This study was conducted to detect the allelopathic effect of water and ethanol extracts from 4 plant species (Lactuca sativa L., Ambrosia elatior L., Oenothenra odorata Jasp., Ginkgo biloba L.) on germination and growth of lettuce seeds. A little bit higher inhibitory effect was obtained in ethanol extracts rather than water extracts. Allelopathic effects varied in the source of extracts and concentrations of 4 plant species and the highest allelopathic effect appeared in 10% solution, regardless of plant species.
APEC 회원국의 지적재산권 보호 수준이 역내 무역에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구
박건영 한국관세학회 2009 관세학회지 Vol.10 No.2
The goal of this research was to analyze the effects of the intellectual property rights(IPRs) protection level in APEC region on the intra-regional trade volume. As the main result, I found that the higher level of IPRs protection of APEC members, the bigger internal and external trade volume. This result means that strengthening of IPRs protection in APEC region will have positive effects on the trade between APEC members. If APEC members want to maximize the positive effects of IPRs protection, they must start discussion on the internal IPRs protection. And, this result has a policy significance to Korea, because APEC members are important export markets of Korea and the IPRs application of Korea grows rapidly.
외국의 지적재산권 보호가 한국의 FDI에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 국가특성과 산업특성을 중심으로
박건영 한국관세학회 2007 관세학회지 Vol.8 No.1
The main purpose of this research is to empirically examine the effects of foreign intellectual property rights(IPRs) protection on the FDI volume of Korea. In the empirical analysis, I have applied the gravity model to the FDI data of Korea from 2001 to 2003, divided by host countries and industries. As the results, I have found that foreign IPRs protection has negative effects on Korea FDI volume, which means that the high level of foreign IPRs protection should not result in increasing Korea FDI volume on average. The effects of IPRs, however, differ with trading partners and industries. Specially, there are the negative effects of IPRs in the FDI of manufacturing industries to developing countries. From these results, I have concluded that the effects of foreign IPRs protection differ with the characteristics of host countries and industries and these differences must be considered in policy related with foreign IPRs.

During the laparoscopic cholecystectomy, the ventilatory and hemodynamic changes could occur due to the peritoneal insufflation of CO_2 as well as the position change. Various sults of the relationship between arterial and end-tidal PCO_2 in different conditions have been reported. The authars studied to determine how closely end-tidal PCO_2 reflects arterial PCO_2 before, during, and after laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Peak inspiratory airway pressures, arterial blood pressures and heart rates were also measured simultaneously. Peritoneal insufflation of CO_2 resulted in significant increase in peak inspiratory airway pressure and arterial blood pressure, but there were no significant changes in heart rates. Arterial and end-tidal PCO_2 increased during laproscopy and, although there was no statistical significance in P_(a-ET)CO_2, P_(a-ET)CO_2 increased during laparoscopy and retumed to perinsufflation level after deflation of CO_2. There was positive correlation between arterial and end-tidal PCO_2 before CO_2 insufflation, 10 minutes after CO_2 insufflation and 10 minutes after deflation of CO_2. However there was no correlation at 30 and 50 minutes after CO_2 insufflation. These results suggested that the arterial PCO_2 could not reflect end-tidal PCO_2 exactly, and intermittent arterial blood gas studies should be warranted during laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

This investigation is about the characteristics of phytoplankton community and physciochemical water quality of specific 6-point the Woon-kog stream system in upsteam of the Andong Lake. DO value was showed over 8.1㎎/L at each site and COD_Mn, BOD, T-N, T-P tend to increase as they stream down and that the existence and dominance of phytoplankton was low and it was difficult to conclude the definite correlation of water quality and phytoplankton community. Finally, it seemed to be desirable that alternatives for pollutional reduction should be made and performed on the basis of the continuous monitoring of the inflow to preserve the Andong Lake.

Background/Aims: The prevalence of gastric polyps, duodenal adenoma and duodenal cancer has been reported as being high among familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) patients, but there have been no reports of this association in Korea. This study evaluated the prevalence of gastric and duodenal polyps and risk factors for duodenal neoplasm in FAP patients in Korea. Methods: We reviewed both initial and follow-up endoscopic results from FAP patients. We also investigated the treatment modality of duodenal adenomas and analyzed the risk factors of duodenal neoplasms by logistic regression analysis. Results: A total of 148 patients with FAP underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), and the fi ndings were as follows: gastric polyp 39.9% (fundic gland polyp 25.7% and gastric adenoma 14.2%), duodenal adenoma 15.5%, gastric cancer 2.7%, and duodenal cancer 0.7%. There were two cases of gastric cancer that developed from benign gastric polyps. There were progressions of duodenal adenomatosis during follow-up, and some degree of relapse occurred after endoscopic resection. Patients with gastric polyps showed a correlation with the occurrence of duodenal neoplasm (odds ratio, 2.814; p=0.024). Conclusions: In Korean FAP patients, gastric cancer was detected more frequently, but fundic gland polyps, duodenal adenoma and duodenal cancer were detected less frequently than in Western patients. FAP patients with gastric polyps should undergo regular EGD, particularly for the early detection of duodenal neoplasia. (Gut Liver 2011;5:46-51)
