        몬순기후와 복잡지형의 특성을 갖는 광릉 산림유역의 물과 탄소순환에 대한 교차규모 연구로부터의 교훈

        광릉 슈퍼사이트에서 대기와 식생간의 에너지와 물질교환 규명은 지형과 식생의 복잡성으로 인해 많은 기술적인 어려움에 직면하고 있다. 따라서 KoFlux 연구에서는 상호보완적인 다중 분야의 연구를 통해 이러한 어려움을 극복하기 위한 시도를 해 오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 진행중인 KoFlux 연구의 예비결과 중 특히 광릉사이트에서의 물/탄소수지, 물과 탄소순환의 상호관련성 그리고 몬순기후하의 생태계에서 탄소순환에 미치는 수문학적 요인의 중요성에 대해 중점적으로 논의하고자 한다. 광릉낙엽활엽수림의 순생태생산량 (NEP)은 광범위한 생태학적 연구결과에 따르면 약 ~2.6 t C/ha/y로 예상된다. 이를 미기상 플럭스 관측 결과와 함께 고려할 때 광릉 산림은 탄소의 중요한 육상흡원으로서 기능함을 예상할 수 있다. 다양한 생태수문 관측에 의해 규명된 유역단위 물수지에 의하면 연단위 전체강수량의 약 30-40%가 증발산 (ET)에 해당함을 나타내고 있다. 광릉산림의 대표적인 수종인 졸참과 서어나무의 잎에서 얻어진 탄소 안정동위 원소 조성에 근거하여 계산된 식물 성장기간의 평균 물 이용효율(WUE)은 약 ~12 μmol CO2/mmol H2O에 해당된다. 얻어진 증발산량과 물이용효율은 유역단위의 생태계 생산량을 산출하는데 이용될 수 있다. 나이테 성장량과 토양호흡량의 연단위 변화는 강수량과 강수의 패턴에 의해 크게 영향을 받음을 보이고, 이는 몬순기후에 영향을 받는 동아시아 지역 생태계에서 탄소 순환과정이 수문학적 조건과 밀접한 상관관계를 가짐을 지시한다. 연구지역의 공간적 특성을 정량화하기 위해 관측지의 구조 및 기능적 단위를 규명하기 위한 연구가 진행되고 있고 이를 통해 서로 다른 시공간 규모에서 진행되고 있는 연구의 결과물을 체계적으로 연결 통합하고 나아가 보다 광역적인 규모에서 대표적인 물/탄소 수지를 산출하기 위한 연구가 시도되고 있다. KoFlux Gwangneung Supersite comprises complex topography and diverse vegetation types (and structures), which necessitate complementary multi-disciplinary measurements to understand energy and matter exchange. Here, we report the results of this ongoing research with special focuses on carbon/water budgets in Gwangneung forest, implications of inter-dependency between water and carbon cycles, and the importance of hydrology in carbon cycling under monsoon climate. Comprehensive biometric and chamber measurements indicated the mean annual net ecosystem productivity (NEP) of this forest to be ~2.6 t C ha-1 y-1. In conjunction with the tower flux measurement, the preliminary carbon budget suggests the Gwangneung forest to be an important sink for atmospheric CO2. The catchment scale water budget indicated that 30~40% of annual precipitation was apportioned to evapotranspiration (ET). The growing season average of the water use efficiency (WUE), determined from leaf carbon isotope ratios of representative tree species, was about 12 μmol CO2/mmol H2O with noticeable seasonal variations. Such information on ET and WUE can be used to constrain the catchment scale carbon uptake. Inter-annual variations in tree ring growth and soil respiration rates correlated with the magnitude and the pattern of precipitation during the growing season, which requires further investigation of the effect of a monsoon climate on the catchment carbon cycle. Additionally, we examine whether structural and functional units exist in this catchment by characterizing the spatial heterogeneity of the study site, which will provide the linkage between different spatial and temporal scale measurements.

        This paper describes a speed sensorless algorithm for vector control system with compensated rotor time constant variation of induction motor using a model reference adaptive system (MRAS). The proposed system is composed of two MRAS, one is a rotor speed estimation identification by a back-EMF observer, another is a rotor time constant identification by magnetizing current observer. As a result, robust field oriented control system of induction machine against paremeter variation can be realized. The suggested control strategy and estimation method have been validated by simulation study. In the simulation using Matlab/Simulink, the proposed speed sensorless vector control system operated very well in spite of variable rotor time constant and load fluctuation.

        Although there have been several pharmacologically distinct categories of anti-allergic agents, almost all of them are known to be limited in their clinical utility due primarily to side effects and weak efficacy. This fact is encouraging many investigators to screen novel anti-allergic agents structurally different from existing compounds. In a project to search anti-allergics from natural projects, we examined a wide range of higher plants to discover that acetone-water crude extract of Geranium thunbergii is effective in suppressing the passive cutaneous anaphylaxis ( PCA) responses of rats, a standard in vivo model for anti-allergy testing, The fraction underwent four steps further in an activity-guided manner finally to separate an active principle, GT2-3. With the aid of NMR spectroscopy, COSY, HMQC and DEPT techniques, the chemical structure of GT2-3 was determined to be quercetin, a known compound. The result indicates that quercetin is not potent enough for immediate clinical application, however, quercetin can be a promising lead compound for chemical modification for anti-allergic agent.

      • 황해 Calanus sinicus (Copepoda:Calanoida)의 시ㆍ공 분포와 체장 변동

        Spatial and temporal distribution of Calanus sinicus was studied by using of samples collected bimonthly during the period from June 1997 to April 1998 at 39 selected stations in the Yellow Sea. C. sinicus, sorted from samples collected with vertical hauls of NORPAC net, was counted and measured for its prosome length. This species was revealed to be distributed widly in the Yellow Sea all the fear round. No distinct difference in its spatial and temporal distribution was observed between off waters and coastal ones, Maximum abundance of 170-262 indiv. m-3 was recorded in June and August while minimum of 32 indiv. m-3 in December. Despite the species being known as a cold water animal with the preference for waters less than 20-3O℃, this species seemed to be able to survive under high temperature conditions with well developed stratification. Since the animal was collected in surface waters of 27.47℃ at the night and often occurred abundantly in well stratified waters regardless of surface temperature. No environmental influence on the spatial distribution of the species was detected. Both body length and width were recorded to be maximum in April while minimum in August and October.

        실크 피브로인의 대규모 투석 공정의 단위 모듈의 개발

        For the development of a large-scale dialysis process for silk fibroin solution, a batch and continuous dialysis chamber was designed and built, which are to be used as a unit module for the process. A series of dialysis experiments were carried out to estimate the kinetic parameters for dialysis using the solutions of salt-solubilized silk fibroin. The solution was dialyzed by distilled water either batch-wise or continuously. Dialysis kinetics was monitored by measuring refractometery at high salt concentration and conductivity at lower salt concentration. The apparent dialysis coefficients were 5.4g/m2-hr and 1.8g/m2-hr, for well mixed batch and continuous dialysis, respectively. The alteration of molecular weight distribution of dialyzed silk fibroin solution was monitored.

        The purpose of this work is to investigate fatigue damage of quasi-isotropic laminates under tensile loading in different directions. Low cycle fatigue tests of [O/-60/+60]s laminates and [+30/-30/90]s laminates were carried out. Materials systems used are AS4/Epoxy and AS4/PEEK. The fatigue damage of [+30/-30/90]s is very different from that of [O/-60/+60]s. The position of delamination generated at AS4/Epoxy and AS4/PEEK laminates were differentiated by the matrix difference that is, we suppose, the value of both G (critical energy release rate of mode-I) and G (critical energy release rate of mode-Ⅲ) difference. The experimental results are compared with the result obtained from the method of determining strain energy release rate components proposed by the authors.

        In this study, the mode shape of infinite fluid loaded plate is examined. The stiffeners are assumed to be equally spaced and exert only force on the Plate. The response of a fluid loaded ㄷ-type stiffened plate to a convected harmonic pressure and the far field radiation Produced by a point force excitation have been found by using Fourier transforms, a method which is particularly useful when fluid loading is included. At low and high frequencies the far field Pressure for a point excited stiffened plate is dominated by the fluid properties and the properties of the plate at the point of excitation. Mode in the far field pressure is found at the given direction of scattering frequencies, and in these frequencies the stationary phase wave frequencies are found to coincide with the free wave propagation constants for the stiffened plate. Also, the variation in the modes of the sound pressure level is increased with the increases of the bay space and in the bay area

      • 계면활성제를 이용한 직접메탄올용 고분산 Pt/C 촉매의 개발

        Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) using a polymer electrolyte membrane is a kind of ideal energy source. DMFC has been in the spotlight of a probable application in the portable power source and in the hybrid electrical vehicles. However, the high cost of Pt and the low performance are difficult problems. In this study, the DMFC anode catalysts could be prepared from hydrosols with Pt particle size of 2-3 nm. Pt hydrosols were prepared by various kinds of surfactants. The Pt particles obtained were supported on Vulcan XC-72 as the hydrosols were destabilized by the addition of organic solvent, ethanol. The Pt particle size was not changed after deposition on the support. Pt/C catalyst using SB12 as a surfactant had higher catalytic activity than that using Brij 35. The catalytic activity of the developed Pt/C for methanol oxidation was 134 mA/㎤ of maximum current density, which was similar to that of a commercial one.

        정신분열병에 대한 리스페리돈의 효과 및 안정성

        연구목적 : 본 시험의 목적은 임상시험 시작전에 연구자들을 대상으로 PANSS Workshop을 통하여 PANSS, ESRS에 대한 국내에서의 표준화 작업을 구축하고 새로운 정신병 치료제인 리스페리돈의 효과와 안정성을 재확인하여 리스페리돈 사용에 대한 적정화를 이루는데 있다. 연구방법 : 1996년 4월부터 1996년 9월까지 국내 39개 대학병원 정신과에 입원중인 혹은 증상이 악화되어 입원하는 정신분열병 환자 377명을 대상으로 다시설 개방 연구를 시행하였다. 1주일간의 약물 배설기간을 가진후, 리스페리돈을 8주간 투여하였고, 기준점, 1주, 2주, 4주, 그리고 8주후에 평가되었다. 용량은 제1일에는 리스페리돈 1mg씩 1일 2회, 제2일에는 2mg씩 1일 2회, 제3∼7일에는 3mg씩 1일 2회 투여하였다. 이후 환자의 임상상태에 따라 임의로 증량할 수 있으며, 최대 일일 16mg을 초과하지 않도록 하였다. 추체외로 증상을 조절하기 위한 투약을 허용하였다. 임상증상 및 부작용의 평가는 PANSS(Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale), CGI(Clinical Global Impression) 그리고 ESRS(Extrapyramidal Symptom Rating Scale)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 : 377명중 343명(91%)이 8주간의 연구를 완결하였다. 치료 종결시점인 8주후 PANSS 총점수가 20% 이상 호전된 경우를 약물 반응군으로 정의할때, 약물반응군은 81.3%였다. 리스페리돈에 반응하는 예측인자로는 발병연령, 이전의 입원 횟수, 유병기간이 관련 있었다. 리스페리돈은 1주후부터 PANSS양성, 음성, 및 일반정신병리 점수상에 유의한 호전을 보여 효과가 빨랐다. CGI의 경우도 기준점에 비해 1주후부터 유의한 감소를 나타내었다. ESRS의 경우, 파킨슨 평가점수는 기준점과 비교해 투여 1주, 2주, 4주후 유의하게 증가되었다가 8주후 기준점과 차이가 없었다. Dystonia 평가점수는 1주후만 유의한 증가를 보였으며, dyskinesia 평가점수는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 혈압, 맥박수의 생명징후 및 일반 혈액학 검사, 생화학적 검사, 심전도 검사에서 유의한 변화는 없었다. 결 론 : 이상의 다시설 개방 임상 연구를 통해 리스페리돈은 정신분열병 환자에서 양성증상뿐만 아니라 음성증상 및 전반적인 증상에도 효과적인 것으로 사료된다. 보다 명확한 평가를 위해서는 다른 항정신병약물과의 이중맹검 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각되며, 또한 장기적 치료에 대한 평가도 함께 이루어져야 하겠다. Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of risperidone in the treatment of Korean schizophrenic patients. Method : This multicenter open study included 377 schizophrenic patients drawn from 39 university hospitals. After a wash-out period of 1 week, the schizophrenic patients were treated with risperidone for 8 weeks and evaluated at 5 points ; at baseline, and 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks of treatment. The dose was increased from 2mg/day(1mg twice daily) to 6mg/day(3mg twice daily) during the first week and adjusted to a maximum of 16mg/day over the next 7 weeks according to the patient's clinical response. Medication to control extrapyramidal symptoms was permitted. The psychiatric and neurological status of the patients was assessed by PANSS, CGI, and ESRS scales. Results : 343(91%) of 377 patients completed the 8-week trial period. Clinical improvement, as defined by a 20% or more reduction in total PANSS score at end point, was shown by 81.3% of patients. The predictors of response to risperidone were associated older age, shorter duration of illness, fewer previous hospitalization. Risperidone had rapid onset of action ; a significant decrease of the total PANSS and three PANSS factor(positive, negative, general), and CGI was already noticed at the end of first week. For the ESRS, parkinsonism rating scores were significantly increased until week 4 comparing with baseline. Dystonia rating scores were significantly increased until week 1, and dyskinesia rating scores were not significantly changed during the study. Laboratory parameters including vital sign, EKG, hematological, and biochemical values showed no significant changes during the trial. Conclusions : This study suggests that risperidone is generally safe and effective against both the positive and negative symptoms in our group of patients.
