Background and Objectives: Predictive factors of mortality in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients with left ventricular dysfunction were analyzed during 5-year clinical follow-up after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Subjects and Methods: A total of 329 ACS consecutive patients (64.6±11.3 years, 227 males) who underwent PCI from January 2001 to March 2006 were followed for 5 years. All patients had lower than 40% of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Patients were divided into Group I (survived longer than 5-years: n=130, 101 males) and Group II (survived shorter than 5 years: n=199, 126 males). Results: The cumulative survival rate was 88.0% at 1 month, 78.0% at 6 months, 75.0% at 1 year, 67.0% at 2 years, 62.0% at 3 years,57.0% at 4 years and 40% at 5-years. Group II was older (61.6±11.2 years vs. 66.4±11.4 years, p<0.001), and showed higher prevalence of female gender (28.4% vs. 36.7%, p=0.006) and lower LVEF (35.3±5.2 vs. 33.6±5.6) than Group I. The independent predictors for mortality were LVEF <30% {odds ratio (OR)=1.793, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.234-2.452, p=0.002 }, serum creatinine >3.0 mg/dL (OR=2.455,95% CI: 1.306-4.614, p=0.005), older than 65 years (OR=1.594, 95% CI: 1.152-2.206, p=0.005), and female gender (OR=1.524, 95% CI:1.090-2.130, p=0.014). Conclusion: Five-year survival rate was 40% in ACS patients with left ventricular dysfunction, and the predictors for mortality were low LVEF, high serum creatinine, old age, and female gender.

Zipeprol dihydrochloride is a non-opioid mucolytic, antitussive agent and it is frequently prescribed for respiratory symptoms such as cough and sputum. The main pharmacologic mechanisms of zipeprol are inhibition of superior laryngeal nerve stimulation and direct antagonism for stimulation of the bronchial receptors, which might have an effect for the drug's mucolytic action. Many cases of drug abuse with zipeprol have occurred world-wide due to the hallucinogenic effect of the drug. In Korea, zipeprol was reported to be the most commonly abused drug among young people for the 1990s. Zipeprol associated death was first reported since 1991 and 69 cases of death related to zipeprol abuse were further reported during 8 years (between 1991 and 1998). In addition to the hallucinogenic effect, dyspnea, extrapyramidal symptoms, seizure, cerebral edema have been reported as the signs and symptoms of toxic zipeprol overdose. However, zipeprol abuse is not common for old age people and non drug abusers. We report here on a fatal case of acute zipeprol poisoning in an eighty five year old drug addicted woman.

한국재래산양의 임신60, 90, 105, 120일령 태아 및 신생아의 뇌를 대상으로 면역조직화학적방법을 통하여 면역반응을 나타낸 방사아교세포를 투과전자현미경적 방법을 이용하여 그 미세구조를 연구한 결과 임신 60일령 태아의 방사아교면역반응세포는 소수의 사립체와 많은 당원질 및 과립형질내세망이 관찰되었으며 임신90일령 태아 이후에서도 소수의 사립체, 많은 당원질 그리고 소수의 형질내세망이 관찰되었으며 임신95일령 태아에서 골지체가 관찰되었다. 그리고 임신 120일령에서 혈관에 부착되어 종말발을 뻗고 있는 GFAP 면역반응세포를 관찰할 수 있었다. This study, the ultrastructure of radial glial cells in the fetuses (the 60th, 90th, 105th 120th of gestation) and neonate brains of korean native goat were investigated by immunohistochemical method and transmisson electron microscopy. 1. In the 60th day of gestation, mitochondria and many glycogen body were observed in the radial glial cells. 2. In the 90th day of gestation, mitochondria, many glycogen body and rough endoplasmic reticulum were observed. 3. In the 95th day of gestation, Golgi's apparatus was found. 4. In the 120th day of gestation, Endfeets of radial glial cell attached vessel wall were observed.

N/A The efforts which increase the strength of the auto-body structure and decrease its weight lead to develop a new concept of part production systems, such as Post-Form Strengthening by induction heat treatment. In this study, several cold and hot-rolled sheet steels were used to find out optimum induction heat treatment conditions. After induction heat treatment, strength of heat-treated sheet steels was increased significantly compared with that of as-rolled steels. From these results, auto-body structure which has more light and safe has been made by using this induction hardening method.
초활성점토광물 분말의 특성과 미생물 증식에 미치는 영향

This paper is to study the characteristics of super activated material series(SAMs) powders and their influence on the lethality and multiplication of microbes. SAMs are composed of lime powder up to 95.5%, most of which are minerals of 400 mesh. In them, CaO is 774.16 ppm, P2O5 374.25 ppm, SiO2 62.37% while Pb, Cd, Hg and As were not found. According to the observation with the scanning electron microscope(SEM), they had a sheet structure without air pores. They showed no smell, flavor and elution of color. Average radiation rate of far-infrared rays was 0.93 μm, and average radiation energy of far-infrared was 3.74×102 W/m2/μm. When A. niger was cultured on the SAMs culture medium, it showed 100% sterilizing power in a week and on. E. coli showed 86.1% reduction on the SAMs medium; P. aeruginous 82.7%. In the water tank medium to which SAMs were added by 5 g/L, the surviving population of Cochlodinium polykrikoides decreased from initial 53% to 20%; In the medium by 10 g/L, it reduced from 60% to 10%. In the medium for A. niger to which 0.05-0.3% SAMs were added, its pH was from 6.6 to 4.4 after 24-48 hours, showing that it became lower according to the concentration of SAMs. The multiplication of cells increased according to the concentration of SAMs. pH of L. acidophilus culture medium added with 0.25-0.3% SAMs decreased from initial 6.6 to 5-4.9 after cultivation of 24-48 hours. But, in the medium of 0-0.1% SAMs, pH increased after 24 hours. The number of cells increased according to the concentration of SAMs. In the 0.5% SAMs medium, pH of Agrobacterium sp. changed from initial 6.09 to 6.55. The measurement of cell mass O.D. increased to 18.65 at 0.5% SAMs medium when compared with that at 0% medium. When the concentration of SAMs was 0%, the dry cell weight was 2.55 g/L. But when the concentration was 0.5%, it increased to 6.80 g/L. The production of polymer curdian was not influenced by SAMs concentration.

Domestic SAMs (super activated material series) were added by 0.8% to the feed of 24 pigs in order to study the component change of excretion, the reduction effect of malodorous substances, and the change of meatiness. P, Zn, Mn, and organic components out of excrement components were decreased. Valeraldehyde, a highly malodorous substance, and methyl isobutyl ketone were decreased by 58% and 39%, respectively. As for the characteristics of meatiness, in the group with addition of 0.8% SAMs, all of the brightness, red index, and yellow index tended to increase in comparison with those of control group. As for the dressed carcass, the effect of 0.8% SAMs addition on the growth (weight increase and feed conversion rate) was insignificant. The concentration of immunoglobulin G in the blood of growing piglets was increased from the range of 25 to 50% in the 11th week to the range of 40 to 60% in the 16th week, and the number of lymphocytes started to increase from the 5th week and increased by 18% in the 16th week. There existed preventive effects on respiratory disease and viral syndrome, which often generate in growing pigs. The results above indicate that the addition of SAMs to pig feeds is expected to decrease the amount of such an environmental pollutant excretion as P out of excrement and to have a positive influence on the immunity enhancement and growth rate.
국내 소규모 건축물의 하자 예방을 위한 시방서 개발방향에 관한 연구

In this study, the development direction of specification specialized for small-sized buildings was proposed to develop measures to prevent defects and improve quality of small-sized buildings that are being built or remodeled. This is in accordance with the continuously increasing trend of small-sized buildings in the construction market. Canadian specifications used for large-sized buildings and small-sized building were chosen for comparative analysis, since its components are most similar to those in Korea. The features of small-sized building specifications were derived based on the construction classification and specification code contents. Additional improvement was proposed using the ‘General requirements for small-sized buildings (in Korea)’ as an outline. And the series of processes and results were synthesized and the ‘Application plan of domestic small-sized building specifications’ was prepared. In addition, the relevant literature was investigated and linked to reflect the visualization of specifications, and the ‘Development direction of small-sized building guide specification’ was established by compiling these results.
