        이재익,윤일국,이종선,김종완,장준,안정기,송민호,정현용,이헌영,김삼용,김영건 충남대학교 암연구소 1991 癌共同硏究所 硏究誌 Vol.1 No.1

We performed a variety of lymphocyte stimulation tests, delayed hypersensitivity skin tests, and enumeration of several lymphocyte subpopulations in 21 patients with gastric cancer who did not receive any form of anticancer therapy, and in 20 healthy controls. The gastric cancer patients had significantly decreased number and total score of positive reactions in delayed hypersensitivity skin tests compared with the healthy controls. The percent of CD_(4) positive lymphocytes in the gastric cancer patients was significantly decreased compared to the normal control subjects, but it had no correlation with the total score of delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions. The ratio of helper to suppressor cells was lower in the cancer group. The uptake of 3H-thymidine was markedly depressed in cancer patients when stimulated with various mitogens. There was little correlation between any of the stimulation tests and any of the lymphocyte subpopulation proportions to delayed hypersensitivity cutaneous reactions. Optimal proliferative response was found in lymphocytes stimulated with 10 micrograms of concanavalin-A and 10 microgram of phytohemagglutinin. Advanced stage patients had greatly depressed delayed hypersensitivity skin reactions and proliferative responses to mitogens compared with localized diseases. These results suggest that gastric cancer patients have depressed cellular immune functions, which mainly result from the decreased helper cells and defects in functional proliferative response to mitogens. Interleukin-2 and interferon-gamma restored the in vitro proliferative response of lymphocyte in patients with gastric cancer.

The studies on the carried out to investigate the effects of co-culture with cumulus cells and oviduct epithelial cells on the in vitro fertilization and cleavage rate of bovine follicular oocytes, and to determine the optimum thawing temperature and equilibration time of frozen bovine embryos and on survival rate and in vitro developmental rate of bovine embryos. The ovaries were obtained from slaughtered Korean native cows. The follicular oocytes were cultured in TCM-199 medium containing 10 IU/㎖의 PMSG(Sigma, USA), 10 IU/㎖의 hCG, 1 ㎍/㎖의 β-estradiol(Sigma, USA) and 10% FCS(Sigma, USA) for 24-48 hrs in incubator with 5% CO_2 in air at 38.5℃ and then matured oocytes were again cultured for 12-18 hrs with motile capacitated sperm by preincubation of heparin. The bovine embryos following dehydration by cryoprotective agents and a various concentrations of sucrose were directly plunged into liquid nitrogen and thawed in 30℃ water. The results are summarized as followes : 1. The in vitro fertilization and in vitro developmental rates of bovine oocytes co-cultured with cumulus cells in TCM-199 media were 75.0%-76.8% and 17.3%-27.6%, respectively. And in-vitro fertilization rates of cumulus-enclosed oocytes(55.4%) were significantly(p<0.05) higher than cumulus-denuded oocytes(23.1%). 2. The in vitro fertilization and in vitro developmental rates of bovine oocytes co-cultured with 1 ×10^4 cells/㎖, 1 ×10^6 cells/㎖, 1 ×10^8 cells/㎖ and 1 ×10^15 cells/㎖ oviduct epithelial cells in TCM-199 media were 74.5%-77.8% and 15.7%-21.2%, respectively. 3. The in-vitro fertilization and in vitro developmental rates of bovine oocytes co-cultured in TCM-199 media containing PMSG, hCG, PMSG + hCG, PMSG + β-estradiol, hCG + β-estradiol 0 to 40 hrs after insemination were 74.0%-77.4% and 18.9% - 23.1, respectively. 4. The survival rates of bovine embryos thawed after rapid freezing in the media containing various kinds of cryoprotective agents added 0.25M and 0.50M sucrose were 14.7% - 35.1% and 17.6% - 31.6%, respectively. The survival rates of bovine embryos thawed after rapid freezing in the freezing media containing a various concentration of sucrose added 1.5M and 2.0M glycerol, 1.5M and 2.0M DMSO, and 1.5M and 2.0M propanediol were 23.5% -31.4% and 20.6% - 34.1%, respectively. 5. The temperature thawed at 30℃ after rapid freezing of bovine embryos resulted in a significantly higher embryos survival rate than did at 20℃ and 35℃. 6. The equilibration time on the survival rates of bovine embryos was attained after short period of time(2.5-5 min.) in the freezing medium higher than ling period of time(10-20min.).

        이종헌 대구효성가톨릭대학교 1995 연구논문집 Vol.50 No.1

Most people begin to smoke in their teenage years, emulating parents or celebrities who smoke. Teenagers also smoke to attain acceptance in their peer group. About half of the people who experiment with smoking continue the habit into adulthood. There must be some very compelling reasons that peo;oe continue to smoke despite the unpleasant taste, the initial adverse physiological reactions to smoke and nicotine, and the knowledge-now widespread-that tobacco smoke can cause serious, even life-threatening, illness. The reasnns peopoe give for smoking are many and varied. The motivation of smokers can be group into four general categories: 1. Pleasurable relaxation-X3,X9 2. Reducing negative feelings(crutch)-X4,X10,X16 3. Craving-X5,X17 4. Habit-X6,X12,X8

Factor analysis is a statistical techique used to identify a relatively small number of factors that can be used to represent relationships among sets of many interrelated variables. Before examining the mechanics of a factor analysis solution, let's consider the characteristics of a successful factor analysis. One goal is to represent relationships among sets of variables parsimoniously. That is, we would like to explain the obaerved correlations using as few factors as possible. If many factors needed, little simplification or summarization occurs. We would also like the factors to be meaningful. A good factor solution is both simple and interpretable. 1. Initial statistics The proportion of variance accounted for by the common factors, or the communality of variable, is I for all the variables, as how in initial statistics. The total variance explained by each factor is listed in the column labeled Eigenvalue. The next columm contains the percentage of the total variance attributable to each factor. For example, initial statistics shows that almost 57.4% of the total variance is attributable to the first 7 factors. The remaining 13 factors together account for only 43.6% of the variance. One criterion suggests that only factors that account for variance greater than I(the eigenvalue is greater than I)should be included. Initial statistics : Variable Communality * Factor Eigenvalue Pct of Var Cum Pct A1 1.00000 * 1 3.33974 16.7 16.7 A2 1.00000 * 2 1.60573 8.0 24.7 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Factor Matrix Each row of Factor Matrix contains the coefficients used to express a standardized variable in terms of the factors. To judge how well the seven-factor model describes the original variables, we can compute the proportion of the variance of each vartables explained by the seven-factor model. Since the factors are uncorrelated, the total proportion of variance explained is just the sum of the variance proportions explained by each factor. The communalities for the variables are shown in final statistics, together with the percentage of variance accounted for by each of the reained factors. Communalities can range from 0 to 1, with 0 indicating that the common factors explain nono of the variance, and 1 indicating that all the variance is explained by the common factors. For example, final statistics show that communalities can range from 0.37997 to 0.76682. Variables A5, A6, A7 are highly related to Factor 2. Variables A17, A18 are highly related to Factor 3. Variables A14, A15 are highly related to Factor 4. 404 nurses and nurse-aids rated their experiences of 45 symptoms(Moos' Menstrual Distress Questionnaire) of the menstrual, premenstrual and intermenstrual phase on a 4 point scale separately. The 45 symptoms were inter-related and factor analyzed separately for each phase. six common clusters of symptoms emerged from 3 phases, which were labeled concentration, motor tension, pain, pleasurable affect, autonomic reactions and water retention. Four clusters of symptoms emerged from premenstrual phase. These clusters were labeled instabillity, withdrwal reactions, depression and headache. The factor named unpleasurable affect emerged from intermenstrual and menstrual phase. Above findings were differed from the results of Moos' study in which eight basically replicated clusters of symptoms emerged from three phases. Through discussion of validity of this scale, and differences between results of Moos' and this study, we came to the conclusion that sampling of subjects, prospective longitudinal symptoms reporting, amount of variance in a symptom over the course of menstrual cycle and proper choice of factor analysis method would be salient variables to construct valid scale for measuring menstrual cycle symptoms.
