The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of methylphenidate, a psychostimulant, on quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) during the continuous performance test (CPT) in boys with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The QEEG was obtained from 20 boys with ADHD. The amplitudes of 4 bands (α, β, δ, and θ) in the QEEG, as well as the θ/β ratio, before and after the administration of methylphenidate were compared during both the resting and CPT states. Methylphenidate induced a significant increase of α activities in both the right and left frontal and occipital areas, an increase of β activities in almost all areas except for the temporal region, a decrease of θ activities in both the occipital and right temporo-parietal areas, a mild decrease of δ activities in the occipito-parietal areas, and an increase of the θ/β ratio in the right frontal and parieto-occipital, and left temporal areas during the CPT state. No significant QEEG changes were induced by the administration of methylphenidate in the resting state. These data suggest that methylphenidate has greater electrophysiological influences on the cerebral topographical activities during the performance of attentional tasks, as compared to the resting state, in boys with ADHD.

The proposed algorithm can always set up the optimal threshold value regardless of channel characteristics using an adaptive threshold establishment method that determines the threshold level according to channel noise power, and then it uses the specially designed training symbols that can make the algorithm's estimation performance be less sensitive to power delay profile variation in a multipath channel. In result, the estimation performance of the proposed technique is less affected by channel characteristic variation. 제안된 알고리듬은 채널 잡음전력에 따라 적응적으로 문턱값 레벨을 결정하는 적응 문턱값 설정방식을 사용하여 채널특성에 관계없이 항상 최적의 문턱값을 설정한다. 또한, 이것은 그 추정성능이 다중경로채널에서의 전력지연 프로파일 변동에 대해 덜 민감하도록 만드는 특별하게 설계된 훈련심볼을 사용한다. 그 결과, 제안된 기법의 추정성능은 채널특성 변동에 대해 영향을 적게 받는다.
경골 내염전 환아에서 경비골 역회전 교정장치(TCR)의 치료 효과

목 적 : 우리나라와 일본 같이 전통적으로 좌식생활을 많이 하는 동아시아 국가에서는 경골 내염전이 많은 것으로 알려져 있다. 또한 경골 내염전이나 지나친 외염전은 미용적인 문제, 기능인 문제, 정신적인 문제 외에도 나이 들어서 퇴행성 관절염의 발생과도 관련이 있다. 본 연구는 경골 내염전 환아에서 경비골 역회전 교정장치(Tibia Counter Rotator, TCR)를 이용한 치료 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 2002년 4월부터 2006년 9월까지 고대안암병원 소아과 소아족부클리닉과 충남의대 소아재활의학과 신발클리닉, 국민보험공단 일산병원 재활의학과를 방문하여 경골 내염전으로 진단 받고 보조기 치료를 하여, 추적관찰 기간이 1년 이상된 환아, 또는 2006년 9월 현재 치료가 완료된 환아 149명(274하지)을 대상으로 하였다. 환자군은 치료 시작시 연령을 기준으로 만 2세미만, 만 2세 이상 3세 미만, 만 3세 이상 4세 미만, 만 4세 이상 5세 미만, 만 5세 이상 6세 미만, 만 6세 이상 9세 미만, 만 9세 이상의 7개의 연령군으로 나누었으며, 환아들의 복사 통과 각도를 치료 시작 시점과 치료 시작 후 1, 3, 6, 9, 12개월에 순차적으로 측정하여 비교하였다. 결 과 : 복사 통과 각도 0 이하의 경골 내염전을 보이는 신경학적인 이상이 없는 12세 이하의 환아에서 경비골 역회전 교정장치를 이용한 경골내염전의 교정을 통해 전 연령군에서 복사통과 각도가 2차 곡선 형태로 증가하는 경향을 보였으며, 복사통과 각도의 초기 값과 교정후의 값간에도 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<0.001). 결 론 : 경비골 역회전 교정장치는 경골 내염전을 교정하는 효과적인 방법이 될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. Purpose : Tibial internal torsion is prevalent in East Asian countries such as Korea and Japan, where sitting on the floor is common behavior. Tibial internal torsion or excessive lateral tibial torsion may cause esthetical, functional, or psychological problems and also may induce degenerative arthritis in older age. The aim of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Tibial Counter Rotator (TCR) in patients with tibial internal torsion. Method : One hundred forty nine children (274 limbs) with tibial internal torsion participated in this study. Transmalleolar angle were measured with gravity goniometer. When tibial internal torsion was detected, TCR was applied at least for 3 hours a day during sleep. The patient's progress was followed monthly and transmalleolar angle was reevaluated by the same examiner. Results : Transmalleolar angle was significantly increased in patients with tibial internal torsion during TCR application (P<0.001). Conclusion : TCR can be one of the effective methods for correcting tibial internal torsion in children under 12 years old of age.

Child sexual abuse (CSA) is one of the most crucial health and social problems. CSA has complicated issues related to mental, physical, sociocultural and legal perspectives, and social welfare in children and their families. Several psychopathologies following CSA have been reported as an immediate or short-term sequela, including fearfulness, anxiety-related symptoms, dissociation, and depression. Further, victimized adolescents have been reported to exhibit increased multiple problematic behaviors, such as suicidality, sexual dissatisfaction, uncontrolled sexual behaviors, aggression, and illegal drugs or substance abuse, as well as elevated risk of re-victimization. Nation-funded Sunflower Centers have provided comprehensive services for victims of sexual abuse since 2004. It is conducted in the form of one-stop services by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, family therapists, art therapists, police officers, and counseling lawyers at 41 Sunflower Centers. The following issues for child welfare are further elaborated: 1) standardization of practice guidelines to manage trauma-related psychopathology through persistent government-lead research and investments for victims of CSA, 2) establishment of a nation-based agenda to manage and prevent CSA, 3) establishment of a multi-center nationbased cohort system for research and management of victims of CSA and their families, 4) governmental integration of Sun Flower service for CSA and services for child protection and abuse.
