In this study, numerical method, stage stacking method based on the result of numerical method and scaled stage stacking method have been applied to predict the performance of a multi-stage axial compressor with inlet guide vane. The results obtained through three different methods for off-design conditions were compared with performance test data. And the effect the angle of variable inlet guide vane was also investigated. The three-dimensional numerical simulation has been performed by using flow analysis program, FLUENT™ 6.3 and the performance prediction based on the stage stacking method has been performed with compressor analysis code from NASA.

This study was conducted to investigate the antitoxic component in methanol extract of Houttuynia cordata $T_{HUNB}$. The results were as follows: Generally, detoxication effects by Houttuynia cordata $T_{HUNB}$ methanol extract increased in proportion to the methanol extract concentrations. When 40 mg/kg dosage of Houttuynia cordata $T_{HUNB}$ methanol extract was administrated, it showed the highest antitoxic effects in metallothionein induction. After the methanol extract treatment. Body weights increased in proportion to methanol extract concentrations. However, after 3 weeks, the body weight decreased insignificantly. From the above results, these results suggest that the methanol extract of Houttuynia cordata $T_{HUNB}$ increased metallothionein concentration and decreased the toxicity of cadmium in rats.

This study was conducted to investigate the antitoxic components in the water extract of the roots of Trichosanthes kirilowii (Cucurbitaceae). The results were as follows: Generally, detoxication effects by the water extract of T. kirilowii increased in proportion to the concentrations. Experimental animals were treated with cadmium and T. kirilowii water extract by oral administration. When 40 mg/kg dosage of T. kirilowii extract was administrated it showed the highest antitoxic effects in metallothionein induction. After the water extract treatment, body weights did not increase in proportion to the extract concentrations. These results suggest that T. kirilowii extract increased metallothionein concentration and decreased the toxicity of cadmium in rats. In vitro the antitoxic activity of water extract of T. kirilowii on NIH 3T3 fibroblasts was evaluated by the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide) and SRB (sulforhodamine B protein) assays. The light microscopic study was carried out to observe morphological changes of the treated cells. These results were obtained as follows; The concentration of $10^{-2}\;mg/ml$ of T. kirilowii extract was shown significant antitoxic activity. The number of NIH 3T3 fibroblasts were increased and tend to regenerate. These results suggest that T. kirilowii extract retains a potential antitoxic activity.

본 논문에서는 항공기용 가스터빈의 정상상태 성능 예측 정확도를 향상시키기 위한 성능 모델 보정 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 압축기 성능 맵에서의 보정 유량 및 효율과 이차 유로 유량 등을 조절하여 엔진 모델에서 예측한 결과와 측정데이터가 같아지도록 보정 하였다. 엔진 모델 보정에 사용된 측정 변수는 연료 유량, 엔진 입구 유량, 압축기 출구 온도 및 압력이다. 추력과 엔진 출구의 온도는 보정된 엔진 모델과 측정값과의 차이를 보정회전수에 따른 경험식으로 구성하고 성능 예측에 적용하였다. In the present paper, the performance adaptation for an engine simulation model is investigated to improve the prediction accuracy for an aero gas turbine engine. The corrected mass flow rate and the efficiency of a compressor map, the mass flow rate of secondary air system, and son on are adjusted to match between prediction result and measurement data. Fuel mass flow rate, engine inlet air flow, total pressure and temperature at compressor exit are employed as a adjusting variable. The deviation between the prediction result and the measurement data is correlated as a function of a compressor corrected speed. And the correlation is applied to engine simulations.

분출냉각은 높은 압력과 온도의 가혹한 환경에서 운용되는 고성능 액체로켓과 공기흡입 엔진을 위한 가장 효과적인 냉각방법이다. 분출냉각이 적용되는 경우, 연소기 라이너와 터빈 블레이드/베인은 다공질 벽면을 통과하는 냉각재(공기 또는 연료)뿐만 아니라 차단막으로 작용하는 벽면을 빠져나온 냉각재에 의해 냉각된다. 이러한 냉각기술의 실용화는 가용한 다공질 재료의 부재로 인해 제한을 받아왔다. 그러나 금속결합 기술의 발전으로 확산접합과 식각된 얇은 금속판으로 제작한 Lamilloy<sup>®</sup>와 같은 다층 기공 구조물이 개발되었다. 그리고 또한 경량 세라믹 매트릭스 복합재료가 개발됨에 따라 분출냉각은 근래 고성능 엔진 냉각을 위한 유망 기술로 여겨지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 분출냉각의 최근 연구동향 및 가스터빈, 액체로켓 및 극초음속 비행체 엔진에 이의 적용사례를 고찰하였다. Transpiration cooling is the most effective cooling technique for the high-performance liquid rockets and air-breathing engines operating in aggressive environments with higher pressures and temperatures. When applying transpiration cooling, combustor liners and turbine blades/vanes are cooled by the coolant(air or fuel) passing through their porous walls and also the exit coolant acting as an insulating film. Practical implementation of the cooling technique has been hampered by the limitations of available porous materials. But advances in metal-joining techniques have led to the development of multi-laminate porous structures such as Lamilloy<sup>®</sup> fabricated from several diffusion-bonded, etched metal thin sheets. And also with the availability of lightweight, ceramic matrix composites(CMC), transpiration cooling now seems to be a promising technique for high-performance engine cooling. This paper reviews recent research activities of transpiration cooling and its applications to gas turbines, liquid rockets, and the engines for hypersonic vehicles.

Design of 500W class UMGT(Ultra Micro Gas Turbine) for power generation is conducted. Basic design parameters are obtained by cycle analysis. Off-design performances are predicted by 1D aerodynamic design and 1D performance analysis of compressor and turbine. 3D impellers are designed and 3D performance analysis is carried out to predict the performance characteristics of UMGT. 1D and 3D performance analysis show similar results. Structure analysis is conducted to select materials. Titanium Alloy is proposed for structural stability.
