        This paper was carried out to analyze the variation of composition of seed oil with storage periods. Difference of content of crude fat in fresh-cut seed and one year storage seed is not detected but in pentadecanoic acid, acid value, iodine value and peroxide value in one year storage seed have lower than those of the fresh-cut seed. Linoleic acid and oleic acid were high among of total fatty acid in fresh-cut seed but moiety of linolenic acid and icosanoic acid was low otherwise that of palmitic acid and oleic acid is increased in one year storge. In neutral lipid, capric and mytistic acid were high in fresh-cut, oleic acid, palmitic acid and linoleic acid were increased after one year storge. In glycolipid, the lauric acid and linoleic acid were high in fresh-cut seed, the palmitic acid was increased, otherwise, linolenic acid was decreased after one year storge. In phospholipid, palmitic acid and unknown part were high in fresh-cut seed, palmitic acid, oleic acid and linolenic acid were increased after one year storge.

        금 합금 보철물의 교합면 삭제로 인한 임플란트-골 계면으로의 열전달에 관한 연구

        연구 목적: 임플란트-골 계면에서 발생하는 과도한 열은 골유착을 저해하여 임플란트의 실패를 유발한다. 이에 이번 연구에서는 임플란트 금 합금 보철물의 교합면 삭제시 임플란트-골 계면으로의 열전달 양상과 냉각 방식의 효율성을 알아 보고자 하였다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 온도 감지 장치 제작을 위하여 Internal cone 연결형태의 임플란트에 16개의K형 열전대를 부착하여 아크릴릭 레진에 포매하였다. 치과용 금 합금과 주조용 abutment를 사용하여 교합면에 3개의 요철을 가지는 시편을 10개 제작하였고, 연결 나사를 이용하여 임플란트와 연결한 뒤 온도 감지 장치를 37℃로 유지되는 수조에 위치시켰다. 저속 핸드피스와 green stone bur를 이용하여 30초 동안 보철물의 요철을 삭제하였는데, 무냉각군, 공기 냉각 군, 물 분사 냉각 군으로 나누어 요철을 삭제하였다. 보철물이 삭제 되는 동안 임플란트의 부위별로 온도가 0.05초 간격으로 기록되었고, 삭제를 멈춘 뒤에도 무 냉각 군의 경우 임계 온도인 47℃ 이하로 온도가 하강할 때까지, 공기 냉각군과 물 분사 냉각군의 경우 삭제 중단 후 30초 동안 추가로 온도를 기록하였다. 냉각 방식에 따른 임플란트-골 계면의 온도를 알아보고, 임플란트의 부위별 온도변화의 유의차를 알아보기 위하여 one-way ANOVA를 실시하였고, Turkey HSD 이용하여 95% 유의수준에서 사후 검증하였다. 결과: 무 냉각 군은 임플란트-골 계면의 온도가 47℃ 이상으로 상승하였으며, 임플란트의 경부에서 유의하게 높은 열이 측정되었다(P>.05). 공기냉각군과 물분사 냉각군은 임플란트-골 계면의 온도가 47℃ 이하로 유지되었다. 무 냉각 군에서 임플란트 경부의 온도가 47℃에 도달되는 데는 약 10.8 ± 1.5초가 소요되었다. 공기 냉각 군과 물 분사 냉각 군 사이에서는 임플란트-골 계면 온도의 유의차가 없었다(P>.05) 결론: 이상의 결과로부터 임플란트 금 합금 보철물의 교합면 삭제 시, 임플란트 주위 조직에 위해를 가할 수 있는 임계 온도 이상의 열이 발생했음을 알 수 있었으며, 냉각방식은 공기 냉각과 물 분사 냉각 모두 효과적이라고 생각된다. PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to analyze temperature change along the implant-bone interface induced by grinding the occlusal surface of implant gold prosthesis and to compare the temperature generated by grinding of prosthesis with different cooling methods. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The experimental gold prostheses were fabricated with dental gold alloy and castable abutment. The prostheses had 3 cylindrical protrusions on the occlusal surface with 1mm in height. Temperature was measured using 16 thermocouple wires attached to the implant fixture surface and the fixture was embedded in an acrylic resin block inside the 37℃ water bath. Cylinders were grinded for a period of 30 second with a low-speed handpiece with green stone point. One cylindrical protrusion was grinded without cooling, the second one was grinded with air blow, and the third one was grinded with water-spray. RESULTS. The mean maximum temperature was measured more than 47℃ of the implant and the maximum temperature was measured at the cervical portion of the implant in the group without cooling. There was statistically significant difference between the group without cooling and the groups with cooling (P<.05). However, there was no significant difference at all portion of implant in the groups with cooling (P>.05). CONCLUSION. The results of this study support that the grinding of implant gold prosthesis without cooling may damage the peri-implant tissue. The continuous use of air blow and water-spray adjacent to prosthesis during the grinding of implant gold prosthesis may prove to be beneficial for cooling of the implant.

        There are 186 kinds of Kimchi and related products in Korea based on the data published in the period of 11 years from 1976 to 1987. Among which, the varieties of Kimchi which are prepared by Chinese cabbage and other leafy vegetables are 106. And that of Kagdugi and Tongchimi which are prepared by raddish are 26. The products based on chinese cabbage such as Tong bae chu kim chi. Possam kimchi and Paek kimchi are prepared by Chinese cabbage, salt, red pepper, garlic, ginger, welsh onion and water cress as main ingredient and other subsidiary ingredients. Other products based on raddish such as Kagdugi and Tongchimi are prepared by the same ingredients as Chinese Cabbage kimci but the kinds of subsidiary ingredients are smaller than that of Chinese Cabbage Kimchi. Other products such as Yulmu kimchi and Oisobaki were, also, discussed.

      • 한약재로부터 대장균 O-157에 대한 항균물질의 검색

        한약 처방 76종과 58종의 약재로 각 균주에 대한 항미생물 활성을 디스크 확산법으로 검색한 겨로가 처방에서는 삼소음과 주중황연탕이, 한약재에서는 소목과 황연이 열수와 메탄올 추출물이 모든 균주에 대해 항균 활성이 강한 것으로 검색되었다. 한약처방 76종에서 각 균주에 대해 항균활성이 강한 삼소음과 주증황연탕 추출물의 최소억제농도 실험 결과 삼소음 메탄올 추출물의 최소억제농도는 S. aureus 균주가 0.07 ㎎/㎖로 가장 낮게 나타났고, S. sonnel, S. flexnery, S. typhi는 0.31 ㎎/㎖를 나타냈으며, E. coli O157(V1+V2)와 E. coli O-157(none)에서는 각각 2.5 ㎎/㎖, 1.25 ㎎/㎖로 나타냈다. 주증황연탕 추출물의 최소억제농도는 S. aureus에서 0.01 ㎎/㎖로 가장 낮게 나타났으며, S. sonnei, S. flexnery, S. typhi에서는 각각 0.15 ㎎/㎖, 0.07 ㎎/㎖, 0.31 ㎎/㎖를 보였으며, E. coli O-157(V1+V2)과 E. coli O-157(none)은 5.0 ㎎/㎖를 나타냈다. 장내 세균에 대한 58종의 최소억제농도 실험 결과 이중 가장 높은 항균 활성을 타나낸 것은 소목 추출물로 최소억제농도는 E. coli O157(V1+V2)와 E. coli O157(none)에서 1.25 ㎎/㎖, S. aureus와 S. flexnery에서는 각각 0.39 ㎎/㎖, 0.078 ㎎/㎖를 보였으며, S. sonnei와 S. typhi는 0.15 ㎎/㎖를 나타내었다. This study was conducted for screening of antimicrobial compounds from 76 tradihonal prescriptions and 58 medicmal herbs. Among the prescriptions methanol and hot water extracts of Samsou˘m, Chujunghwang-yon'tang, and Sashinhwan showed antimicrobial activity against E. coli and Chujunghwang-yont'ang showed the highest antimicrobial activity. Among the medicmal herbs, hot water and methanol extracts of Terminalia chebula, Caesalpinia Sappan, and Coptis chiriensis showed the highest antimicrobial activity against E. coli 0157, Staphylococcus nureus, Shigella flexnery, Shigella. sonnet, Salmonella. typhi. Prescription such as Samsou˘m, Chujunghwang-yont'ang, and Sashinhwan were also interesting because both methanol and water extracts were active. Chujunghwang-yont'ang showed the most strong antimicrobial activies for the microoganisms tested. Water and methanol extracts of Terminalla chebuln, Caesalpinia Sappan, and Coptis chmensu showed the highest mhibitory effects on the growth of all bacteria tested.

        This paper describes the procedures and results of field surveys on the use of temporary pipe supports as a preliminary research on the estimation of structural performance of the supports. Question surveys and measuring surveys for the supports were performed in 25 construction fields. From the field survey results, the problems and improvement methods in the use of the supports were presented, and the experiment data for the estimation of structural performance of the supports were accumulated.

      • 延伸 및 熱處理한 Nylon6 纖維의 二重 熔融現象에 對한 實驗的 考察

        The thermal analysis of nylon 6 drawn and heat-treated at different draw ratios and temperatures has been carried out using a differential thermal calorimeter(DSC). The origin of double melting peaks in DSC thermogram has been controversial. If double melting peaks were due to the same species, i.e. the recrystallization process, it is expected that the heat of fusion of lower melting peak increases with the drawing temperature. The opposite, in fact, is observed, i.e., higher drawing temperature results in more of the higher melting peak. A single melting peak of the remelting thermograms shows that double melting peaks in drawn nylon 6 are not caused by the original crystal melting and its recrystallization in DSC. It is concluded that the material which shows the higher melting peak of double melting peaks may be morphologically different from that of the lower melting peak.

        The capsaicinoids of Korean red peppers were varied with cultivars from 30 mg% to 257mg%, highest in ˝Chungyang˝and medium in ˝Dabock˝ which is most popular to Korean and major capsicinoids were capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin which are 88.5-94.8% of total capsaicinoids in red peppers. The capsaicinoids of red pepper were distributed 46% in placenta and septum and remainder were in pericarp, seed and stem in the order. The changes in capsaicinoids content of red peppers was not significant during hot-air drying at 65-75℃and sun drying. Fluorescent light was more destructive to capsaicinoids than incandescent light when red pepper powder was exposed to those lights. The larger amount of capsaicinoids was extracted with higher concentration of salt solution, but the water extractability was not affected by pH changes. During storage at 4,25,40℃ for 180 days, capsaicinoids content of red peppers was changed.

        Most persons who become infected with M. tuberculosis mount a protective immune response and remain clinically well, the only evidence of infection being development of a positive tuberculin skin test. Five to 10% develop tuberculosis disease within the first 2 years after infection (primary tuberculosis) or thereafter (reactivation tuberculosis). Acquired resistance against tuberculosis paradigmatically rests on cell-mediated immunity, with the major factors being mononuclear phagocytes and T Lymphocytes. While the former cells act as the principal effectors, the latter ones serve as the predominant inducers of protection. The usefulness of the single dose of BCG routinely given in childhood in many developing countries in preventing far more commonly occurring tuberculosis in adults is in doubt. An effective and safe vaccine against tuberculosis is sorely needed. A subunit vaccine are capable of inducing protective immunity and could have substantial advantages over BCG or other whole-bacterium vaccines. The human promyelocytic cell line HL-60 adopted characteristic macrophage-like properties, including adherence and CD14 expression after a period of continuous culture at high ambient CO_(2) concentration. When HL-60 cells were cultured with 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D_(3) for 4 days, the cells acquired the activity to potentiate T cell proliferation by the 30 kDa or 38 kDa antigen of Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv Therefore, vitamin D-treated HL-60 cells showed the function of the antigen presenting cells.

      • 거대적아구성빈혈의 임상적 고찰

        Megaloblastic anemias are disorders caused by impaired DNA synthesis and chara-cterized by the presence of megaloblastic cells. Clinical data on these disorders in Korea are limited. The aim of this study was to analyze clinical characteristics of megaloblastic anemias caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. We identified 40 cases who were diagnosed as megaloblastic anemia from January 1993 to December 2002 in a retrospective study on the basis of chart review. We investigated the annual distribution of diagnosed patients, clinical manifestations and response to treatment. 19 cases were complicated with a previous total gastrectomy(gastrectomy group) and 21 cases had no history of surgical operation(non-gastrectomy group). The most common presenting complaint was generalized weakness. The median age at diagnosis was 7(range: 38-79) years in non-gastrectomy group. The mean pos-toperative duration was 7(range: 4-25)years in group of total gastrectomy and mean level of serum vitamin B12 was lower than 100 pg/mL in both group. Peripheral blood revealed thrombocy-topenia, macrocytic anemia and hypersegmented neutrophil in all cases. After treatment of pareliteral vitamin B12, Their clinical symptoms and hematologic findings improved except two patients who had bone marrow with lower cellularity. Cobalamin replacement after total gastrectomy is still missing. Diagnoses are made too late in a population of patients, resulting in irreversible neurological sequale, and we suggest that Pernicious anemia seems not to be very rare in Korea.
