In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

In developing pumpkin vinegar, the cabohydrates of ripe pumpkin were hydrolyzed with hydrolyzing enzymes such as Termamyl, Viscozyme, Rapidase and Dextrozyme, using the substrates of alcohol and acetic acid fermentation. The sliced pumpkin was heated for 1 hour at 110℃, then crushed. The reducing sugar concentration 11.2∼11.9% of crushed pumpkin was acquired by the enzymatic hydrolysis reaction for 24 hours that the added enzymes concentration were 0.3∼0.5% to total pumpkin volumes at 50℃. In ethanol fermentation of pumpkin hydrolysate with Sacchromyces cerevisiae. optimum reducing sugar concentration of the hydrolysate adjusted by adding dextrose was revealed as 20%. In this condition the ethanol concentration of the hydrolysate was reached 12.0% by cultured for 7days at 30℃. The pumpkin hydrolysate adjusted to ethanol concentration 6.0% with water was inoculated with Acetobacter aceti and cultured statically for 30days at 30℃. The maximum acidity 6.5% of the solution was achieved.

원적산 봉수대 주변정비 기본계획

문화재란 문화가치가 있는 사물로서 국가 가 종교적·세속적 근거에 따라 특별히 지정 한 재산이다. 문화재는 그것이 구현하는 정신적 가치와 시각적 음향적으로 표현하는 수단으로서 그 나라의 독특하고, 다양한 주체성을 보존하는 중요한 매체이기도 하다. 그러므로 문화재는 한나라의 민족역사와 문화로서 과거의 모습을 통해 현재 그리고 나아가 미래를 연결시키는 하나의 매개체인 것이다. 또한 문화재는 그 지역민에게 향토사적 인 자긍심 및 연대의식을 고취시키는 동시에 나아가 한 나라, 세계적인 관심사로 여겨 야 할 것이다. 원적산 봉수대는 양산군청 소재지에서 북쪽으로 약 9.2㎞, 통도사입구 마을인 신평에서 남쪽으로 8㎞지점에 있다. 이 봉수대는 경상남도 기념물 제 118호로써 원적산봉수대 보존회에 의해 복원된 문화재이다. 즉 다른 지역의 문화재와 달리 잊혀 져가는 문화재의 재생을 통해 다시 태어난 문화재인 것이다. 원적산 봉수대 주변정비 기본계획의 목적 은 지역민의 자긍심으로 복원된 봉수대와 주 변과 접근로를 체계적으로 정비를 함으로써 접근성, 전통성, 보존성을 높이고자 한다. 특히, 문화재보호를 위한 제반 법규 및 현지여건에 부합하는 정비방향을 설정하고, 전문 인력과 관련문헌을 바탕으로 문화재 주변을 역사성과 주민친화성, 기능성, 관광성을 함께 갖춘 문화공간으로서의 미래지향적 문화재정비 계획을 추구하고자 한다.

근관충전의 폐쇄효과 평가에서 색소침투의 정성적 및 정량적 측정의 상호관계

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between linear and volumetric measurements of apical dye penetration in canals obturated by various kinds of methods. The canals of 108 roots without crown were conventionally prepared and randomly assigned to four group. The canals of group Ⅰa2 were obturated by lateral condensation with sealer, group Ⅱa2 by thermoplasticized low-temperature(70℃) gutta-percha with sealer, group Ⅲ by Thermafil endodntic obturation with sealer and group Ⅳ by injection-molded thermop-lasticized guttapercha. One mm of root apex was exposed to a 2% methylene blue solution at 37℃ for 10 days, and the quality of apical seals was assessed by measuring the leakage linearly and volumetrically. The obtained results were as follows : In linear measurements, group Ⅱ showed significanty less leakage than group Ⅲ, I and group Ⅲalso showed less than group Ⅳ, but no statistically significant difference was demonstrated between the others. In volumetric measurements, group Ⅱ showed significantly less leakage than group Ⅰand Ⅱ, and no significant difference form group Ⅲ. There was a weak significant correlation between the linear measurement and the volumetric measuremene(r=0.3391, P<0.001).

두개하악장애환자의 임상적 평가를 위한 컴퓨터적외선체열검사 : CLINICAL EVALUATION

The purpose of this study was to assess the thermographic differences of craniomandibular area between normal indivisuals and patients with craniomandibular disorders and to compare the differences between clinical and thermographical assessment. The author had used 50 subjects as materials for this study, which was divided into 2 groups (first group included 15 healthy subjects and second group included 35 patients) with craniomandibular disorders; 17 subjects had normal disc-condyle relationship, 13 subjects had disc displacement with reduction and 5 subjects had disc displacement without reduction. Agema870 thermovision(D.I.T.I.) was used to take thenuographs with 0.1t difference of gradual temperature shift. The. results were as follows 1. Of 34'patients with craniofacial pain, 15(44.1%) subjects showed hyperthermia on the pain site in the theiniography, 8(23.5%) exhibited hyperthermia on the site opposed to the pain site, and 11(32.4%) did not show any significant thermal change. One patient without craniofacial pain showed hyperthermia on the site opposed to the site of disc displacement without reduction. 2. Of 35 patients with craniofacial pain or disc dispalcement, 24(68.6%) subjects showed a significant thermal difference between symptomatic and asymptomatic sides of the face, but 11(31.4%) did not show any difference. 3. Of 17 patients with pain but with normal disc-condyle relationship, 8(47.1%) subjects- showed hyperthermia on the pain site, 4(23.5%) showed on the site opposed to the pain site, and 5(29.4%) did not show any significant thermal change. 4. Of 13 patients with pain and disc dispacement with reduction, 6(46.2%) subjects showed hyperthermia on the pain site, 3(23.1%) showed on the site opposed to the pain site, and 4(30.8%) did not show any significant thermal change. 5. 15 healthy subjects did not show any thermal differences between the both sides of the face.

cis-Diamminedichloroplatinum (Ⅱ) 이 Mouse 肝實質細胞의 微細構造에 미치는 影響에 관한 電子顯微鏡的 硏究

cis-Diamminedichloroplatinum II (cis-DDP_ is a platinum coordination complex with its chloride and ammonia residue are located in the cis-configuration, it reacts with DNA forming cross links, that it inhabits cell division. So it is effective in the therapy of leukemia, acute ovarian carcinoma, bladder cancer and cervix cancer. It has not specificity with regard to cells that it acts on the normal cells as well as cancer cells during the theraphy. So the author undertook the present study to pursue the effect of cis-DDP on the cytoplasmic organelles of hepatocytes. Albino mice, ICR strain, weighing 20gm were used as an experimental animals. The experimental animals were killed at 2,4,6 days after the administration of 6 mg/kg of cis-DDP. The specimen obtained from the liver were fixed and stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate. These preparations were observed with the JEM 100B electron microscope. The results were as follows. 1. The cisternae of the rough endoplsmic reticulum were dilated or sacculated and the membrane bound ribosomes were detached n the 2 day cis-DDP treated group. Cristernae of the rough endoplsmic reticulum were segmented in the 4 and 6 day cis-DDP treated gqoups. 2. Smooth endoplsmic reticulum were proliferated and glycogen droplets were decreased in the 6 day cis-DDP treated group. 3. The cisternae of the Golgi complex were swollen and hypertrophied in the 2 and 4 day cis-DDP treated groups but they were atrophied in the 6 day cis-DDP treated group. 4. Mitochondria were swollen and its membrane and crest were disappeared in the 6 day cis-DDP treated group. 5. Numerous autophagic vacuoles were observed in the 6 day cis-DDP treated group. Consequently it is suggested that cis-DDP would induce the damage of the organelles of the hepatocyte in the mice.

한국에서 한 일간지 신문기사 검색을 통한 IMF 전과 후의 자살 양상 비교

Objectives : Under an IMF bailout program, our country's financial situation forced people to change many things suddenly. Therefore, this study was attempted to search the aspects of changes of suicide attempts in order to find out how the financial crisis affects people's suicide attempts, the extreme repertoire for psychological change Method : November 21, 1997, the day issued the application of IMF bailout program, is the basic date for comparing the changes, on a certain newspaper(Dong-A daily newspaper). The condition was divided into two, namely before and after the basic date, and the characteristics of suicide were compared between two conditions. Results : The news of suicide increased more after than before the application of IMF situation. (before:105, after:158) Specially, for 30-50 years old, active age in community, the rate of suicide attempts reached twice than that of the others. After the IMF situation, the prominent reason of suicide was the financial crisis. For the type of suicide, the family suicide was remarkably increased after the IMF situation. Conclusion : The frequency of the news of suicide was higher after than before IMF bailout program. The major reason of suicide was the financial crisis. Considering that the social and economic crisis affects people's view of death, psychosocial interventions are necessary for their mental health.
