Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

This paper presents output voltage control method of buck converter using fuzzy control theory. Output voltage is obtained by duty ratio as output of the fuzzy control. By proposed fuzzy control system, it is good characteristics in the steady state and the transient. The system have robust output characteristics that have nothing to do with load variation from no load to full load. This feature is verified through the computer simulations.
구조용 중탄소강 SM45C의 열처리에 따른 기계적 성질변화

The aim of this study is to find out the relationships between the microstructures of SM45C(AIS11045) steel and fatigue crack propagation behaviour. Three microstructures such as (ⅰ) as received (fully annealed). (ⅱ) water quenched and tempered, and (ⅲ) ail quenched and tempered were used for fundamental mechanical testing and fatigue crack proagation test. The microstructures of (ⅱ) and (ⅲ) showed superior in tensile strength to (ⅰ). Resistance against fatigue crack propagation was higher in structure (ⅰ), while tensile properties were better in structures(ⅱ) and (ⅲ). It is believed due to that the enhancement of roughness of fracture surface obsered in structure (ⅰ) increases ?Kth and lowers fatigue crack growth rate. However it does not necessarily mean the quenched and tempered structures (ⅱ) and (ⅲ) are undesirable for the engineering component because fatigue limit in low cycle test appears usually higher in the microstructures of higher strength.

In this paper, we researched about CELP(Code-Excited Linear Prediction) Speech coding algorithm using efficient pseudo-stovhastic block codes, adaptive-codebook and improred fixed-gaim-codebook. The pseudo-stochastic block codes refer to stochastically populated block codes. The adaptive-codebook made with previous prediction speech data by storage-shift register. This CELP coding algorithm enables the coding of toll quality speech at bit rates from 4.8 kbits/s to 9.6 kbits/s. This algorithm was realized with TMS320C30 microprocessor in realtime.

This paper introduces a new type of driving mechanism for rescue robot that has a variable geometry single-track which satisfies the pre-conditions of rescue robot. This mechanism is a symmetric configuration that has dual directions and prepares against overturn. By using transformation, it can reduce the energy consumption in steering and rotating. And also it maximizes the ability to overcome obstacles, like steps. It is designed to make the size of robot compact and to have the low center of gravity in driving on steps. Finally, we optimized the design variables of components determining the shape of reverse-trapezoid frame to enhance the adaptability to 4 phases of climbing steps.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We investigated the mechanism for the induction of a chemokine, IL-8, by bacterial flagellins in the human alveolar type II epithelial cell line, A549. Bacterial flagellin induced expression of IL-8 mRNA and protein in dose- and time-dependent manners. IL-8 expression was inhibited by nystatin (a lipid rafts inhibitor) but not by chlorpromazine (a clathrin-coated pits inhibitor). Interestingly, Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) recognizing flagellins was found in the intracellular compartment of A549 but rarely on the cell surface. Flagellin-induced IL-8 expression appears to be mediated through TLR5 as determined by <I>in vitro</I> transient transfection experiment in HEK-293 cells expressing TLR5 using a reporter gene construct containing IL-8 promoter. IL-8 expression was attenuated by inhibitors for protein kinase C (PKC) and mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases. Furthermore, NF-κB and NF-IL6 transcription factors played an important role in the flagellin-induced IL-8 gene expression in A549 cells. Collectively, these results suggest that flagellin-induced IL-8 expression requires formation of lipid rafts, intracellular TLR activation, and subsequent activation of PKC and MAP kinases leading to the activation of the transcription factors NF-κB and NF-IL6 in human alveolar type II epithelial cells.</P>

The quality of agricultural product is determined by various factors, which can be measured and determined by non-destructive method. In this paper, the algorithm to determine its quality and grading is presented. And the algorithm is applied to real-time citrus classifier. The size color are measured by digital image processing. Citrus classification capacity of six quantity pet one second.
Rocuronium 애벌투여시 근이완 발현시간 정도의 관찰

Methods: A total of 100 patients with ASA physical status I-II scheduled for elective surgery were enrolled. After induction with propofol (1.5mg/kg), one hundred patients were randomly allocated to two groups (Group A: T1 height depression (T1%)≥90%, Group B:T1 height depression (T1%) < 90%). Three minutes after priming with rocuronium (0.06 mg/kg), Group A received 0.54 mg/kg rocuronium, Group B received sensitivity-adjusted dose of rocuronium, respectively. Intubation was performed when T1 height depression (T1%) = 0% (onset time). Neuromuscular function was assessed using Evoked Eletromyography (Datex Relaxo graph NMT. Datex. Helsinki. Finland). Results: Three minutes after priming (0.06 mg/kg), T1 height depression (T1%) in Group B (71.0 ± 8.8%) were significantly lower than Group A (98.4 ± 2.4%) (P < 0.05). The onset times in Group B (195 ± 29s) were significantly shorter (P < 0.05) than Group A (248 ± 34 s). Conclusions: Sensitivity-adjusted dose of rocuronium by priming decreased the onset times and total rocuronium dose.
Risk Factors for Postoperative Recurrence in Korean Patients with Crohn’s Disease

Background/Aims: A considerable number of patients with Crohn’s disease still need intestinal resection surgery. Postoperative recurrence is an important issue in Crohn’s disease management, including the selection of high-risk patients. Eastern Asian patients showed several differences from Caucasian patients. Therefore, we investigated the postoperative surgical recurrence outcome and identified risk factors in Korean patients. Methods: Clinical data of 372 patients with Crohn’s disease who underwent first intestinal resection between January 2004 and August 2014 at 14 hospitals in Korea were retrospectively reviewed. Results: Over the follow-up period, 50 patients (17.1%) showed surgical recurrence. The cumulative surgical recurrence rate was 6.5% at 1 year and 15.4% at 7 years. Age under 16 (p=0.011; hazard ratio [HR], 5.136; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.576 to 16.731), colonic involvement (p=0.023; HR , 2.011; 95% CI, 1.102 to 3.670), and the presence of perianal disease at surgery (p=0.008; HR, 2.239; 95% CI, 1.236 to 4.059) were independent risk factors associated with surgical recurrence. Postoperative thiopurine treatment (p=0.002; HR, 0.393; 95% CI, 0.218 to 0.710) was a protective factor for surgical recurrence. Conclusions: Among the disease characteristics at surgery, younger age, colonic location, and perianal lesions were independent risk factors for surgical recurrence. Postoperative thiopurine treatment significantly reduced the incidence of surgical recurrence.
