      • 忠南一部 農村地域에 對한 영유아의 身體發育狀況 : 아산군 탕정면을 중심으로

        It is important to know about the infancy growth quantity because infant is the period of the most rapid extrauterine growth. Infancy growth condition are influenced by many factors such as genetic, nutritional, socioeconomic and culturalc onsiderations. we intended to see the infancy growth quantity of a part of the agricultural region in Chungnam Province especially the region around Asan Gun Tangjeong Myen in which Maegok clinic being supported by our college is located. In order to evaluate the infant's growth guantity; body weight, height, chest and head circumference, we used 3500 infants (2000males and 1500females) from zero to 20 months of age. Those infant's growth values were measured by trained persons at the time of visiting the clinic to consult and check their health conditions and inoculation about communicable disease or being visited periodically their home by trained persons and, then the mean, standard deviation, variance coefficient and standard error etc. were calculated The results obtained were as follows. 1. The mean body weight of male and female infants increased from 3.45kg and 3.36kg of the zero month group to 10.21kg and 10.05kg of the 20th month group that is the last month we measured 2. The mean height of male and female infants increased from 51.17cm and 50.80cm of the zero month group to 77.35cm and 76.28cm of the 20th month group. 3. The mean chest circumference of male and female infants increased from 35.82cm and 35.40cm of the zero month group to 47.51cm and 45.62cm of the 20th month group. 4. The mean head circumference of male and female infants increased from 34.90cm an 33.80cm of the zero month group to 47.51cm and 33.80cm of the 20th month group. 5. Comparing their body weight, height, chest and head circumference of this study with Korean, Japanese and American children's growth standard data, those means were slightly less than these data. 6. Comparing each their mean growth data of the above mentioned four portions in both sex of this study, they were higer in male than female. 7. The conclusion drawn from these results shows that the growth pattern of infants is not constant but changeable. 8. It is recommended that better weaning diet, improvement of nutrition, better education in child care and better environmental hygiene be provided in order to promote proper maximum growth.

      • 忠南 一部 農村地域의 영유아 成長에 關한 成長式에 依한 硏究

        For seeing about the infancy growth pattern of a part of the agricultural region in Chungnam Province especially the region around Tangjeong Myen, Asan Gun, authors analyzed the growth quantity and the growth gradient of the measured result of the body weight, height, and the chest and head circumference about 320 infants during from the first month to the 4th month after birth by means of the growth formula. The results obtained were as follows. 1. The growth quantity of the agricultural infants was lower than that of the urban infants. 2. In the rate of growth quantity, the body weight, height, and the chest and head circumference of the male were larger than those of the female. 3. Concerning the growth rate, the height, and the chest and head circumference of female were the largest in the first month group, and all portions of the male were largest in the 4th month group, 4. Regards to the specific growth rate, the body weights and the chest circumferences except the head circumference which were increased and the female were decreased, but the male height increased and the female height decreased. 5. In the growth gradient, the heights and the head circumferences of the male and the female were increased and the chest circumferencess of the male and the female aid the female height were decreased. 6. The growth center of the each part in the female comparing to that of the male were in the first month of the growth gradient

      • 5―Fluorouracil이 鷄胎體重 成長에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究

        The author has studied the effect of 5-fluorouracil on the development of the body weight in chick embryo, which is recently drawing attention in the aspect of its relation to the growth inhibition and malformation as anticarcinogenic agent. On the eight day of incubation 250㎍, 500㎍ and 1,000㎍ of 5-fluorouracil were injected into the chrioallantoic membrane in incubated eggs of three groups, and the eggs were brocken for weighing the body weights on the day of 12th, 14th, 16th, and 18th. The effects of doses on the growth were analyzed by the analysis of variance method. The growth formula (y=a+bt+ct^2) and relative growth formula(y=bx^α) were applied to deternine the theoretical growth Quantities and analyze the factors included in the growth Quantities. The results thus obtained were summarized as follows: 1. There were signficances of growth quantities between control and injected groups, and between 250㎍, 500㎍ and 1,000㎍ injected groups. 2. The growth rates were increased with development in all groups and 500㎍ injected group was tipycal pattern. 3. The specific growth rate of all groups showed tendency of decrease. The order of the tendencies were 1, 000㎍ iniected group, control group, 250ug injected group and 500㎍ injected group. 4. The growth centers of the growth gradient in the 250㎍ and 500㎍ injected groups were the eighteenth day of incubation and 1, 000㎍ injected group was in the twelfth day. 5.       • 韓國在來山羊의 綱膜神經節細胞數와 分布에 關한 硏究

        The number and distribution of retinal ganglion cells in the Korean native goats was studied with whole mount preparations stained with methylene blue and thionin. The mean area of 5 retinae is 918 mm² and the mean number of total ganglion cells was 1, 602, 000. So the mean number of ganglion cells per mm² was 1,745. The density distribution of the retinal ganglion cells showed that visual streak was located about 2mm dorsal to the optic disc, and area centralis (7,700 cells/mm') was located about 10mm temporally and 2mm dorsal to the optic disc. There was drop in density of retinal ganglion cells about the circumference of the visual streak in dorsal and ventral direction. The functional significance of the findings was also discussed.

      • 오리 鼻腔 및 鼻粘膜上皮의 計測에 관한 硏究

        The area of the various epithelial types linging the nasal navity of each six number in 1-week-old and 10-week-old adult ducks has been made for the light microscopic research. Transverse sections of 10 microns thick in each specimen were made continuously from the anterior end of nostril to the posterior end of pharyngeal inlet and specimen samples were selected at 0.13mm(1-week-old) and 0.17mm(10-week-old) intervals from the anterior end of the nasal cavity to the posterior end of pharyngeal inlet. The results obtained from research were summarized as follows. 1. The nasal cavity is lined with stratified squamous, respiratory and olfactory epithelium. The thickness of stratified squamous, respiratory and olfactory epithelium is 10-100㎛, 8-75㎛ and 50㎛ respectively in 1-week-old ducks, and 25-175㎛, 20-125㎛ and 66㎛ respectively in 10-week-old ducks. 2. The unilateral volumes of the nasal cavity in 1-week-old and 10-week-old ducks were 21.73±2.64㎟, 1,692.44±171.57㎟ respectively. 3. The total unilateral surface areas of the nasal cavity in 1-week-old and 10-week-old ducks were 70.44±4.92㎟, 1,772.45±94.10㎟ respectively. 4. Each area of the stratified squamous epithelium, respiratory epithelium and olfactory epithelium in unilateral nasal cavity is 14.82±1.85㎟ (21.1%), 46.86±3.20㎟ (66.5%) and 8.76±0.40㎟ (12.4%) in the 1-week-old ducks, and 348.23±40.02㎟ (19.7%), 1,282.31±47.03㎟ (72.3%) and 141.90±12.43㎟ (8.0%) in the 10-week-old ducks. Ducks are assumed as a microsmatic animals by the composition of the lining epithelium of the nasal cavity in ducks.

      • 오리 網膜에 存在하는 神經節細胞의 數와 分布에 關한 硏究

        The number and distribution of the retinal ganglion cells in the 1-week-old and 7-week-old ducks were determined from whole flat mounted preparations stained with methylene blue and thionin. The results were summarized as follows. 1. In the 1-week-old and 7-week-old ducks, the areas of the retinas were 269.4㎟ and 357.2㎟, respectively, and the total cell numbers 1,742,800 and 1,808,800, respectively. 2. The ganglion cells based upon soma diameter were classified into 3 groups such as small (below 10㎛), medium (10-20㎛) and large (above 20㎛) ganglion cells. In 1-week-old duck, the relative frequencies of these 3 groups were 91.0%, 8.5% and 0.5%, respectively, and in 7-week-old duck, 83.7% 14.7% and 1.6%, respectively. 3. Area centralis was located at the distance of 1.6mm (1-week-old) and 2.0mm(7-week-old) nasal side from the anterior tip of the pecten. The number of ganglion cells in the area centralis was 11,000 cells/㎟ (1-week-old) and 12,000 cells/㎟ (7-week-old). 4. There was a gradual decrease in density of retinal ganglion cells extending from area centralis to the periphery of retina. 5. The density of the large (above 20㎛) ganglion cells was higher in the peripheral regions than in the center of retina. Higher densities were noted in the superior-temporal region in 7-week-old duck, and in the nasal region in 1-week-old duck than in the other regions. 6. The direction of the beak tip is approximately 30° in 1-week-old and 26° in 7-week-old duck from the angle of the pecten.

        The author measured cross-section slices which was sliced by the slicing machine as l㎝ thitk and them made into museums by polyester resin in 10 Korean adult males. The results obtained are as follows: 1. We can know about the position, structural interrelation and measured from skin surface of the intrathoracic organs by the polyester resin museums. 2. The patterns of the lungs were similar each other, but the hearts pattern were b>c> a>d.

      • 鷄胎器官에 미치는 Rifampin의 抑制效果

        In order to analyzed the effects of rifampin on the growth of each organs of embryonated egg, 2mg per egg of rifampin were injected into the chorioallantoic sac on the 6th of embryonated egg. Control and experimental group of eggs was broken on the 18th day of incubation for weighting the body weight and various organs-heart, liver, lung, kidney, and brain of chick embryo, and difference of effects were analyzed by discriminant function method. The results were as follow; 1. By discriminant function method, different effects was conspicuous between control group and rifampin 2mg per egg injected group. 2. Mean of discriminant value was 22.87 in control group and 12.63 in rifampin injected group. 3. Discriminant limit value was 17. 75 and the error of discrimination was 11 percent.

      • 생쥐 鼻中隔 各種 粘膜上皮 및 粘膜下腺의 分布樣狀과 그 表面積에 관한 硏究

        In order to set the distribution pattern and surface area of the mucosal epithelium and submucosal gland in the mice nasal septum. 3-month-old healthy 6 mice weighing 25gm approximately have been contributed for this research. For the mapping of the each nasal epithelium and submucosal gland in the submicroscopic level, the routine paraffin block of the mice nasal septum were cut as the 10㎛ thick at 110㎛ intervals. Consecutive 2 slides were stained with H-E and PAS and reconstructed in form of maps representing the structure in a sagittal plane. The results obtained from this research were summarized as follows. 1. The unilateral nasal surface epithelial area of the mice nasal cavity was 31.23㎟ 2. The areas of the stratified squamous epithelium, respiratory epithelium and olfactory epithelium which compose the unilateral nasal epithelium were 4.47㎟(14.3%), 12.7㎟(40.8%), and 14.02㎟(44.9%), respectively. 3. Submucosal glands in the mice nasal septum were divided into the PAS-positive, PAS-negative and Bowman's glands by the PAS staining. 4. The surface area of the PAS-positive glands in the nasal unilateral septum was 5.23㎟ which is located in the central area of the respiratory portion. 5. The surface area of the PAS-negative glands in the nasal unilateral septum was 5.05㎟ which is located above and below the PAS-positive gland. 6. The surface area of the Bowman's glands was 12.1 ㎟ which was located in the olfactory region. 7. In the vestibular region., 3 ducts of PAS-negative glands of the respiratory region are found, and below the nasal septum there is the infraseptal gland(PAS-negative).

        A case of Sternalis which was found during dissection of cadaver at the school of medicine of Chungnam National University is reported. The main findings were as follows; 1. This Sternalis is formed with Rt. & Lt. Sternalis muscles and each has lateral and medial bellies. 2. The origins of this Sternalis are the 6th and 7th costal cartilages and the lateral margin of the sternum at the level of the 5th costal cartilage. 3. The insertions of this Sternalis are the aponeurosis of the Piatysma and the midpoint of the manubrium sterni. 4. This Sternalis may he the continuous muscle of Platysma, so that this Sternalis is probably the remains of the cutaneous muscle. 5. This Sternalis may be accompanied by the anomalies of the surrounding muscles.
