국내 아메리칸 핏불테리어에서 발생한 열사병 증례 보고

Heat stroke in a dog is a life-threatening syndrome characterized by a high body temperature over $41^{\circ}C$, by the central nervous system dysfunction, and by multiple organ dysfunction. A 11-month-old male American Pit Bull Terrier was presented to clarify the cause of death to diagnostic laboratory. This dog showed clinical signs such as high body temperature ($42^{\circ}C$), severe tachypnea, hematochezia, epistaxis and hemoptysis after transportation at hot summer time. At necropsy, there were hemorrhages in skin, serosa of stomach and small intestine, and also dark red fluid in lumen of intestine. Histopathologic examination revealed extensive hemorrhages in stomach, muscle, skin, and tongue. In microbiology, pathologic bacteria such as Pasteurella, Boedetella, Salmonella, Clostridium, and circulating virus in Korea such as CDV, CIV, CAV, CHV, CCV, CPIV were negative except CPV. There were many gross and microscopic lesions suggesting hest stroke while pathologic agents and related lesions were not detected. Therefore we diagnosed this case as heatstroke.

Wernicke Disease is well known of nutriotional disorders Wernicke Disease is charaterized by ataxia, confusion and oculomotor disturbance. We diagnosis one patient, who has ataxia, confusion and oculomotor disturbance as Jusang(酒傷), and gave saenggangunbi-tang, bojungchiseub-tang and samchulgunbi-tang. We observed that clinical symptom and Liver function were improved by these herbal medicine Therefore We consider Wernicke Disease as Jusang(酒傷) and further reports with many case, however, will be needed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the efficacy of using oriental medical treatment with acute labyrinthitis diagnosed patient.Methods : We experienced one case of acute labyrinthitis diagnosed patient treated with oriental medical treatment. To evaluate the results of this treatment, we measured the hearing recovery, decrease of tinnitus and vertigo. Decrease of tinnitus and vertigo was assessed by THI and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS).Results : VAS of tinnitus decreased from 1.5 to 0.2, and vertigo decreased from 2 to 0. THI decreased from 41 to 25.Conclusions : This study suggests that using oriental medical treatment is effective on Acute labyrinthitis.

Local decentralization and administration innovation is the most important problem the government confronted with at the present time. So local government must be follow them. Therefore, local government need to prepare whole process on this. From now on, local government must be develop own innovation model and strategy then, forward with innovation plan classified by step. This study reviewed the significance and necessary of local administration innovation and examined the necessary of level diagnosis of local administration innovation. And We diagnosed administration innovation of C province, then analyzed the result and proposed Altitude plans of administration innovation.

폐쇄성 수면 무호흡증의 수면의 질 평가와 액티그라프의 역할

목 적:활동기록기는 활동도를 기록함으로써 수면과 각성을 판별할 수 있다. 수면다원검사와 달리 활동기록기는 싸고 간편하다. 그러나 뇌파를 포함한 여러 신호를 가지고 수면단계를 판별하는 수면다원검사와 달리 활동기록기는 기술적인 한계를 지니고 있다. 이 연구에서는 대표적 수면장애인 폐쇄성 수면무호흡증 환자에서 활동기록기와 야간수면 다원검사간에 수면변수를 비교하였다. 방 법:2004년 11월부터 2006년 3월까지 서울대학교 병원 수면의학센터에서 수면다원검사와 손목 활동기록법을 동시에 시행한 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 폐쇄성 수면 무호흡증 환자 89명, 폐쇄성 수면 무호흡증과 주기성 사지운동증이 동시에 있는 환자 21명이었다. 결 과:폐쇄성 수면 무호흡증 환자를 호흡장애지수(respiratory disturbance index, RID)에 따라 나누어 분석했을 때 경도(RDI<15), 중등도($15{\leq}RDI$<30) 환자군 및 주기성 사지운동증을 동반한 환자군에서는 활동기록법과 수면다원검사에서 얻어진 총수면시간 및 수면효율에 차이가 없었다. 폐쇄성 수면 무호흡증이 심한($30{\leq}RDI$) 환자에서 는 야간수면다원검사에 비해 활동기록법에서 얻어진 총수면시간이 유의하게 짧고 수면효율은 낮았다. 이들 모두에서 활동기록법과 야간수면다원검사에서 측정된 수면변수간에 유의한 양의 상관성은 관찰되지 않았다. 수면다원검사에서 얻은 총수면시간과 활동기록법에서 얻은 총수면시간의 차이와 호흡장애 지수(RDI)는 양의 상관관계를 보였으며 수면다원검사에서 얻은 수면효율과 활동기록법에서 얻은 수면효율의 차이와 호흡장애 지수(RDI)도 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 결 론:심한 폐쇄성 수면무호흡증 환자에서 활동기록기만으로 수면의 질을 평가해서는 안될 것이다. 경도와 중등도의 무호흡증에서는 활동기록기가 스크린 도구로 도움이 될 것이다. Background: Actigraphy is a reliable and valid method for assessing sleep in normal, healthy populations, but it may be less reliable and valid for detecting disturbed sleep in patients. In this study, we attempted to assess the utility of actigraphy in the estimation of sleep quality in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), a major sleep disorder. Method: We analyzed the data of patients who underwent polysomnography (PSG) and actigraphy simultaneously for one night at the Center for Sleep and Chronobiology, Seoul National University Hospital from November 2004 to March 2006. Eighty-nine subjects with OSAS alone and 21 subjects with OSAS and periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) were included for final data analyses between groups. Polysomnographic and actigraphic data were also compared. Results: In subjects with mild OSAS (RDI<15), modretae ($15{\leq}RDI$<30), and OSAS with PLMD, PSG and actigraphy did not show significant difference in total sleep time and sleep efficiency. However in severe ($30{\leq}RDI$) OSAS subjects, PSG and actigraphy showed significant difference in total sleep time and sleep efficiency. In all patients, no correlations were found between sleep parameters from PSG and from those using actigraphy. Conclusions: We suggest that in severe OSAS patients, PSG is the diagnostic tool. In mild and moderate cases, actigraphy might be used as a screening tool.

IPS (In-Plane Switching)/FFS (Fringe-Field Switching)/PVA (Patterned Vertical Alignment) 광시야각 액정 모드 개발 역사 및 최근 개발 현황

액정 모드 기술은 TFT-LCD의 화질, 공정, 비용을 결정짓는 핵심 기술로 당시 일본에 의해 새로운 개념의 광시야각 액정 모드들이 먼저 개발되었지만 한국의 엔지어들의 노력으로 순수 우리 기술을 개발해 상품화한 것은 돌이켜보면 대단한 일이었다고 본다. 당시 후발 주자인 국내 업계와 학연은 일본의 기술을 배우고 따라잡기 위해 일본어 공부를 하면서 일본어로 된 전문서적을 읽고 학회에서 일본 연구자들에 자존심을 버리고 끊임없는 질문으로 기술을 배웠다. 이러한 상황에서도 삼성의 연구자들은 당시 MTA보다 한 단계 향상된 PVA 모드를 개발해 세계 최초의 30인치 TV에 적용시켜 상용화했을 뿐만 아니라 엘지디스플레이의 연구자들은 IPS 기술을 발전시켜 대형 IPS TV의 세계시장을 주도하였다. 당시 제일 후발주자였던 하이디스 엔지니어들은 FFS란 액정 모드를 개발해 현재 일본 뿐만 아니라 세계의 모든 TFT-LCD 업체가 이 기술을 이용하여 제품을 양산하고 있고 향후에도 미니 LED 기술과 접목하여 고화질 LCD 기술을 주도할 것으로 보인다. 이러한 기술 개발로 액정 기술 분야에서 한국 연구자들이 세계적으로 인정받고 있다고 감히 말할 수 있다. 현재 신개념의 디스플레이 분야에서도 한국이 리드를 하고 있다고 보는데 많은 후배 연구자들이 디스플레이 역사의 한 페이지를 장식할 혁신 기술을 개발하고 있는 것을 응원한다. 마지막으로 필자의 경험을 바탕으로 평가한 각 기술들에 대해 다른 전문가들과 이견이 있을 수도 있음을 명시하며, IPS와 PVA 기술을 직접 개발하지 않은 관계로 더 많은 내용을 세밀하게 기술하지 못한 점 송구하게 생각한다. 위 액정 기술들을 우리나라 디스플레이 기술 20선에 선정해 주신 "한국 디스플레이 기술 20선 선정위원회"에 감사드립니다.

연세대학교 의과대학 편입학 학생들의 GPA 분석

Yonsei University College of Medicine is about to adopt a new admission system in 2009 for postgraduate medical school. in which 4-year college graduates apply to it, instead of applying of high school graduates to undergraduate medical school. For preparing the new system, now, an admission policy is being intensively investigated. In the present admission system in Yonsei College of Medicine, college or university graduates with diverse majors such as pharmacy, biochemistry, engineering, social science and so on other than a medical major can be transferred into the undergraduate medical course when vacancy for enrollment is available. This study was performed to analyze the academic achievement of the transferred students for establishing a new admission system. In this study, the GPAs of 94 medical students transferred for 1998 to 2006 years were analyzed regarding academic and personal background, and compared with those of untrans- ferred medical students. The results showed some features. Particularly, the GPAs of transferred students with t he majors of art and social sciences were not lower than those with the major of natural sciences while transferred students with majors of pharmacy. veterinary science, nursing science, and biotechnology had their high academic achievements during the undergraduate medical courses.

국내(國內) 시판중(市販中)인 일반조제분유와 특수분유의 특성(特性)과 실태연구(實態硏究)

The purpose of this research is that infant artificial feeding products is used in clonic with the study on characteristic, ingredients and indication of geneal and special modified milks. The result is as follows. 1. The main ingredients of four company products-Maeil , Namyang, Pasteur, Aebout is similar but the functional is different 2. General infant formula is divided into 100days, 5-6months, 12months, 24months and 36months out of consideration for growth and development of infant. 3. The indication and sorts of the special infant formula used at a hospital is as follows. PKU-1, PKU-2 formula is available for phenylketonuria. MPA formula is available for propionic acidemia and methylmalonic acidomia. UCD is available for urea cycle disorder Leucine-free formula is available for isovaleric acidemia. Maeil LP is available for hypocalcemia. MCT formula is available for indigestion and malabsorption of fat. BCAA-free formula is available for Maple syrup urine disease. Protein-free formula is available for limit of protein uptake or mixture of peculiar amino acid or higher uptake of mineral, vitamin, calory. Methionine-free formula is available for homocystinuria and hypermethioninemia. Premature infant is available for premature and low birth weight. 4. The special infant formula published in nation is as follows. Maeil soy A, Maeil MF1, Namyang hope doctor and Maeil HA is available for diarrhea. Maeil HA, Maeil HA-21 and Namyang hope allergy is available for hypoallergy. Maeil soy A is available for diarrhea of milk allergy. Maeil MF1 or Namyang hope doctor is available for acute bacterial or viral temporal diarrhea. Maeil HA is available for allergic chronic diarrhea. Maeil HA and Namyang hope allergy as eHP-formula is available for chronic diarrhea for lactose intolerance and milk allergy. PRRSV와 Staphylococcus hyicus 복합감염에 의한 돼지 귀 괴사 증후군 증례 보고

Porcine ear necrosis syndrome is characterized by erosive and ulcerative lesions at the margin or tip of the pinna. Three growing pigs of different ages exhibited retarded growth accompanied by reddening and necrosis of ear prior to death. Gross examination showed reddening, swelling, black discoloration, scaling, and variable-sized yellowish materials and edema in ear cross section. Microscopically, thrombosis, abscess, ulceration, epidermal hyperplasia, and dermal pyogranulomatous inflammation with an intralesional bacterial colony were observed. Staphylococcus hyicus was isolated in all pigs' ears and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus was detected by PCR and immunohistochemistry.

공용공간과 복리시설의 변화를 중심으로 한 프랑스 근대 도시주거의 변천에 관한 연구

Since Mapo Apartment was introduced as a new urban housing type in the early sixties, apartment has been a typical urban housing in our country. In these days, according to various life-styles and new attitudes about the quality of life, apartment has been developed in various types like high rise residential complex and apartments with special themes. This study has been focused on the transition of modem urban housing in France. The origin of a word, apartment, has been defined and history of apartment in French urban life has been analyzed focusing on the common space and community facilities. Representative apartments in the 18th, 19th and 20th century were selected and comparatively analyzed. Especially in the 19th century, urban housing for working class had been a major concern among the communist and the bourgeoisie and has its own characteristics relative to each other. The characteristics shown in the apartment by the communist in France have been followed in the Korean apartments since 1960's, then the recent trends are rapidly changing in the housing market in Korea. Thus, the findings of this study can be very useful to understand the recent changes of diverse housing types in our society and also be very helpful to prospect our urban housing types in the future according to the changes of new lift styles.
