Child's classification A patients were 23(76.7%)cases, B patients were 7(23.3%)cases, and C was none. Immunohistochemical staining of HCC tumor mass in VEGF expression patients were 17(56.7%), b-FGF expression patients were 10(33.3%), and TGF-β1 expression patients were 10(33.3%). VEGF expression or more than one positive expression among the three factors correlated with tumor size and the stage of HCC but did not correlated with other clinicopathological characteristics. TGF-β1 and b-FGF did not correlate with any clinicopathological characteristics. Conclusion: The results suggest that the expression of VEGF or more than one positive expression among the three factors in HCC cells may be a significant prognostic factor of HCC.
