        Overexpression of Zoysia ZjCIGR1 gene confers cold stress resistance to zoysiagrass

        Zoysia japonica Steud. is a warm-season lawn grass popular in Korea and elsewhere. They are cultivated in many places such as river banks, roadside, and play grounds. However, there still is a disadvantage of frequent mowing, and the grass grows poorly under the chilly conditions. To develop a grass variety that circumvents these drawbacks, we cloned the chitininducible gibberellins-responsive1 gene (CIGR1) from zoysiagrass. The full length of the ZjCIGR1 (Zj; Zoysia japonica Steud.) gene was obtained by 5′/3′ RACE PCR and the phylogenetic tree showed that it belonged to the CIGR1-subgroup in the PAT1-group of GRAS protein family. Expression of the ZjCIGR1 in wild-type plants was confirmed in roots, meristems, leaves, and flowers, especially high in the flowers. The transgenic zoysiagrass was confirmed by PCR using gene-specific primers, phosphinothricin-acetyl-transferase (PAT) strip test, and Southern blot analysis. ZjCIGR1-overexpressing plants acquired tolerance to cold stress displaying morphological phenotypes characteristic of stress resistance. In addition, in the transformants, expression of the ZjCIGR1 as well as cold-regulated (COR) gene was increased compared to the wild-type plants under cold stress condition. These results suggest that ZjCIGR1 gene is an important candidate for regulating cold stress resistance.

      • 신경섬유종증 환자에서 상완신경총 병변의 소견을 보인 척추 신경섬유종

        본 증례는 50세 여성의 제 1형 신경섬유종 환자로서 척추 신경섬유종에 의해 초기 상완신경총 병변 소견을 보였다. 약 4개월 동안 후경부통, 좌측 견관절, 좌측 상완의 마비를 보였으며, 초기 전기진단학적 검사상 경수 5번과 6번 신경근을 중심으로 쇄골상부 신경절전성 상완신경총 병변이 관찰되었다. 그러나, 액와 자기공명영상, 초음파검사, 단순 방사선검사, 골주사 등의 영상학적 검사에서는 심한 흉추 척추 전-측만증과 경수 뇌경막에 확장 소견을 제외하고는 상완신경총 병변의 소견은 관찰되지 않았다. 7개월경과 후, 좌측 상지 및 양측 하지의 근력 저하, 경수 4번이하의 감각 저하, 경도의 흉통을 동반한 호흡곤란이 진행되었다. 응급으로 시행된 경수 자기공명영상에서 좌측 경수 3번과 4번에 경막내 액와-속질의 신경종양이 진단되었다. 수술적 처치를 시행하였으며, 거시적 관찰상 척수 신경섬유종이 진단되었다. 급격히 진행하는 척수 신경섬유종은 초기에 상완신경총의 신경근 병변의 소견을 보일 수 있으므로, 신경섬유종증 환자에서 상완신경총 병변의 진단에 세심한 주의를 요한다. We observed a patient with symptom similar to brachial plexus lesion caused by spinal neurofibroma in a 50-year-old female with a history of neurofibromatosis-1(NF-1). She presented with posterior neck, left shoulder and left upper arm paralysis of 4 months duration. The initial electrodiagnostic study(EDS) revealed supraclavicular preganglionic brachial plexus lesion of mainly involved left C5 and C6 roots. However, radiological imagings including axillar MRI, ultrasonography, cervical plain radiography and bone scintigraphy showed no definitive brachial plexus disease except cervical dural dilation and severe thoracic scolio-Iordosis. On 7 months after the first admission, she had aggravated muscle weakness on the left upper arm and both lower extremities, sensory impairment below C4 and respiration difficulty with the chest pain. Emergency MRI showed intradural axillar-medullary neurogenic tumor at the left C3-C4. Subsequently, the patient was treated with surgical resection. Grossly specimen examination displayed the presence of a spinal neurofibroma. In rapidly progressing spinal neurofibroma represented firstly as root lesion of brachial plexus in EDS, the physician should pay scrupulous care to evaluate the cause.

      • H∞제어를 이용한 Anti-lock Brake System의 슬립율 제어 시스템의 설계

        본 논문에서는 Anti-lock Brake System(ABS)에서 명령추종성능과 견실안정성를 모두 만족하는 제어기를 제안하였다. ABC에서는 슬립율-차체속도와 바퀴의 각속도와의 비율을 제어하여 최적의 제동력으로써 자동차의 방향 안정성을 높이고 짧은 시간 안에 자동차를 정지시키도록 한다. ABC의 제어 시스템은 바퀴와 도로면 사이의 접촉특성에 비선형성이 포함되고, 수학적 모델링을 할 때에 모델링 오차에 대하여 크게 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 자동차의 제동특성에 크게 영향을 미치는 바퀴와 도로면 사이의 접촉특성의 변화에 따른 비선형성을 평형점 부근에서 선형화를 실시하고, 공칭모델에 대한 PID제어기 시스템에 모델링 오차에 대하여 견실한 H∞제어기를 설계하므로써 명령추종성능과 견실안정성을 모두 만족하는 제어기를 설계하고자 한다. This paper proposes the method to perform a linearization of Anti-lock Brake System(ABC) vehicle and to design a controller which has the robust-stability and better command-following-performance under modeling-error from uncertain parameter variation. ABC vehicle, by controling slip ratio, which is body velocity to wheel velocity, can get optimum braking force. For the nominal model PID controller is designed which is used in simple and general cases. Owing to parameter variation, the gain of PID controller have to be newly turned. Consequently, by adding H∞controller on the PID controller, achive the robust-stability and better command-following-performance even though modeling-error from uncertain parameter variation exist.

      • 활로다용 적재량 계측 알고리즘의 개발

        본 논문에서는 휠로다의 굴삭상차 작업시 버켓으로 퍼올린 적재물의 중량을 계측하는 새로운 알고리즘에 관한 연구이다. 구체적으로는 붐회전각 및 붐실린더의 상승측 유실의 압력을 측정하여 각각의 붐회전각 및 압력을 통해 그 때의 적재중량을 계산한다. 설정된 붐회전각의 범위 내에서 연산된 적재중량값 중 최고값 및 최저값 일부의 평균치를 적재중량으로 산정한다. 이러한 연산작업이 굴삭상차 작업 중에 실시간으로 이루어지므로 계측을 위해 장비의 작동을 멈추는 일없이 작업을 계속하면서도 정확한 적재중량이 가능하도록 하였다. This paper is toward the development of the payload measurement algorithm for a wheel loader. The payload is calculated at each boom rotation angle position by measuring both boom rotation angle and boom cylinder pressure. The peak and the bottom values of the payloads calculated above are selectively averaged and its result is assigned to the payload. All the computing processes for the payload are executed in real time. And then, it is possible to continue loading process of the wheel loader without any stop measuring its payload.

        폴록사머를 이용한 디클로페낙 고형 좌제의 개발

        To develop a poloxamer-based solid suppository with poloxamer mixtures, the melting points of various formulations composed of P 124 and P 188 were investigated. To investigate the effect of poloxamer to the dissolution and dissolution mechanism of diclofenac sodium from the suppository the dissolution of diclofenac sodium delivered by the poloxamer-based suppository was performed. Furthermore, to investigate the mucoadhesive property of the poloxamer-based solid suppository, the identification test in the rectum was carried out after its rectal administration in rats. The poloxamer mixtures composed of P 124 and P 188 were homogeneous. Very small amounts of P 188 affected the melting points of poloxamer mixtures. In particular, the poloxamer mixture [P 124/P 188 (97/3%)] with the melting point of about 32℃ was a solid form at room temperature and instantly melted at physiological temperature. Furthermore, very small amounts of P 188 in the poloxamer-based suppository hardly affected the dissolution rates of diclofenac sodium from the suppository. Dissolution mechanism analysis showed the dissolution of diclofenac sodium was proportional to the time. At 4 h after administration, the blue color of poloxamer-based suppository [diclofenac sodium/poloxamer mixture (2.5/97.5%)] with the P 124/P 188 ratio of (97/3%) and blue lake in the rectum was faded. However, the position of suppository in the rectum did not significantly change with time. Thus, it retained in the rectum for at least 4 h. Our results indicated that the poloxamer-based solid suppository with P 124 and P 188 would be a candidate of rectal dosage from for diclofenac sodium.

        Bacillus cereus KCTC 3674 produced at least two kinds of extracellular proteases. Two major bands of the protease activity with molecular weights of approximately 100 and 38 kDa were obtained after gelatin-SDS-PAGE. The production of extracellular proteases occurred during the logarithmic growth phase and was greatest when cultures reached the stationary growth phase. On the other hand, the growth of B. cereus KCTC 3674 and the production of its extracellular proteases were severely inhibited by the addition of protonophore carbonylcyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP). Thus, it was concluded that the growth of B. cereus KCTC 3674 and the production of its extracellular pretenses were strongly affected by a H+ electrochemical potential.

      • 인공 건조법에 의한 마른 명태의 품질 개선에 관한 연구 : 2. Some Methods for Hot-air Dehydration of Alaska Pollack 2. 열풍 건조법에 의한 마른 명태 제조

        북양명태를 원료로서 마른명태를 가공하는 실험을 하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 원료를 해동하여 내장을 제거하고, 그대로 29시간 열풍건조하여 마른명태를 가공할 수 있었으며, 제품의 수율은 22% 수분은 18%였다. 또한 원료어를 등갈이한 다음 머리, 내장, 흑막을 제거하고, 염장한 다음 22시간 열풍건조하여 건조시간도 단축할 수 있고, 색택도 좋은 제품을 만들 수 있고, 수율은 약 12%였다. 또한 원료어를 fillet로 처리하여 염장한 다음 열풍건조하므로서 건조시간을 더욱 단축할 수 있었고, 포장 및 조리하기에 편리한 제품을 가공할 수 있었다. 제품의 수율은 어체의 크기에 따라 차이가 있어 10∼22%였다. 그리고 채육기로 육을 채취한 다음 과산화수소를 써서 거품을 일어켜 새로운 형태의 다공성인 박층건제품을 가공할 수 있었고, 이 다공성 박층건제품은 흡수성이 좋아 instatant 식품으로 이용 가능하다는 결론을 얻었다. In this paper, some dehydration methods for frozen Alaska Pollack Theragra chalcogramma were studied. The cabinet type drier was used for the study. Samples were dehydrated for appropriate time at the air temperature of 38 to 40℃ under the air stream of 3m/sec. The frozen samples were defrosted, eviscerated, and hot-air dehydrated for 29 hours. The yield of dehydrated product was about 22% and moisture content was 18%. The brine salted samples which were headed, split and skinned were also hot-air dehydrated under the same conditions. This dehydration process could reduce dehydration time. The yield of dehydrated product was about 12% and moisture content was about 20%. For another method, frozen samples were first defrosted, washed thoroughly to remove dirt, slime and scales, and then beheaded, skinned and filleted. The fillet was dehydrated after brine salting. The yield was 10 to 22% and moisture content was 12%. The tissue of these hot-air dehydrated products such as round, split and fillet were very firm and difficult to reconstitute. In order to obtain dehydrated product of agreeable texture, another dehydration process was examined. Chopped meat was dipped in alkaline solution of 0.4% hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes and then agitated for 10 minutes. By these treatment the foamy and emulsified minced meat was spread on a nylon net seated on metal tray, drained, and dehydrated. A better result was obtained by this process comparing with other's. This could be explained for the reason that the process resulted in the meat flake porous by which the meat could be rapidly reconstituted. The texture of the porous meat flake was good for a convenience food.

        일 농촌지역의 우울 증상에 관한 역학연구 -위험요인 및 요인구조분석

        연구목적 : 세계적으로 널리 사용되는 우울증 척도인 the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CES-D)을 이용하여 지역사회 주민의 우울증상의 정도를 평가하고, 우울증상의 위험요인을 분석하고, 한국인에서 우울증상의 요인구조를 알기 위해 본 연구를 실시하였다. 방 법 : 경기도 일 농촌 지역의 30세 이상 주민에 대해 무작위 군집 집락 추출을 실시하였고, 훈련된 면담원들이 가정 방문을 통하여 면접 및 자기보고 검사인 CES-D를 실시하였다. 총 1,315명에서 응답을 하였고 응답율은 59.3%이었다. 결 과 : CES-D에 의한 우울증 점수는 0∼5점이 57%정도를 차지하였고, 평균 점수는 남자 7.8점 여자 9.5점으로 비교적 낮은 편이었다. ANCOVA 분석 결과 비결혼, 저학력, 여성이라는 위험요인은 독립적으로 우울증상을 악화시키는 요인이었으나 연령은 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. CES-D 결과를 요인분석을 시행한 결과 4가지 요인이 추출되었는데 우울증상 및 신체증상이 한 개의 요인으로, 다른 나라에서 보고되지 않는 정서적 고통이 별도의 요인으로 추출되었다. 결 론 : 국내 역학 조사에서도 외국과 유사한 우울점수 및 위험요인이 확인되었으나 우울증의 요인에서는 특이한 요인이 추출되었다. 한국인에 독특한 우울 반응에 관한 추가 연구가 필요하다. Objectives :The rates, correlates, and factor structure of depressive symptoms in a Korean rural sample were examined using Korean version of the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale(CES-D). Methods : Door to door visiting survey was conducted by trained interviewers. A random cluster sample of 1,315 respondents, aged 30 and over completed the CES-D scale along with additional sociodemographic questionnaire. Results : In this sample, mean CES-D score of male and female were 7.8 and 9.5, respectively which were lower than those reported previously. Symptoms of depression were most common among the less educated, non-married and female according to ANCOVA. Age was not a significant risk factor for depressive symptoms. Different factor structures emerged from this sample as compared to other studies using this approach. Somatic symptoms and affective symptoms were combined as one factor and emotional hardship emerged as a separate factor. Conclusion : Symptoms scores and risk factors were similar to the results reported in other countries but unique factor structures were found in this study. Further research is needed about the Korean depressive symptomatology and related areas.
