Purpose: The consequences of precipitously rising allergic skin inflammation rates worldwide have accelerated the risk of atopic dermatitis (AD). Natural product-based agents with good efficacy and low risk of side effects offer promising prevention and treatment strategies for inflammation-related diseases. We have already reported that Platycodon grandiflorum root-derived saponins (Changkil saponins, CKS) have many pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, but its influence on AD remains unclear. Therefore, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on AD-like skin symptoms in mice and the possible mechanisms in cells. Methods: Mice were sensitized and challenged with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB). Four weeks after challenge, mice were treated with oral administration of CKS for 4 weeks. In addition, cells were used to evaluate the effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on the TARC expression regulated mechanism. Results: CKS attenuated DNCB-induced dermatitis severity, serum levels of IgE and TARC, and mRNA expression of TARC, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 in mice. Histopathological examination showed reduced thickness of the epidermis/dermis and dermal infiltration of inflammatory cells and mast cells in the ears. Moreover, CKS and platycodin D inhibited TNF-α/IFN-γ-induced TARC expression through the suppression of NF-κB and STAT1 and induction of Nrf2/ARE-mediated hemeoxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in cells. Conclusion: We suggest that CKS and platycodin D inhibited the development of AD-like skin symptoms by regulating cytokine mediators and may be an effective alternative therapy for AD-like skin symptoms.ⓒ2014 Elsevler Gmbh. In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.
Diphenylhydantoin이 백서뇌신경세포막의 Na^+, K^+ -ATPase에 미치는 영향

To study the effect of diphenylhydantoin on the synaptosomal Na^+ K^+ -ATPase in the rat with Goldblatt kidney, one kidney was removed and renal artery on the other side was partially ligated (external diameter=0.38mm). One kidney was removed in the control group. Synaptosome was prepared from the control and hypertensive rat and ATPase activity (total, EGTA, Azide and ouabain sensitive) was measured in the presence or absence of saponin. The effect of diphenylhydantoin on the synaptosomal ATPase was observed in the presence of diphenylhydantoin and/or ouabain. To investigate the maximal binding of ouabain to synaptosome, ouabain binding study was also carried out. Results as follows: 1. Blood pressure was significantly increased in 1-kidney, 1-clip hypertensive rat. 2. ATPase activity(Total, EGTA and ouabain sensitive) was increased to 2 times in the presence of saponin in the hypertensive and control group. 3. Na^+, K^+ -ATPase activity in hypertensive group was significantly decreased, compared with the control group. 4. Diphenylhydantoin slightly increased the ATPase activity in the control and hypertensive group, but it was not significant. 5. Total activity of ATPase was significantly decreased in the case with dephenylhydantoin and ouabain, but there was not difference between ouabain and ouabain with diphenylhydantoin treated case. 6. In the experiment of oubain binding, diphenylhydantoin did not alter Bmax and Kd of hypertensive and control group. From the above results, it is suggested that diphenylhydantoin will decrease the intracellular sodium without dependence on the stimulation of Na^+, K^+ -ATPase-in hypertensive rat.

Shakespeare, in all of his plays, shows his concerns of order and chaos resulted from the destruction of order and restoration of it in the end. In his comedies, those of external orders are explored and in his histories those of political orders are pursued. And in his tragedies, which are supposed to attract his keenest interest and deal with the problems of good and evil, he explored the destruction and restoration of moral order with greater efforts than those of external orders. But when a more careful investigation can find the intention of the author and the more internal signifcance in his tragedies. He has much more interest in the moral orders of the characters, when they confront the critical problems. In his tragedies, when the characters, good or evil, are doomed to death, a kind of poetic justics is not proved in fact, but there must be an ultimate power or order in the tragic world, which is the power or order to set everything right in the end. The statement that the ultimate power or order is moral means that it does not show itself indifferent to good and evil, or equally favorable or unfavorable to both, but shows itself akin to good and alien from evil. This dissertation explores the causes of the hero's fall: the author's concerns of moral order in othello. In this play, an initial motive of the hero's tragic failure lies in his deceptive deed of seducing Desdemona. This play shows the process of temptation into which Iago attempts to beguile Othello. Othello is, at first, large, open-minded and well-balanced, but poisoned by envy of cunning Iago, he becomes quite an another man ; chaos comes to his mind. The shock that strikes his soul when he hears of Desdemona's unchastity, makes him emotionally blind. In this play the change of the hero's moral order is more emphasized than the external order of his home or the city. Iago, embodiment of evil, for a while, seems to defeat good Othello and Desdemona, but he is doomed himself to be tortured to death in the end.

In this paper, the study of a design and fabrication of the substrate type isolator for 6.8 GHz band. The small isolator was designed using new simulation modeling result and fabricated using ferrite substrate and permanent magnet. Results of the manufactured isolator show that the center frequency is 6.8 GHz, the insertion loss is 0.33 dB at center frequency , the isolation is 21.11 dB at center frequency. The designed isolator size is 10 mm × 10 mm. Especially, the proposed design techniques with modeling can be applied to the design of various isolators.

With the rising importance of mobile communication networks, increasing interest is devoted to microwave circuit technology, in particular the enhancement of ferrite based component such as circulators. Design and development experience for microstrip circulators began in 1965. Since then, experimental data and collective experience of the design have been used to ferrite devices with frequency and create new designs for various application. In this paper, simulation modeling of microstrip circulator was proposed. This modeling was suitable to simulation using commercial simulator(HFSS) Especially, the proposed simulation techniques with modeling can be applied to the design of various circulators.
오스테나이트계 스테인리스강의 진동 캐비테이션 침식-부식 특성에 관한 연구

The cavitation erosion-corrosion under such an or ironments became a serious problem on a mechanical devices and structures by the shock wave or shock pressure result when bubbles form and collapse at a surface of metal within a liquid. If the liquid is corrosive to the material, the component of material may have serious damage by a combination of mechanical and electrochemical attack. Therefore, it is very important to study the behaviour of the cavitation erosion-corrosion damage. In this study, austenitic stainless steel was investigated by using the poezoelectric vibrator with 20㎑, 24㎛ to cavity generation apparatus. The composition of test solutions are artificial seawater, tap wafter, distilled water and various solutions of pH( from pH 0 to pH 12 ). Every cases of these test, the erosion-corrosion damages under vibratory cavitation are measured by weight loss, weight loss rate and potentiodynamic polarization curves.

As the machine tool industry progresses, the performance of cutting tools also needs to be of good quality and specialized. If the existing metal cutting tool tip is coated properly, its life would be longer and the machining of a difficult-to-cut material also could be possible. For the development of the high quality cutting tool, the applicabilities of TiCN coating deposited by PVD on the cutting insert were experimentally investigated. The various analyses such as SEM micrograph, XRD pattern, AFM surface morphology, and hardness were performed to cross-check the possibility and availability of TiCN coated tool in the field.
