In an end milling process, the undeformed chip section and cutting forces vary periodically with the phase change of the tool. However, the real undeformed chip section area deviates from the geometrically ideal one owing to the cutter runout and tool shape error. In the current study, a method of estimating the real undeformed chip section area which reflects the cutter runout and tool shape error is presented during up-end milling processes of Inconel 718. The specific cutting forces, K_r and K_t are defined as the radial and tangential cutting forces divided by the modified chip section area, respectively. Both of the K_r and K_t values become smaller as the helix angle increases from 30˚ to 40˚. Whereas they become larger as the helix angle increases from 40˚ to 50˚. The K_r and K_t values show a tendency to decrease with increase of the modified chip section area.

Abstract - In this thesis, we propose a QoS supporting method on wireless ad hoc-based active network for improving reliability. On the loss of route path, the existing DSR routing protocol has several problems with wireless network communication because of decease of data reception rate and increase of network load. The proposed method improves reliability of data transfer by using functions of active network. That is, by using functions of active nodes and active packets, the proposed method supports QoS with reservation transfer method that saves data packets on transfer at intermediate nodes with lost path and then re-transmit the packets after route reconfiguration.

Light-extraction efficiency control in AlGaN-based deep-ultraviolet flip-chip light-emitting diodes: a comparison to InGaN-based visible flip-chip light-emitting diodes.

<P>We study light-extraction efficiency (LEE) of AlGaN-based deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (DUV-LEDs) using flip-chip (FC) devices with varied thickness in remaining sapphire substrate by experimental output power measurement and computational methods using 3-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (3D-FDTD) and Monte Carlo ray-tracing simulations. Light-output power of DUV-FCLEDs compared at a current of 20 mA increases with thicker sapphire, showing higher LEE for an LED with 250-관m-thick sapphire by ~39% than that with 100-관m-thick sapphire. In contrast, LEEs of visible FCLEDs show only marginal improvement with increasing sapphire thickness, that is, ~6% improvement for an LED with 250-관m-thick sapphire. 3D-FDTD simulation reveals a mechanism of enhanced light extraction with various sidewall roughness and thickness in sapphire substrates. Ray tracing simulation examines the light propagation behavior of DUV-FCLED structures. The enhanced output power and higher LEE strongly depends on the sidewall roughness of the sapphire substrate rather than thickness itself. The thickness starts playing a role only when the sapphire sidewalls become rough. The roughened surface of sapphire sidewall during chip-separation process is critical for TM-polarized photons from AlGaN quantum wells to escape in lateral directions before they are absorbed by p-GaN and Au-metal. Furthermore, the ray tracing results show a reasonably good agreement with the experimental result of the LEE.</P>

2003년 국내 중증급성호흡기증후군 진료 현황 및 문제점 분석

목적 : 2002년 말 중국에서 SARS가 발생한 이후 국내에서도 2003년 10월까지 총 3명의 추정환자, 17명의 의심환자가 보고되었다. 향후 추가적인 SARS의 유행이 우려되는 상황에서, 그간의 SARS 환자 진료에 있어서의 실질적인 준비사항, 진료 현황 등에 대한 조사를 통해 문제점을 파악하여, 향후 더 나은 대비가 될 수 있도록 개선점을 제시하고자 하였다. 재료 및 방법 : SARS로 의심되는 환자를 진료 경험이 있는 병원의료진을 대상으로 2003년 10월에 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문에는 SARS 환자 진료 시의 실질적인 조치, 진료 현황, 병실, 응급실 및 외래에서의 격리 시설과 준비사항, 보건당국의 관리와 지원에 관한 사항을 포함하였다. 결과 : 대상이 되는 22개 병원 중 17개(17/22, 77.2%) 병원이 설문에 응하였다. SARS 환자를 위한 격리실은 응급실, 외래, 일반병실 및 중환자실에서 각각 9개(9/17, 52.9%), 5개(5/17, 29.4%), 15개(15/16, 93.7%), 4개(4/16, 25%) 병원에서 음압처리가 되어있지 않은 일인실 혹은 다인실이 사용되었고, 1개(1/16, 6.3%) 병원에서만 일반병실에서 음압격리실이 운영되었다. 입원환자의 진찰 시 개인보호구의 착용은 거의 모든 의료기관에서 이루어졌다. 보건당국에서 SARS지정병원의 시설 등을 사전에 확인한 곳은 1곳(1/12, 8.3%)이였고, 14개 병원(14/15, 93.3%)에서는 보건당국에 의뢰한 검사결과를 통하 받지 못하였다. 결론 : 의료기관에서 SARS 환자용 격리실뿐만 아니라 기존의 격리실 설비 등이 미흡하였으며, 특히 중환자실 및 외래의 준비가 더욱 부족하였다. 보건당국의 의료기관에 대한 종합적인 지원이 부족하였고, 병원과의 원활한 연계가 잘 이루어지지 않았다. SARS 만이 아닌 격리를 필요로 하는 질환의 적절한 진료를 위해 향후 병원 시설의 정비와 정부차원에서의 보다 구체적이고 실질적인 대책마련이 필요하다. Background : There was an worldwide outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) originated from China in late 2002. During that period three cases of suspected SARS and 17 cases of probable SARS were reported in Korea. With the concerns about the reemergence of SARS-coV transmission, it is important to be prepared for any possibility. So, this study is aimed to analysis the past measures in managing SARS and propose the amendatory plans to improve the preparedness. Materials & Methods : Questionnaires were collected among clinicians with any experience in managing the probable or suspected SARS cases in Oct. 2003. 17 out of 22 hospitals responded to the questionnaire. The contents in the questionnaire were practical activities, personal equipments, response plans, isolation facilities in emergency centers, outpatient clinics, general wards and intensive care units, and relationship with the public health department. Results : The dedicated isolation rooms in emergency centers, outpatient clinics, general wards, and intensive care units were prepared in 9 (9/17, 52.9%), 5 (5/17, 29.4%), 15 (15/16, 93.7%), and 4 (4/16, 25.0%) hospitals, respectively. Except for one hospital that newly made negative pressure room for SARS, single or multi-bed rooms without airborne infection control were used in all the other hospitals. The personal precaution principles were kept quite well in general wards. Before the designation of SARS hospital by the public health department prior evalution to see if the hospital was suitable for managing SARS was conducted in only 1 (1/12, 8.3%) hospital. The results of laboratory diagnosis were reported back in 1 (1/15, 6.6%) hospital. Conclusions : The isolation facilities which can control airborne infection were almost deficient not only for SARS but also for other respiratory transmissible diseases. For the infection control of transmissible diseases including SARS, more investment is needed on medical facilities and comprehensive support from the public health department required.

종교개혁 500주년과 갈라디아서에 나타난 개혁사상 - 정류 이상근박사의 갈라디아서 주해를 중심으로 -

본 연구의 목적은 정류 이상근박사(이하 정류)의 갈라디아서 주해에 나타난 개혁사상을 제시하고, 이와 아울러 정류의 개혁사상에 기초하여 `또 하나의 복음인 다른 복음`이 아니라 `하나밖에 없는 참된 복음,` 바울이 전한 복음에 의해서 생성된 믿음으로 이르게 되는 `의`, `아브라함의 복`과 `아브라함의 자손`에 대한 주석을 새롭게 시도하려는 것이다. 바울이 `신앙인의`의 주제를 부각시키지 않을 수 없었던 이유는, 바로 할례라는 항목에서 파생된 공동체의 문제를 간과할 수 없었기 때문이다. 무엇보다도 바울에게는 서신의 집필 당시 `할례`와 갈라디아 공동체 멤버들이 희망하던 `아브라함의 복`의 항목을 격리시키고 오히려 `희생제물`과 `인의`의 항목을 밀접하게 연관시켜서 설명하는 것이 긴요했던 것으로 보인다. 이로 인하여 바울은 창세기 15장 1-6절 단락과 7절 이하 단락을 하나로 연결하여 제시되는 부분을 창세기 저자의 문맥을 그대로 따르는 것이라 할 수 있다. 바울의 경우, 갈라디아 공동체의 정황에서 볼 때, `할례`라는 항목에 맞설 수 있는 것은 믿음과 더불어 주어진 언약의 표지인 저주의 `희생제물`이었다고 할 수 있다. 바울은 `인의`의 주제가 강조될 때 할례는 적어도 그 부분에서 아무런 효력을 발휘할 수 없다는 것을 포착하였던 것으로 볼 수 있다. 바울은 이러한 방식을 통해서 갈라디아 공동체의 멤버들로 하여금 다른 복음에 동조하는 것을 차단하려고 했음을 알 수 있다. 바울의 복음의 특징은 희생제물 되신 예수 그리스도 항목에서 발견하지만(갈 3.1, 13; 참조. 2.20; 1:4, 6), 대적자들의 다른 복음의 특징은 할례와 율법의 행위들 등의 항목과 연관되어 있었다(갈 1:6-9; 2:16, 21). 갈라디아서의 본문단락에서 바울이 아브라함을 이방인들의 조상이라고 강조하는 것은 갈라디아 구성원들인 이방인 크리스천들의 경우 자신들이 아브라함의 자손이라는 정체성에서 흔들리고 있던 정황을 반영한다. 따라서 바울은 그 시점에서 이방인 크리스천들에게 그리스도 안에 있는 그들만이 아브라함의 자손이라는 점을 강조하여 인식시키려 했던 것으로 볼 수 있다. 역으로, 바울이 로마서 4장과는 달리 갈라디아서에서 아브라함의 자손의 대상에서 유대인 크리스천들을 언급할 필요가 없었던 것은 갈라디아 공동체의 구성원들 가운데 유대인 크리스천들이 포함되어 있지 않았기 때문이다. 요컨대 바울은 갈라디아 공동체의 이방인 크리스천들이 아브라함의 자손이라는 정체성에 흔들리고 있는 것을 보고, 그들이 그리스도 예수 안에서 아브라함의 자손 곧, 아브라함이 이방인들의 아버지임을 거듭 강조하여 제시하고 있는 것이다. The purpose of this study is to suggest reformation thoughts in Sangken Lee`s commentary on Galatians and to reinterpret the following concepts based on his reformation thoughts: “the truly one Gospel,” “righteousness,” “the blessings of Abraham,” and “the offspring of Abraham.” The main reason of why Paul stressed a theme of “justification by faith” is because he cannot dismiss the problem related to circumcision in the Galatian community. Paul had to separate “the blessings of Abraham” from “circumcision” and relate this concept with “sacrifice” and “justification.” For Paul, circumcision has no effect when the theme of “justification” is emphasized. Through this way, Paul tried to keep the community members from “another gospel.” The main feature of Paul`s gospel is related to Jesus Christ who becomes a sacrifice (Gal 3:1, 13; cf. 2:20; 1:4,6), but the main feature of “another gospel” is related to circumcision and works of religious laws (Gal 1:6-9; 2:16, 21). In Galatians, Paul emphasizes that Abraham is the ancestor of Gentiles, which reflects the identify crisis of Gentile Christians in the community. Therefore, Paul tried to affirm that only those who reside in Christ are the true offspring of Abraham. Other than Romans chapter 4, in Galatians, Paul does not mention Jewish Christians as the offspring of Abraham because the Galatian community did not include Jewish Christians among their members. To sum up, Paul addressed the identity crisis of Gentile Christians in the Galatian community by declaring that they are the offspring of Abraham in Christ.

임신부의 인플루엔자 백신 접종률 및 관련요인

Background : During seasonal influenza epidemics and previous pandemics, pregnant women have been at increased risk for complications related to influenza infection. Although influenza vaccination has been widely recommended to pregnant women and immunocompromised hosts, the vaccination rate is presumed to be low in pregnant women. This study was aimed to evaluate the vaccination rate and factors associated with Influenza vaccination among pregnant women, who are at high risk for developing complications from the influenza. Materials and Methods : This study was carried out by telephone survey from April, 2007 to August, 2007. Women who were in their second trimester of pregnancy or above,- during October, 2006 and February, 2007, the recommended vaccination period, and had given birth at Inha University Hospital were selected as the study population. Immunization status, general understanding, and factors associated with vaccination were evaluated. Results : Among a total of 506 eligible pregnant women, 227 (44.8%) responded to the questionnaires. The influenza vaccination rate among the pregnant women was only 4% (9/227). Major reasons for not receiving vaccination were first, not awaring the necessity of immunization during pregnancy (48.5%, 110/227) and second, misunderstanding that it is prohibited during pregnancy (36.1%, 82/227). The major factors that influenced the compliance of vaccination were correct understanding and doctor's recommendation on the influenza immunization during pregnancy. Conclusions : The influenza vaccine coverage on pregnant women was very low and the awareness of influenza vaccination during pregnancy in general was inaccurate. Shift in perception is required and this can be achieved by educating the pregnant women on the safety and efficacy of vaccination. In addition, doctors' active encouragement to vaccination is highly recommended.

Sarcomatoid Carcinoma Arising from Mature Cystic Teratoma

Malignant transformation of mature cystic teratoma (MCT) is rare. Sarcomatoid carcinoma is a neoplasm comprising malignant mesenchymal cells and a conventional carcinomatous area. Here, we report on a case of sarcomatoid carcinoma arising from an MCT in the left ovary of a 45-year-old female. A unilocular cyst consistent with MCT was observed; however, a nodule within the cyst was confirmed from the resected ovary. Microscopically, the nodule showed both squamous cell carcinoma and pleomorphic sarcomatous components admixing with each other. Lining epithelial cells at the periphery of the main tumor showed squamous metaplasia. When a sarcomatous component is observed in the ovary tumor, it is important to find a squamous cell component, either benign or malignant.

서울의 Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae 발생빈도(1998)

In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

Objectives The aims of this study are to estimate the prevalence of the DSM-IV psychiatric disorders in the Korean population using the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI), and to compare those with previous studies. Methods The Korean Epidemiologic Catchment Area study Replication (KECA-R) was Conducted between August 2006 and April 2007. The sampling of the subjects was carried out across 12 catchment areas. A multistage, cluster sampling design was adopted. The target Population included all eligible residents aged 181o 64 years. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with the Korean version of Composite International Diagnostic Interview (K-CIDI) based on the DSM-IV (N=6,510, response rate=81.7%). Results A total of 6,510 participants completed the interview. The lifetime and 12-month prevalence rates for all types of DSM-IV disorders were 30.0% and 17.3%, respectively. Those of Specific disorders were as follows : 1) alcohol use disorder, 16.2% and 5.6% ; 2) nicotine use disorder, 9.0% and 6.0% ; 3) specific phobia, 3.8% and 3.4% ; 4) major depressive disorder, 5.6% and 2.5% ; and 5) generalized anxiety disorder, 1.6% and 0.8%. Data relating to nicotine and alcohol use disorder revealed a very high male/female ratio. Mood disorder and anxiety disorder were more prevalent among females than males. Conclusion The prevalence of psychiatric disorders was high. In comparison with other studies, remarkable differences in the distribution of psychiatric disorders across the country and times were observed.
