Penetration of concrete by aggressive materials in solution may cause an undesirable effect on concrete durability, for instance when Ca(OH)₂ is being leached out or an attack by aggressive liquids takes place. In particular, carbonation occurs in concrete because the calcium bearing phases present are easily attacked by carbon dioxide and converted to calcium carbonate from surface of concrete, It has been known that the durability of reinforced concrete structure is concerned with the surface performance of concrete which affects on the carbonation occurred by invasion of CO₂ gas and the corrosion of steel bar occurred by O₂ In this paper, the effects of carbonation resistance by improvement of surface performance for concrete are investigated according to the accelerated carbonation test. It is believed that the carbonation resistance of concrete has been significantly improved by the application of penetrative hardening agent due to the formation of a dense surface.

본 연구에서는 온도에 따른 압전특성이 매우 안정적인 LiTaO_3(x-112°y) 단결정을 이용하여 압전변압기를 제작하고 그 특성을 분석하였다. 제작시 LiTaO_3 단결정의 변환효율이 낮은 단점을 보완하기 위해 Lame'-mode를 이용하여 길이와 폭의 비가 2:1인 압전변압기를 제작하고 PSpice를 이용하여 진동 모드 해석, 입력전압에 따른 출력전압특성 및 진동속도특성을 분석하였다. 제작한 압전변압기는 길이방향의 제 2차 고조파 주파수와 폭방향의 기본공진주파수가 결합된 290.83(㎑)에서 입력전압에 대한 최대출력전압이 나타났으며, 약 10배 정도의 승압비를 얻을 수 있었다. The single crystal of LiTaO_3(x-112°y) has very stable thermal characteristics in a piezoelectric transformer. In this paper, a piezoelectric transformer made of the crystal is newly designed and its operating characteristics are analyzed. The length of the transformer is determined as twice as its width for Lame'-mode because the single crystal of LiTaO_3 has low electro-acoustic efficiency. The electric and vibrational characteristics of the transformer is simulated by the PSpice program, and its results are compared to experimental ones. As the results, the ratio of output voltage to input shows large than 10 at 290.83(㎑), which is the frequency coupled the 2nd harmonic for length and the fundamental for width of the Lame'-mode transformer.
돼지생식기호흡기 증후군(PRRS) 바이러스 감염시킨 돼지 기관의 병리학적 관찰

The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus was inoculated into swine tracheal organ culture. The ballooning degeneration of the tracheal ciliated epithelium and a decrease of ciliary activity from the tracheal organs infected with PRRS virus were observed one day post-infection(PI). Tracheal epithelium showed degeneration and focal necrosis 2 days PI. Epithelial necrosis and loss of cilia and epithelial cells became more severe 3 and 4 days PI. An entire loss of cilia and epithelial cells were recognized 4 days PI, however, control tracheal organs were normal during the period of the experiment except a little decrease of ciliary activities with time..

This paper dealt with the developmental changes of the amniotic surface area of the chick embryos from 5th to 9th days. Fetilized white leghorn 150 eggs were incubated and above 20 incubated eggs were freezed at random everyday in the refreezerater during 24 hr from the 5th incubated day to the 9th day serially and the chick amnions only containing chick embryos were photographied, and the plane surface area of the amnions were obtained by microcomputer image analyzer. These data were analyzed statistically and obtained results were as followings. 1. The amniotic surface area of chick embryos on each day of from the 5th to the 9th were 23.59±4.01 sq mm, 51.76±12.68 sq mm, 79.56±21.60 sq mm, 151.74±34.54 sq mm and 309.87±51.43 sq mm, respectively. 2. The rate of growth quantity of the amniotic surface area were increased by 2.19 on the day of the 6th to the 5th day, 3.37 on the day of 7, 6.43 on the day the 8th and 13.14 on the day 9th. 3. Coefficience variation on the day from the 5th to the 9th were 17%, 24.5%, 27.1%, 22.8% and 16.6%. 4. Except between 5th day and 6th day, the growth quantity between each day were increased significantly(P<0.001).
소 卵胞의 體外培養에 의한 卵子의 體外成熟과 體外受精에 관한 硏究

This study was to investigate the effects of the follicular culture from which the oocytes origenate on their subsequent in vitro maturation. The follicular oocytes were cultured in TCM-199 medium containing FCS, hormones, BFF for 24-30 hrs in CO^2 incubator with 5% CO^2 in air at 38.5℃ and then matured oocytes were again 18-20 hrs with motile capacitated spermatozoa in the BO solution containing 100 ㎍/㎖ of heparin. The results obtained in these experiments were summarized as follows : 1.Ovarian follicles were isolated and cultured according to size 1-2 ㎜, 2-4 ㎜, 4-6 ㎜ and 6-8 ㎜ for 24-30 hrs. The rates of GVBD in each group were 80.0%(40/50), 84.4%(38/45), 77.8%(35/45) and 84.0%(42/50), but oocytes maturation were supressed at anaphaes-Ⅰ or telephase-Ⅰ stage. 2. When oocytes cultured for 4 hrs at 35℃ in medium with BFF and hormones after follicular culture for 24-30 hrs, the maturation completed to metphase-Ⅱ stage. However, rates of GVBD in oocytes from follicular culture were higher than oocytes cultured in medium. 3. When oocytes from follicle cultured for 4 hrs at various temperature and culture time were cultured for 24-30hrs the rates of oocytes maturation from follicle cultured at 20℃(43.6%, 24/55), 30℃(47.3%, 26/55) and 35℃(52.7%, 29/55) were significant higher than group cultured at 4℃(24.4%, 11/45). 4. When oocytes from follicles cultured for hrs at 35℃, the rates of oocytes maturation and fertilization rates were 67.3%(101/150), 29.3%(44/150) and oocytes cultured for 24-30hrs at 35℃, thr rates of oocytes maturation and in vitro fertilization were 86.5%(122/141), 53.9%(76/141), respectively.
고양이, 돼지 및 오리의 망막에 존재하는 S-100 단백질의 분포에 대한 면역화학적 연구

소의 뇌에서 처음으로 분리된 S-100 protein이 각 동물 망막에 존재하는 상태를 규명하기 위하여 S-100 protein antiserum을 이용하여 고양이,돼지, 오리의 망막을 면역화학적 방법으로 처리하여 그 분포상태를 조사하였던 바 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 고양이, 돼지, 오리의 망막에 분포하는 S-100 protein의 분포부위와 그 정도가 동물에 따라 서로 달랐다. 2. 고양이와 돼지에서는 각신경세포층 및 각 망상층에 모두 존재하였으나 오리에서는 각신경세포만 존재 하였다. 3. 각 동물 망막에 존재하는 S-100 protein의 분포를 규명하는 것은 앞으로 각 동물의 망막연구에 필요한 각 층들을 구별 하는데 좋은 지침이 될 수 있다.

The number and distribution of retinal ganglion cells in the Korean native goats was studied with whole mount preparations stained with methylene blue and thionin. The mean area of 5 retinae is 918 mm² and the mean number of total ganglion cells was 1, 602, 000. So the mean number of ganglion cells per mm² was 1,745. The density distribution of the retinal ganglion cells showed that visual streak was located about 2mm dorsal to the optic disc, and area centralis (7,700 cells/mm') was located about 10mm temporally and 2mm dorsal to the optic disc. There was drop in density of retinal ganglion cells about the circumference of the visual streak in dorsal and ventral direction. The functional significance of the findings was also discussed.
