음악놀이활동이 부적응적 성향 유아의 사회정서적 행동에 미치는 효과 = (The)effects of music play activities on maladjustive children's social and emotional behaviors

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 음악놀이활동이 부적응적 성향을 가진 유아의 사회정서적 행동에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 목적을 두었다. 구체적으로 음악놀이활동 프로그램을 유아 교육기관의 교육과정과 유아활동에 접목시켜 개발하고, 지금까지 연구되지 못했던 4～5세 부적응적 행동성향 유아들에게 적용하여 부적응 행동, 사회적 특성 및 정서지능에 어떤 효과를 가져 오는지 밝히고자 하였다.
본 연구의 대상은 부산광역시에 소재하는 J, N 두 곳의 유치원에 다니는 4세 유아와 5세 유아 26명으로 실험집단과 통제집단에 13명씩 배치하였다. 이들 유아는 Behar와 Stringfield(1974)의 The Preschool Behavior Questionnaire(PBQ)를 번안한 정영미(1996)의 유아행동부적응 설문지와, 담임 교사의 관찰에서, 공통적으로 부적응적 행동성향을 가졌다고 판정된 유아들이었다.
측정도구는 부적응 행동을 측정하기 위해 The Preschool Behavior Questionnaire(PBQ)를 번안한 정영미(1996)의 유아행동부적응 설문지와 사회적 특성을 측정하기 위한 도구는 The Preschool Adjustment Questionnaire(PAQ)를 번안한 정영미(1996)의 행동적응 설문지였고 정서지능을 측정하기 위한 도구로는 김경희(1998)의 유아용 정서지능 설문지였다. 음악놀이활동 처치는 16회기에 걸쳐 실험집단에 이루어졌으며, 통계적 검증을 위한 분석방법은 중다공변량분석과 이원변량분석이 사용되었다.
본 연구의 결과와 논의를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 성향을 가진 유아의 부적응 행동을 감소시키는데 효과적이며, 이러한 효과는 외현적 문제행동 유아와 내재적 문제행동 유아 모두에게 동일하다. 즉, 음악놀이활동과 그 과정에서 표현된 유아 내면의 스트레스에 대한 상담 등으로 구성된 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 행동 성향을 가지고 있는 유아의 부적응 행동인 적대적이고 공격적인 행동, 불안과 공포, 과잉활동과 산만한 행동 등을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 음악놀이 활동은 부적응적 성향을 가진 유아들의 부적응 행동을 감소시키기 위한 유용한 교육적 방안이 될 수 있다.
둘째, 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 성향을 가진 유아의 사회적 특성을 향상시키는데 효과적이며, 특히 외현적 문제행동 유아보다 내재적 문제행동 유아에 그 효과가 더 크다. 즉, 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 행동성향을 가진 유아들의 친사회적 행동, 긍정적 감정, 또래관계 역량, 자아강도 등을 효과적으로 향상시킬 수 있으며, 특히 적대적이고 공격적인 유아보다 불안이나 공포증을 가진 유아에게 더 효과적이라는것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 성향 유아들 중에서 특히 내재적 문제행동을 가진 유아들의 사회적 특성을 향상시키기 위한 유용한 방안이 될 수 있다.
셋째, 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 성향을 가진 유아의 정서지능을 향상시키는데 효과적이며, 이러한 효과는 외현적 문제행동 유아와 내재적 문제행동 유아 모두에게 동일하다. 즉, 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 행동 성향을 가진 유아의 자기정서의 인식과 표현, 감정조절과 충동억제, 자기정서의 이용, 타인정서의 인식과 배려, 대인관계기술 등을 효과적으로 향상시킬 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 음악놀이활동은 부적응적 성향을 가진 유아들의 정서지능을 향상시키기 위한 유용한 방안이 될 수 있다.
