        방사선 조사된 참깨에서 hydrocarbon류 검지를 위한 초임계 유체 추출 공정의 이용

        초임계 유체 추출 공정을 이용하여 참깨에서 hydrocarbon류를 검출하여 참깨의 방사선 조사 여부 검지 전처리 기술에 활용하고자 하였다. 참깨를 2 kGy의 감마선을 조사하여 hexane으로 지방을 추출한 용매 추출과 초임계 유체 추출을 이용하여 추출한 지방을 Florisil coulumn으로 분리한 후 hydrocarbon 류를 GC-MS로 분석하였다. 용매 추출에서와 같이 초임계 유체 추출 공정을 이용하여 검출된 hydrocarbon 류은 동일하게 검지되었으며 그 marker 로써 활용 가능한 hydrocarbon 류인 13:3, 17:2, 16:2, 17:1은 비조사 참깨에서는 검출되지 않아TEk. 보조 용매르 사용한 초임계 추출 공정에서 각 보조용매에서 추출된 지방량은 용매 추출보다 많았으며 보조용매를 사용하여 검출된 hydrocarbon 류의 검출량은 methanol을 제외하고 전반적으로 많이 검출되었다. 특히 acetone의 경우 marker로 사용가능한 hydrocarbon류는 용매 추출에서보다 3~4배 정도, CO₂만을 사용함 초임계 유체 추출 공정에서 보다 거의 2배의 검출 특성을 보여주었다. 이러한 결과는 초임계 유체 추출 공정이 방사선 조사 여부 검지 기술에 있어서 기존의 용매 추출에 비해 지방 추출시 용매 소모량의 감소, hydrocarbon 류의 검출량 증가 등의 이유로 hydrocarbon 류의 검지 기술에 있어 전처리 기술로 활용 가능하리라 사료된다. Radiation-induced hydrocarbons from the irradiated sesame were investigated in this study to compare the chemical properties of irradiated and non-irradiated foodstuff. The detective volatile hydrocarbons for the irradiated sesame were (C14:0), 1-tetradence (C14:1), n-pentadecane (C15:0), n-hexadecane (C16:0), 1-hexadecane (C16:1), n-heptadecane (C17:0), 8-heptadecene (C17:0), 1,7-hexadecadiene (C16:2) 1,7,10-hexadecadiene (C16:3) 6,9-heptadecadiene (C17:2). The characteristic of extracts was also investigated at the change of pressure and temperature. And then it was found that the increase of the pressure and the decrease of the temperature in supercritical fluid extraction have made possible much more rapid extraction of volatile hydrocarbons. The amounts of volatile hydrocabons for irradiated and non-irradiated foodstuff were definitely differentiate. It could be concluded that the supercritical fluid extraction was possible for detective extraction method irradiated foods.

        With the widespread use of fertility medications and techniques of in vitro fertilization, multiple gestation has become epidemic in modern obstetric practice. Delivery of the initial fetus in a multiple gestation usually is followed by delivery of the subsequent fetus or fetuses shortly thereafter. However in rare circumstances, the delivery is delayed for days due to disappearance of uterine contraction after delivery of the first fetus. When uterine activity ceases after the delivery of the first neonate, a policy of nonintervention may be considered in case of an immature or very premature delivery, in order to achieve a gestational age for the remaining fetus(es) more compatible with neonatal survival. We report a case of twin gestation with prolongation of the delivery interval between the twins for 46 days.

      • 낙상홍(Ilex serrata)의 繁殖에 관한 硏究

        本 硏究는 열매의 觀賞價値가 우수한 낙상홍의 適切한 繁殖方法을 究明하고자 種子播種을 비롯하여 揷木時期에 따라서 多樣한 濃度의 發根促進物質處理를 行하였던 바, 그 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 低溫層積時期에 따른 發芽率의 差異는 無處理에서 23.8%가 發芽하였으나 90日間의 처리는 85%의 發芽率을 나타냄으로써 種子의 冷混積效果가 있었다. 2. 綠枝揷木時 揷木時期가 1987年 6月 22日에 揷木한 揷穗에서 암그루의 경우 IBA 500ppm 浸漬處理가 發根率 80%, 發根數 5.94% 및 根長 4.95cm로 發根成績이 良好하였으며 숫그루는 1987年 6月 15日에 揷木한 揷穗에서 IBA 500ppm 處理에서 發根率이 70%를 비롯하여 發根數 9.01, 根長 10.00cm로서 發根促進效果를 나타내었다. 3. 일반적으로 숫그루의 發根狀態는 암그루에 비해 다소 높은 것으로 알려져 있으나 1987년 6월 22일에 揷木한 綠枝揷에서 암그루는 숫그루에 比해서 良好한 發根效果를 나타내었다. The objectives of this studs were investigation of the suitable propagation methods, the comparison of the influence of period for softwood cuttings of llex serrata and the determination of effectiveness of various rooting Promotion treatments. The results obtained were as follows. 1. The germination rate 85% when the Period of stratification was 90 days, while the germination rate 23.8% when the Period of stratification was 0 day. 2. The rooting rate of the female softwood cuttings treated IBA 500 ppm on June 22 was utmost 88%, and number of the cuttings was 5.94,%, and the length of the cutting was 4.94cm, The rooting of the male softwood cuttings treated IBA 500 ppm on June 15 was utmost 70%, and the number of the cuttings was 9, 10, and the length of the cutting was 10.00cm. 3. The rooting percentage, rootlet number, and length of root of male plants were generally better than those of female plants. But Female cuttings treated IBA 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, 2000ppm including on June 22 were rooted very well.

        회장에 장폐색을 유발한 Anisakiasis 1예

        Anisakiasis refers to the infestation of humans by species of marine nematode larvae belonging to the subfamily Anisakiae. An acute abdominal symptom may occur after ingestion of raw marine fish containing nematode larvae of the genus Anisakis. Migration of the parasite into the wall of gtomach, small intestine or, less commomly, the colon elicits a striking eosinophilic granulomatous tissue response. A 39 year old man was visited St. Vincent Hospital because of abdominal distension and tenderness. The plain abdominal X-ray showed ileus pattern suggesting intestinal obstruction. Hence we presented a case of intestinal Anisakiasis combined with intstinal obstruction.

      • 美國芙蓉 (Hibiscus moscheutos)의 花粉學的 硏究

        Pollen morphology, sculpturing, and structure are useful in taxonomic studies from the family to the cultivar level. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies on pollen morphology have proven to be a useful plant identification tool for taxonomists and horticulturist. Pollen grains of 5 Hibiscus moscheutos 'Southern belle' unnamed were studied. This study was conducted to observe pollen characters, and to investigate possibility of classification among cultivars. The results obtained were as follows. Pollen grains were characteristically monad and circular, sculpturing patterns were clavate in the light-pink color, others are echinate, and aperture were periporate. The diameter of pollen were large in the light-pink color and white color, and height of spines appeared small. Number of spines of pink color, light-color, and white color were more than that of the others. Number of aperture had no significant differeence each other, and number of pore area were plenty in flower-pink color and pink color. Morphological and structural characteristics of pollen may serve as an aid in the taxonomic identification of cultivars in Common Rose Mallow.

      • 내시경적 점막절제술로 치험한 식도 과립상 세포종 1례

        과립상 세포종은 Schwann 세포 기원으로 생각되며 인체에 비교적 드물게 발생한다. 과립상 세포종은 전신 어느 곳에서나 발견될 수 있으나 주로 혀, 구강, 피부 혹은 유방 등에서 호발하며 드물게 위장관에서 발견된다. 위장관에서는 식도에서 가장 호발하며 다음으로 위, 대장 순이다. 과립상 세포종은 대부분, 특히 위장관에서는 양성이며 소수의 악성 병변이 보고되었다. 이러한 이유와 함께 수술 전의 진단이 어렵기 때문에 과립상 세포종에 대한 근본적인 치료는 현재까지 외과적 절제술이다. 최근에 시도되는 치료방법들로는 내시경적 레이저 치료, 용종절제술, 내시경적 점막 절제술 등이 있다. 저자들은 상부 소화관 내시경검사를 시행하여 식도 과립상 세포종을 진단하고 내시경적 점막 절제술을 시행하여 합병증 없이 퇴원하여 현재 재발없이 경과 관찰중인 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Granular cell tumors, which occur infrequently, are probably of Schwann cell origin. They can occur almost anywhere in the body but usually affect the tongue, oral cavity, skin, or breasts and are rarely found in the gastrointestinal tracts. The esophagus is the most frequent gastrointestinal site, followed by the stomach and the colon. Granular cell tumors are generally benign, especially in the gastrointestinal tract, some malignant lesions have been reported. For this reason, and also because preoperative diagnosis is difficult, the standard treatment for granular cell tumor has until now been surgical excision. In recent years, other therapeutic methods is endoscopic laser therapy (ELT), polypectiomy, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). We report a case of esophageal granular cell tumor which was diagnosed by an endoscopy and managed using an endoscopic mucosal resection without complication.

        Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 and kidney diseases in the era of coronavirus disease 2019

        In the decades since the discovery of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), its protective role in terms of antagonizing activation of the classical renin-angiotensin system (RAS) axis has been recognized in clinical and experimental studies on kidney and cardiovascular diseases. The effects of ACE inhibitor/angiotensin type 1 receptor blockers (ACEi/ARBs) on ACE2-angiotensin-(1-7) (Ang- (1-7))-Mas receptor (MasR) axis activation has encouraged the use of such blockers in patients with kidney and cardiovascular diseases, until the emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The previously unchallenged functions of the ACE2-Ang-(1-7)-MasR axis and ACEi/ARBs are being re-evaluated in the era of COVID-19; the hypothesis is that ACEi/ARBs may increase the risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection by upregulating the human ACE2 receptor expression level. In this review, we examine ACE2 molecular structure, function (as an enzyme of the RAS), and distribution. We explore the roles played by ACE2 in kidney, cardiovascular, and pulmonary diseases, highlighting studies that defined the benefits imparted when ACEi/ARBs activated the local ACE2- Ang-(1-7)-MasR axis. Finally, the question of whether ACEi/ARBs therapies should be stopped in COVID-19-infected patients will be reviewed by reference to the available evidence.

        Antiapoptotic Effect of Paricalcitol in Gentamicin-induced Kidney Injury

        While the anti-apoptotic effect of paricalcitol has been demonstrated in various animal models, it is not yet clear whether paricalcitol attenuates the apoptosis in gentamicin (GM)-induced kidney injury. We investigated the effect of paricalcitol on apoptotic pathways in rat kidneys damaged by GM. Rats were randomly divided into three groups: 1) Control group (n=8), where only vehicle was delivered, 2) GM group (n=10), where rats were treated with GM (150 mg/kg/day) for 7 days, 3) PARI group (n=10), where rats were co-treated with paricalcitol (0.2 ${\mu}g/kg/day$) and GM for 7 days. Paricalcitol attenuated renal dysfunction by GM administration in biochemical profiles. In terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling staining, increased apoptosis was observed in GM group, which was reversed by paricalcitol co-treatment. Immunoblotting using protein samples from rat cortex/outer stripe of outer medulla showed increased Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and cleaved form of caspase-3 in GM group, both of which were reversed by paricalcitol. The phosphorylated Jun-N-terminal kinase (JNK) expression was increase in GM, which was counteracted by paricalcitol. The protein expression of p-Akt and nitro-tyrosine was also enhanced in GM-treated rats compared with control rats, which was reversed by paricalcitol co-treatment. Paricalcitol protects GM-induced renal injury by antiapoptotic mechanisms, including inhibition of intrinsic apoptosis pathway and JNK.
