        노인의 팔 굽힘/폄 저항 운동 시 하중 증가에 따른 근육의 활성도 및 기여도 분석

        The purpose of this study was to assess activation and contribution of muscles of the elderly according to increased loading during the arm flexion extension resistance exercise. Surface electromyographic signals were acquired from biceps brachii, triceps brachii, deltoid posterior, pectoralis major and latissimmus dorsi to determine the difference of the activation of specific muscles between the elderly and young. Five elderly and five young males with no musculoskeletal disease volunteered for the study. Electromyographic activities in the muscles were measured during resistance exercise and normalized to the maximum EMG activity recorded in the maximal voluntary static contraction (MVC). Against the increased loading during arm flexion/extension resistance exercises, the young uses muscles evenly but the elderly uses one specific muscle frequently. Contribution of triceps brachii during extension and deltoid posterior during flexion was principal in the elderly.

        During a decade, there are many researches on microfactory which is the miniature, flexible, and efficient manufacturing system for the micro/meso scale machining device. Moreover many micro machine tool has developed in Japan, U.S., Europe, and Korea. Already we are developing a desktop milling machine with 380×450×450 ㎣ machine size for microfactory or BT (Bio technology) factory. In this study, we carried out the design analysis of a high speed spindle system for our desktop milling machine by using ADROS, which is our own developed S/W for dynamic design analysis of rotor systems. As the result, we obtained some analyzed dynamic characteristics of a spindle system, such as natural frequency, whirl frequency, critical speed, and harmonic response.

      • Increased 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 contributes to barrier dysfunction in aged skin

        Background: 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD1) converts inactive cortisone into cortisol, an active form, and is expressed by several tissues including the skin. Excessive active glucocorticoid (GC) deteriorates skin barrier function. Objectives: To find out if 11β-HSD1 affects on the barrier function in aged skin. Methods: We have performed human and in vivo studies. We measured cortisol in stratum corneum (SC) and oral epithelium of the elderly and young. Hairless mice were used for 11β-HSD1 immunohistochemistry staining of skin and measuring skin barrier function and serum cytokines. 11β-HSD1 knock-out (KO) mice and its wild-type were used for measuring lipid synthesis related enzyme. Results: Cortisol levels were elevated in SC and oral epithelium of the elderly rather than young. The 11β -HSD1 expression was increased in immunohistochemistry stain of aged mice skin. Aged mice showed decreased transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and SC hydration, and increased SC integrity than young. Serum inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-1α, -4, -10, -31 and tumor necrosis factor-α were increased in aged mice than young. The expressions of lipid synthesis related enzymes in epidermis were elevated in KO mice and topical 11β -HSD1 inhibitor applied mice. Conclusion: 11β-HSD1 expression is elevated in aged skin. It increases active GC and then deteriorates skin barrier function.

      • 한국 재래 나물콩 품종 및 계통의 콩나물 특성

        우수한 특성을 가진 나물콩 품종 육성을 위하여 국내 재래 나물콩 계통의 콩나물 특성을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 공시된 301품종 및 계통의 콩나물 전체길이의 범위는 9.5∼23.0cm, 하배축 길이는 5.9∼15.1cm, 뿌리 길이는 3.2∼9.2cm로 다양한 변이를 보였고, 수율에서도 121∼695%로 다양하게 분포하고 있다. 2. 공시된 301품종 및 계통의 종피색에 따른 콩나물 수율은 혼색종피종에서 409%로 가장 높게 나타났고, 백립중에 따른 콩나물 수율은 소립종일수록 높은 경향이었으며, 잔뿌리수는 흑색종피종과 갈색 종피종에서 현저히 적었다. 3. 콩나물 길이와 전체길이에 대한 뿌리길이의 비율, 수율을 기준으로 한 공시품종 및 계통들의 분포에서 장려품종보다 우수한 특성을 가지는 다수의 재래계통이 분포하고 있었다. 4. 콩나물 하배축의 색도는 백색도(L값)에서 장려품종이 재래계통에 비해 백색에 더 가까웠고, 적색도(a값)와 황색도(c값)는 장려품종보다 재래계통에서 높은 경향이었다. To develop good soybean varieties for sprouts. 285 indigenous lines and 16 recommending varieties were evaluated by the sprout and agronomic characteristics. The range of whole length, hypocotyl length, root length, and yield rate of sprouts was 9.5~23.0cm, 5.9~15.1cm, 3.2~9.2cm, and 121~695%, respectively. Yield rate of sprouts was the highest, 409%, in the lines of mixed seed coat color. At the same time, it was reversely proportional to seed weight : the smaller the seed weight, the higher the yield rate as in all other reports. The number of roots was significantly fewer in the lines of the black and the green seed coat color than others. Based on whole length, rate of root length, and yield rate of sprouts, many indigenous lines were evaluated much better than recommending varieties. In the hypocotyl color of sprouts, the brightness was higher in improved variety than indigenous lines but vice versa in redness and yellowness in general.

        The synthesis and antimicrobial activity of cephalosporin having (Z)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-trityloxyiminoacetamido group and 5-(2-chlorophenyl)-4-phenyl-4H-1, 2, 4-triazol-3-thiomethyl group on the C_3 and C_7 position of the cephem ring, respectively are descrived. This compound was tested for antimicrobial activity in vitro against Candida albicans ATCC 10231, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633, Micrococcus luteus ATCC 9341, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538P, Mycobacterium phlei IIP-IPH, Escherichia coli KCTC 1039, Escherichia coli ESS, Klebisiella pneumoniae KCTC 1560, Salmonella typhymurium TV-119, Pseudomonas aeruginosa IFO 13130. The antimicrobial activity of synthetic compound was better as compare with cefotaxime and cefazoline against Micrococcus luteus ATCC 9341 & Escherichia coli KCTC ESS.

      • GIS를 활용한 초등 사회과 지리교육시스템의 개발

        The purpose of this study is to develop geographic education system(GES) by geographic information system(GIS) in elementary social studies. GES which is developed can make learners construct a meaningful knowledge. The development tool for GIS is MapObject LT 2 and Delphi Enterprise 5.0 as GIS software, and the edited is Auto CAD, Flash, Photo Shop, etc.. This system is divided into 5 parts : that is, ① What is a map? ② digital map that is, Seoul and Busan metropolitan city map, Korean peninsular map, world map, ③ map-maker ,④ report-maker ⑤ game. This system can make learners get more effectively than existing text-based learning because this system offers various data types such as digital map and image map, sound, image and video in each learning screen. Especially, this system maximize learning effectiveness through interaction with learners.

      • GIS을 이용한 釜山市 公共的 土地利用패턴 分析

        This study tries to analyze land use pattern by zoning through urban spatial structure. Land uses in Pusan are mixed using in spite of zoning operation. New residential area is made like a frog leaping to the outer of the City. The efficiency of existing residential area is very low to compare with newly developed area cause of delayed regeneration. Especially the existing built-up area of Pusan in insufficient in adaptability and preparation going with the change of urban spatial structure, particularly with the zoning system. Therefore, detailed and scientific feasible plan should be established to have reasonable residential environment.

        안정기 양극성 장애환자의 얼굴자극에 대한 주의력 유지과제에서의 결핍 특성

        Objectives : Euthymic patients with bipolar disorder have been reported to show deficits in sustained attention. This study aimed to compare the attention capacities of euthymic bipolar patients with those of control subjects using the sustained att-ention to response task (SART) and to examine the differences in the performance of SART related to the type of the stimulus. Methods : The four SART tasks were performed to measure attention capacities in 42 euthymic patients with bipolar dis-order and 28 control subjects. Happy, neutral, fearful faces and digit '3' were used as target stimuli in happy, neutral, fear and digit task conditions, respectively. The seventy of mood symptoms was assessed with 17-item Hamilton Rating Scale for De-pressive symptoms and Young Mania Rating Scale for manic symptoms. The efficiency estimate which reflects both the res-ponse accuracy and speed was used as the main outcome variable. Results : Bipolar patients showed significantly lower correct response rate than control group in all task conditions. Effi-ciency estimates of the bipolar patient group were significantly lower than those of the control group in the SART using facial stimuli, but not in the digit task condition. There was no significant difference in task performances related to the emotional categories of facial stimuli. Conclusion : Bipolar patients showed deficits in sustained attention even in the euthymic state. The attention deficits shownin the euthymic bipolar patients may be prominent in a more complex task condition with stimuli such as facial stimuli.

      • 좌심실비후 환자에서 베타차단제의 급중단이 임상증상 및 좌심기능에 미치는 영향

        목적 : 베타 차단제와 칼슘 길항제의 장기투여로 안정상태에 있는 비후형 심근증이나 고혈압성좌심실비후 환자에서 이들 약제를 갑자기 중단하였을 때 혈역학, 심기능 및 임상상에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 본 연구를 시행하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 경북대학교 병원 순환기내과에서 통원치료중인 비후형 심근중 환자 5명과 심한좌심실비후를 동반한 고혈압 환자 6명(남자 6명, 여자 5명)을 대상으로 장기투여 중이던 베타 차단제와 칼슘 길항제를 최소 5일 중단한 후 임상증상, 혈압 및 심박수의 변동, 그리고 투약중지 전후에 도플러 심초음파도를 기록하여 좌심실내경, 벽두께, 좌심실근량, 구혈율 및 승모판혈류속도곡선의 변화를 관찰하였다. 결과 : 1) 약물치료 중단 후, 베타차단제의 경우 9명 중 6명에서, 그리고 칼슘길항제 및 디소피라미드를 복용하던 각 1명, 도합 7명의 환자에서 심계항진, 호흡곤란의 악화, 흉통이 관찰되었고, 심계항진을 호소한 1예에서는 심방세동이 재발되었다. 2) 혈압, 심박수, 확장말기 및 수축말기 좌심실내경, 심실중격 및 심실후벽 두께, 좌심실근량 및 구혈을 모두는 치료약물 중단 전후에 다소 변화하였으나 유의하지 않았다. 3) E파 최고속도와 E파 시간속도적분은 약물투여 중단 전후에 유의한 변화는 없었으나, A파 최고속도와 A파 시간속도적분은 중단 후에 각각 유의하게 증가하였으며(both P<0.01), E/A 최고속도비와 E/A 시간속도적분비는 각각 유의하게 감소하였다(both P<0.01). 한편, E파 감속시간, 등용이완시간 그리고 A-Ar 간격[A파의 최고점에서 A reversal(Ar)파의 최저점간의 시간] 모두는 중단 후 유의한 변화가 없었다. 1 결론 : 비후형 심근증 이나 고혈압성 좌심실비후 환자에서 장기투여중이던 베타 차단제와 칼슘길항제를 일시적으로 중단하였을 때 임상중상의 악화와 더불어 확장기 기능의 변화를 초래하였다. 따라서 약물치료로 비록 임상적으로 안정상태에 있더라도 치료를 갑자기 중단할 때는 주의해야 할 것으로 생각된다. Objectives : This study was done to evaluate the changes in clinical findings, hemodynamics and cardiac function after abrupt withdrawal of longterm beta-blockers and/or calcium channel blockers in hemodynamically stable patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and left ventricular(LV) hypertrophy associated with hypertension. Methods : Eleven patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(n=5) and LV hypertrophy associated with hypertension(n=6) were studied. Symptom assessment, blood pressure, electrocardiography and echocardiography including pulsed Doppler examination were obtained before and at least 5 days after abrupt cessation of beta-blockers and calcium antagonists. Results : 1) Deterioration in symptoms(i.e. palpitation, aggravation of dyspnea and chest pain) was observed in seven patients after abrupt withdrawal. 2) There were no significant changes in blood pressure, heart rate, end-systolic and end-diastolic LV dimensions, interventricular septal thickness, LV posterior wall thickness, LV mass, and ejection fraction before and after drug withdrawal. 3) Doppler time intervals and E wave peak-velocity and time velocity integral(TVI) were not significantly changed before and after drug withdrawal. But A wave peak-velocity and TVI after abrupt withdrawal were significantly increased(both p<0.01), and E/A peak-velocity ratio and TVI ratio were significantly decreased(both p<0.01). Conclusions : These findings suggest that temporary omission of beta blockers and calcium channel blockers develops deterioration in symptoms and LV diastolic dysfunction in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and LV hypertrophy associated with hypertension. Physicians should avoid abrupt withdrawal of longterm beta blockers in LV hypertrophy.

        두가지 혈류 유발방법에 의한 새로운 심폐소생술(이중 혈류 유발 심폐소생술)장치의 개발

        Background: There have been many efforts to augment blood flow during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These efforts have focused on maximizing the effect of cardiac pump or thoracic pump alone. However, considering that the heart is the biggest blood reservoir and increase of intrathoracic pressure can generate blood flow, simultaneous exploitation of both mechanisms may have synergistic effect. We hypothesized that simultaneous chest constriction in addition to sternal compression by standard CPR may have additive hemodynamic effects by preventing deformation of the chest and increase of intrathoracic pressure. Methods and results: we built a new mechanical device to perform compression and thoracic constriction simultaneously. The device consists of two main elements. Piston in the center is to depress the sternum. Strap is to constrict the thorax circumferentially. Strap is attached to both sides of the piston. When the piston is pushed down, it depresses the sternum and pulls on the thoracic strap. To determine strap width to produce optimal hemodynamic effect, we measured hemodynamic parameters with variable widths of strap in two dogs after induction of ventricular fibrillation. Result of the experiment showed that 10cm wide strap was determined to be most effective. We also determined optimal depth of compression to produce maximal hemodynamic effect with animal experiments using two dogs. Animal experiments showed that the highest aortic pressure could be generated when the stemum was depressed to 5 cm. Cardiopulmonary resusciation using a new device could generate higher systolic aortic pressure, coronary perfusion pressure and end-tidal carbon dioxide tension in comparison with standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a pilot animal study using two dogs. Conclusion: New cardiopulmonary resuscitation method using a mechanical device designed by us could perform sternal compression and simultaneous thoracic constriction, and generate better hemodynamic effects than standard cardiopulmonary resuscitation in pilot animal experiments.
