ABSTRACT In the case of hemodynamically stable broad complex tachycardia, it is essential to evaluate the causes and to diagnose correctly in the selection of appropriate management and drugs. We report two neonates diagnosed with idiopathic ventricular tachycardia, which is extraordinarily rare. One presented with idiopathic fascicular ventricular tachycardia (right bundle branch block pattern with a superior axis), and the other presented with right ventricular outflow tract ventricular tachycardia (left bundle branch block pattern with an inferior axis). These two forms are representative of benign ventricular tachycardia. No features of cardiovascular shock were observed. While the recommended initial drug treatments are different, the conditions were well controlled by propranolol without the development of any adverse events. There was no recurrence of arrhythmia for several months in the outpatient clinic.

Background and Objectives: Benign tumors of the nose and paranasal sinues are rare in comparison with malignant growths. Authors aimed to investigate the incidence and characteristics of benign sino-nasal tumors. Materials and Methods: From 1994 through 2004, 25 cases of benign sino-nasal tumors (17 men and 8 women) were diagnosed and cared at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, College of Medicine, Konkuk University. We reviewed medical records of patients to find out clinical features, radiologic findings, operative findings, therapeutic options, and outcomes. Postoperative observation was given for fifteen months on the average. Results: The most common symptom was nasal obstruction, followed by nasal mass, frequent nasal bleeding, headache, and rhinorrhea, and the mass mainly placed in the lateral nasal wall. There were 12 cases (48%) of inverted papilloma, 4 (16%) cases of squamous papilloma, 4 (16%) cases of hemangioma, 1 (4%) case of pleomorphic adenoma, 1 (4%) case of leiomyoma, 1 (4%) case of lipoma. All the tumors were surgically removed. For the treatment of inverted papilloma, medial maxillectomy had been performed before 1997(2 cases); however, most cases have been managed with endonasal endoscopic technique since 1997. Recurrence was observed in two patients with inverted papilloma and one patients with squamous papilloma. Conclusion: Inverted papilloma is the most common benign tumor in the nose and paranasal sinuses, followed by squamous papilloma and hemangioma. The optimal management of benign tumors is complete excision of tumor and endonasal endoscopic surgery is an effective treatment for an inverted papilloma.

서울지역 여대생들의 떡에 대한 인식 및 섭취 실태 조사

This study conducted a survey of the improvement and popularization for Korea Rice Cakes, a Korean traditional food, on two hundred women students in five colleges in Seoul, Korea. It was investigated to get the information of the recognition, preference, and consumption patterns for the succession and improvement of Korean Rice Cakes. The results are as follows: 1. A portion of 41.5% among responders knows from three to six kinds of Korean Rice Cakes, and of 28% can make at least one among the kinds of Korean Rice Cakes. 2. A portion of 91% recognizes that Korean Rice Cakes are one of well-nourished food, but of 42% answers that Korean Rice Cakes cannot be replaced with the principle food. Also, there are no significant differences in the recognition of Korean Rice Cakes as the kinds of religions. 3. The frequency of purchase is about one or twice in a month (35.5%). Consumers (36.5%) intend to purchase Korean Rice Cakes for the commemoration of national holidays or anniversaries. 4. The reasons for the preference of other foods more than Korean Rice Cakes are the easiness of purchase (36.0%), the deliciousness (21.5%), the diverse kindness (17.5%), and the proper package (9.5%). It is important that constant and particular school / home education is need to improve and success Korean Rice Cakes.

Hexavalent chromium, Cr(Ⅵ),may reduce on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) filter during air sampling. This study was conducted to cstimate the reduction rate of Cr(Ⅵ) on PVC filter during air sampling and an correction equation for th loss of Cr(Ⅵ) by feduction in an industrial plating process. The reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) was progressed rapidly in 60 minutes and slowly thereafter. The empirical reduction rate of Cr(Ⅵ) (Y) over sampling time (X, min) was the following : Y= 0.916 -0.0208√x (r=0.73, p〈0.05). The loss of Cr(Ⅵ) caused by reduction during sampling can be corrected using the following empirical equation : Sc = S x 1/Y. where Sc = corrected value, S = analytical result, and Y= reduction rate of Cr(Ⅵ).

Recently, many educators have been paid their efforts to reorganize and redevelop educational systems in the Graduate Schools of Education at universities. Some studies have reported that teachers in K-12 school systems have tried to develop their expertise in their fields. One way to do this is to enter regular educational programs and to earn an academic degree. This inclination also requires the graduate schools of education to restructure their systems and improve their education programs. For these education needs, this study is to investigate some suggestions for restructuring teacher training systems in the Graduate School of Education at Sunchon National University. The following five aspects for further improvement of educational programs are suggested: ① Humanization of teacher-training contents, ② Digitalization of educational systems, ③ Interrelationship of K-12 school systems and course-works of graduate programs, ④ Internationalization of educational programs, ⑤ Professionalization and specialization of educational fields.

Public library effectiveness is determined by a complexity of the internal and external environments of the library. The purpose of this article is to investigate community environments and library resources as determinants of the output measures of the 15 municipal libraries in Seoul and to cope with changes in the environments for the improvement of their performance. This study is based on the hypotheses that the library's output would be proportioned to the size of budget and library collection, and to the relationships between the characteristics of the library and of the community in which the library develops. The variables identified in this study are population density, family size, institutions (social, cultural, financial and educational), presence of the mass media, size of service area, and economic level of the community. The output measures employed for analysis are: number of professional staff, expenditures, number of books in the collection, number of books added annually, total circulation, number of library visits, circulation per capita, library visits per capita, and registration as a percentage of population. There cases of mass disaster, KAL accident in Tripoli, express bus accident and park cemetry accident in Korea, were referred to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation, Seoul, Korea for individual identification (ID). All the cases were thoroughly investigated to establish the most scientifically sound ID possible. In addition to evidence from fingerprint, dental, anthropological, visual, pathological, blood typing and superimpose according to the case, X-ray studies were attempted. In KAL case, 52 of 59 were identified by comparison radiography. Differential diagnosis was accomplished in 2 misidentified bodies in express bus case by radiography. Radiologic examination also revealed good characteristics in park cemetry case, however, did not satisfactorily contribute to ID because of restricted information.
