Interleukin-2 (IL-2) induces T cell proliferation in an autocrine manner and provides a means by which antigen triggered T cells can be clonally expanded in vitro. During the following activation, the activity of IL-2 is mediated by specific high affinity IL-2 binding membrane receptors which are expressed shortly after activation. In this process, a 42 KD-fragment (soluble IL-2R) is continuously cleaved off and circulates as a soluble marker of T lymphocyte activation. Elevated level of soluble IL-2R has been identified in the serum of patients with malignant autoimmune and allergic disorders, systemic parasitic infection, undergoing graft versus host disease, acute or chronic lymphocytic leukemia and HIV-infection. ADA (adenosine deaminase) completes the process of differentiation of T cell and is essential for progression of T cell maturation. Therefore level of ADA is to correlated with magnitude of T cell immune response. The fact that expression of sIL-2R and ADA activity increases in peripheral blood T-lymphocytes of patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis suggests that T cell activation might have a major role in the pathogenesis of pulmonary tuberculosis. In order to evaluate the T cell immune response in pulmonary tuberculosis, we measured the serum concentration of sIL-2R and ADA activity in 17 patients with current pulmonary tuberculosis, 10 chronic inactive pulmonary tuberculosis, 10 as normal controls. (1) Current pulmonary tuberculosis had significantly higher levels of sIL-2R (237.24±95.47)when compared with those of inactive tuberculosis (78.6±11.06). and the control (68.17±15.4) group. (2) ADA activity in current pulmonary tuberculosis was significantly increased (34.41±20.63) when compared with those of inactive tuberculosis (24.7±14.36) and control (17.65± 5.94) group. (3) There was good correlation between sIL-2R concentration and ADA activity in serum in current pulmonary tuberculosis group. (4) sIL-2R concentration and ADA activity was decreased significantly 6 months after anti-tuberculosis drug medication. In conclusion, sIL-2R concentration and ADA activity in serum in current pulmonary tuberculosis group was increased when compared with those of inactive pulmonary tuberculosis and the control group. By the way, T cell mediated immune response was enhanced in current pulmonary tuberculosis, but in inactive chronic pulmonary tuberculosis who had treated by antituberculosis drug medication, the concentration of sIL-2R and ADA activity was nearly normal.

LabVIEW를 이용한 소형 유도전동기의 권선고장 자동진단

In this paper, an auto detection method of stator winding fault of small induction motor is suggested. The Park's vector pattern which is obtained from 3-phase current signal by d-q transforming, is very good to detect winding fault. Comparing the Park's vector pattern of testing motor with its of healthy motor, the Park's vector pattern of fault motor is became an ellipse and the asymmetry is increased by the winding fault serios. So for detecting the dis-symmetry, id-filtered function, Min-value, and Max-value are suggested for auto detecting. Using LabVIEW programing, 3-phase healthy motor and several kind of winding fault motors are tested and the test results are shown that the suggested method can gives us a possibility of an auto detecting winding fault.

The diagnostic requirements were suggested and explained regarding the systems of differentiation of symptoms and signs in the second year study of standardization and unification of the terms and conditions used for diagnosis in oriental medicine. The systems were as follows; - differential diagnosis according to condition of body fluid, differentiation of syndromes according to the state of qi and blood, differential diagnosis according to relative excessiveness or deficiency of yin and yang(氣血陰陽津液辨證) - differentiation of diseases according to pathological changes of the viscera and their interrelation - analyzing and differentiating of febrile diseases in accordance with the theory of the six channels(傷寒辨證) The individual diagnosis pattern was arranged by the diagnostic requirements in the following order : another name(異名), notion of diagnosis pattern, index of differentiation of symptoms and signs(辨證指標), the main point of diagnosis, analysis of diagnosis pattern(證候分析), discrimination of diagnosis pattern(證候鑑別), a way of curing a diseases(治法), prescription(處方), herb in common use(常用藥物), diseases appearing the diagnosis pattern(常見疾病), documents(文獻調査). This study was carried out on the basis of the Chinese documents and references.

라벤더 에탄올 추출물의 피지생성 억제효과

Lavandula vera is indispensable member of the herb family, used for perfumes and potpourri. Androgens have profound effects on the physiology of the sebaceous gland. Sebum is secreted due to the effect of androgen, which starts to be secreted at puberty. Using the human sebocyte cell line SZ95, the author investigated the inhibitory effect of Lavandula vera on the lipid production. Light microscopic finding were examined numerous cytoplasmic lipid droplets SZ95 cells by Oil red staining and lipid droplets were increased markedly by testosterone. On the other hand, combined treatment with Lavandula vera and testosterone resulted in a lower lipid droplets than with testosterone alone in a dose-dependent manner. These findings indicate that Lavandula vera acts antagonistically to testosterone and inhibits the lipid synthesis of SZ95 cells at the cellular level.

정상 인체 멜라닌세포에서 endothelin-1 receptor antagonist가 melanin생성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

In the normal skin, melanocytes maintain their constant population and their melanogenic activity in steady state, but respond to several stimulus such as UV radiation and chemical irritation, to accentuate proliferation and differentiation, leading to hyperpigmentation of the skin. Human Keratinocytes produce and secrete endothelin-1, which can be strong mitogens for human melanocytes. The paracrine linkage of endothelin-1 between keratinocytes and melanocytes suggested that endothelin-1 is intrinsic mediators for human melanocytes in UVB-induced pigmentation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the new whitening agent, which improve the hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the ET-1. So, we add ET-1 and five kinds of ETRA into the cultured normal human melanocyte and then three days later, each ETRA on ET-1 was measured melanocyte number and inhibitory effect of melanin synthesis, respectively. In this study, ETRA has a inhibitory effect on ET-1 induced melanocyte proliferation and melanogenesis. ETRA I has a strong inhibitory effect on melanocyte proliferation and ETRA Ⅱ has a strong inhibitory effect melanogenesis. western blotting results shows negative. It may be due to the processing error of protein denaturing or low antigen -antibody affinity. But, we also confirm that ETRA Ⅱ has a inhibitory effect of tyrosinae synthesis by RT-PCR

자몽종자추출물 분말제재를 첨가한 김치의 저장성 연장

GFSE 분말제재를 절인 배추에 대하여 0.1%, 0.3% 및 0.5%씩 첨가하여 김치를 만들고 10℃에서 숙성하면서 pH, 적정산도, 환원당 함량, 총균수, 젖산균수와 같은 품질 특성을 조사하였다. 숙성 기간이 경과함에 따라 김치의 pH는 감소하였는데, 대구조와 GFSE 분말제재 0.1% 첨가구, 0.3%와 0.5% 첨가구는 서로 비슷한 경향을 나타내었다. 대구조는 숙성 5일의 pH가 4.20으로 김치의 숙성 적기로 판단되는 범위에 도달하였는데, 0.5% 첨가구는 25일게 pH 4.19였다. 적정산도는 김치의 숙성 기간이 경과함에 따라 계속 증가하였으며, 시험기구간의 변화 경향은 pH와 유사하였다. 환원당 함량은 김치의 숙성과 더불어 감소하였으며, 대구조와 GFSE 분말 제재 0.1% 첨가구는 숙성 10일까지 급격히 감소하였고 그 이후에는 큰 변화를 나타내지 않았다. GFSE 분말제재 0.3%, 0.5% 첨가구의 환원당 함량 감소는 비교적 완만하였으며, 숙성 전 기간에 걸쳐서 감소하였다. GFSE 분말제재는 김치의 담금 직후 총균수와 젖산균수를 낮추는 작용을 하였으며, 숙성 기간 중에도 젖산균의 증식을 억제하였다. 특히 GFSE 분말 제재 0.5% 첨가구는 숙성 20일 이후에 젖산균수가 급격하게 줄어들었고, 30일에는 다른 시험구보다 2log(CFU/mL) 이하 낮았다. Grapefruit seed extract powder (GFSEP), which was made with grapefruit seed extract and calcium carbonate, was investigated to retard the fermentation rate. The mixing ratios of GFSEP to salted Chinese cabbage were 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5%. Quality characteristics of kimchi such as pH, titratable acidity, reducing sugar content and microbial loads were measured during fermentation at 10℃. pH and reducing sugar content of control and kimchi sample with 0.1% GFSEP showed decreases until 10 days, and then attained to stabilized levels. Kimchi samples with 0.3% and 0.5% GFSEP maintained a higher pH and reducing sugar content, while microbial load was lower that others. Based on the pH and titratable acidity, kimchi samples with GFSEP prolong the shelf life about 3∼10 days.

Camping實習에 따른 自己槪念의 變化

The major purpose of the present study is to find out how the life in camping has effected the camper's self-concept and also to study the effect of camping. The subjects were 102 students, male and female, participating in the 1983 Kyung-Pook University Camping and 63 students to comparise with them. From this study, the instrument was an inventory Nakasima's "Self-Differential Form A" consisted of a 47-item adjective scale, which was translated into Korean in consideration of our real condition. The main findings of this study are summarized as follows: 1. Prior to and after the camping, I have found out the significant changes of 10 items among 47 items. But a monthe later of camping, the situation has returned to the begining before the camping. 2. These items which have shown significant changes, for example, lazy→dilligent, unfaithful→faithful and etc., were toward desirable attitude in general. 3. In the changes of self-concept in camping, I have found out that the significant changes were linked with factor of firmness, Namely, campers' attitude have changed toward "vigorous and strong attitude direction" rather than reliable, passive or only strong one.

人胎盤絨毛에서의 Placental Lactogen 生成細胞에 對한 免疫組織化學的 및 免疫細胞化學的 硏究

대전에서 연중 태양광선의 UVA와 UVB양에 대한 조사 (예비보고)

Ultraviolet A(355 nm) and ultraviolet B(290 nm) doses were measured at Taejon from March to September, 1993, on four different weather conditions(clear, relatively clear, relatively cloudy and cloudy). And the results were compared with the doses of Kongju area measured in 1985. The followings were the summary of the findings. 1. UVA(1.98± 0.35 × 10 exp(-3) w/㎠) and UVB(17.62+ 5.72 X 10 exp(-6) w/㎠ doses were peak at noon on clear weather. 2. Average doses of UVA(2.36±0.70 × exp(-3) w/㎠) and UVB(24.28±8.83 × exp(-3) w/㎠) were peak at noon in August on clear weather. 3. The doses of UVA and UVB were influenced by yellow sand, fog and other pollutants. 4. The doses of UVA on clear weather in Daejoen were lower than Kongju about 40%, in contrast those of UVB were not different in statistical values.
