데이터베이스가 DTD를 가지는 valid XML을 관리하기 위해서는 XML 문서를 변경하는 트랜잭션들에 대한변경 유효성을 검사할 수 있는 메커니즘이 필요하게 된다. 그리고 이러한 유효성의 검증 범위는 유효성을 검증하기 위해 필요한 정보를 담고 있는 노드들을 나타낸다고 할 수 있는데 이것은 유효성 검증이 올바르게 수행되기 위해서는 검증 범위에 속하는 데이터 아이템들이 다른 트랜잭션들에 의해서 변경되지 않도록 보장하는 병행수행 제어 기법이 필요하다는 것을 의미하며 이를 위해 유효성과 병행수행에 대한 낙관적 처리 기법이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 충돌 탐지와 같은 검증 범위에서의 유효성 검사를 통해 변경 연산의 트랜잭션들의 병행수행 성능을 향상시키는 기법을 제안하고 기존연구의 유효성 검증과 충돌 탐지 기법을 비교, 분석한다.

We performed a variety of lymphocyte stimulation tests, delayed hypersensitivity skin tests, and enumeration of several lymphocyte subpopulations in 21 patients with gastric cancer who did not receive any form of anticancer therapy, and in 20 healthy controls. The gastric cancer patients had significantly decreased number and total score of positive reactions in delayed hypersensitivity skin tests compared with the healthy controls. The percent of CD_(4) positive lymphocytes in the gastric cancer patients was significantly decreased compared to the normal control subjects, but it had no correlation with the total score of delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions. The ratio of helper to suppressor cells was lower in the cancer group. The uptake of 3H-thymidine was markedly depressed in cancer patients when stimulated with various mitogens. There was little correlation between any of the stimulation tests and any of the lymphocyte subpopulation proportions to delayed hypersensitivity cutaneous reactions. Optimal proliferative response was found in lymphocytes stimulated with 10 micrograms of concanavalin-A and 10 microgram of phytohemagglutinin. Advanced stage patients had greatly depressed delayed hypersensitivity skin reactions and proliferative responses to mitogens compared with localized diseases. These results suggest that gastric cancer patients have depressed cellular immune functions, which mainly result from the decreased helper cells and defects in functional proliferative response to mitogens. Interleukin-2 and interferon-gamma restored the in vitro proliferative response of lymphocyte in patients with gastric cancer.

Bone marrow cells from approximately 90% of patients who have clinically typical CML contain the ph^1 chromosome, identified by Rowley(1973) as the reciprocal translocation between the between long arm segment of chromosome 22 and the long arm of chromosome 9. In a recent review of CML patients, the 9 ; 22 translocation was identified in 92%, however variant translocations have been discovered in addition to the typical t(9 ; 22). These were thought to be of two kinds ; one appeared to be a simple translocation involving No. 22 and some chromosome other than No. 9(about 4%), and the other was a complex translocation involving three or more different chromosomes, two of which were No. 9 and No. 22 (about 4%). Recently, the authors experienced two cases of variant translocations in CML patients, one is simple translocation t(17 ; 22), the other is complex translocation t(1 ; 19 ; 22). So we report these cases with brief of literature.
백혈병 세포주에 대한 Biological Response Modifiers의 항암제 세포독성 증강효과

To investigate the possibility of increased cytotoxicity of anticancer drugs, we treated human leukemia cells with combinations of anticancer drugs and biological response modifiers(BRMs). Using the colorimetric [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] (MTT) assay, we evaluated the chemosensitivity of 8 anticancer drugs (vincristine, vinblastine, adriamycin, cisplatin, etoposide, cytosine arabinoside, bleomycin, and cyclophosphamide), and the anticancer effects of 3 BRMs(interleukin-2, alpha interferon, and gamma interferon) combined with these anticancer drugs against human leukemia HL-60 and KG-l cells. The results were as follows; in the chemosensitivity of 8 anticancer drugs, VCR, VBL, ADR, and CPDD were effective, while VP-l6, ara-C, Bleo, and CYC produced less than 50% inhibition of HL-60 and KG-l cells lines. Among 3 BRMs investigated, all of them showed less than 20% inhibition of KG-l cell lines and none were effective against HL-60 cells. In the anticancer effects of 3 BRMs, all of them showed about 20% inhibitory effects against KG-l cells, but there were not any effects against HL-60 cells. All of the anticancer drugs markedly increased cytotoxic effects when they were combined with BRM. Especially, the ID_50 values of VCR, VBL and ADR when combined with BRMs decreased to 67~3%. These results demonstrate that some BRMs can markedly increase the cytotoxicity of VCR, VBL, ADR, CPDD, VP-l6, ara-C, Bleo, and CYC and suggest possible clinical usefulwess.
유효한 XML 환경에서의 효율적인 갱신 충돌 탐지 기법

XML 전용 데이터베이스 시스템의 등장 및 갱신 연산 지원되면서 갱신 연산의 유효성 검사 및 효율적인 갱신 연산의 충돌 감지 기법의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 필요성은 잘 정형화된 XML 문서와는 달리 스키마의 제약사항을 준수해야 하는 유효한 XML 문서 환경에서 절실히 요구된다. 특히, 효율적인 갱신 연산의 충돌 탐지 기법은 질의 컴파일러의 질의 최적화 및 트랜잭션 관리의 높은 병행수행 목적을 달성하는데 필수적인 요소이다. 본 논문은 판독-갱신 및 갱신-갱신 연산 사이의 충돌을 정의하고, 유효한 XML 환경에서 효율적으로 충돌을 감지하는 기법을 제안한다.
